We loved our stay at the Idyllic and would highly recommend it. Excellent breakfast, lovely room and great views from the beachside pool and the beach itself. However, the absolute highlight was dinner on the beach at night in the hotel's restaurant...beautiful ambiance and some of the best food we have had in Thailand!

I had high hopes for this hotel, but unfortunately it didn’t live up to expectations, especially considering its price point. The rooms were decent, and the beach was lovely, but that’s about where the positive aspects end. The breakfast buffet was incredibly underwhelming, lacking basic items such as cheeses and nuts, which are standard in many lower-tier hotels. Upon checkout, there was an unexpected commotion in the lobby, which turned out to be related to a missing pair of disposable slippers. While those slippers cost no more than 50 cents, they were being treated as they were a significant issue. Those slippers, which cost maybe 40 cents, were something I had used and taken, assuming they were a standard disposable item. When I returned them, I was told that they reuse them!! Reusing slippers that have been worn by other guests, potentially harboring bacteria and fungus, is not only unhygienic but completely unacceptable, especially for a 4-star hotel. These slippers can't be washed because they'll be ruined. I work in hotel amenities supply and i know that for a fact. Yuck!!! For a four-star hotel charging $300 a night, it is deeply troubling that such a commotion would arise over a a 40 cent disposable item, especially given the potential health risks involved. This lack of basic hygiene is inexcusable.Given these issues, I can’t help but feel deeply disappointed, and I honestly cannot recommend it. I’m rating it 1 star, as I truly feel let down.

The jacuzzi suite is by far the best . Stayed 2 times and the the 3rd time I managed to book a newly renovated room just above the reception on the 3rd floor. Room was nice but the stairs….to breakfast and back was torturing. Too many steps . Always book the chalet on the beach.

The island of Koh lipe is very small but has a lot of accommodations to choose from. We liked the Idyllic because it was on a very nice beach, two wonderful pools, bar access from one of the pools, good food options, excellent breakfast buffet, friendly staff, and nice clean rooms.

The hotel had construction during our stay, including on the weekend with the loud grinding and banging noise by swimming pool and the beach where most people were trying to relax. And the smell of burning metal. It was horrible to have to deal with it especially when we were on vacation. There was no posting about the construction on the website when we booked it.

We just spent a week at Idyllic and had a wonderful time. The gardens are wonderfully landscaped with 2 pools to choose from. We had a room on the second floor looking towards reception. The one drawback is that none of the rooms have privacy/sheer curtains, so you are stuck either having blockout curtains drawn all day or having everyone looking in on you. The bed was on the hard side for us, pillows also firm and high. The hotel is right at one end of sunrise beach which means you don’t have all the long tail boats parked right in front of you, although it’s a coral beach so it can be rough on your feet. The snorkelling off the house reef is one of the best ones we’ve seen.

Breakfast buffet was decent. The selection is not huge, but a lot of the hot items are changed daily. There is a lovely chicken noodle bar and also roti station.

The wifi was pretty patchy and slow throughout the property. Staff are polite and courteous, we had an issue with very noisy neighbours and asked to change rooms the next morning which was done promptly with no questions. There is a bit of reno going on throughout, so lounging by the beach will be quite noisey, it looks like they should be done by Xmas. There is only 1 shuttle a day at 6pm to walking street, but it’s literally 5 minutes on foot to reach the top of the section.

Well maintained place with nice staff. The service could be better, there are really, lots of mosquitos so make sure to bring mosquito repellent. The wifi was lost because of rain on the first night and never fixed till we checked out. And they gave a coupon that can’t be used when we're paying but must be redeemed when we're ordering which we weren’t informed about and seems inefficient. The breakfast was alright and the food at the restaurant was nice.

We enjoyed our stay at the Idliyic, 2 adults and our 9 yr old. We had a room overlooking the pool (not the main pool and beach). It was lovely and spacious, and suited our r family perfectly.

The pools were lovely, we all loved the swim up bar. Food was amazing and only a little more expensive than places to eat outside the hotel. We always made breakfast (which is unheard off) , lunch was amazing and we went to the seafood bbq on the beach.

