I am sure people stay at this hotel multiple times, and the primary reason I continue to return is because of one exceptional team member—Ramona. She consistently goes above and beyond, demonstrating genuine kindness, empathy, and professionalism. Her ability to make guests feel valued truly stands out, and she is, without question, the highlight of every stay. If this review were based solely on her service, it would be five stars across the board.

Unfortunately, my most recent experience was impacted by an unexpected and deeply personal situation. I had a death in the family and was unable to make my scheduled reservation. While I understand that policies are in place for a reason, the lack of flexibility or compassion shown in this circumstance was disappointing. Situations involving loss are not planned, and a bit of understanding can go a long way in building lasting customer relationships.

It was especially disheartening to lose not only the reservation cost due to the non-refundable policy, but also the opportunity to attend a long-anticipated Notre Dame concert Luke Combs

The room was clean and the towels weren’t scratchy. That was about it for the good. I had to be watchful of the door because it may or may not latch when you closed it. Had a difficult time getting the tv on, the “breakfast” was laughable and I either King Kong above me walking normally or someone who was trying to stomp through the floor ALL night!

The room was clean, the AC unit worked great (important for me cause I like the room cold at night), the bed was on the harder side (the way I like it), and the staff was nice. I will say if you’re staying there for the free breakfast - it was basically cereal and a few muffins.

The room was basic the air conditioning worked great. House keeping needs to clean between the bed & headboard I saw trash, paper and even an earbud someone lost. The breakfast was some muffins, cereal, bread to make toast no butter and a machine for coffee/tea. It was a cheap price so you get what you pay for in every aspect.

Where do I start. This place is a DUMP. Do NOT spend your money here. The place needs lots of work. Key card not working. Mold in ceiling. Gap in the carpet into the bathroom. The only reason I booked originally was a cheaper price for an ND game compared to in the South Bend area.

When I pulled back the bedding, there was a short, curly dark hair on my sheet, not on top of the bed, but inside. Where you sleep. I was reluctant to involve the front desk due to some yelling in the lobby when I was checking in. I put a towel over the sheet and slept on that.

The vanity is in the main room, and it has a motion sensor light that is very bright and so sensitive that it turned on every time I changed position in my sleep, waking me up several times. This would have been even more annoying if there had been another person in the room! The toilet also has a motion sensor light, also very bright, in lieu of a night night. The last thing I want is a bright light to disrupt my sleep when I make a trip to the toilet.

There was a non-stop loud drip in the tub.

I ended up leaving early in the morning because slept so poorly, so I can't comment on the breakfast, which hadn't started yet. Considering that it is just coffee and some muffins (according to the clerk who checked me in), I don't know why they don't start earlier.

The room smelled like an old ash tray, even being a non-smoking room. The soap was used and put back into an old wrapper. We opened the window to help with the odor and it was full of cobwebs. It was very noisy until late in the night and if I could have found another place to stay, we would have gone. There was a concert a nearby town and no vacancies. I will never visit another Econo Lodge, anywhere.

The bed was uncomfortable. It had cigarette burns in the sheets. We had no hot water for showers. The TV did not work advertise. There was cable there was not the TV was just fuzzy with no Internet connection. No nothing just a horrible stay here. We had no key to the room so we could not leave and come back. There was dark black hair in the shower. Neither one of us have black hair. The AC did not work properly. We had it all the way turned down and it never got comfortable in the room.

Where to begin. As we approached our room, our door was wide open. We had to check the room to be sure no uninvited guests or critters had entered. Once we closed the door, we noticed a giant hair ball stuck by the security lock. Yum! The toilet needed to be wiped down. The shower was more of therapeutic. Think garden hose trickle. God help anyone taller than 5ft5. The shower head had you feeling like buddy the elf tall. The tv didn’t work at all. The mini fridge was completely off. Oh, the microwave was a nice touch. It was outside down the walkway where it was “communal”. The overall comfort depends on how well you can rest knowing crack heads are close by and wondering if you might get stabbed. I think I slept a solid hour. The continental breakfast spread was the final touch. The spread included 4 pieces of bread, two pastries and some cereal. All in all, I would not recommend staying here. Hope we didn’t leave with bed bugs, just some memories of our time at the Econo lodge.
I would recommend Freddie’s for dining. It was reasonably priced and delicious.

Check-in/out staff were great! However, recently a previous guest had blown the electrical crucuit to the outlets in half of the room. Staff tried to help but couldn't, as professional help was needed. Offered us another room, but with one of the bed frames broken (she did tell us this upfront). We declined that as we were tired and already settled in.

I had a terrible experience at Econolodge and would strongly recommend avoiding it. The room was absolutely disgusting—the bed was sagging badly, the sheets were filthy, and the floor was gross. The bathroom was infested with bugs, and the toilet was downright disgusting. To make matters worse, the \"complimentary breakfast\" they advertised never materialized, and I'm still waiting for it.

Additionally, the person working the reception was a guy from India who barely spoke any English. I tried to explain my concerns, but the communication was so poor it was practically useless. I couldn’t understand what he was saying, and after a while, it felt like a complete waste of time. I ended up leaving because it became clear that trying to resolve anything here was pointless.

Honestly, Motel 6 is $40 cheaper, cleaner, and far more professional. Don’t waste your time or money on this dump. If I can’t get a refund, I’ll just consider it a lesson learned.

The description of the bathroom said, 'Shower' there wasn't a picture but I booked a room with a shower. I noticed there wasn't a shower but a tub/shower combination. I was told there were no rooms with just a 'Shower' as stated. My 92 year old mother was not able to take a shower because she can not safely step over the tub wall. I was very disappointed 'Shower' was listed when in reality it was a tub/shower combination. I would not have booked this room had it been listed correctly.

