Nice place near to the ocean. The lady working there is very polite and kind. The room has nice balcony view so I was able every morning to greet the sunrise with cup of coffee.

Great Location. DISGUSTING Condition.

Good service and location. Poor condition. The rooms are VERY musty with mold. I found two BIG cockroaches during my 6 day stay. The kitchenette is FABULOUS! It's almost a fair price, considering across the street was about $20 more per night (Roca Mar). Really, all they need to do to VASTLY improve this property are two things: replace the worn and moldy carpet with tile. Replace the disgusting unwashed and HEAVILY WORN and DATED bedspreads. The service lady, Diomira, was very nice. Great location near shops and cafes. Far from Funchal, if that's important to you - but much closer to the airport.

Less time outside more inside

If the canico staff spent as much time looking after inside as they did outside then it would be a completely different experience. While they spent all day every day ensuring the outside was stunning, inside the rooms left a lot to be desired. Think 80s sitcom Duty Free and you will get the decor and that was probably the last time it was decorated. The room was very grubby, mouldy and the lamp shades were disgusting! There was no reception to speak of with the key being left under the matt. Towels were not changed and bed was made rarely. Plus it was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in! All in all very disappointing slight on an otherwise fantastic trip.

I arrived at about 11:00 PM.. A sign at the reception's door let me (and everyone else) know that my key was under the carpet at the door.. My apartment smelled really bad (a mix of mold and cigarettes),. The carpet was filty. The sofa was torned on the side, flity and its mattress totally uncomfortable. A family member who arrived later was unable to sleep on it, and was getting sicker with the smell of the place. On the third day, we saw the maid cleaning the apartment next to us. It was a beautiful one, and we asked if we could take it. That evening, we were able to switch only because no other guests had signed up for it yet. Otherwise, we would have been stuck for 7 other days! Anyway, if anyone gets the type of apartment we got the second time, then they'll get something really good for the price they'll pay.

Canico Bay Club- dated and unstaffed

On arrival there was a note on the door of reception with a list of guests staying over the period of a week with room numbers and the instructions that the key was under the door mat. The apartment had no fridge, which is essential for any stay. I rang the emergency number the next morning to be told the fridge had broken and they would get back to me. No-one did. There was a terrible smell in the apartment which came from two pillows which were black with mildew is the wardrobes. This accom takes your money up front through booking agencies (this was apparent from the list on reception door all the bookings were through agencies) and there is never any one around but a cleaner who only works week-days so no management in sight.

A disappointing holiday in a poor location

I had been really looking forward to my two week summer holiday in Madeira. However, the previous reviews of the Canico Bay Club were misleading. Whilst the apartment was large and clean, the view was appalling. The Royal Orchid took up most of the view and the small square of seaview we had was blighted by local bulders using it as a space to park their digger, truck and a large metal shed that held all their materials. The local bars have no view and no character. The local shop's prices have a 150% plus mark up on the supermarket in Canico. The local so called lovely promenade is a concrete runway surrounded by anodyne hotel blocks. Suffice to say, Canico de Baxio is not a good introduction to Madeira. Also just to say, I left after a week having booked to stay two.

Madeira's best spot

We did the island, all round. This is the best spot for easy access to the city of Funchal and its amenities, access to and from the airport without nuisance, access to all major roads and routes, and a pleasant environment for the evenings. You can visit anywhere on the island within an hour by car, and there is lots to see.

Canico, pronounced caniso, is about 9k from the airport, about ten minutes on the new super-highway. It has many high quality hotels around, for dinners and drinks, with music and facilities.

This apartment block, for that is what it really is, is charming and pleasant, but has recently seen better days: it is a little bit worn, but both scrupulously clean and comfortable all the same. It is situated right opposite the Royal Orchid Hotel, the only means of finding it, save the girl in the local tourist office: she is asked by everyone who has ever booked here.

