Hats off to the hotel managerial team and the helpful staff. I had a wonderful time there. Well-installed, all things needed were in the room. Clean, neat, and good taste. The hotel is located in a mall that is not in great shape; the hotel itself is like an oasis and is really well-furnished especially when compared to its surroundings. The team was exceedingly helpful, ensured that I got to the airport on time to catch an early plane. The price was great. There is a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel, for anyone concerned.

Good overall but read.

It was a good hotel overall, conditions were not the best, elevator bit dodgy but works, room was massive and full of space. Bathroom door for shower was broken on one side, not fully functional but overall it was good. On top of a small shopping center, there is Poncho fast food open next door which doesn't accept card and a supermarket crossing road that does accept card. Macdonalds literally infront so good location.

Very nice staff. Breakfast is adequate. The hotel is clean. The hotelnis a bit difficult to locate as its reception is found on the send floor of a building, and it is 20-min away (by bus) from the city center. Overall, I had a pleasant stay in the hotel.

The best place i have ever stayed at!

Over my week long stay at Balkan Garni, I had the best experience. I felt right at home. The room was absolutely gorgeous and a bargain. And let's not even talk about the staff! Their customer service is beyond on point! From ordering you food, giving you great info as to how to get around, to bringing you breafast in your room when you miss it! They even had a little gift box for me as i was leaving, filled with my favorite vanilla croissant from breakfast, since I expressed how much I loved them many days before. This is how you run a hotel! Whenever i come back to Belgrade, expect to see me again Balkan Garni!

More then I expected

For a 3 star review i thought this hotel was fantastic. Amazing staff made me feel welcome all the way from Canada! :) Very helpful with travel arrangements in taxis etc. Also very helpful when staff can you buzz you in at 3am when you come back late from having too much fun :) I plan on heading back to Belgrade this October/November and plan to use this Hotel again. I loved Belgrade feels like my true home there.

Excellent Hotel with great service

I was upgraded to a double room with a balcony which had a great view. The balcony was large with table and 4 chairs. The hotel which is located inside a mall is in a excellent location. There are trams and bus running right outside the hotel so you can go most places with public transport. The staff is excellent and they are very polite and always eager to help. The staff helped me sort out Taxi booking to sarajevo. There are plenty of shops so food and shopping is not problem. The breakfast had loads of local food stuff and was of good quality. The room and bathroom was large, modern and very clean. The wifi was excellent. Overall a very good hotel in belgrade.

Top notch service that goes extra

Being a family owned and managed hotel, the staff made me feel very welcome and warm during my winter vacation. The service is beyond commendable - a lot better than most hotels I have stayed in. Breakfast is always sumptous. The room is clean and well maintained. The staff made sure that every aspect of my stay is satisfactory, something that bigger hotels sadly lack nowadays. The location is easily accesible by bus/tram and with lots of restaurants in the vicinity. I will definitely be back in the summer.

Nice Hotel great location

First all Hotel staff are friendly and offer service with smile. Hotel offers breakfast and there are variety to choose from. Hotel location is little bit confusing at the beginning but once you get used to it is very easy. They offer laundry service but you have to pay when check out it is not part of the hotel. Overall hotel is located at perfect location anything you need is in walking distance.

We only stayed overnight but would certainly go back for a longer stay. Staff were very welcoming & helpful and the room was spacious & well appointed. A comfortable place to hang your hat & coat, park your suitcase or drop your backpack.

Great stay!

Our stay at this hotel was great! Much more than expected, as the staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were spacious and clean and the breakfast was amazing! The staff speaks English well and will help you find places to visit, get taxis, or provide a shuttle.

Very friendly staff who really go out of their way to welcome you; they even bought me a present for my birthday, which was unexpected but nice.

The location of the hotel is a bit outside the city center, but it's a 12 min bus ride to most places you'd want to visit. Overall the hotel is probably not one I would recommend because it feels pretty dated. I would say overall cleanliness is below average -- there is a definite funky smell in the rooms coupled with lingering smoke smell everywhere you go. The breakfasts are so bad ... basically inedible food that I actually got sick off of. Seems like they purchase 2 day-old break and pastries, along with other unappealing breakfast items.

