I stayed in a dormitory. Shared toilet was clean.. kitchen was occupied with all essentials... They also provided the locker for luggage before I checked in!
My only complaint is the noise. May be it is becausey room was on the road side, I couldn't sleep a single night... I can hear loud noises of the buses/cars passing by, people shouting!

Best hostel! Just a couple of minutes away from Narodni Trida (metro) station, there are plenty of eateries around and a famous ice cream parlour - literally a few doors away.

Despite being in a main road with the trams running, it was relatively quiet. Place was clean and spacious. They allowed me to check in early. 24/7 reception and the kitchen was generally open. Lounge with huge screen.

A special thank to Stela on reception, who was exceptional and lovely. So helpful and knowledgeable.

Will definitely stay here again.

Clean, bright and enough space for our family of 5. We had a single large room with 6 beds and private bathroom. Staff was friendly and luggage storage was appreciated! Walkable to Old Town, Charles Bridge and all points around! Great stay.

Great location, nice place & people, 👍

The good: The staff were really helpful and friendly, the room was spacious with huge windows and the location was perfect. There were lots of period features such as the big wooden doors and windows. The lockers in the room were really big which was great too, and all the people I met there were great and I made many friends. Towels provided, and padlocks could be borrowed. Bedding was clean and comfy bed.
The not so good: could be a bit cleaner, in some places it felt a bit unclean eg the radiator in the bathroom needed a good wipe down and some areas were a bit tired/old eh carpet in dormitory.
Worth noting: hostel was listed as being accessible for disabled guests, however I would say it was semi-accessible. Eg the access to the lift requires entering a code on a box about 6'/184cm high on the wall, and the old historic doors not designed for wheelchair access and proved somewhat difficult for getting around within the hostel. Some rooms have bath not shower. Please take it into account if you have specific accessibility needs especially if traveling solo

Bathroom Not so private

when you try to book the hotel you are informed that the room is private. I sent an email confirming if it would be really private because my friends and I prefer to stay in a private room with a bathroom just for our use, despite the description of the room stating that it is private, from the photos I thought that maybe it wasn't then I sent an email asking and they informed that the bathroom was in front of the room but it would be for our use only. When I got there I saw that it wasn't like that. the attendant tried to make me believe that private means sharing with rooms on the same floor. after complaining and sending an email with prints of what they had told me before, 2 nights later, when the room that actually has a private bathroom became available, they switched us to another room. better pay attention if the room you are in has a bathroom or not, regardless of what you have in the booking information. the shared bathroom was dirty for 2 days and when they went to clean it I realized that the cleaning was done badly

Great Prague Hostel!

Great kitchen setup, loads of hostel tours/classes etc, unfortunately didn’t work out for us to do any. Staff great - helpful & accommodating (except unfortunately for two girls on night shift) stayed in twin room -large, very quiet, beds OK. Keycode entry, safe area, close to everywhere you would want to go, walking or otherwise. Would definitely stay again. Well down Downtown Hostel!

Stayed years ago and even though it was quieter it was still fun as was with friends. Only weird thing was that my room had a shower but the actual bathroom was outside the room. Didn’t make much sense. But everything was fine as always

Location is key but staff commitment for an enjoyable stay is paramount. Michiel made sure all guests were having a holiday they wound not forget. He goes out of his way taking guests on activities much more than expected. Quality and excellence are his natural characteristics while providing exceptional customer service. Nice hostel, great location

Nice hostel with choice of rooms. I can't use an upper bunk, but they have rooms with just single beds in them which was really nice. Beds all had nightstands and reading lamps. Ensuite bathroom and lockers. They had a big kitchen and common area, but there was a charge for breakfast. Great location.