The local bus takes you right into Funchal, for 1.60 Euros, and it is regular and prompt. It is also quite a ride, if you sit on the drivers side. The markets. the marina, the cafes and bars of Funchal are all excellent.
The other spots on the island are all easily accessed fron Canico.

Do not listen to anyone who says you are too near the airport, as you never hear the planes: they all bank and have short take off and landing.

This is an excellent spot on a beautiful island with the world's second most friendly and courteous people.

Estadia que supera as expectativas!

Nossa estadia superou as expectativas, começando pela localização, fácil acesso do aeroporto, quando chegamos fomos muito bem recebidos pela staff, limpeza e organização do alojamento impecáveis, fácil comunicação quando precisamos com o responsável. A vista é maravilhosa, atravessando a rua já há restaurantes, mercado, locadora de carros, se andar 5 minutos há mais um mercado, pastelaria e restaurantes. A praia fica no máximo 10 minutos andando, mas do apartamento já vê ela, o nascer do sol fica com vista para o alojamento, então acordem cedo para apreciar. Há uma área comum muito gostosa de estar, com espreguiçadeiras, piscina e muita flora. Roupas de cama confortáveis, a cozinha bem equipada com tudo o que precisamos para fazer nossas refeições. Foi muito cômodo e satisfatório estar lá, caso voltemos para Madeira, com certeza iremos voltar a nos hospedar no Caniço e indicaremos aos amigos. Compensa muito o custo benefício, a gente se sentiu em casa por tudo. Obrigada pela hospedagem maravilhosa e o tratamento amável.

Jättetrevlig personal. Vi blev uppgraderade till större lgh. Det enda minuset var att det inte fanns någon fläkt i badrummet vilket gjorde att det luktade väldigt mycket fukt där. Fantastisk utsikt. Lagom många restauranger nära.

Séjour d'une semaine au Canico Bay Club. Les appartements sont très grands avec de beaux balcons vue mer (parfait pour le lever de soleil du matin). Le mobilier est vieillissant mais rien à signaler côté propreté. Les appartements sont bien équipés. Attention nombre limité de places de parking mais stationnement possible à proximité.

部屋はとても広いが、エアコンがないのとバスタブに満たされるまでお湯が出ないのがマイナスポイント。オーナーはタクシーが迷っていたら外まで出てくれて案内してくれた。とても親切。マデイラ全般に言えるが、坂がとても多いので、入り口から部屋までスーツケースを運ぶのがとても大変だった。まあだがとても料金は安いので文句は言えない。

In besseren Tagen ein schönes Objekt in angemessener Lage.
Leider sind diese Tage offensichtlich lange her. Das Appartment war sehr verwohnt und die Ausstattung vollkommen veraltet. Es gab ein großes Problem mit Ameisen in den Zimmern.
Der (kleine) Pool war stets gesäubert und die Aussenanlagen gepflegt.
Parkplätze waren in ausreichender Zahl vorhanden. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, bemüht und hilfsbereit. Der tägl. Zimmerservice zuverlässig und unaufdringlich.

Ik was blij verrast toen wij op locatie aan kwamen. Een klein complex met slechts 10 appartementen welke naar onze mening compleet was ingericht schone kamers die iedere dag werden schoongemaakt. Als ik weer een keer naar Madeira ga, boek ik beslist weer deze locatie. Warm aanbevolen.

Geräumiges Apartment in guter Lage

Das Haus sieht von außen sehr gepflegt aus aber leider ist die Einrichtung in die Jahre kommen. Für unseren Preis war es ok, aber mehr auch nicht. Solche Bettwäsche und Handtücher bietet man eigentlich keinem Gast mehr an. Alle Möbel sind abgewohnt und der Schrank roch so, dass wir ihn lieber offen ließen. Der Kühlschrank war wie das andere Mobiliar auch defekt. Er kühlte wann er wollte und das laute Geräusch war besonders nachts störend.
Schade, denn der Ort ist wirklich sehr schön auch eine schöne Aussicht von Balkon. Wir hatten trotzdem einen sehr schönen Urlaub.
Zu unserer Ankunft war niemand da, der Schlüssel wurde uns hinterlegt das war ok. Kontakt war nur telefonisch oder per Mail möglich (etwas unpersönlich)

