The hotel was ok for the price. The room was descent, the staff were really nice, specially Catarina who did an amazing job in greeting and attending to not only to us but to everyone we saw going for breakfast. Breakfast was good. The only thing I really did not like about my stay was that I had to take two elevators to my room. First an elevator, which I have to mention, Is an old elevator that works with ten euro coins. The first elevator only went up to the 4th flour, from there we enter the reception walked through to the back of the hotel and had to take an another very small lift elevator that didn’t really worked very to our room which was also like the fourth floor. It was really weird. It made me nervous every time I had to take it. The hotel is only a floor in a very big building, The Galleria Umberto. We also had a medical clinic a floor below us which we had to go across 2 times because the lift elevator was not working. Not my favorite. I would not stay in this hotel again

The hotel was in a beautiful galleria in centre of a busy shopping/food area. even though it was stunning architecture, at night the galleria had lots of homeless people in cardboard box homes. Staff at hotel were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fine, just basic, but we knew it was. Room was clean and up to standard. everything was walkable to shops and dining.

The area around the galleria is a beautiful, architecturally stunning. The hotel staff was nice and we received a bottle of champagne on arrival. However it was difficult to access the hotel from the street. When we first arrived we had taken the ferry into the Port of Naples, there was not a Porter at the ferry or any clear instructions on how to get to the hotel. When we arrived to the hotel we had to bring multiple suitcases up a large staircase. I had asked the front desk for help but there’s only one person there so they could not leave or help us and additionally said that this service they normally offer. I think for any access points are difficult to bring up bags to the hotel and then subsequently to your room and a small elevator. They really need to have additional concierge services or porters to help bring luggage up. Also you have to use a little coin to operate the elevator which the front desk does give you but this was not told to us.

In order to get in and out of the gate you have to press a certain button, again this is not that difficult but no one explained this to us at the front desk at time of arrival

My arrival to this hotel was tragic. My plane was Kate and I came after 12am. Taxi driver threw me out and said - this hotel. But there was no any sign.
It was a shopping mall that was now dark, with closed shops, homeless people lying around with horrifying dogs. I went hysterical. Eventually someone helped me to give this hidden hotel. I think thrybfjoujd advised detailed hiccup find them. But they did not.
The room was nice, the staff was very helpful. I did not like the high bath instead of a shower. It was hard to climb into it. It was a struggle . But the air condition was working well. there was a tea kettle, nice bed, room cleaned every day, good location, after you know how to find the place. So I will probably come back!

A very uniquely decorated hotel in a beautiful historical building. Hotel is on the fourth floor accessible through a security gate from the main mall. We had the junior suite which was renovated huge also with a very new contemporary bathroom with a whirlpool. Location is very convenient with access to lots of restaurants and shopping. And close to the meeting point for the hop on off sightseeing bus tours. The staff was super friendly and helpful. There is no parking on site. You have to park at nearby indoor parking lots at a cost of 35 to 50 euros.

Great location, beautiful rooms!

The location of the Art Resort Galleria is excellent, right on Via Toledo - a busy shopping area with plenty of sides streets with dining options. We felt very safe, there was always police presence around the area and it is very walkable. It is also right by the port, so access to the ferry over to Sorrento is very convenient. Taxis are also available directly outside the hotel if you need to go anywhere else, and was very quick to the train station.

The room itself was very beautiful and well appointed. One thing to be aware of - our shower had a large step up and over the tub to enter, which also meant a large step over the tub and down to the floor to exit. The breakfast was not worth the 12euro, but was convenient for a quick stop. There are plenty of coffee/pastry places (and a McDonalds) directly downstairs.

We had difficulty finding the entrance upon arrival, it is not highly visibly marked as it is in the mall, and the lobby is not on the ground floor. Make sure you know where it is. The elevator is also very small and very slow.

Loved the location, room was clean, bed was comfortable and location is great for the Spanish quarter. Being in the actual Galleria is such a stunning setting. The hotel sign could be a bit bigger as walked past it a few times as it was Sunday and very business with people. I ended up finding by walking up an alleyway outside the galleria which had some interesting smells going on. However, never had to use that entrance as could see the other gate from the inside. Like a few cities, be prepared for unfortunate homeless people who use the Galleria at night for roof over their heads. They never bothered us and just want a place to sleep and would be gone if you get up late

We really enjoyed our stay at the Galleria Umberto. We were worried that we would have to lug our luggage around for a few hours before check in as we got to Naples at 10 and didn’t have check in until 2:00 PM, but they were great and held our luggage for us while we explored the local area. The staff was great!