I would def stay here again, although felt the hotel is getting a little tired. But like I said I would stay again in a heart beat.

Location on the island was fab, beach was fab, hotel staff were amazing.

We had a couple of issues in our room, our air conditioning stopped working during the night (the workmen were at our room within 5mins), they couldn’t fix the problems and within 15 mins of reporting the issue, we were being offered another room for the night, whilst the issue was resolved. It was and were back in at 10am the next day.

We couldn’t fault the hotel or staff, we loved it and hopefully we will return soon to the idyllic and Koh Lipe.

Everything was perfect! They made everything so easy from the moment we stepped off the pier we were greeted with hotel crew asking which hotel we were staying at. The man from Idyllic escorted us to his tuk tuk carrying 2 of our large pieces of luggage by hand. We did not arrange for any transportation, it was simply provided without having to request it. Once we arrived we were greeted by welcoming staff members with delicious cold beverages and a nice young lady who I believe might’ve been hotel manager. She helped us with every issue/concern/question we had in the most welcoming manner. What stood out to me was how genuine and sincere the staff was with ensuring a perfect stay for us. They arranged every pick up and drop off for taxis and booked a long tail boat tour on the same day without any hiccups. Aside from their glowing customer service, the hotel amenities impressed me. They offer free kayaks and snorkel gear for the first hour and charge a small fee after that. There are sunbeds available with umbrellas set up directly in front of the beach. Another big perk was that the beachfront to Idyllic was wide open without the congestion of any boats (which is nice because sunrise beach can become quite crowded with boats going in and out). Our room itself was pristine and cleaned to perfection every day. And last but definitely not least, their continental breakfast is fit for royalty. It may be the best breakfast I’ve ever experienced. Thanks so much Idyllic!!!

Unimpressive and disappointing! Stay at the Mali Resort (Sunrise Beach).

This is the first time we have stayed at a “resort” and left so disappointed. The room was clean. The bed, however, was as hard as a rock. The room was sparsely furnished. The “partial ocean view” from the room was very partial and not worth paying extra for. In fact, nothing we experienced at the Idyllic Concept justified what we paid for the room. When we checked out we were asked how our stay was. Before we could respond, however, the attendant (Jay) turned to deal with another guest. Pretty well summed up our treatment during our stay.

The grounds were poorly kept. Cigarette butts littered the dead grass in the area across from the pool. We even saw dog feces in one spot. The pool was clean in the morning, but by mid afternoon the water became cloudy and sludge collected around the edge. We have always wondered about pools with swim up bars. People stay at the bar in the water for hours without moving. This pool was small for one with a swim up bar.

The service at the restaurant was just plain horrible. Tipping did not seem to help improve the situation. For the most part we found the staff unfriendly. There were exceptions, however, and some staff would smile or say “hello.

The two upsides we found were that the beach out front has fewer long-tail boats tied up in the water, and the breakfast buffet had a wide range of choices available.

It’s our first time on the island and I did a lot of research and found this hotel the best in our price range.
I loved almost everything except the shower situation.
Turning on the small shower was a bit of a pain, as soon as you turned the water on it would go everywhere!
One thing I found really annoyed and dangerous as the floor was very slippery.
I understand I’m not the tallest person but the shower head was most annoying thing I found overall.
Wasting a lot of small towels to clean all the water off the floor.

Drinks ok
There another hotel down the beach on the left call coast away, the cocktails are amazing! And happy hour is even better.
Overall I’d definitely come back
The beach is beautiful thankfully they do not have lots of long boat out side on their side of the beach.
The sea is incredible!
Even though I did get bitten by a fish! Yes you’re reading it right.
Another person staying at the hotel also got bitten. Just be careful.
Koh Lipe is a beautiful island and so is this hotel
Not great if you’re disabled or unable to do a lot of stairs.

The view from the room is splendid and hotel staff are greatly helpful. The beach iin front of the hotel is so beautiful with white sand. We can walk to Main Street called by “Walking Street” in 5 min and it’s very convenient to enjoy lunch, dinner and shopping. We will return this hotel again.

