The reception staff was excellent and very helpful. The morning buffet was great with many selections; however the restaurant staff did not know how to descale the coffee machine. Another consideration is that the hotel does not have an elevator, it would be challenging if you have a heavy luggage.

Room would have been ok if not for the bathroom. The shower was not in poor condition because of the shower rod was tilted down and needed to be replaced which caused the water from the shower to come out from the shower room, the shower curtain stinks sooooo bad and probably need replacing or at least needed to be washed.
Also lack of electrical outlet especially not having any next to the bed.
Will definitely not recommend this hotel to anybody.

Over all our stay was amazing, staff were so helpful, the front desk helped us to get our taxi after my cell phone had a problem to hire uber taxi that was a plus..and we caught our flight just in time. I recommended this hotel..looking forward to stay again whenever I am in Prague.

Great boutique hotel in a very central spot so it easy to walk anywhere in the city. Clean. Decent sized room. Decent breakfast. Only complaint is that the carpet in the room held onto some odours and that the bathroom had poor air circulation.

When we arrived we were meet by the receptionist who gave us our room key. When we got to the room we found that there was not enough plug sockets to plug in the fan(the only cooling the room had) on using the toilet I found that it had a leak reported to reception and was fixed the same day. Breakfast was average location was superb. Only down side was no air con and it was 30c had to sleep with the windows open but then could hear traffic noise although not busy it was still there

fine for us but older folks need to know there is no lift. I chose not to have my room cleaned. The staff was very nice especially Martin. We were able to walk to all the sites we wanted to see. There was always someone at the desk which was nice.

The room was very clean, the wifi worked and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was quite tasty, and there were plenty of choices. The only thing is that there isn't a lift and the shower curtain wasn't very good but overall I'd recommend the hotel. It was very conveniently located in the centre of the city.

The location is just good walk to the city

The bathroom has only a hand held shower and the shower base fills up with water, the bedroom was gloomy with minimal lighting and dark painted walls. Just not what you want to come home to after a days sight seeing.. As for the internet don't count on it.

Perfect location in Prague!

The hotel Colloseum was in a perfect location of Prague, within walking distance of both, old and new Prague. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. There were only two issues: the wifi connection, which was none in the room where I stayed (room 24). This is due to the hotel being built of real walls, and not the fake, paper-thin walls americans are used to, so it is completely understandable that the thick concrete walls would interfere with the wifi signal. Also, the shower is a typical telephone shower; however, there was no place to clip the shower and be able to use both hands to shampoo yourself, thus you had to have the shower in your hand at all times (I am not used to that). Other than that, it was good, and the breakfast was great!

Friendly and comfortable

This is the second time I have stayed here and would go back again.
The location is fine, not far from old town square(10-15 min stroll) and the river.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
My only niggle during this stay was that breakfast was very limited. I did get there late, about 25 minutes before it ended, so maybe this is why there was little left and it wasn't replaced.
Overall it was great considering the price.

The receptionist was very nice. the room was quiet. It had a weird smell though, but after an hour you don't smell it anymore. The bathroom is totally outdated and the shower curtain was not holding the water back, so the bathroom was half flooded after the shower. The bed was kinda hard, but I slept OK. The room that breakfast is served in was cold and the breakfast itself was a little bit boring. The wifi connection in the room was poor, and for the first twenty minutes after check-in it didn't work at all.

I could not connect to the internet in the room. Connection was good in the lobby.
No elevator, T.V. was monitor size, 3 channels - one in Russian, German and Italian.
Shower small, room needs a new carpet. Breakfast was good, but no variety.
Street noisy even at night.
Prague is a beautiful city and we did not stay in the room much.
Hotel is reasonably priced.

Nice location and nothing more!

Let me start with the positive
The front office staff is very helpful.. very pleasant to talk to and ask for information to get around the city.. Location is a big positive... 10 min walk to the Charles Bridge...can get to all tourist spots in 10 mins... centrally located with restaurants around.

Now for the negatives..