value for money but horrible bed with street noise

Location was great. Walking distance to everything in old town. quite a few eating & drinking joints around. This also makes it noisy if you get rooms facing the road - noise of the trams and ppl from the street can be heard loudly even on the 5th floor. Common is ok - a bit worn out look. Did get very loud with some people drinking till late and being rowdy. WiFi was good most time - it was slow on my last night. They have activities everyday of the week, free dinner on Sunday (activity) & have tours too. It’s a good place to meet people. breakfast was good & freshly made in the kitchen area by friendly staff from 8-11am. Eggs, baked beans, bread, butter, jam, cheese, sausage, cold cuts, juice (watery), fresh pancakes n tea. Drinks from the machine are 30czk & available all day. Breakfast was included in my package else they charge €7 per day - I wouldn’t pay that much for it so best to get a breakfast included deal. The girls dorm (I was in 503) was forward facing & opp an office bldg. lacks privacy coz you’ve to keep windows open as room gets very hot & there is no fan (barring a small table fan) & pulling curtains won’t help. otherwise spacious. Horrible horrible beds. This hostel was absolutely amazing. Starting with the staff; they have amazing events every night! From pub crawls to beer pong, all at a very reasonable price. Their breakfast option was great in the morning. This was my first stay at a hostel and it was an amazing experience. Friendships created that will last a lifetime. My only complaint was having to share a blow dryer-there should at least be one available in the private rooms.

Wonderful hostel for backpackers

It was a great stay. We were three friends who opted for a private room with a private bath and it was great. No TVs inside but should be fine as we were out mostly anyways. The beds were clean and the room was warm during the time we stayed. Do note though that the heating has timing and if you are sleeping near the window might be a bit cold during the \"OFF\" times. Also, there's no rug inside the toilet so be prepared to slosh in water left by your friends :). Also, for everyone's info, the hostel has several flights of steps going up to the reception so it will be recommended you bring a backup instead of a luggage instead. Otherwise, this was a wonderful hostel with great people at the reception and in a neighborhood with lots of food choices and near the tram and metro stops.

Incredible hostel with great staff

I travelled alone and spent four nights in this hostel. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful and the dorm room exceeded my expectations. The hostel organises events such as sightseeing tours and cooking lessons. I went on a few evenings out with other guests and some of the staff. Marta and Ben made me feel extremely welcome and safe while touring the local pubs at night. I returned for a night a week after my first stay before my flight home. Marta remembered me, showed me to my room and sorted everything out for me. You can hire essential items from reception such as towels which I found useful. I was very sad to leave after my second stay but I'm sure I'll be back at some point next year.

We were in Prague for 2 nights and this was a perfect spot for us. The staff was friendly and helpful. The space was exactly what we expected. The breakfast was great and they have a change machine making it easy to change currencies with no added fee. It is also right next to a meteor stop and an ATM. We would stay again.

Clean and comfortably air-conditioned! Commonly used items available for lent for deposit only!

Lots of events to keep guests engaged and are very helpful to travelers.

But not-included the breakfast a bit not worth it. And they tend to miss the door bell.

Location wise, although not near to metro, it is very near to the riverside, which has plenty of trams and tourist attractions.

Great location, great service. Close to the train and grocery. I stayed in a female only room and the room is very spacious, even has a small couch and coffee table. I didn’t get a chance to participate in the events but there seem to be a events everyday. Nice staff. Bed is pretty comfy.

OUTSTANDING! MUST STAY FOR SOLO TRAVELERS

This hostel is AMAZING! My first stay in a hostel (though not my first solo travel experience) and I had the most incredible experience here. Such a friendly and social environment where I met so many great friends. Friendly staff and great events and tours organised by the hostel. Perfect location just minutes away from Charles Bridge.

My fellow backpackers all told me it was the best hostel they'd ever stayed in! Clean and modern with en-suite bathroom in each dorm. Couldn't fault it. If you're planning a trip solo trip to Prague I would really reccomend you stay here, it's great fun. I can't wait to come back soon. Thanks Downtown!

The best experience

Hostel Downtown was the best experience EVER. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Shoutout to Katie! They have plans for the day and the night and host their own events as well (including free dinners). The rooms bathrooms and amenities are all clean and it is centrally located. I met some incredible people and truly have 0 complaints.