casa spaziosa, a circa 10 minuti a piedi da una meravigliosa spiaggia sassosa. Struttura pulita, in ordine: ogni giorno passano per le pulizie generali, il cambio degli asciugamani e il rifacimento del letto. Se necessiti di informazioni e contatti il numero, rispondono nel giro di un'oretta. Piscina piccolina, ma posta in modo da catturare il meno vento possibile (che in quest'isola non manca mai). Unica scomodità è un po' il parcheggio, visto che la struttura dispone di 3 parcheggi riservati, ma che non bastano quasi mai. L'alternativa è parcheggiare in strada nei parcheggi lì vicino (non a pagamento), facendo qualche minuto di strada a piedi. Molto cordiale e gentile la signora che gestisce la pulizia delle camere, ti fa sentire molto a tuo agio. Struttura consigliata!!!

Tutto bene ma i petali di rosa e la moquette...

Arrivati e ripartiti ad orari abbastanza esterni, per non dire \"estremi\" abbiamo incontrato la receptionist solo 1 volta, il secondo giorni, la moquette della camera completamente lisa e i petali di rosa sparsi in bagno non hanno certo aiutato ..... Ma la sistemazione è ok.
Molto comodo il parcheggio riservato sul lato posteriore, vicinissimo al supermercato e a 3 ristoranti

Parkplatz für Mietwagen. Gegenüber Mietstation.

Konden al om 12 uur inchecken.Erg rustig gelegen met vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel.Bediening tv. liep moeilijk,maar ging na enig proberen toch goed..Parkerrgelegenheid voor 3 auto's.De rest in de straat.

On a cherché mais aucun point positif pour ces apparts...
- La pression de l'eau de la douche est trop faible
- Le chauffe-eau ne fait que 25L ! Merci les douches froides !
- Service de ménage inexistant le week-end et tout juste potable la semaine (serviettes mises à sécher sur les vieux fauteuils sales par la femme de chambre - pas du tout hygiénique)
- Sol non nettoyé !
- TV du siècle dernier : cathodique avec image scintillante et bourdonnements
- Rideaux vieillissants (sûrement d'origine et jamais lavés), et troués. Pas de présence de volets ! Uniquement des rideaux qui laissent passer la lumière (réveillés donc à 6h30 tous les jours)
- Personne à la réception pour nous accueillir, une feuille est laissée pour information afin de connaître son numéro de chambre ... La clé a été laissée, dehors, au pied de la porte de \"l'appart\".
- Chambre vendue pour 81m2 ... Elle fait 40m2 grand maximum : ARNAQUE !
- Le compteur électrique est bruyant et contre le mur de la chambre
- Vaisselles très pauvre ... 1 seul verre, pas de casserole ni de passoire. Seulement une poêle et un fait-tout.
- Isolation phonique entre les appartements inexistante ! On entend les voisins parler.
- Présence de fourmis dans les placards
- Le chien du voisin aboie jusqu'à 22h tous les soirs
- Certaines lumières ne fonctionnent pas (50%)

=> LAMENTABLE !

Seul point positif : la localisation. Proche de l'océan et pleins de bons petits restaurants dans la rue juste en face !

Nettes Hotel mit Meer Blick

Nette Lage, große Zimmer, großer Balkon.

Kuechen Ausstattung sehr dürftig. Toilette war verstopft. Deckel defekt.
Küchen Schaben in Toilette und Küche.
Wasser reichte für einmal duschen. Dann war es kalt.

Ansonsten sauber. Betten wurden jeden morgen gemacht.
Gesaugt und Abfall entsorgt ebenfalls.

Große und saubere Apartments die täglich aufgeräumt werden. Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr nett.
Das Gebäude liegt in guter Lage, von Canico aus lässt sich die Insel gut erkunden. Im Ort selbst geht es ruhig zu.

