Nice and affordable hotel in Mendoza. It's a bit dated, though. The room was good and the bed was very comfortable. There was not table in the room or a sitting area. The breakfast is acceptable. The check-in took too much time and the app to access the room wouldn't work. Better provide a fob than an app! The people were very friendly. There was no restaurant.

The coffe machine in the breakfast was broken and the hot water always warm, and I need coffe and tea every morning.The pillows in the room very hard, but no more bad comentaries! I loved the hotel.

This hotel must have been a modern and great hotel over 2 decades ago. It has not been updated. Rooms are big and clean. However, bathrooms smelled bad. Personal is limited. Breakfast is not great. Worst part is that they have ample room in the dinning area but they set the breakfast in a tiny space next to the check in desk.

This is a nice hotel a few blocks from the centre of Mendoza. The room was super nice but the walls are not sound proof at all. We were travelling with kids and had to listened to other rooms partying at 4am. And it wasn’t just partying, you could here people talking or snoring from the adjacent rooms.

Wonderful hotel! It is very well located, and the rooms are quite comfortable. I stayed in a two-queen bedroom that included a fridge and microwave. The room also had a safe, a very clean bathroom with a hairdryer, and toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, and soap.

A continental breakfast was included, featuring a wide variety of items such as pastries, different types of bread, butter, jams, coffee, tea, milk, yogurt, dairy meats, and scrambled eggs. The staff was very friendly and always willing to help. There is a beautiful outdoor pool, although it was closed for the season. Additionally, you can pay an extra fee for access to an underground garage.

Highly recommend Mod Hotel for travellers. The team and service were amazing, even though we spoke English.

They made regular effort and small details to provide a tailored experience, even moving a wine barrel table and wine gift into our room when they heard one of our tours was cancelled.

A good hotel in the old part of the city

Our room was comfortable and spacious and bathroom worked well. Check-in was good but we had a few issues with room access only being available through a phone app. Had no other communication with staff until we checked out 5 days later. Breakfast is ok but doesn’t vary very much and all self-service. Nice to have an outside space with a pool but sadly this area is rather neglected with food and drink remains being left for several hours and even overnight. We felt uneasy walking around this area after dark. Was a ten minute walk to the centre or newer part of the city.

A nice enough hotel however we were more than 24 hours without hot water and the staff could not promise when it would come back on, this is not acceptable for a hotel of this price and quality. The staff were however kind enough to arrange alternative accommodation at the nearby Sheraton, which was lovely.

Finds a different hotel in a better location

Located in a marginal neighborhood. Room with doors for adjoining rooms offer zero sound proof so people in next room are more or less in your room. No desks in room to work. No room service or restaurant comforted to go out at night in the marginal neighborhood to seek food. No currency exchange service offered when Uber eats merchants refused to process payments with credit cards to avoid I assume merchant charges. Brutal hotel which I suppose is partly to be blamed on the current economic and political troubles of Argentina

Great place stay in Mendoza. The breakfast is delicious. The staff for the most part were welcoming and friendly. The hotel is clean and well kept. They don’t have phones in the room so be prepared to download WhatsApp, and another app to use for the room key.
It’s located in a convenient area in Mendoza.

Rooms are spartan but clean, only one hard backed chair to sit on, so not comfortable for work. Breakfast was all about sugar, on sweet bread, in yogurt, everywhere. Fruit mostly dried or canned. Location is 20 mins walk from centre, nothing much around the hotel for food or diversion. Skeleton staff, sparse furnishings, underwhelming breakfast. Barely a 3 star, never 4.

I’m writing to say I’m very disappointed in my selection of this hotel. Mendoza is a lovely place and worth a trip but avoid this hotel unless you are paying less than 50 dollars a night.....it’s way way overpriced.
This hotel is sold not as the best in Mendoza but at least as clean modern and decent.
I can’t say it meets any of those descriptions.
The room is very very worn. The carpet is frayed and stained and desperately needs replacement
The hot water didn’t work when we arrived
We have to double beds, one of the cushions is damaged and uncomfortable and can’t been used.
The shower heads look like they are 25 years old.
The pillows seem like they are from the US army
Finally we went for the breakfast during the appointed time and they had already taken in down and has the gaul to charge for a coffee
Even after we had prepaid 5 days we asked for a one hour late check out...even though the hotel is empty that was denied
Avoid this place unless you get it really cheap

The room was large and very clean. The bed was so amazingly comfortable, I slept incredibly well. The bathroom was sparkling clean and the shower was heaven. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The breakfast is continental style with plenty of choices of pastries, breads, fruit, cereal, fresh juices, coffee, and tea. Very nice.

I thought the location was awesome. So many things are within walking distance.

The Mods Hotel Mendoza was a very affordable option before hopping a flight to Bogota after visiting Bodegas Caro. Decent wine selections and OK food options allowed us to bed early for a 5am ride to the airport. The room could have been a bit cleaner, but i have stayed in much worse. Reccomended.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room could have been better as the beige carpets had a lot of stains and the bathroom ceiling had stains and lots of patches. I had drinks and dinner at the hotel bar one night which was pretty good. I also walked to the area that had restaurants which wasn’t a bad walk, but was about 15-20 minutes from the hotel.

