Anantara is a nice resort it is on the side of a cliff so there are many stairs but wonderful
Views from the ocean view rooms. The rooms are large and really comfortable. Breakfast was good wit much variety. Unfortunately the pool was being repaired during our stay but it did not deter us from having an enjoyable stay.

5 day trip to Bali. I stayed in Uluwatu for 1 day to experience the high end resort - Anantara Uluwatu.

Room Type - Anantara Pool Suite

Positives:
1. Resort - 10/10 - Excellent place. Huge resort with incredible views, Definitely what you are looking for in Uluwatu.
2. Location - 10/10 - For us it was central. We had to visit the Uluwatu temple which was 15 mins grab ride and Savaya Club which was 20 mins grab ride. You will have no issues in finding grab from here. Also lots of restaurants on the main road.
3. Room - 10/10 - Clean and comfortable. Very spacious.
4. Bathroom - 8/10 - Clean and spacious. However, there was some kind of stink, which went out after they refreshed the room for the night.
5. Staff - 8/10 - Very friendly, smiling. However, if I link this to the service, which is below, then they need to improve.

Negatives:
1. Service - 2/10 - Couple of items. I compare it with my other hotel stays in Bali which were maybe 1/4 the price but had 11/10 service.

- SPA Service - I was there for 1 night. I came in early so we could enjoy the resort. At the time of check-in we requested for SPA service to be booked which the receptionist confirmed. When we went to the SPA at our time, the SPA lady said, there is no booking, we cannot accomodate. The staff didn't do much make for it.

- Housekeeping - Iron - at night I called for iron and iron board. I called maybe 4 times to remind them.

Is it value for money? For the service and price, No.

We had a wonderful stay at Anantara. My husband sadly got bali belly during the trip and the staff was so accommodating and kind. The rooms were beautiful and spacious with gorgeous views throughout the resort. The breakfast buffet was incredible with a lot of variety. We will definitely be back!

This hotel was incredible. Every single staff was helpful, friendly, kind. Easily walkable into Uluwatu main area for amazing shops and restaurants. Food at the hotel was delicious. Breakfast buffet was perfect. Beachside restaurant was our favourite. Beds were firm but comfortable. One of our favourite hotels we have ever stayed at.

Absolutely outstanding! Look no further for your stay in Uluwatu! The room was much bigger than pictured and had a lovely view of the ocean. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and had tons of options. The resort is a convenient walk into town but the beach shuttle was very handy. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating - we had a 10:30pm flight and they provided us another room to shower and relax in so we could enjoy another full day. We will be back!

We had to wait an extra hour to check in they put us on level five room 508 and the restaurant is on level 6 so all day and night you can hear chairs dragging on the floor sounds like chalk on the chalk board there is 98 steps to a small infinity pool but alas not enough sun lounges the gym equipment is not functional please consider another resort

Stunning hotel in an epic location on the ocean! Beautiful pool, bar and restaurant to watch the waves roll in and watch the surfers.
Absolutely gorgeous room filled with every amenity you’d want or need.
The staff here is very professional but so very kind and attentive to your every need. Very close to town of Uluwatu and the Uluwatu Temple.

Great place to visit for a week! The staff was always on top of everything and the property is well kept and beutiful.

Our stay at the Anantara in Uluwatu was amazing. It’s a luxury style boutique resort. It’s not too large and not too small. The grounds are beautiful and it’s built on a cliff overlooking the ocean. The room was the nicest room we have ever stayed in! We had an ocean facing room and it was out of this world! The staff of this resort are TOP NOTCH. They are attentive and the nicest people on the planet (all of Bali is this way). We had a private dinner in the glass chapel and Ari took the best care to ensure it was magical. If you make your way to Uluwatu, make sure you stay here! We loved everything about our stay! 10 stars! ☺️

Absolutely gorgeous property. Our Pool suite was huge and super comfortable. There was turn down service twice a day which was a (nice) surprise. The valet staff was impeccable especially Dilrag who was attentive and kind. The resort pool is absolutely stunning - there are limited pool side loungers, however we didn’t wait too long to get a seat. The breakfast buffet was lovely with good choices. The only thing that could have made the experience better was an improved way of getting to and from the main road to the resort. It’s a long long way to walk in the heat and we were quite taken aback that when asked front desk for options we were quite literally told to walk (which we did btw and not recommended). Would be nice if they had golf carts that could just drive guest to at least the main road. Overall lovely stay would recommend.