Kleinschalig appartementencomplex in rustige buurt

Onvoldoende warm water om bad te vullen, grootste minpunt. Wel aangegeven bij schoonmaakster/receptioniste, maar kon blijkbaar niet verholpen worden.
Keukeninventaris matig maar wel bruikbaar.
De hele week een mierenspoor van vloer naar plafond. Werd niets aan gedaan.
Een paar groet kakkerlakken in de kamer (weliswaar dood), nadat de periode ervoor met pesticiden waas gespoten.
Afvalbak had geen deksel, minpunt met het oog op aanwezig ongedierte en werd ook niet elke dag geleegd, terwijl er wel een keuken in het appartement zit.
Niet ingecheckt bij aankomst (sleutel onder de mat) en ook niet uitgecheckt bij vertrek (sleutel door open badkamerraam naar binnen gooien). In weekend geen personeel aanwezig. Wel telefoonnummer voor geval dat.
Veel lawaai van bovenburen door schuiven van stoelen etc., net alsof daar plavuizen op de vloer lagen terwijl wij tapijt hadden.

La limpieza en este hotel brilla por ausencia. Así como su personal. Durante los siete días de estancia nadie en recepción, sólo nos cruzamos de lunes a viernes con la chica de la limpieza, porque el fin de semana no te hacen el cuarto. Aunque durante la semana tampoco hacen mucho. Llegamos el primer día y las sábanas de la cama estaban sin planchar, pedimos para cambiar las toallas al día siguiente y dijeron que no tenían lavandería y tuvimos que usar las toallas otra vez y el fin de semana ya no te las cambian tampoco. El suelo de la minicocina estaba pegajoso que daba asco, así como el tapizado de las sillas y sillones. Nos pusieron tres pastillas de jabón y nunca más repusieron. Desde luego no lo recomiendo, especialmente por la limpieza ausente, y he estado en muchos hoteles.

Arrivati alle 1.00 am trovavo la reception chiusa con un numero di telefono.Telefono e trovo una ragazza gentile che arriva dopo 10 minuti dicendomi che la camera aveva dei problemi e per due notti avrei dormito in un altro hotel.Mi accompagnava in questo hotel a 10 km di distanza senza piscina e wi-fi (come da me richiesto) in mezzo a un bosco.Gli unici clienti erano un coppia di tedeschi. Rimaniamo li per tre notti e finalmente andiamo nell' hotel richiesto. La posizione è carina e soleggiata (in quella precedente tutte le mattine pioveva e non faceva caldo). Il wi-fi funzionava benissimo e la piscina era come nelle foto (avrebbe bisogno di una pulizia piu' accurata).Usando l'apparamento solo per dormire con mi interessava la dotazione in cucina (comunque adatta solo per due persone).

HONTEUX !!!

Nous avions commander 1 chambre 80 m2 vue sur la mer avec piscine. A peine la réception nous annonce qu'aucunes chambres était dispo . Elle a voulu nous replacer dans 1 chambre dans la forêt . Après bataille nous réussissons a avoir une chambre dans un autre hôtel vu sur la mer mais toute petit avec des cafards dans la terrasse .. Nous avons pu récupérer notre vrai chambre le 21 août donc pour 2 jours puisque nous somme rentrer le 23.
Bref nous sommes très très mécontent . C'est bien la première fois .. Triste vacances :/

Hôtel bien situé à Madère village avec bcp de vent

Appartement sympa, cela dit la propreté laisse à désirer, femme de ménage super sympa mais à part faire le lit tous les jours n'a pas passer l'aspirateur ni laver la salle de bain!!!
Confort de la chambre un peu moyen ainsi que les canapés...
Télévision 2 chaînes françaises le reste que de l'allemand
Dommage qu'il n'y avait pas de clim chaleur étouffante à l'intérieur
Endroit sympa piscine suffisante mais village avec bcp bcp de vent donc difficile de se baigner
Balcon individuel mais c'est comme si vous étiez avec vos voisins, vu chez les autres vacanciers vis à vis trop présent dommage!!
Le but des vacances est de visiter l'île donc malgré ses points négatifs cela suffit comme hôtel pour dormir et y manger de temps en temps.