About a 10 minute walk to town center - very few restaurants in the immediate vicinity of hotel. Nice breakfast. Room was large, though decor was spare and had carpet in need up update. Note that power outlets in this hotel are only Argentinian - bring an adapter if you have European or American appliances. Pool is large and attractive, but water was cloudy and heater for Jacuzzi was not working. Friendly staff.

Mod was a good hotel with all conveniences. Clean and spaciuos, the hotel could do better by providing higher quality bathroom amenities including thicker toilet paper and larger hand soap bars. Breakfast was good, but one dinner meal left us disappointed, i.e. my wife's wok dish was overcooked with too many noddles and not enough vegtables Staff were very friendly and competent. I would give this hotel three and a half stars out of five

Away from the main traffic (pedestrian and car) but close enough to walk.
Decent pool (though water not that clear) big enough to swim a little bit.
Decent work out room (compared to other places we stayed) if you want to run on tread mill rather than the street.
The room has a refrigerator.
Food at restaurant is good and not too expensive.

We had a two room family suite with a king bed and two twins along with a small dining table with four chairs. Overall the beds were great and the rooms were very large compared to most hotels. The lobby, restaurant and bar areas are well maintained and very esthetically pleasing.

The hotel is only about five blocks from the main square with lots of restaurants, bars and shops along the walk. If in Mendoza, I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel lobby is very nice but the rooms are really run down and dirty, they look nothing like the photos. My room was not even cleaned properly. It's also not in a great part of town, run down and abandoned neighborhood. There is also no real restaurant so if you need a meal you have to literally leave the hotel. I would not stay here again.

With a large room, friendly staff and solid breakfast, it is a good value. However, it's about 10 minute walk from the center of the town and we could smell the cigarette smoke whenever a neighbor or someone close to the cents smoked due to the way central air ventilation was designed.

Overall, much better than we expected from other reveiws- nice pool, small but adequate fitness center, lavish breakfast buffet (by Argentine standards), clean modern rooms with a lovely travertine bath, great WIFI. We ended up asking for a late checkout (and got a very fair price for it) since we liked it so much. Yes, off the beaten path but worth it for the price we paid.

Love the hotel and room.

The hotel was great. The hotel is located in a so so area, but it is a three to four block walk to the main strip of restaurants and shops. Despite the location, the hotel staff was very pleasant and friendly. My only complaint is the lighting in the room is not bright, very dim. If they had a floor lamp, it would have been better. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Great hotel in a great city

The staff at The Modern Hotel was fantastic. They helped us organize wine tours, recommended great restaurants and helped us translate when we were stuck with our limited Spanish. Their suggestions were what we needed to explore the city comfortably. The lounge atmosphere was fun and we enjoyed the pool and restaurant too. Only 10 minutes from the airport and a few blocks from the main plazas.

The hotel is nice enough, very comfortable and new. However, the main downtown area is over a 10 minute walk away and its immediate neighborhood is pretty bad/deserted.

Service isn't great, but that is Argentina.

Bathroom design was the absolute worst I've ever seen. Nice furnishings but impossible to actually get ready in the morning with a group.

We stayed a couple of nights. We arrived early in the morning after an overnight bus from Cordoba. The room was available and superb. The facilities at the hotel all worked well. We were given help to go to a wine tour for a long lunch. On our l;ast day we asked for an extended checkout as our bus did not leave until 8pm. This was granted at a reasonable rate. Thearea is clos to the bus station but not walkable with luggage. It is easy to walk to the the town centre or the main park.

A Modern Contemporaty Hotel. Just a few blocks from the heart of Mendoza. The saff was very helpful. Quiet and comfortable rooms, very clean and well kept. My room had a great view of the city and of the snow capped Andes beyond. A great buffet breakfast was included. All at a very resonable price.

yes, that's right, i tried three hotels. the first was too big, and pricey, compared to others in Mendoza. the second, didn't even change the bathroom towels the following day and it was far form all the activities. which brings me to The Modern Hotel. its just a few block from the main street of Mendoza and Independence Plaza. Plus its not too big so you get more of a personnel feel. Service was great. They even went out of the way to get me soccer tickets. i don't write reviews but the look and the service that i got was great. a great value for the money

Great Hotel, has a pool, very comfy with 3 bed per room, nice and new furniture, had a good safe in room, and has all the things to expect from a \"Modern\" living experience. Breakfast was great as was the service, and Hotel bar was good enough.

Only bad side was the near by area doesn't have much and I don't recommend walking at night alone, also most things required taxi due to distance.

Mendoza's Best Kept Secret

My husband and I were delayed in Mendoza an extra night due to the air traffic control strike in Buenos Aires, not a bad place to be stranded, and we needed a hotel for an additional that was fairly close to the city center and the airport. Many hotels were already reserved for the evening, however, we were lucky enough to find this jewel of a hotel for a very good price with only an hour's notice/reservation through Expedia. Staff was very helpful. Everything was perfect except for the dinner at the hotel. The Modern was extremely clean, comfortable, and quiet with the exception of the thunder storm. The walk to Independence Plaza is about 30 minutes by foot or less than 10 minutes by taxi. I would recommend this hotel to my best friend.
