The guy working was friendly and helpful. I arrived to check in at 12:30am, he gave me a key and pointed me to my room. After multiple attempts, I had to go back to have a new one printed - that one didn’t work either. He printed a third key and tried it himself, reliizing it didn’t work because someone was already staying in that room, for whatever reason, their system allows them to put multiple people in the same room, luckily the key didn’t work or we would have all been in for a surprise.

Please read, possible creep living there. Took a 3 hour drive there for a concert and check in was at 2:00 pm we got there around 2:40 and the room wasn’t ready. Mind you we had planned to get ready at the hotel since we left super early. Concert was at 5 we had to get ready in the car! Room wasn’t even ready by the time we left around 3:30. When we got back to the hotel after the concert room was fine besides the toilet wouldn’t flush. My mom had to fix it… also AC unit barely worked. When we were checking out my mom was going out to her car to put her suit case In her car, & this obese man tried to get her to go in the hotel room to help him find his charger… and he kept taking to her and she said no, and then as we were bringing all our things out, and he asked for help again for us to go in his room and then he commented how he’d pay for us to stay in his hotel room again. He was also shirtless while doing all this talking, with his hotel door open. His hotel room was an absolute mess. Would not recommend this hotel. Please stay safe and keep your guard up if you choose this hotel. Paid over $300 jisy for how room not to be ready after a 3 hour and 15 minute drive. Was very disappointed.

If I can give this place ZERO stars, I would. There was a horrendous stench, a lingering wet dirty mop water smell. Everything was dirty, there was hair from previous stays in the sink. The furniture was dirty and stained. My wife and I didn’t feel comfortable sleeping at this establishment and didn’t stay the night, left our information at the front desk to hopefully sort everything out but the owner is on “vacation” for weeks.

This is my second stay here. Both times I said never again. The staff is nice and they sort of TRY with the grounds--dog poop bags which people may use and broken glass and hallways and stairs which need pressure wash. The building is worn out and infused with smoke from years past---it will never be 'smoke free.' It's cheap but not cheap enough. My clothes still smell of smoke 2 days later. Pay a few bucks more and stay aomeplace else,

The staff were very nice. The room smelled like a**, literally! I think all they did was make the bed. I don’t believe they even changed the sheets! I slept on top of the blankets, what I could sleep. It was the nastiest motel I’ve ever been in and I travel a lot!! I will not be back and I’ll be telling everyone not to stay there!!

The property grounds are riddled with dog poop, the room was semi clean. The floor had sum minimal debris as well as the bathroom. The fridge was not cleaned out good. There were food particles still in it. The beds were made and they were comfortable, no bugs, and the air conditioner, tv, toilet, and shower worked very well. The guests services ppl were friendly, competent, and always ready to help with a smile.

Front desk staff was great at check in. Super nice. Room was disgusting. I can’t even explain. What the walls were like. It looked like someone tried to splatter spackle on them and the curtains. The toilet paper looked like someone had spilled (I’m hoping spilled) something all over it. The floor was so dirty that I took a towel to wipe up water from our shoes and it came back black. The ceiling was peeling from what looked like water damage (we were on the 1st floor) The pillows were nonexistent they were so thin. I travel for a living and have stayed in everything from high end to super economical and this was honestly one of grossest. I actually looked to find somewhere else after we checked in but everything was completely full

It was a \"motel\" not a hotel. They did not have an elevator and because I \"booked online\" they were hard pressed to give me a room on the first floor even though my mother is 88 years old and can't do the stairs. The staff did do it, but only after I had to practically beg. The room was dusty and old. I looked for bed bugs because that was the vibe of the place. There was a dog barking in the room next door well into the early hours of the morning. There was no breakfast. They were near the highway and the shower was nice. Would not stay there ever again.

I asked for a new room, but as told none were available. I asked for a refund but was told only the manager could provide that. I turned in the kids and left to find other lodging.

This is an old, tired hotel. The floors were dirty, paint stained and peeling, bathtub old and dirty looking. One of two beds in very poor condition. No hairdryer in room. Coffee only in lobby. No kettle to make tea.
Very overpriced at $227 Canadian per night for a rather disgusting experience.