This is a really cool hotel. The rooms are like a museum, stylized gilded furniture, a huge canopy bed, balcony, and great 24 hour front desk service.

Arrival by car is tricky, (nowhere to pull up to) but it can be done with the staff's help, and they help you find nearby (paid) parking. It is located within a traditional shopping center on the 4th floor which is just a few steps away from one of Naples' best walking streets with amazing restaurants and shops, and the Spanish Quarter. We would absolutely stay there again!

This hotel is in a great location, right on the outskirts of the Spanish quarter and close to a few metro stations and the port so you can get around very easily! The room was a bit tired, fittings in the shower coming off, but really appreciated the double glazing as Naples is a loud city! Lovely balcony looking out onto the street of Naples.

Only unfortunate incident was that when we came back from a day out, our balcony door had been left open from what we assume was the servicing staff, as we checked everything was locked upon leaving. When I told the staff about this on checkout, they just replied with 'ok' rather than any sort of apology which we found very disappointing.

Great location, wouldn't stay again.

Where to start? The rooms are shown with lovely high ceilings and curtained windows. Our was on the third floor and the curtains covered brick walls. No opening windows. No windows. We we off season, luckily, as the air con didn't work. The room was like an oven. The fridge was noisy all night with only three cans of soft drink provided. The toilet seat was broken, which will amusing describing to the front desk, had nothing done about it in the four days we were there. Breakfast at €11 is a rip off, and frankly dangerous. One platter of sliced hard-boiled egga had small fruit flies all over it. The bed was ridiculously hard. Only two pillows provided, and both were paper thin. The iron they provided fused and blew the trip out taking out all the power sockets in the room. There is no bar, even though they advertise one.
The worst hotel experience I can remember in a very long time.

First, let me say that the people working at the hotel were fabulous. With the exception of the young lady working in the breakfast room one morning, every employee I met was friendly and more than willing to help. If the elevator and gate in the galleria had been working, this would have been a five-star hotel. But unfortunately when I was there the elevator was out of service and you had to use the elevator in an adjacent building. To do that, you had to walk through an alleyway littered with the bodies of homeless men and their dogs who had relieved themselves on the walkway and the walls. It just felt unsafe to me, a woman traveling alone. Also, Galleria Umberto has alas seen its better days from quite a distance. It is not being maintained well, which is unfortunate since it used to be quite upscale and wonderful. Cleanliness alone would help a great deal. But, again, as for the people working at the hotel, I simply cannot say enough good things. The breakfast, too, by the way, was exceptional - way more than I could ever eat and way above what I've found in other hotels during my travels.

Perfect location to explore Naples. A hidden gem!

Every single staff member went above and beyond for me. As a women travelling alone, they made sure I was picked up from airport, even after flight delays. They helped me navigate the city and organised transport when needed. Room was spacious, comfortable and has eveningypu could need. Breakfast was a lovely selection with stunning views of the glass roof of the Galleria. Highly recommend location for San Carlo theatre (directly across the street), the funicular to Castel Elmo (also across the street) and easy access to many sites of Naples.

The room was well appointed and individually styled. Very comfortable with a view over the mall.

The quirky old elevator require ¢10 to operate , and whilst the front desk supplies these,we brought our own.

Our ONLY complaint was the dearth of an ironing board...iron they had...board...not so much.

Staff were fantastic. Breakfast was good. The building that the hotel is in is absolutely gorgeous. The hotel is on the 4th floor. You have to buzz in sometimes if the door downstairs is closed. We chose to walk up the stairs but there is an elevator. I think it costs 10c but the hotel will give you money. It can be a bit noisy in the atrium as it is open all night but not a big deal. Just an amazing location. Restaurants all around block so easy to find food. Take the free walking tour when in Naples.

Hotel was okay for the price i paid for one night. I had to book a hotel in Naples last minute due to a missed connecting flight and missing the last ferry to Capri. I was expecting a little more for the price that I paid. We had a little trouble finding the place as it is inside a building and the entrance is under construction so it was a little difficult finding the entrance. The hotel itself is on the 4th floor, had I known this I wouldn’t have carried my luggage up for 4 flights of stairs and the check in was confusing. The reception is on one floor and the front desk is on another. And not knocking the hotel for this but there was some type of performance going on inside the building that started at 1am and didn’t end until 3 or 4, so sleeping wasn’t the easiest.