Very good hotel

It was my third stay in this hotel. Minor technical problems appear and taken care of. The personal is extremely friendly and helpful. All the problems are solved very efficiently. Convenient transportation practically anywhere in Belgrade. Most of the things are available right in the plaza or very close. Breakfasts are very good. Good restaurants within 300 m range. Bus cards and phone/internet cards - 50 m range. My next visit to Belgrade I hope will be here.

Great experience

This hotel is located in some kind of shopping center . Everything that you need is around this location . Staff was very helpful since we check in late they didn't have our room but they upgraded our room to DELUXE room  . Breakfast was ok .For this kind of money and great hotel staff no complain :) from me and my wife .

Don't judge a book by it's cover!

When we first arrived our impression was to be a little disappointed as the hotel was not especially noticeable from the outside and we had to climb several flights of stairs to get to the entrance (only inconvenient as I am currently awaiting knee surgery and would not be suitable for the elderly). However, once having met the staff and had breakfast, we became more accepting of the situation. A little further away from the center than we anticipated but taxis cheap and buses very frequent. Would suggest everyone goes to the Bohemian area of Belgrade to experience the ambiance, especially at night.

Well connected with city centre provided by buses (night also) and trams (10 minutes). Advice for first timers:: the hotel is hidden in the mall but is well signed. Have to go on 2nd floor or use door in the rear of the building. Very nice and helpful staff. Can recommend ! Had pleasent stay.

Great hotel with good service. Front desk receptionist even walked with us across the street to buy a calling card to make a phone call and even helped us at a public phone to make a phone call. Nice breakfast and only a bus ride into the city, bus 37. Nice room with good variety of channels. Would definitely stay again.

This is the second time I am staying in Balkan Garni. I had a very good time at the hotel. The staff are excellent. I booked a single room and was offered a family room with additional sofa. And this time no smell of smoke in the room. Very good! No good restaurants close by however the staff offered to arrange to and fro taxi to a nearby restaurant. Will definitely stay in Balkan Garni in future. Thanks

City center easily accessible by public transport

The room was clean, however I think none of the rooms are \"Non-Smoking\". So it depends on your luck/unluck you may end up in a room stinking with cigarette. Don't forget your gas mask! The toilet seat was not fixed properly, and does not stay upright - difficult for men ! :-) Otherwise overall it was okay, the staff was good, breakfast was good for the price I paid! No good restaurants near by, so have to depend on fast foods and some cafe!

I loved the place. I needed to open a bank account and I asked my hotel staff where a police station was to go get a \"white Card\" needed to open a bank account. She turned around to get me a \"white card\" with my name on it. They had already gone for me (without my asking them to) they had already gone to the police station to get be a \"white card\". It was just the most incredible thing.

A hidden pearl

I made a stop here for three nights before going to see my family in Romania for the winter holidays and was surprised at how the hotel was hidden inside a larger building. One small sign on the main street hints at its existence while the main entrance is around the back. You can't park on the main street, but there's room around the back. The secure parking isn't really secure, just two spots that you need to book from before and a chest-height gate with no roof above. I was initially worried about my Mercedes E320 with German plates but everything was fine, because: 1. there's little traffic and 2. people there are very honest and friendly. The receptionists all speak very good English and were very helpful in suggesting what there might be to do during the day and night. Have the hotel call you a taxi to go somewhere because unofficial taxis will cheat you. Skadarlija street is a must see, lined with restaurants, after 8 p.m. the restaurants' own musicians play traditional Serbian folk music. There're very few signs if any of the wars that passed through here in the 90s; everyone was hardworking, industrious, and hospitable; aiming to make sure everything was just right for your visit, e.g. restaurants. Most people in the touristy parts of town knows some English, but German and Russian is slightly more prevalent in a few places. I plan to come back in the summer sometime to take advantage of the romantic view of the convergence of the Sava and Danube rivers.

Great hotel for a few days stay

Hotel is located 10 min drive from downtown Belgrade. Getting a cheap taxi is not a problem if you take Lux and Pink taxis (other type of cabs can and will rip you off). When downtown you have planty to do, great restaurants, bars on Sava river, sightseeing in the old Belgrade. Hotel had a nice breakfast, nothing fancy but decent. Good place to stay if you are staying in the city for 3-4 days :-)

Balkan Garni is really a great hotel, with a quality of service beyond expectations. The rooms are really nice and comfortable as well, and the location, although not central, is good as it has easy access to frequent buses that take you to the center. Definitely recommended!