Was extremely grateful that the hotel granted us with a 1 day delay in arrival without penalty due to a flight delay.
The hotel has so much potential waiting to be unleashed. I am writing this as I sincerely hope to see Idyllic's potential maximised. Amazing seaview, beautiful hotel facade, proximity to nice corals, free kayak for hotel guests, spacious rooms are great plus points. Everyone was hospitable especially \"Boom\" who was featured as the fire dance performer in the hotel video. He chatted briefly with us, telling us where we can go and recommened drinks at the hotel bar.
However, the upkeeping of the hotel requires continuous effort. It needs to come from the top. While the rooms are nicely appointed and designed, they arent properly maintained and my I-comfy which cost approx SGD$260/night after tax looking tired. There were dark mould on the sealant of sink, edges of bathroom floor, rust on shower head holder, rusty sink stopper, signs of leaks that might have been fixed but not painted over etc. We were there for 4 days 3 nights and perhaps their hotel GM needs to walk the grounds more often to find out about their stay. A personalised welcome note and drink would have been nice touch points if it has aspiration to be one of the top hotel in Koh Lipe.

This resort could be really great, and probably will be, once it’s totally completed. There was a lot of construction going on around the property, which was a little messy and loud. They seem to focus a lot on the look of the resort, rather than the functionality. For example, the shower sprays all over the bathroom when you use it. I also fell down on one of the decks because it was wet, so i recommend finding flooring with a little more traction. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the beach front was beautiful.

My hubby and I stayed at Idyllic Concept for 1 night... our stay was extremely last minute having booked the ferry to koh lipe the day before. We were unexpectantly welcomed at the docking point on the beach and assised to the hotel by a fun motorbike with sidecar. We were greated with a friendly smile and cool drink on arrival and proceeded to what can only be described as an amazing beachfront location. Everything was beautiful!!! from the amazing villa, breakfast, beachfront ocation with snorkelling. they even helped us change our ferry ticket so we could stay longer. loved Koh Lipe and Idyllic Concept and we will be back!!

Lovely hotel in a chalet overlooking the beach. Paradise! There are building works away from the beach which did not disturb me but could affect others. People with mobility problems may have difficulties. Also decking around the pool constantly covered in puddles. Can be very slippy. Lovely, helpful staff especially Von. Gorgeous food. One of the best chefs ever! Lovely breakfasts. Only problem no food after 9.30pm when everything closes. Still a great holiday.

One of the better resorts around. Could have been better if we were told that there's construction and renovation works within the resort. Quite noisy and dusty at times. We also paid to join the BBQ seafood dinner at 850baht per pax, which was affected by the rain. Although the weather was not within the hotel's control, it would be good if the hotel had some service recovery like discounts or free drinks given that guests did not get to dine on the beach or enjoy the beach activities as promised.

Overall, it is one of the most modern accom on Sunrise beach. The room don't look as new as the pictures and the water pressure coming out from the shower head can be quite frustrating at certain times of the day. But still, I think this is a nice place to stay. Staff were friendly and the beach is just less than a minute walk from my room.

Stayed here for 4 nights and loved it. The communication before our arrival was helpful, and they arranged a free pick up on motorbike for us from Pattaya beach. ~
We arrived at the back entrance of the hotel and were a little concerned as there is a lot of building and renovation work going on, but we were escorted down the stairs towards the beach and no noise could be heard. We opted for a garden view room, which was set just behind the beach front, and was quiet and private.
Staff were friendly and helpful thoughout our stay.
Breakfast was wonderful! Great selection on offer.
Room was clean, comfortable and had an indoor and outdoor shower which was really nice.
Pool with pool bar was wonderful too. Plenty of sunloungers available on the beach.
Price was a little more than we would usually spend on a hotel stay, however it was worth every ringgit!
Overall a fantastic stay, highly recommended.