Muito próximo ao mar.

A estadia foi excelente,só um pequeno pormenor que não achei bom, o facto de não deixarem toalhas limpas para o fim de semana já que o hotel tem por norma não ir ao quarto. De resto excelente. ...e obrigada.

1 nacht Canico Bay Club

Gekozen als laatste locatie om te verblijven na een rondrit met de auto over het eiland. Aangezien we 's morgens al vroeg naar het vliegveld terug moesten, genoegen genomen met het feit dat er geen ontbijt was inbegrepen.
We zijn 's middags aangekomen, de receptie was reeds gesloten maar er was handig bedacht hoe wij toch het appartement in zouden kunnen komen. Eenmaal binnen verrast door de ruimte en aanwezige voorzieningen on de kamer. Uitgebreide keuken, fijn groot bed, prima badkamer. En alles in nette en schone staat. Kleine teleurstelling over de restaurantjes in de buurt, aanbod was niet heel groot maar uiteindelijk toch heel erg lekker gegeten bij de pizzeria even verderop.
Al met al een goede keus om hier de laatste uren van onze vakantie te vertoeven met als kers op de taart een prachtige zonsopkomst vanaf het balkon aangezien we al vroeg uit de veren moesten zijn.

Recht günstig gelegenes Appartment-Hotel

Bei Ankunft nach 16 Uhr ist niemand mehr an der Rezeption,dann findet man seine Appartment-Nr. an der Rezeptionstür angeschlagen, Schlüssel liegt unter de Appartmentfußmatte. Putzkraft ist auch Rezeptionsdame, gibt Auskünfte; Ausstattung der Küche dürftig; Pool sehr klein; vor den Appartments 5 u. 6 ist die Terrasse - manche dreisten Gäste stellen ihre Liegen direkt vor diese Appartments; Appartments insgesamt recht groß.

Hôtel accueillant avec petite vue sur l'océan.

On a passé une super séjour dans cet hôtel mise à par que le matelas n'était pas confortable. Sinon rien a redire.
Il on commencé a renouvelé les sommiers je pense que le matelas vas bientôt être changé aussi.

Totalt sett mkt trevligt men täcke och lakan i sängen behöver bytas. Kändes ofräscht. Olämpligt att ange hyresgästernas namn och rum på en lista på receptionsdörren, vi fick en påringning på kvällen av norsk lägenhetsförsäljare som påpekade att vi träffats förut (vilket vi absolut inte gjort) och gärna ville komma in och prata. Detta besök kändes mycket obehagligt. Madeira som upplevelse helt fantastiskt.

Buen apartamento para tranquilidad o para moverse

Está un poco apartado de las rutas principales, si no tienes coche, hay que coger el 155 para ir a Funchal o Caniço. Enfrente hay un Rent-a-car que sale mucho más barato que el del aeropuerto. Hay restaurantes buenos al lado (especial A Trainiera, para pescados) y buen sitio para pasear ya sea a la playa de los Reis Magos o hacia Garajau por unos buenos acantilados. El pero principal lo pondría en la accesibilidad al Wi-Fi, que no tiene buena cobertura (o ninguna) dentro de las propias instalaciones, incluso dentro del mismo apartamento. Poco personal en las instalaciones.

Dåligt vattentryck, vattnet rann otroligt sakta ur tvättstället, dåligt med Tv kanaler, ingen vattenkokare, solkigt utebord, 2korgstolar utanför receptionen- där man kan använda datorn, snålt med toapappe, ingen stekspade. Efter påstötning fick vi ett skärbräda och en kastrull. Men det värsta var mögel lukten.