While the room was okay in size some of the rooms had no remote for the TV. and when upon returning from a funeral the remote was missing again. The disabled room did not have any way for a disabled person to reach the shower head or move it down for ease of use. That room also had cigarette holes in the sheets, even though they are all smoke free. all 3 rooms' floors were dirty enough that after showering, feet were dirty just walking to the bed. So-Called free breakfast had horrible coffee that tasted days old, bagels were not fresh and no butter or cream cheese, no milk for the cereal and no way actually food or drinks back to the room without multiple visits. We will not return to stay there, the Best Western 200 feet away has much better at the same prices.

HORROR MOTEL

DO NOT STAY HERE ! The lady in the office was nice, but this place was like a horror movie motel. We were moving from California to Virginia, so we’ve been staying in different hotels every night. We are traveling with a small dog and a cat so it’s harder to find places that accept those and they did so we booked it online. Starting with the front office, they said they have a continental breakfast. There was like one little thing of cereal, and that was it. We parked our car and walked up to the room, and there was a used Q-tip on the stairway and all the carpet on the stairways are kind of ripped up. Almost every door has dents in them like being kicked.We get in our room which stunk like some kind of hooker perfume. We then started looking at the reviews which were mostly 1 star so we started checking everything out and on our comforter in our room there was some yellow stains in the comforter. Who knows what that might be? Our kids room comforter was red like it was stained with blood. We were there about 20 minutes and decided to get a refund and leave. Lucky for us there was a Hilton right next-door that takes pets and was a very nice place. The area on the Econolodge to walk your dogs to go to the bathroom was just dirt and mud in the back. We went up to get a refund and she said she couldn’t do it but would tell the owner and would hope that he would refund it. No, I have to do a chargeback because they didn’t refund. This place should be an hourly motel. DONT GO HERE

We went to check in at a lobby totally different than pictured. The guy behind counter could not speak clearly. He dinged my card twice and kept saying it did not work, even though it did come thru on my banks end. Both times the terminal said approved and accepted. While I was seeing if it went thru he leaves without telling any other staff what was going on. We cancelled and stayed else where. SHADY. I had to put a dispute charges on both attempts. Joel who took over when other guy left cancelled the rooms and was apologetic.Then he could not print cancellation receipt. He reported the first guy.

All started when we checked in and the guy checking in before us told us to just leave now and don’t stay it’s a sh*t hole! But no better options where we were at with paying $300 a night. So we checked in and leaving the office and the lady says good luck to us!!! Like what?? lol Then get to our room and the room key doesn’t work and have to go all the way back up front and then she tells us I don’t think someone else is in there. Finally get back to the room and open door slowly to make sure no one was in there and luckily it was empty. Quickly checked the beds for bugs first thing and instead of bugs found a big hole in the sheet instead! Went to Walmart bought pillows and cases and towels. Towels there were like sand paper. Shower leaked and dropped all night long! Huge stain on the carpet when walked in and holes in the wall. Definitely would not stay there again. But guess you get what you pay for.. Sketchy people all around the hotel at night so I would not advise staying with kids.

Where do I even start. This place was an absolute disaster. We are mortified and will never ever consider staying here again. We got there and the first room had the wrong size bed that was booked and didn’t have a TV. When we asked she apologized and gave us a new room key and new room. What happened next was completely inexcusable!!!! We enter into the new room and there were people staying in the room already. AMEN, that they were not there at the time! When we went to the front desk they simply said that the person in that room was staying there until December! They then just gave us another room that had almost 0 hot water and it looked like someone was murdered on the floor. There were stains EVERYWHERE! This place wins on eco friendliness though, cause we only got 1 towel. We never got asked how our stay was and simply were told to put the keys on the counter. AWFUL!

An “okay” place to stay

So it was a decent hotel.. but I barely could of stayed at a motel 6. They charge you for breakfast with your hotel and the “breakfast” was coffee and those tiny muffins you can pay at Walmart. They didn’t even have complementary soap… and the pillows were so flat, and the comforter had cigarette burns. The only please side was it was near a lot of restaurants and convenient stores.

we got to hotel about 11pm, no one in lobby. there was a buzzer on counter that looked like that was how you got someone...but it didn't work, in fact it fell apart! i used the phone on the wall to call front desk and it just rang and rang, no one came out. i yelled for someone, but it took probably 10 minutes or more for someone to come out. took forever to check in b/c she was messing around with keys from someone else that was left on the counter. expedia lists free breakfast but i was told no breakfast, only coffee. that needs changed b/c i don't think coffee only is considered breakfast. that was one of the reasons i booked this hotel, had i known, i would have stayed at a cheaper hotel that didn't offer breakfast. a lot of road noise until late in the night.

Strong fragrance throughout the hotel that tries to mask other odors which mixes to a gross smell. Bathroom door was broken ( someone kicked it). Towels and bed sheets seemed clean, AC worked great, pretty quiet, can walk to restaurants.

Very Disappointed

It was horrible. We had 4 people and room had 1 bed. No other rooms were available. Totally sold out that night. Had to argue with front desk to give us bedding for 2 people that are going to have to sleep on floor. They put all blame on you, Hotels.com, telling us it is because we used a 3rd party to book.

My room smelled of urine. I turned on the air conditioner. I pulled back the sheets to lay down and the mattress was soaked with urine. It was so soaked that it got on the seat of my nightshirt. Horrifying!!

Place is awful!!

Place was older but fairly well kept however ac made noise and quit working at 3 am. No hot water at 7am. Told manager and he just shrugged his shoulders!
