The room has a bathtub with the shower. The tub was very high up and very dangerous to get out by US standards.

Very disappointed with the breakfast service. In order to get to the food, we had to go down a set of stairs and then carry our food and drinks upstairs. It was disappointing that the staff did not assist with drinks.

The restaurant staff was not very accommodating as we wanted to use the outside sitting restaurant area to review the itinerary with the group and we were not allowed- still not quite sure why. We were told we needed to go to the bar, but there were not enough sits available for our party of 6.

Lobby area is very limited and not conducive if traveling with a group.

The room itself was very nice and so was most of the front desk staff.

Very good location though and nice dining options very close by.

Room was dark and dingy we had a deluxe suite. Holes in the wall tiles falling out in bathroom. First night got a call at 1030 pm as our luggage was delayed and delivered no assistance given until young man at front desk saw me dragging luggage up the stairs elevator was up a flight of stairs. Breakfast was in a small cramped space. This was definitely not 5 star. They had no top layer sheets but comforters; room went from 17c to 22 Celsius. We were advised it was centrally controlled not sure what the purpose of the thermostat was. Central to main highlights 3 min walk to Center.

The rooms are spacious and luxurious.
Breakfast at the Deer restaurant is definitely worth adding on!
2 minute walk to the astronomical clock and Old Town Square. Price was certainly reasonable for the convenience and comfortable stay.

The hotel is nicely situated in the old town and the room was clean and characterful. The staff helpful and friendly and the food in the restaurant lovely. However, our junior suite (which I cannot see any photos of on the website) was located on the ground floor, the only natural light coming from a floor length stained glass door which was directly off a pathed alleyway connecting 2 streets directly through the hotel. It had no view or opening window for any fresh air. The room was directly opposite the restaurant and next to the lobby toilet. The small entrance to the room was the maid store so this made it loud from 0700 through to around 11pm. We could hear hand driers, waste water from all directions past our room and the noisy restaurant all day. Admittedly we didn’t complain to the reception as we only had a 1 night stay. The hotel boasts 5 stars, our room seemed more 3 star so fairly disappointing for the price.

Superb location, fantastic building, good breakfast, great chef, the bathroom could have a step stool (the tab wall is as tall as the Great Wall of China), shower bracket and better curtain, but I can live with that and maybe it’s normal in Prague, staff can pay more attention to guests, no kidding the tips are automatically included in the check, they don’t need to deserve them, so they definitely don’t try. Again, location, room, food, views are all stars.

The staff do an amazing job at maintaining the historic charm of the property and it truly has all the amenities you need at a very fair price. Hotel was in good location but we booked junior suite and paid premium price but they gave a regular room saying its junior suite category and next to kitchen area.
There was lot of noise of dishes and we couldn't sleep well.

Very lovely property in a location in Old Town. Short walk to Old Town Square. Our room was a good size, had a kettle and coffee/tea supplies, cups and saucers and glasses-as well as a mini-fridge. It was furnished with antique style wooden furniture. From glancing in other rooms, I think that the rooms were all different from each other. Unfortunately, we had a room over a very busy street and there was quite a lot of noise from passers-by all night.
We opted to add the breakfast buffet to our room charges. There were many delicious options to choose from. There was a lovely courtyard area in the hotel with both a glassed-in section where we had breakfast and an outdoor area where we sat to have our included glass of prosecco.
The only real complaint that we have is that at check-in, we were asked to pay a service fee of 200 koruna per day in lieu of tipping the staff. We did not like this as tipping is for service received not for service to be received. Also, this works out to an extra $50.00+ in Canadian funds over 4 nights which we considered too much. Not so bad if your currency is Euros or US $. It was something that concerned me throughout our stay and we did provide a payment when we left. I think this practice might happen in other hotels in Prague as well.

The room and bathroom (535) were spotless, all the staff were friendly and attentive, breakfast was better than expected, location was fantastic to get into the Old Town Square within 5 mins. Plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants within less than a minutes walk from the hotel. Value for money.

This hotel was nice and the rooms were large. What we didn’t like was the automatic tipping. When we were checking in they added a suggested tip of 12.5% for the receptionist and other staff and said it was not mandatory but almost felt like they wanted to guilt you into tipping. Other then that food was great and I would stay here again.

I recently stayed at Iron Gate Hotel & Suites and overall had a pleasant experience. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a lot of charm and thoughtful details throughout the property that make it feel unique and elegant. The location is also very convenient for exploring the city.

