I had a very pleasant 7 night stay in Hotel Moran. The staff is very courteous, filled my wishes with no problem.
The hotel is very clean, safe and withing a walking distance to downtown, to the Castle and to all the historical sites. It is a few steps from subway. My room had a safety box, all the amenities and it was very clean. Rooms are quiet and bed is very comfortable. No odors or smells. The buffet breakfast was excellent, as shown as on the hotel's website, even better. I will return to hotel Moran on my next trip to Prague.

Hotel Moran was well situated near the underground and the tram lines to get to the old town easily. The room was spacious and the balcony was lovely. Parking was not far and you do need to make a reservation which wasn't clear on the Expedia site. It wasn't hard to stop and drop off luggage before parking the car, which isn't needed in Prague itself. There was a partnership with the next door restaurant but they weren't open Monday evening. The breakfast buffet was lovely. Good space for three people, looking to explore the old town of Prague.

The property was fine and not quite centrally located as we were hoping for.
The hotel was clean, breakfast adequate, and felt safe.
One elevator refused to go to the main floor, hot water was not consistent in the shower, and windows did not seal well enough to keep noise and bugs out.
The main complaint is we booked an airport transfer from the front desk staff. We would assume that this is a common occurrence as we were told the airport was 30 plus minutes away. We were told the rate for the “taxi” and expected the driver in the morning. In the morning the driver was on time, no taxi sign on the car, and took the “taxi” to the airport. Upon arriving to the airport, the driver did not have a machine to accept credit card payment. We fortunately had some Euros put when it came time to pay, he wanted double the rate that the hotel provided to us.
The hotel needs to be doing more not just inside the building, but to screen there preferred “taxi” service so as not to scam customers. We paid nearly $200 Euro per night for a hotel that should have been half that rate.

Thank you Expedia for the hassle free experience, as always. Had an good stay. They serve one of the best and outstanding breakfast in entire Prague. Super friendly, proactive and helpful staff. Very near to Metro and Tram stations. I took the Metro and connecting Metro and Bus to Airport along with my family. They room is not modern, i stayed on the 7th floor which had glass ceiling as substitute for windows. No lockers in the room but available in the reception for free. Though serves the purpose, it's inconvenient.This is more than compensated by fantastic breakfast and staff behaviors. Highly recommended. I will definitely be back on my next trip.

Moderate hotel (as for Best Western).

The hotel is ok. Breakfast is moderate but acceptable. The rooms are rather small and with basic tools. Instead of one big bed we get two smaller put together, but they easily separe from each other during a busy night. Moreover the mattresses are very very soft.
The service is ok but nothing special. Very well located in the centre of town. Close to Vysehrad. also very close to subway station so that you can reach all points that may interest you.

Staff is not friendly, bordering on rude, except for the one man who took our bags into storage and was also there in the afternoon when we picked up our bags. Air conditioning is practically none existent, our room was hot for most of the stay. On site mini mart is overpriced and they will not let you charge items to your room, wanting cash payment, since we had just arrived we did not have any Czech Crowns so the guy at reception begrudgingly let me pay by credit card. Breakfast is okay. Water pressure in shower was poor. I would not stay here again.

The hotel is a little away from the centre of town but within easy walk of the excellent tram and subway system and two blocks from the river. We enjoyed the quieter neighbourhood after the crowded tourist areas in the city centre.

Our room was nothing special but did have aircon as well as windows which opened-- important as we were there in a heatwave. The safety hand rail in the bathroom, next to the bath, came off the wall twice, fortunately not while anyone was relying on it. Both times it was attended to promptly and after the second report we were given a bottle of wine for the trouble it had given us, which was a nice and unexpected gesture.
Apart from that issue the bathroom is cramped and for anyone with mobility problems could be a bit dangerous as the shower is over the bath which is high sided. Stepping out of the wet, slippery tub down onto the floor with not much to hold onto requires care. The dodgy hand rail is to help pull yourself up after sitting in the bath so too low to be any help.

If you take the subway watch out at some stations for the crazy, fast, long and steep escalators with narrow treads!

Stayed for 3 nights on a Christmas markets trip - hotel was very good & comfortable with excellent breakfasts included. Plenty of restaurants/bars/cafes around so no problem for lunch or dinner. Staff helpful.

Great location. Right around the corner from the sites and castles. You can walk to them all. Also there is a great burger place that's cheap around the corner. Good place. Staff was a little short on patience or language issues but it still worked. :)

I'm still cooling down!!!!