My first impression of the hotel was not very positive. The lobby is small dark, dingy and dated. However the front office staff was very pleasing and helpful. We were given a 3 floor room and with no elevator had to lug our luggage up the winding circular stairs. The passage way leading to the room was dark.. the bulb was not been replaced for ages.. We entered the room at 2pm and the room was not ready.. the bed was not done.. room was not vacuumed and the loo was not sanitised... we had to inform the front office to have the person come in and have the room ready .. waited for 20 mins to have it sorted....when asked why the room is not ready.. we were told they have only one cleaner and she can't have the rooms ready in time all by herself. The room itself is dated as the hotel.. dark colours... the mattress and the pillows are the worst I have ever slept on... No water provided,no mini bar or kettle. Felt very disappointed for the money charged.

Breakfast too was not very interesting.. very basic.

On the whole ... No Value for Money or for Comfort.

Worst hotel ever

This is the worst hotel i have even stayed in. It had no redeeming features. I was stuck in the loft room which was clearly just a way of squeezing an extra room into the hotel as the door number was written in marker. On entering the room you were greeted with the smell of sewage, you couldn't stand up in the bathroom due to the sloping ceiling. the wifi pretty much only worked for 30 mins the whole time i was there and they didn't do anything to fix i when asked. the breakfast buffet was a joke and not worth even going into the room for. the room also was the home to all the water heaters so was pretty much a furnace.

Three flights of 20 stairs to climb with suitcase, breakfast buffet same everyday and wifi works intermittently. However good location on tram line 14 which connects with Metro at Karlovo Namesti then access to whole city. Comfortable room although my room suffered from late night traffic and revelers at 3 am.some mornings. Good bars and shops locally especially the fish and chip shop close by just like being at home. would have liked satellite tv instead of 4 channels none of which spoke English. OK for the price but better can be found thats cheaper. No evidence of a restaurant.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed

Staffs are extremely rude, because there was no lift, so we (2 girls) asked for help from the staff at the counter but she refused to help us. Breakfasts are cold and limited choices, and they serve the same food every morning. Rooms are dirty and the lights are very dark, the atmosphere was so bad we were not comfortable at all. Overall, I can say this is the worst hotel I've ever stayed. This hotel cannot rank itself as a hotel, but only a hostel. Very disappointed and dissatisfied.

Hotel needs an overhaul

The hotel is well situated, but the actual hotel has a very run-down feel about it.
Door handles that come off in your hand, carpets that are worn through, television only has 4 channels (non in English) and the shower head wasn't connected to the wall (resulting in having to use only a hand held attachment). Towels aren't replaced. The wifi, when it worked, was very weak.
Breakfast consisted of cereal, two types of sausages, bread and boiled eggs.
For nearly £80 / night for two people sharing, I expected a lot more in the way of comfort and basic facilities.

Staff unable to rectify problems, best avoided.

I booked this hotel over a slightly cheaper one as this advertised WiFi in the rooms. Sadly when we arrived the WiFi on the second floor did not work properly and despite reporting this to the reception staff several times they seemed not bothered in the slightest and said use the WiFi in reception. Not particularly convenient, and especially irritating as we'd paid extra to stay here over a non-WiFi equipped hotel.

Far worse was the inoperative shower in my room. The hot flow was simply a dribble and when the shower head was lifted above waist height it stopped completely. This was reported to reception staff numerous times as well as a request to change rooms. Sorry, we have no more rooms was the answer and repeated complaints were met with \"we've checked it and it's OK\". All in all very disappointing, washing facilities that work is after all a fairly basic expectation.

Cheap, good location but you get what you pay for.

The hotel staff we friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a good location, walking distance to most of the tourist sites and attractions. The room size was big. However given these positives, I still wouldn't recommend the hotel to my friends. This being because the bed linen was old and felt dirty and uncomfortable. The pillows were some of the worst I have ever had at any accommodation. Breakfast was included but it was not to my taste and there was very little choice.

If all you want is cheap accommodation close to everything then this hotel would be fine. However if you wish to have a comfortable stay and s good nights sleep then I would not recommend it.