I am writing to express my disappointment with our recent stay at Anantara Uluwatu. We chose your 5-star resort for a luxurious family holiday, but several issues marred our experience.

We faced multiple problems in our 3-bedroom pool villa:

A broken refrigerator.
A foul odor in the room adjacent to the master bedroom, which remained unresolved despite technician visits.
A non-functional doorbell, causing disturbances and waking our child at night.
A distressing incident where a crab, found in our room and intended to be returned to the sea by your staff, was neglected and died.
These issues made our stay uncomfortable and far below the standard expected from a luxury hotel. We felt like inspectors rather than guests, and the overall experience was highly disappointing.

We hope you address these concerns to prevent future guests from experiencing similar disappointments.

We had such a great time at this lovely resort. The hotel itself was gorgeous- the grounds, the view, the infinity pool...Pictures can't really capture it. I did a very unique yoga class in the most beautiful setting I ever will. Our room was huge with its own pool, outdoor tub and a waterfall shower. The hotel provides a shuttle to the beach and the local temple. But the kind, generous and friendly staff- in particular Kartika, who took care of my husband when he was sick, going above and beyond- are what make this property stand out. We will definitely visit again.

We stayed at Anantara Uluwatu for the first stop on our honeymoon, and we were blown away by the staff and the resort from the moment we arrived. Our flight landed very late, so we didn’t check in until 2am - Angga was ready for us in the lobby to welcome us and provide a delicious Balinese drink, then showed us to our room and made sure we were settled in! They arranged some honeymoon surprises and it was so sweet - we were on cloud 9. The amenities were great and the free breakfast was amazing! Yura, one of the valet attendants, was also extremely sweet and always there to greet us with a smiling face while always remembering our names. We couldn’t recommend this resort enough and we will definitely be back!

Beautiful views from hotel and pools. An Instagramer's dream for photos on the poolside. Watch your things with the monkeys that come over the walls. The staff was very alert to these little thieves. Great yoga classes in the mornings. Nice walk into town and to the beach. Loved the location. I took a free class in making the offerings that you see everywhere. It was wonderful, nice to be able to ask questions from a local about them. Wish I had time to take the other free classes they offered.

We spent $5000 dollars for a nightmare.It was for my Mums Birthday surprise, but instead was a disaster. We booked the Dewata penthouse which is the most expensive room in this hotel. But unfortunately the interior is very worn out and dirty, toilet is not flushing (and toilet ring is unmatched, too small) , terrible mouldy smell everywhere, even found blood stains on bed sheets, pillows are yellow not sure how long been unwashed. All towels are worn out and with stains on them. All towels and bed sheets quite smelly and we were bitten by the bed bugs. Also, not safe, entrance door and garden door both broken, we have to use chairs to block the door at night. Breakfast is awful, all dishes plates are unclean, got oily stains on them. All in all, if you don’t want to waste your money, pls Avoid this hotel.

Amazing views and a really well laid out hotel. We stayed in a three bedroom villa and had plenty of space for our group. The private pool was one of the nicest I’ve ever had and the staff was exceptionally attentive. The only two negatives I found were that the state of the hotel is getting a bit rundown (tough with the weather factor I’m sure) and could use a bit of attention…. The other is that food and services are quite expensive- of course for Indonesia, but even more so than at our previous location at the St. Regis. A short walk to the main road will provide great options and ease the pressure on your wallet.

We absolutely loved our time at Anantara resort. The staff were super helpful and friendly, and the resort itself is beautiful. We are so grateful to have dealt with the manager, Wawan who helped us immensely throughout our trip- from outstanding restaurant recommendations to helping us acquire tickets to the kecak fire show, to personally driving us to the airport when our driver bailed on us last minute. He and the rest of the staff made our stay extremely special and we hope to return to Anantara soon!