Arrived at hotel for a three night stay.weather in Prague was very hot. Looking forward to relaxing in my air-conditioned room. However much to my disappointment the room was very hot. Wondering if the a/c needed time to take effect went out for a few hours. Again, with great excitement arrived back at my room.........still VERY HOT!!!!. No A/C. Reported the problem to the receptionist, the solution to this was a fan, upon asking when the A/C would be repaired, I received a vague look and informed nothing would be done until tomorrow. Feeling dehydrated and tired, retired to bed thinking \" Tomorrow is a new day!\". That morning after losing half my body weight!!!, I enquired at reception what the situation was with repairing the A/C. I was informed the engineer was fixing the A/C. Feeling hopefully, went off for a day's sightseeing. Sadly, upon my return, no A/C and still very hot in room. Once more, enquired at reception and received same explanation. Consequently by check out time the A/C had not been repaired. Very disappointed, would never stay here again.

Hotel exceeded expectations

Great small, friendly hotel. We booked this hotel at a very low rate as a base to see Prague and catch an Andre Bocelli concert. We did not have unrealistic expectations but were extremely surprised. The hotel is spotless, immaculately maintained. The staff were superb. Whilst not central it is very handy for the Metro and the trams. I would have no hesitation in using this hotel again.

The hotel is two blocks from the river. Because it is centrally located, you can walk almost everywhere.
The staff were very friendly, very knowledgeable and most willing to help you. The breakfasts were superb with lots of variety. Plates were constantly being replenished.
It was one of the best places we stayed in.

This was a very pleasant stay. Everything about the hotel was excellent. The only negative thing I could say was that I had booked a double room but upon arrival we were shown to a twin room. I went straight to reception and they gave us another room. Unfortunately this was not a double room either but two single beds pushed together. I presumed that may be the norm in the Czech Republic therefore I didn't ask again. Saying that we have a lovely stay and would stay there again.

There is a beautiful Italian restaurant just down the street from the hotel who were also very accommodating.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights in June 2015 and enjoyed our stay. The location is slightly south of the city centre, but definitely close enough to walk to all the sights. The only downside of our stay was the group of drunk, obnoxious German tourists who drank outside till 2 am and once again resumed their shenanigans at 6 am. Thankfully, we came prepared with ear plugs.

Everything within walking distance, staff were very helpful, no extra hidden costs eg safe. Good breakfast with ample of choice from cereals, fruit, pastries and bacon and scrambled eggs etc. the restaurant across the road was ideal for an evening meal at a reasonable price - the hotel gave us a 10% discount voucher.

I had a 1 night stay for a client located 2 blocks away. This was perfect. Clean, easy, good breakfast. If you were seeing the city you might consider closer but it isn't too far to walk.

Hotel is good value for money if that is what you are after.
However the room I was given was at the rear of the hotel with a very poor view.
Do not be fooled by booking a double room, because you get two single beds pushed together and is not comfortable at all.
I booked for 4 nights and actually left to another hotel after 2 nights.

Hotel Staff, particularly breakfast room staff were very rude, and arrogant. Breakfast choice too very limited.
I am not sure, the nature of the people in the country is bit unfriendly or it was the staff of the hotel, but certainly improvement is needed, city being tourist hub.

The hotel was very clean, the wi-fi was superb, good location not far from a tram stop and 2-3 minutes from the Metro.
The staff were friendly enough but didn't really engage with any guests. The reception staff spoke good English. The buffet breakfast some basic but sufficient. Nothing really bad to say, but it's a 3 star not a 4 star hotel like they claim. But I'd happily stay there again

Booked 4 months in advance and it costed average $100 a night for a double room including breakfast and WiFi in peak summer holiday time. We were given a room on the smoking floor in spite of requesting a no smoking room via Expedia so we had to stuff a wet towel against the door connecting with the next room and leave the window on to the noisy street open as much a possible to reduce the smell.
Although the balcony door was double glazed the first tram of each day woke us at 5 am, but the nearness of public transport was convenient.
Several modestly priced restuarants are nearby.

Only in the Czech Republic would this be classed as a \"4 star\" hotel, I doubt it would be rated this high any where else. The room was clean, the beds, however, were not really comfortable and we found the Reception staff were quite rude. The included breakfast was OK if there was any food to be had.........the replenishment of empty containers, eg: bread, eggs and fruit juice was really slow - they obviously need more than 2 staff in the restaurant when there are 30 or more people in for breakfast at the same time. The staff in the restaurant were friendly, even being run off their feet. I would recommend the hotel for it's location only and warn people about what, we thought, were pitfalls.