positives: good location, very spacious room,nice balcony, nice pool, pool bar,
negatives: loads of stairs up to the room( obvs not if u pay for beach front) ,
room-no hangers/hooks, bad design for the shower/sink, tho its had a couch on the balcony n in the room-both not confortable, the lights by the bed can be both on or both off, so that can be a negative..
poor breakfast-the only thing the make nice is eggs, so i guess thats the main thing.
not enough sun beds when busy ,
food in the restuarnat-just ok,to expensive for what it is,really worth walking few mins for great restaurants n bars!
overall nice resort, but just becose at the mom thers not much competition, id say when they finnsih building and get more experience this will be great. :)

Ok but not a 4 star hotel

On arrival you can see the hotel still has construction everywhere. It was not causing any noise but visually unpleasant. The hotel is located at the very end of the beach. The sand is not as fine as the middle part of the beach. Room was okay but cleaner had forgotten to grab a used plate (welcome cake from the hotel) so we had ants in the room after a day of snorkelling... Bedding was damp so the sleep was not very good.

Restaurant is overpriced because it charges 10% service AND 7% VAT which we never have elsewhere in our trip! Food was ok but considering how much we paid it really didn't worth it.

We can feel what style/atmosphere the hotel is trying to create but it is not ready in almost every aspect if you look into the details.

Probably one of the nicest luxury resorts on the island. The rooms and location have more potential though. With some quick fixes the rooms can be made up to date again, and from there on it’s maintenance (calcium deposits clogging the shower heads, torn lamp shades, curtains rails hanging loose). Details which make a big difference when entering the higher price range. The staff took our complaint seriously and acted within their powers to make our stay pleasant.
The swimming pool is nice and the beach is only 20 meters away.
A hotel taxi boat comes to pick you up at Pattaya beach (high season) and drops you off at the hotel. This is good as the journey over the island’s roads aren’t half as nice. The staff is really helpful and carries the luggage from the beach to the room.
Breakfast is good and has quite a few options, unfortunately some of the warm food is served either cold or lukewarm. The fresh juices are tasty and the homemade yoghurt is nice as well.

Clean, friendly, overall nice stay

We really liked staying here. The hotel was clean and close to everything (then again, the whole island is tiny so everything is close). Lovely beach next to crystal clear waters and a decent free breakfast. I'm 90% sure we booked the jungle room suites; if you book here, be sure to see if you can get closer to the pool/beach. Our room was a bit of a walk (5m) to the pool with many stairs and it was extremely slippery when it rained. We were also close to the new construction which wasn't ideal- luckily we were up early enough the noise didn't bother us, but if you like to sleep in, maybe ask for a room away from the noise. The power shuts off for about 5m twice a day when they switch generators, but we were gone for most of the times that happened. We also had one night when it was only brown gross water coming out of the skin; turns out they switched pipes of something in the middle of the night and it took a while to fix. Not a big deal, especially when you remember you're on an island and it's a super small area, but something to watch out for. It did seem like this place was the more modern from other hotels.
The staff was also very kind and helpful and they offer free pick up and drop off from the boats.

Unforgettable memory on bad low season

We stayed 3 nights at Koh Lipe in August. It was sunny a few hours per day even in low season. The speedboat was deadly bumped on and off for 60-90 min (my 1 y/o baby luckily survived) and I would never recommend to visit there in this season. Anyway, the ocean was transparent and beautiful on fine weather and we felt so good. We rented a snorkel set for adults and kid at the hotel and encountered lots of fish. The hotel food was ok, not thumb-up, reasonable as remote island. Staffs were friendly and kind, but they did not clean the room (i-Luxury) well each day. We found a cockroach and a centipede after room make-up. Again, anyway, it was not bad overall. We reached a tasty and cheap local Thai restaurant \"Sunrise Beach\" and had dinner every night. We also explored a local flood on the road, took a local taxi travelling around the island, tasted a yummy durian, etc. We should go and visit there again, maybe a different hotel...