Loud Central Hotel in Prague

It would be difficult to find a more loud location than this hotel. With no AC and needing the windows open it was impossible to sleep. The cars and people walking were well above normal for the noise. After 11pm the room would cool enough to close the windows and then we could sleep. The three television channels available were a joke. The shower drained slow so we had a time limit on our showers. It was in a great location and the tram stopped right in front of the hotel. (that also added to the noise) From the hotel we could walk to all major attractions without taking public transportation. I prefer to take the stairs anyway but for those of you who need an elevator forget it. The price was good for no AC, no elevator, and the small rooms but they could not charge any more with these lack of amenities.

Found the information from the hotel misleading. Expensive for an Old and not well maintained hotel, electricity was cut off after midnight. No hot water available Breakfast was pretty decent. Will say that this was the best from what this hotel has to offer. Will never stay here ever again. This was more of a hostel style than a 3 star hotel

A small hotel, well situated for exploring Praghue with the tram stopping outside the hotel, even though the Charles Bridge and Old Town Square are in short walking distance. The hotel was clean, but a little basic no fridge, hair dryer, tea/coffee making or safe in the room.
Breakfast very basic continental, but with GOOD BRITISH TEA ! Clean, freindly and warm.

Fun and Funky!

In this very old and charming building, the Colloseum provides great service, a convenient location and old-world charm. The breakfast is adequate but the hotel sets out lots of food. I only wish there had been fresh fruit. I love the circular staircase with wooden steps! There is no elevator in this 4 level hotel, but using the staircase transcends the experience of having no lift. I would stay here again and I recommend it to anyone who is in good shape and does not need American style accouterments.

Adequate older Hotel with good location. Excellent breakfast. No AC when we were there in July with temps in the high 80s. Barely able to sleep at night. Turns out this hotel is popular with the German college crowd. Partied all night. The hotel staff seemed oblivious that some people actually like to sleep at night.

cheap!! very happy with what we got for our money!

Very cheap stay and superb staff - very friendly and helpful!
Great location, in easy walking distance to the old town square and close to metro station.

The room was in need of some TLC, especially in the bathroom. Shower was tiled badly and flooded the whole bathroom when used. rather amusing! :)
No tea and coffe making facilties in the room, but cold drinks available in the reception.

On the plus site: the bed was very comfy and the room was clean!!!
Breakfast was very early 7.30 till 9.30am, but provided all you need to start the day, incl. fresh fruit, tea and coffe, fresh bread, cereal, sausages and boiled eggs etc.

we were very happy during our stay and feel like we got what we paid for, if not a little more! :)

I would not recommend this hotel

On arrival we noticed that our toliet seat was broken off of the toilet, we told the receptionist who said that they knew this and that it would be mended the following day. The toilet seat never got fixed.
We awoke the first morning to find that we had no electric - the rest of the hotel was fine, it was just our room. When we told the receptionist she said that she had to wait for someone to come in to allow her access to the room with the flip switches in and this would not be till about 2pm - therefore we had to shower in the dark as the bathroom had no natural light. When we got back from sightseeing, the electric had been fixed.
When we were in Prague it was very cold and the hotel room only had a very thin quilt and very thin blanket, this would have been sufficiant if the heating had been on but, strangely enough, even though it was -2c at night the heating was only on for two hours an evening which did not make the hotel room warm at all.
The only good thing about this hotel was the location - great for sightseeing!
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!

Not a good hotel

THIS HOTEL DOES NOT COME WITH ALL-INCLUSIVE AS STANDARD (as inferred on their website). The breakfast was very basic and poorly executed. The bread was very stale. Whilst we were already living on a shoe string (as we had budgeted for having our meals included in te price of the room) we only ate breakfast in the hotel on the first morning as it was so unappetising.
THIS HOTEL DOES NOT OFFER DOUBLE ROOMS. The only distinction between a twin and double room is that the beds are pushed together and there is a large blanket (yet separate duvets) covering both beds. The receptionist refused to do anything when I informed her of this problem.
The front door was broken so that the door had to be wedged closed with a broom from the inside. This was worrying for security, and also annoying during the day when you had to wait a few minutes for a staff member to open the door so that you could get into the hotel.
The hand rail of the steep spiral staircase was hanging loose in several places.
Whilst not the fault of the hotel, the noise from the trams on the street below disturbed our sleep somewhat.