Great hotel for your stay in Prague

New Town is the place to stay and the hotel to stay in is Best Western City Hotel Moran. The hotel is within walking distance to a number of great sights, fabulous restaurants, is close to the Metro, and is right near the tram stops.
The hotel itself is clean and comfortable, the staff is helpful and friendly, and the free breakfast is satisfying and delicious. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

Facilities are great - new, clean and everything u need is there. Wifi is fast and breakfast is great. However it is a bit far from the attractions. If you are happy with 5 min walk to the metro station or tram station then it shouldn't be a problem. The other thing that requires improvement is the helpfulness of the reception. They were all nice enough when I asked questions but they seemed to be always in a rush to go back to what they were doing

Only a 10 minute walk to the city center. Great size rooms with all the amenities which are needed. Breakfast is plain and very simple, great diner right across from the hotel. Only disadvantage for me was that there wasn't a safe in the room but only in the lobby where everyone can see everything. Overall a great hotel with very pleasent staff willing to help you out with any questions.

The hotel is located near a metro station and there are a few shops and restaurants nearby. Relatively quiet and inexpensive. But there is no way this is a 4-star hotel. The carpet in the room was really worn out and stained. The bed was very uncomfortable. The breakfast selection was very poor. The front desk person I dealt with was very business like and unfriendly, but not rude. Overall, if you just want a inexpensive place for the night in prague, this is not a very bad choice.

The hotel is about 15 mins away from the city center and close to most of the attractions. It is a few minutes walk to the the metro station and a tram stop. The negatives I can think of is the quality of the breakfast and the lack of friendliness from the front staff. Free wifi included. The best part is that the price was very reasonable! Very recommended for the price conscious.

Also the hotel only has rooms with two twin beds, no king beds available. As a couple I would have wished to have a king bed. Parking is approximately $ 25 or 20 € per night - quite expensive if you consider that the hotel was only $ 65 per night...

Only 12 min. walk to the bridge. Ordinary breakfast. Staff must start to say good morning and dont take away plates while you are eating. Behavior, so depressing. Tram 17 to the bridge. Change to 22at the theater if you go to the castle. Supermarket around the corner. Same water the hotelprice 75 korona is 5!

A great place to stay when you can find it

OK - This is a grteat place to stay in Prague when you find it! We drove round five times trying to find it only to see the tiny sign right up high and the main door isn't on Na Morani it's on a side street off Na Morani. Once we'd overcome that the staff were helpfull and the room clean and comfortable.The hotel was an easy 20 mins walk from Wencelaus Square. The breakfast was good and the hotel arranged tours for us without any difficulty. The hotel was less than 5 mins walk from the Voltava.

Meets the basic needs for a mini break

We weren't sure what to expect but were surprised when we arrived as it wasn't quite as expected. We asked for a double on the website, but were given a twin. When we asked for a double we were given a new room, but found out it was the same layout, just with the two beds pushed together! Service was cordial, but not overly friendly or helpful. There is nothing majorly wrong with the hotel itself, it just won't set your world on fire.

Good hotel

This hotel was in a good location near the train and tram station so was easy to get to from the main train line. When getting into the city from the airport you will need to catch a bus and then a train. The information services are excellent at the airport.
The breakfast was average but eatable. It was a little but away from the city centre however close to the river therefore if you got lost you knew you just had to find the river and walk along it to be able to find your hotel. All in all a good hotel. Oh and there is a cafe next door which is handy given the hotel does not do dinners only breakfast.

Hotel was overall good value w location & near Karlovy Namesti metro station. Clean room w bar fridge & tv although the air conditioner didn't work properly and we were very uncomfortable w the heat. There was great buffet breakfast included. The advised WiFI with provided password for room WIFI access did not work in our room, nor in the hotel foyer. Internet cubicle in hotel foyer was available but Czech keyboard was difficult to use and there were no instructions in English re keyboard use; hotel front desk staff were stand off ish - re assisting w same; - unable to access the internet from the hotel during our stay. They need to upgrade to provide advertised internet access from rooms and print some basic instructions for keyboard use in the foyer cubicle.

I'd arranged a three day visit to Prague and this hotel was a perfect location for exploring the city. I was lucky enough to be allocated a room at the rear of the hotel (room 510) which was very quiet and overlooked a courtyard. Other guests mentioned the noise from the tram which runs past the front of the hotel.

