Great location, so I guess that’s what you’re paying for but for how much I paid I expected so much more. I’ve had much cheaper and more comfortable stays in Banff. This room was tiny, old and clearly not well-maintained. Everything was faded and scuffed. None of the outlets on the nightstand worked, so we had to unplug lamps to charge our electronics. Even their robes were falling apart. I’ve never seen hotel robes in that condition, especially not for $700 a night. Besides the location, the only good part of our stay were the staff who were all lovely and helpful. They even set up a little birthday message for my partner in our room and left us a chocolate bar. That was very kind and we appreciated it a lot, but the state of the room was very disappointing for us.

If you want to be in the heart of Banff this is the place to be. Easy stroll to just about everything. The rooftop hot tub was fun. It’s a great way to take in the mountain views. Our room was neat as pin and comfortable.

Friendly staff, clean hotel, in a great location central to restaurants and shopping. The setting and views are absolutely gorgeous. Only downer was one of the hot tubs didn’t work, and the other one was not very hot. We asked a staff member and we were told it can only be set to 86 degrees.

On the main street with parking behind. According the email the property sent to me, the parking is free from June to Sept. But they charged me $10 per day while our stay was June 3 to 5. Shortly got into the room, we notice that the heating/air conditioning system makes consistent noise, like harmer keep hitting a thing. We called front desk and the maintenance staff came. He opened the system and work on it for more than half hour and couldn't repair it. He went down to talk to front desk and after a long wait, front desk called us to move to another room. We booked room with king size bed and there is enough space to walk around. They moved us to a room with 2 queen beds. The spare space is very limited. It wasted us more than 2 hours to wait for their staffs to work on the issue, and we unpacked, then packed and unpacked again for our things. Moved into new room, we noticed the hot water faucet on basin is not working. Called front desk and asked them to fix it the next day. But the next evening, it is not fixed. The room was not cleaned. My husband went down to talk to front desk. They said the maintenance staff forgot about it. And they do not clean room during guset stay. The guests need to put note if they need new towels. The front desk should have told us about this when we check-in. We had to wait for the new towels to have shower.

I was there for a Conference at the Banff Springs Spouse couldn't come so I wanted to stay somewhere more reasonably priced. there is a bus system called Roam that stops across the street. So I left my car parked for the 3 days and took the bus. The front counter staff even gave me bus tickets. Very nice hotel in the middle of Banff

Location is perfect. Staff was very professional, cheerful and wanting to help. The restaurant was amazing, and the accommodations were clean and of good quality. The rooftop hot tubs were in a bad state of repair. Making them a feature on the webpage is a big mistake. They were the only substandard feature in the hotel. Everything else's was top drawer. I'd definitely go again. Parking was no problem on the first week of May.

At first we were worried about parking because we called ahead of time to look into it but they have a first come first served basis for parking. Their parking is somewhat limited and staff stated that their overflow parking was actually public parking which is $12 per hour from 8am-8pm. When we arrived, however, there was enough parking and staff let us keep our parking spot after check out so we could walk around the main street till we left the park.

Rooms were very clean and welcoming. The bathrooms included shampoo and conditioner from Rocky Mountain Soap Co. which had a shop down the street. The rooftop hot tub was lovely and not crowded.

Our room was located right above a bar so there were people shouting loudly every 10-15 minutes from 11:30pm-1:00am. If booking, I would request a room away from the main street bar as it was very loud even with windows closed.

Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay again, knowing now to request a room further away from the bar.

Great central location close to the hub for shuttles, rental equipment, shopping and restaurants. We used the ski storage and caught our Sunshine shuttle behind the hotel. Rented skis basically across the street. Brazen provided a nice meal and the staff were great hosts. The main street is hopping well into the evening so be prepared for a little noise. We used the hot tub, but the lounge was not open when we visited. Overall it was a good spot for an active vacation.

The hotel is starting to show signs of use- chipped walls, dust, broken blinds, etc. the bed was comfy- however there were a few stains on the blanket and sheets. There was only one hot tub that was functional for our entire 5 day stay. I will say the rooms are small, and it seems they have to “upgrade” rooms such as suites. The staff are EXCELLENT both times I called the front desk for extra things they were brought to my room within 10 minutes. The location is also a highlight!

Cons:
Come here if you want to wake up with a broken neck. Booked a king bed, and received cushion sized pillows - something I’ve never seen before. I called to asked for normal pillows and they said they have none. Already our night went terrible without good sleep.

Has only two small outdoor hot tubs of which one was broken and I received an email one day before our stay informing us. Went upstairs to use it and there were already 10 people crammed into it. Don’t book this hotel if you want to value that as an experience.

Expect a bad view (the building wraps around itself) unless you pay extra.

Only one of the two hot tubs were working, and they are small and can only sit 8. The walls were thin and you can easily hear people in the streets. The hotel did provide ear plugs. Parking wasn't great.

People were out yelling and partying on the Banff Ave until 1am (thus the ear plugs provided by the hotel left in your room). Next time we stay we will request a room on the parking lot side. We lreally liked our stay, minus noise at night. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Recently spent a night at the Mount Royal Hotel. The location is fantastic. There are multiple restaurants, pubs, and shops within a couple of blocks. The room was clean and the staff friendly. The rooftop hot tubs have a great view of the mountains.
If you want to be near the action and don’t mind a little noise I would highly recommend.

We had a lovely staff trip to the Mount Royal! Rooms were clean & comfortable/ updated and the location was fantastic. So many restaurants, shops and local entertainment outside our door. The only thing that was dissapointing was that only 4 people were aloud in the hot tub at a time, when there's clearly enough room for more. We did have a larger group so we all went in shifts but the common area attached made for a great communal space to lounge and enjoy warmth while we waited.
Our group of 15 also enjoyed a team dinner at Brazen and WOW what an experience! Great service, great food, great atmosphere.

I stayed here for five nights while visiting Banff. The location is excellent and makes it easy to explore the town on foot. The amenities in the room were adequate, with working towels, safe, fridge, and kettle. Staff were friendly on the first evening, and overall the stay was acceptable, but several issues affected the experience, especially given the price.
The room itself felt mediocre. The electrical outlets at the nightstand did not work properly. Maintenance briefly looked at the issue but did not bring tools and advised they could not fix it. Upon arrival, the bed sheets and pillowcases had visible stains. We requested cleaning twice during our stay. The first time, the sheets we placed on the floor were put back on the bed without being changed. The second request was eventually handled and the sheets were replaced. The bathroom was not properly cleaned during the stay, with the shower and sink remaining dirty, and toilet paper was not restocked unless we called, at which point only one roll was provided.
The room fan was quite loud, which made sleeping difficult unless kept on a low setting. While this may be expected in an older building, it still impacted comfort. Parking was also challenging, with limited scattered spots that required checking frequently after leaving with the car.
The property listing mentions a shuttle bus, but this was not directly offered. Staff explained they could only suggest third-party providers rather than arrange transportation, which