Modern hotel with friendly staff

I was very happy with my stay at this hotel. Although the hotel is quite a distance from the city centre (there are excellent transport links however), I found the hotel to be modern and very well presented. The staff were very friendly from the beginning to the end, and nothing was too much hassle for them. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. The rates were very competitive, and there are a few places to eat very close to the hotel.

Great hotel in Belgarde

Very nice hotel with excellent and very helpful staff. There is a supermarket, fast food and bar right next to the hotel. 10 mins from belgrade centre. Would recommend this hotel to everyone. My flight was in the evening and this staff allowed me a late checkout for free.

Totally agreeable hotel experience

Really nice people work here. All speak English. There is a wide choice of things to eat at breakfast; then the hotel is very quiet the rest of the day and night. Free wifi worked very well. My queen size room with terrace was reasonably priced (approx. EUR 30) - I stayed around two weeks as I had business in Belgrade. Allow half an hour on the tram to get to the center of Belgade. There are also several buses. Someone at the desk will explain how Bus Plus cards work or anything else you need to know. The hotel could be hard to find the first time, especially since it is up some stairs in a commercial building (2nd floor for Eurpeans, 3rd floor for Americans). It is right across the street from a McDonald's. There is a Best Western hotel in this area, but this is not it. I will stay here again.

Needs a little TLC

Staff was VERY friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable. Couch had the front frame broken and needed replacing. Bathroom was good and large but the shower is a safety hazard. It is a cell that is not anchored to any wall and tipped when I tried to turn around in it. Several things were broken in the shower and when I reported them on Friday, I was told they could not be fixed until Monday when the maintenance man returned. I was offered to move to another room but declined.

Very hot; thunderous rain showers;First class food and service at nearby Serbian Restaurant. Taxis cheap and plentiful. Veal ans serbian salads, tomatoes and cucumbers particularly tasty. Hotel arranged taxi on arrival from airport - efficient. Good breakfasts - with fried egg and sausage available. Breakfast available from 6 a.m.Walking distance about 20 mins from Ada Ciganlija. Taxi to Fortress area well worth the trip. Locals very friendly.

Nice attractive boutique hotel, but hard to find !

Everything about this hotel was excellent other than the location. There is a reason why the staff insist you use their taxis, and it's because no other taxi drivers in Belgrade can find the place. They really could benefit from a better sign. Another down point, unrelated to the hotel itself is its location. It is not conveniently located near any of the major attractions, however taxis are inexpensive, approximately 650 dinars or approximately $8.00 to city center, and their are trams available across the street. Entering the hotel is also rather annoying as it's front entrance is really on the back street. There are multiple entrances, however all of them confusing, as it appears you are going into a small shopping center.
I give the hotel high marks for its pleasant staff, very helpful and knowledgeable. The hotel is new, well kept, and clean, and pleasantly decorated. My room was very clean, had a single queen bed which was quite comfortable, a coffee maker with coffee and tea available, a mini bar, plenty of lighting, black out drapes, manually controlled air conditioning and heating which worked well, a hair dryer in the bathroom, and an excellent, powerful standing shower with massage features on the multiple shower heads.
One other gripe, unassociated with the hotel itself was a bar in the back of the shopping center which had loud music on a weeknight echoing from the streets up to the 5th floor of my room, so get ear plugs just in case this is an issue for you.

Funcional y práctico.

El hotel aguanta, el personal es amable y servicial, las habitaciones son cómodas, el baño grande, pero tiene una ducha tipo cabina que uno piensa que se va a caer, el asensor terrible, suena, parece que golpeara contra los muros y suena muy fuerte; buen desayuno, pero sin parqueadero, si no encuentra lugar en la calle, le toca estacionarse a un parqueadero que se encuentra a 1 km de distancia, se lo recomiendo.

Service ist toll. Das Zimmer war toll, allerdings hat ein Steckdose in der Nähe zum Bett gefehlt. Direkt gegenüber vom Balkon wird aktuell ein Haus gebaut, so dass es mit der Nachtruhe (auch am Sonntag) um 7 Uhr vorbei war. Das Frühstück ist in Ordnung, aber nichts besonderes. Busline direkt ins Zentrum, ein 24h-Supermarkt und McDonalds gegenüber dem Hoteleingang. Insgesamt für den Preis ein tolles Hotel