The hotel room was very dirty. The sheets were covered with black specs of dirt, the sheets had spots on them making us wonder if they were stained or left from the last guest. By walking barefoot on the floor, my perfectly clean feet turned black. The worst part was that the two carpets in the room had an overwhelming smell of dog urine. We were tired after attending the concert in South Bend so we went to bed, but because the room was so unpleasant with the very loud fridge and the strong smell of dog urine we got in the car at 4am and started the 8 hour drive back home. We had a much different plan in mind when we booked the stay. We understood it would be a budget accommodation but we didn’t realize that it would be so dirty.

The \"Ratz\" Carlton

Older property. Poorly maintained. Absolutely filthy. Should be bulldozed immediately. Spider webs, mold, dirty and absurdly smelly. They claim to be 100% non-smoking, but our room had an overwhelming smell of stale cigarette smoke. Asked to switch rooms and the second room was even worse. The fridge was broken and the lamp was shorted out. They allow dogs at the motel and i saw people letting their dog pee on a pad just inside their door. I stay in hotels at least 50 times a year and this was the grossest place I've stayed in years. The people that are rating this property as clean most live in a trash dumpster. My wife and I are now calling this hell hole the Ratz Carlton.

The bath mat was stained so I used a towel instead, when I picked it up the floor was so dirty my footprint was embedded in the towel in dirt on the back. The floor around the toilet was warped and worn. The shower was lukewarm even turned on straight hot.

The property was in a sketchy area, the hotel across the street clearly had people living there. The parking lot had a van that looked like someone was living in. We did not feel safe. There were no smoking signs everywhere, but cigarette butts were all over the ground. The room smelled of urine, stale cigarettes and must. The ceilings had dust and cobwebs all over. The walls had orange rust, dried looking drips from the red painted wall. The bed was hard and not comfortable at all. The comforter had a large, yellow spot. The picture online that I based my booking on completely misrepresented the actual room we received. I felt filthy. They should be ashamed of a facility like this.

The hotel staff were very kind. The rooms were normal, maybe smaller than typical. The rooms were clean overall but a little dusty in visible places. The beds were comfortable and while they were clean, there were quite a few stains on the comforter and sheets, nothing too bothersome for us but could be for others. Pillows were extremely flat and hard to lay on. Would probably stay again, was priced for the stays value as well as convenient and easy.

How did this place get a GOOD rating 🤔

The room was filthy. The wall next to the shower was water damaged, the toilet seat was pealing, the bed skirt had stains I wouldn’t care to imagine what it was, there was dust and cobwebs everywhere, the shower had hair in it, the hand towels had old bloodstains, it said Nonsmoking online but the curtains and lampshades had burn holes in them, the walls all looked decorated in boogies and gross, the room smelled mildewed and stale, the mirrors and pictures had a layer of yuck on them too. There was a lot of late night foot traffic I am assuming due to the amount of conversations and banging on the nearby doors. The only plus was that there was no signs of bedbugs, or roaches. I will never book here again.

I chose RRI due to its history-longevity & price. They aren't fancy(I don't need fancy), just nice fooms with nice beds. I arrived at night and left in early morning \"low light\", so couldn't really see much detail of the property. The BIG thing for me was my room and its amenities. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, just what I expected and wanted.

When we found a cockroach in our room at 11:30pm, we immediately took this to the front desk. Rather than being apologetic, we were simply told there was nothing she could do because they were sold out & she couldn’t move us. We asked if they could even send someone to address the issue & we’re told she was the only one there & Orkin only comes during business hours & it was 11:30pm and she’s “not Orkin”.

When we asked for a refund (because we refused to sleep in a room with live roaches) we were told we would have to contact Expedia.

After spending more than 30 min on hold with Expedia, we were issued a refund and credit to our Expedia account. The agent was VERY helpful and efficient.

The room felt quite dirty, the floors were sticky the walls had dirty marks all over them, the corners and edges of all rooms including the bathroom had dirt and grime. The mattress and pillows were dirty and the sheets on one bed had some stains. The room also smelled stuffy and although advertised as non smoking smelt like maybe someone had smoked inside.