The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast selection was great. The only down side of my stay was that there was very little information available in reception.

A short week-end break in Prague

A little disappointed on arrival at hotel by the lack of friendliness of the receptionist. There was not a warm welcome. Receptionist only acknowledged you after you had made the first approach. Restaurant staff friendly and very efficient. Chamber maids were thorough in cleaning of room daily. Location of hotel although a 20 minute walk to old town was well worth staying at.

my wife and i had a super stay at this hotel the breakfast was plenty to keep you going a good selection and as much as you can eat/drink we both thought it was excellent value for money very clean and simple decor with a friendly atmosphere near enough for transport links and far enough away from noise we would fully recommend this hotel

Close to the sites and reasonably priced

Enjoyed staying two nights here last week. Very close to the downtown and all the important sites. There is a great French Bistro opposite to the hotel which we enjoyed eating there twice...would love to go back to Prague and stay at BW. Raja

On the path, off the path

My fiancee and I stayed at the Hotel Moran for 4 nights over Christmas and it was a delight. It is located next to a metro stop which made getting around town a breeze. It was also only 2 or 3 blocks from the river and the Dancing Building. The walk to old town takes about 15 minutes, but along the way there are lots of really interesting sights to see. Hotel Moran is definitely in a less \"touristy\" area, which has its pros and cons. You'll be further from old town, the Jewish quarter, and lesser town (although its a short walk). But, the walk to Vysehrad is much closer and definitely worth your time. The staff at the hotel spoke english and were helpful, but it was also fun to learn a little Czech before we arrived. The complimentary breakfast was outstanding! And if you're in the mood for something a little more fancy there is a little cafe across the street that is very nice. We would certainly recommend the Hotel Moran to anyone traveling to Prague and will stay there again whenever we return.

Perfect Hotel In Prague

Spent 5 nights here over Christmas with my girlfriend. We are both 25, and have travelled alot. Hotel was in a great location by subway and tram lines. Front desk staff spoke english, answered any questions we had. Breakfast was great. Eggs, bacon, sausages, pastrys, fruit, cerel, granola, etc. Room was large, good beds, clean. TV had 3 english channels, plus others in foreign languages. Bathroom/shower were great.

Hotel is 5 min walk to river, 15 min to Old Town Square. Lots of shops, grocery, pubs, around the hotel. Safe area, quiet. Perfect to get out of the tourist trap.

Amazing hotel in Prague

I spent 9 days in Prague. The city is beautiful. The hotel is amazing, with well appointed rooms, all very clean, located in prime location within walking distance of tourist sites. The staff are polite and helpful. The breakfast is great quality with fresh and up to believe it includes champagne. The hotel is highly recommended and I certainly lodge it again.

Best Western City Hotel Morani

Great Location ideal for all transport links to and from airport and City Centre. Clean and well appointed rooms. Overall a great hotel with wonderful staff and the breakfast is simple, fresh food that gives you a good start to the day.
We would and have recommended this hotel to our friends and plan to stay there next time in Prague.

Clean and close enough to city center

This hotel is quite alright. Rooms are small but clean and do the job. I only stayed for two nights and I wouldn't like to stay longer in such a small room. The only thing I don't like is when you book a double room and you get two matresses put together instead of a double matress. You have to sleep on one side of the bed and to me thats a twin setup. Hotel staff was helpful and breakfast good. Takes about 15-20 minutes to walk to the center or a little longer if you take the scenic route along the river which is only about 500m from the hotel. I wouldn't mind staying again for a couple of nights but I would try to find something a little closer to the center.

Excellent Hotel and Service Extrodinaire!

Every facet of my stay at this hotel was wonderful. The staff were delightfully polite, kind, and helpful at every inquiry.

Dagmar and the kitchen staff served up a full breakfast that would have been fit for a king!

I could not have been more satisfied with my three week stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a safe and secure hotel in the city center.

Weekend stay in Prague

We had a long weekend stay in Prague it was our first time to visit, would love to go back again it is a beauitful city and plent to do but you must have good walking shoes. The hotel was nice but sadly no bar or restaruant where one could go and relax after a long day's walking, however the breakfast in the morning was really nice and plentlyful, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms basic and could do with more pillows which we asked for but did not get, but didnt bother asking again. It is a small bit out of the way from all the activity but I would have no problem staying there again.