Many of the features of this hotel draw the guest to book it. However, the hotel needs maintenance to improve it's image. Room lighting needs repairs, A/C needs improvements, guest rooms need sound proofing.
Minimal amenities, service staff not well trained nor anticipate needs of guests. Hotel restaurant below par compared to others in the area

Great hotel with a great spot on beach

Fantastic hotel, nice room and amenities. The only downside is the poor wifi. Love the coffee and fresh juices during breakfast. Nice sea facing pool with bar. Seat in pool is a little far from bar counter though. Will be great if there is a side table and chair in room. I don't have a place to put my plate when I ordered room service. Toilet can be improved with towel racks or hook. Overall experience is good with this hotel.

Best hotel on Sunrise Beach!

My wife and I recently stayed at the hotel in an i-Sea Bugalow and overall are incredibly happy with our choice to stay there. As far as hotels go on Sunrise beach, I'd rank this at the top and we are a bit finicky coming from living in Santa Monica, CA. Here's the run down:

Style: A+
The rooms are dope! Very modern and the nicest looking on sunrise beach. The restaurant and pool too!

Location: A
For being on Sunrise beach, this is still very close to the Walking Street (10 min walk) and very convient all the way around. Plus the sunrises are amazing. Also, it's away from the thick of sunrise beach where all the long boats park. We had an unobstructed view and swimming area the whole time. Also, it has the nicest beach front in way of lounge chairs / umberallas.

Staff: A+
Super friendly and happy to help at all times. Felt like the people weren't burnt out by tourist and generally very happy. They helped with boat transfers and made everything easy.

Food: B+ / A-
Nice mix of Thai and western style dishes. The plating of each dish was exceptional and sometimes out did the taste. Breakfast buffet each morning was on point though!!

Cleanliness: A+
The entire hotel was spotless and they take great care.

Vibe: B
This is very subjective, of course. I had hopped for more of a vibe in the common areas like the pool and restaurant. They could have used some good music playing, but didn't have any. That's just me though.

If we go back to Koh Lipe we will definitely stay here.

Had my great vacation at Koh Lipe with 2 nights stayed at the resort. within walking distance to Walking Street took about 10 to 15mins, they provided free shuttle transfer for check in and check out as well. Reply email lightning fast this the great point I like it! We also can canoeing with free of charge. Located at Sunrise beach as known as the best beach in Koh Lipe :) Beach front less Long Tail Boat as compared to other beach front resort with full of long tail boats which a little annoying.

Idyllic concept is just that - a concept. The concept itself is a good one but poorly executed. For example floor to ceiling windows in the bedroom that looks into the courtyard - as do your neighbours so in the end you never keep the blinds open because they can see EVERYTHING. The resort has a beautiful outdoor spa/massage space that overlooks the ocean BUT it is next to an industrial size air conditioner that completely kills the vibe.

One thing that cannot be faulted is the staff. They are absolutely fantastic!

When I arrived the hotel only we found out the room show in the pic and the real room are different. The hotel Incharge told us they actually got few types of I luxury room which it not stated clearly when booking. And they told us in order to have the type of room which I saw in Expedia it need to request before booking. How do we know?it not stated at all in Expedia.
Beside that the bathtub was dirty when we entered the room.
After we complaint as it really not fair as we do not know we need to request upfront for pool view room. Luckily there had a room just check out and we managed to change to that room.but it's not the end yet, after we entered to the new room then we found crocscoach in the room. It's kinda disappointed for our honeymoon trip.

A lot of construction happening. We had to enter and leave through the construction.
The AC was leaking into the bed - the hotel staff tried several times to fix it with no effect. No apology or attempt to provide an alternative room (hotel was not full at the time).
Poorly maintained grounds and facilities.
Vastly overpriced for what you get.

Great hotel but in need of refurbishment the pool. Sun beds ver uncomfortable. Staff very friendly. Koh lipe is beautiful but it will get destroyed if they don't do something regarding the waste. There is rubbish everywhere and the sea is getting dirty and destroyed. I went diving and picked up bottles and cans of beer between the coral. I hope the do something about this.

My friend's family and my family stayed in Idyllic for 5 nights. It's wonderful. You can see lots of Nemo when swim several meters from the beach. The staff are very kind and helpful. You can get what you want in a short time. I'm sure I'll be back.