I spent only one night and I can say it´s a good choice for this price, which is not so expensive. I had only a problem that was solved in 10 minutes: I had made the reservation on the same day that I would stay, but in the morning, through hotels.com, and it was already debited from my card. They didn´t have this reservation and they said that I still should pay for that, but I recommended the girl who was in reception to call hotels.com to see how was the situation and she could see that I had already payed. Well, it was solved in 10 minutes, so it wasn´t a big problem. Breakfast in morning was very good!!!

Colloseum U Cerneho Konicka - Prague

This hotel was perfectly fine. Conditions were good, the price was right, and breakfast was good. The location however wasn't the best. It was not near the center of action, but at that price I knew it wouldn't be. I would probably pay a little more to stay closer to action in the future, but the hotel was good for the money. Plenty of space!

The hotel was very clean and staff were friendly. Rooms were warm and tidy, although our shower did leak all over the floor. The location was excellent - within easy walking distance of all the major sites and attractions and next door to a good cafe with excellent coffee!

The only real downside was noise. Initially we were placed in a room at the back above the kitchen and were woken at 6am by banging and clanking from it. We asked to be moved and got a room at the front of the hotel. Traffic noise might have been a problem if it had been warm enough to open the windows (but it wasn't!). Instead, we were in a room next to a fire door which the other guests and staff seemed unable to shut quietly, so were woken at all hours from it banging shut. As were were mainly out this wasn't too much of a problem though.

Very central location - walking distance to almost anywhere

Conveniently located very near Karlovo Namesti metro station, this is an easy place to start your walk to most of Prague or to take the metro/trams to get anywhere. No lift, but there are only three floors in the hotel so no real need for one. The room was very clean and spacious, the shower worked and just in case you don't want to go out late or you want to catch up with news and sport the TV gets enough channels in Italian/German/Czech/English; Nova, Rai Uno, ZDF, Vox, C11, S12, Eurosport, CNN to name a few.

All the staff are friendly and most of them speak English (a few Czech words may be useful but not needed!). Breakfast is basic but if you're in Prague the last thing you would probably want to do is eat in a lot - the location of this hotel is probably as good as you're going to find and it's a very short walk to the river and the bridges near it as well as the centre itself.

No minibar or other extras so no extra expenses (unless you decide to buy a soft drink at reception or a meal at the full service restaurant downstairs adjacent to the hotel).

The hotel was decent for the price we found on Expedia. The breakfast was basic and the hotel was clean. If you are in Prague for a couple of days the location is great for walking around old Prague and seeing the main sites. If you want to be near inexpensive resturants, shops, and a subway then this is not a good place.

Overall Good Value & Great Location

This hotel was close to many major sites and nearby restaurants. A small but cozy lounge was a few doors down with live music and a dance /night club was only a few blocks away (Very fun/cool ambiance).

REMEMBER THE FOLLOWING: Make sure you DO NOT get a room facing the street (it does get noisy at night when people are leaving the bars). Also, the breakfast buffet they offer is NOT good. Warm milk with cereal that looked like corn flakes and slices of meat, cheese and some yogurt. It was an extremely small selection.

Additionally, they do NOT have an elevator - this was only an issue because my bags were extremely heavy and we had to switch rooms and then go up to the 4th floor.

FREE internet is only in the lobby (which is also very small) however, you could possibly get a signal in the dining room if you sit as close as possible to the lobby.)

I know it sounds like a lot of complaints however, it was a good value and location overall. Have fun and enjoy Prague!

fine for a short stay-you pay for what you get

the hotel is vert close to most of the attractions in Prague and it is very reasonably priced when you consider this alone. The rooms are adequately sized and clean,with good showers. If you are a light sleeper i wouldnt recommend staying here. A series of doors dividing the corridors are continually opening and banging shut during the night by other hotel users-the acoustic qualities of the walls arent great. for a cheap short stay in Prague this hotel is fine.