One thing to note is that my room faced the street, and at night it could get quite loud from outside noise, which made sleeping a bit difficult at times.

The staff was overall okay. They were polite and handled what was needed, but I wouldn’t say the service went above and beyond. It felt more like the bare minimum rather than a particularly warm or memorable hospitality experience.

Overall, it’s a lovely hotel with character and a great atmosphere, especially if you appreciate historic details, but I would recommend requesting a quieter room if possible.

The breakfast was bufet, sumptuous and similar to other hotels in that category. What American tourists need t be aware of is that European hotel policies regarding air conditioning are restrictive and you may not have it available many times even ina 4 or 5 star hotel. the front desk staff were superb, friendly, helpful and polite. They were also informative and suggested on short notice a gided tour which was as good as any I have ever had.

The hotel is beautiful, both the courtyard and the room. The breakfast is good, with a variety to choose from. We were given a room with the loft, which we did not think about the bath room being on the lower ground (not convenient at night), and difficuly to walk the stairs at the end of touring the city. Also, one needs to be mindful about the roof of the loft when getting up from the bed. It is very central, so that is a good point. We also ate at beautiful restaurant one night; there was piano playing and the food was good.

I'd definitely stay there again as it was quiet, off the street and yet very accessible to the Charles bridge and the square.

Beautiful hotel in perfect area accessible to everything. Was surprised when I got here being charged an extra 35 euros per night for my husband to share the room. Just not something Ive ever experienced in the states. So just be sure to enter how many people will be in the room when booking. Didn't have the breakfast here. You cannot control the temperature in the room yourself. It was a bit too warm for us and was advised to open the windows. The hot water is not that hot in the morning but very hot in the evening. The hotel is very beautiful and decorated wonderfully.

The good: great location in the heart of old town Prague. It is in a historical building with luxurious decor from the 14th to 18th century = very authentic vibe to the place. The staff were very helpful and the included breakfast was good quality.It also has a high end restaurant that we didn’t have time to try.

The not so good: we were told we got upgraded to a superior suite. Since it was on the top floor, the low beams and slanted ceilings had us ducking the whole time. If you’re taller than 5’10”, watch your head. The old, raised bath & shower with a beam in it required gymnastics to get in & out of, too long shower curtain that you couldn’t help but step on, no real coffee in room, uncomfortable pillows, weak to non-existent wifi. These are all small things that added up to a less than ideal experience for the price.

Summary: great location with authentic historical decor and excellent staff, but know that you’re sacrificing some of the smaller comforts of a higher end hotel.

Coffee and food was very expensive. The cafes near the hotel were half the price, and sometimes better. It was very noisy inside and outside the hotel. We would not stay there again.

We recently stayed 4 nights and our room was located at the front of the hotel on the 2nd floor.

First impressions were great, check in was smooth, bags taken to room and was shown how to use TV, mini bar usage the usual but always nice to have.

Room was marvellous, son stayed downstairs with his bathroom and myself and wife in the master room, very unique and loved the set up of it.

Now here is the big problem and it’s not the hotels fault it has bars, restaurants opposite and all on the same street. It gets loud and I mean really loud, you would hear groups of lads drunk singing, women screaming and this can go on until 3/4 in the morning. I didn’t have a full nights sleep during my stay, like I said not the hotels fault just more the location.

Breakfast was great in the morning plenty of selection to be had, bar is great really comfortable and decent cocktails from bartenders.

We did have a hot water issue on one day which we flagged to be told everyone is probably showering and to try later, well I’m only here a few days so not waiting to shower. We resolved this by getting up earlier and not the normal 8am but this is a 4 star hotel you expect a little better here.

A pleasant stay but I would pick a different hotel when I come back.

However, they accommodated us, which we highly appreciated. (I lived in NYC for many many years...so have a high threshold for the nightlife/trucks/emergency traffic all day and night ;)

The location is great.
The accommodation is good.
The orange juice at breakfast isn’t good - it’s watery - and the scrambled eggs you could bounce off a wall. However the rest of the breakfast was nice.
The staff are lacking charm or interest. Reception, breakfast and the bar were all the same - no warmth or willingness to engage. They just sit (Reception) or stand there (bar and breakfast ), often just flicking thru their mobile phones. They don’t seem to really want to be there - and it made me feel the same.

This hotel is very centrally located to many attractions in Prague. The room was great and the staff were very attentive. I liked that they would exchange dollars for korunas at the desk for a very reasonable rate. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