Difficult to find if you come at night, you have to buzz through metal gates and go to the 4th floor where no one told us, also organised driver to pick us up from airport and was a no show so had to take a cab which I wanted to avoid given Naples reputation with pickpockets.

Pretty difficult to find even though it is located inside a shopping mall. Nobody, including employees, security & police, had no idea where it was even though it was 20 yards away🙄.
Additionally, i purposely filtered my hotel search results to include free parking & yet still this place showed up. Be advised parking is a major hassle, off site & costs 20-25 euro per nite.
Decent place, good loc., staff was very nice but not sure if I'd use again.

While the antique elevator could be a memorable amenity, it leaves me with a bad taste in that it requires a specific coin (10 cent, no other coins accepted) which I rarely carry, and dislike going to request one at the desk. And the hours that the coin requirement to operate was disabled were not disclosed, a setting I found out about on my day of departure, when it was no longer useful info.

I loved the old style. The only issue is that I paid $140 for a Superior triple room. It was supposed to have a private balcony and a soaking tub with a whirl pool. However I was given A regular Superior. But I was only given a regular room of $126 per ride

The best thing about this hotel was the staff - the two people I dealt with on the reception desk were delightful, with very good English, and they made me feel really at home. I particularly liked being in the arcade, up on the fourth floor, so felt very connected to the city yet very safe, travelling on my own. My room was massive, and a visual feast - the Klimt room with art covering the walls – and I loved the quirky light fittings. Breakfast was something else - I've never had such choice, from hot bacon, mini quiches and pizzas, through all the standard cereal/toast fare to rum babas and tiramisù! Fantastic!

They had a water heater breakdown that took some time to fix. We lost our locker key and had had to pay 40 euro as they do not have electronically controlled locker. The Hotel Art Resort Galleria Umberto I is welcoming, stylish and excellently located. The staff are outstanding; unfailingly friendly and helpful, doing everything they can to make their guests feel welcome and enjoy their stay (bravi tutti!). The rooms are spacious and very attractive (the images on the website are entirely accurate) with large, well-designed en-suite bathrooms (immediate hot water and no problems with pressure), comfortable, large beds and very good house-keeping. The wifi was reliable throughout and the hotel quiet, i.e., good conditions for getting work done for those who need to. The location is excellent; close to major sites, the sea and transport (underground, funicolare, buses, a taxi stand) as well as shopping (Via Chiaia and Via Toledo), all kinds of eateries and a 15-minute walk from the historical centre. There can be some noise in the street during the night from rubbish collections and deliveries - unavoidable so close to shops and restaurants. The breakfast is very generous, features local specialities and there is variety within the offerings every day. It includes pastries and cakes, bread, fresh and dried fruits, fresh and cooked vegetables, cold cuts, meats, cheeses, cereals, milk and yoghurts, sweet spreads, juices and, of course, wonderful coffee. In sum, the hotel is a welcoming haven in a bustling, big city; a perfect basis for a holiday (especially the culture or shopping kind) or business trip.

The hotel is well situated in the city center, close to the main touristic attractions and shops.
It's clean and the staff support us for our needs. The only weak point is the lift of the building that need a coin of 10c to work

HOTEL IS LOCATED IN THE VERY GOOD AREA WITH METRO STATION RIGHT NEXT TO IT AND WALKING DISTANCE TO THE SHIP-CRUISE PIER. EVERYONE WORKING THERE IS SUPER NICE AND PROFESSIONAL AND HELPFUL. ON OTHER HAND ROOMS ARE PRETTY SMALL AND NEED RENOVATION SINCE THIS IS OLD BUILDING.

Great location near cafes tours taxis old sites Gelato shops McDonald's Metro Walkable streets and tour busses to Pompeii. Excellent staff breakfasts, rooms and afternoons pastries .

Stay Here when in Naples

What a great hotel! The staff was wonderful, our room was so comfortable and had a great spot to sit and enjoy a snack and a bottle of wine! I would recommend this lovely hotel in a great location!

Good central location, however very noisy and basic rooms, walls very thin so can hear everything from rooms around you, bathroom very small for a tall person, shower area mouldy. Having travelled to many cities in Italy, would not recommend as a 4 star hotel for the price.
Staff indifferent, cleaner left phone charger in room one day, then took back following day, did leave us thinking what else was took.