Preis-Leistung ist für Prag-Zentrum sehr gut. Zentrale Lage, damit natürlich nicht ruhig. 24 h Rezeption mit sehr freundlichem Personal. Parken in der Nähe ist nicht möglich.

Hotel velho e com cheiro ruim no quarto

O hotel é velho e precisa de vários reparos. O quarto era no terceiro piso e sem elevador. Apesar de ser primavera, o quarto estava quente e não havia ar condicionado, fazendo bastante calor. Abrir a pequena janela não resolvia o calor e só aumentava o barulho do trânsito externo. A casa de banho era extremamente mal cuidada, necessitava reparos urgentes, com duche a vazar água sempre que se tomava um banho, água quente era muito inconstante, e sempre um mau cheiro na casa de banho - talve por esgotos entupidos. Não se podia deixar a porta da casa de banho aberta ou o quarto ficava insuportavelmente fedorento.

Wat een drama. Laten we positief beginnen, de ligging en de bedden top!
Maar dan, elke ochtend geen warm water (ondanks herhaaldelijk melden) en ontbijt in het sushi restaurant want er naast ligt (met een tussendeur). Fijn ontbijt wat naar vis smaakt. Praag is geweldig, maar sla dit hotel aub over.

A Prague must. The hotel is very close to old town, wencelars square and the dancing house. Also the restaurants and bars in the area are so good and walkable. Absolute recommendation.

punto perfetto , ho girato a piedi tutta Praga in 3 giorni. struttura anzianotta, mantenuta bene poco curata nei dettagli, soprattutto i bagni che lasciano a desiderare. Moquette nelle stanze, il che è Terribile.
per il resto personale piacevole, presenteH24, la colazione tuitto sommato va benissimo per il prezzo, cosiccome le stanze, peccato per questa puzza caratteristica da moquette tremenda

An old but charming building in a convenient area of the new city. Very close to trams and the metro stop. Friendly and helpful staff, rooms large enough, even if with a little old furniture. Overall clean and excellent value for money. The breakfast (continental both sweet and savory) was more than sufficient. To be recommended!

Hotellet var äldre men endå i okej skick. Rummet hade varit bra om det inte hade varit för att badrummet luktade mögel som spred sig ut i rummet, troligtvis från det gamla duschdrapperiet. Väldigt fuktigt inomhus också. Frukosten var okej. För att sammanfatta är Hotel Czechia helt okej om man är på genomresa ex. backpackar men kag skulle inte stanna där mer än några nätter.

Hotellets personal var dock fantastisk, speciellt den unga killen som satt i receptionen

Gutes Zimmer, altes Hotel

Zimmer hatte gute Größe gehabt. Nah in die Prager Innenstadt (12min zu Fuß bis zur Astronomischen Uhr). Das Hotel ist allerdings alt und hat keinen Aufzug. Das Frühstück war OK - wenn es eine Option gäbe es abzubestellen, dann lieber im Café gegenüber frühstücken gehen.

Parken ist schwierig aber ansonsten wirklich eine richtig tolle und zentrale Möglichkeit um Prag zu erkunden! Wenn wir wieder nach Prag kommen, gerne wieder in dieses Hotel!

Greit hotell, sentralt

Et helt greit hotell med sentral beliggenhet. Det er et rimelig hotell , ikke luksus - men helt i orden hvis dagen skal brukes ute. 3 etasjer, ikke heis. Bagasjen blir brakt til rommet, hvis det er behov for det. Vi hadde ikke noe skrivebord eller kjøleskap. Rommet var rent og sengen god. Frokosten er enkel, med pulverkaffe, - men det var frokost. Betjeningen var hyggelig og imøtekommende!

Hotel molto essenziale ma centrale, comodo per raggiungere il centro, 15 minuti a piedi dalla fermata A della metro MUSTEK. Sicuramente una struttura senza pretese, il personale cordiale, il pane a colazione molto buono, il tea un po' meno ma nel complesso accettabile. L'unica cosa strana è che le pulizie le fanno solo su richiesta quando lasci la chiave e questo mi è piaciuto poco
