Pros:
The breakfast bar area is beautiful and really well set up — one of the highlights of the stay. Staff were very helpful and friendly, and the showers had easy, reliable hot water which was a big plus.

Cons:
Some rooms are extremely cramped, which can feel uncomfortable. If you’re on a top bunk, be careful — the beds aren’t against the walls, so pillows can easily fall off in the night. I also had an unpleasant experience where I was shouted at for using a toilet that was free in the next section, being told I had to stick to “my own” area, which felt unnecessary and unwelcoming. There are no privacy curtains on the beds, not all storage lockers actually lock (it’s a bit of a lucky dip), and the bed lighting/charging points are inconsistent — some beds have older lights, while others have modern LED lights that brighten the whole room (so you feel bad for switching them on) and poor sockets.

Overall:
This place has some lovely touches and very helpful staff, but it’s let down by inconsistent facilities and some strange rules. If you don’t mind a few inconveniences, you may enjoy it, but it’s not the most comfortable or private hostel stay I’ve had.

Paid a little extra, and it was definitely worth it. Very comfy bed and pillows. Everything had a clean feel to it. If I'm back in town, I'd love to stay here again.

Did not like the hostel overall. Very depressing entrance and staff giving you directions on what to do and how. Unpleasant smell when you step in the dorm. In conclusion, definitely not recommended..!

I usually don’t stay in Hostels but there was some holidays in Prague (also a Marathon) thst jacked up prices everywhere so decided to try this place. It turned out to be a very nice stay, comfortable beds with privacy screens and very clean washrooms and showers. Breakfast was at additional cost but was delicious. Also has an elevator - room was on 4 floor (mine was 6 beds). Rooms are quiet time after 10. I used my ear plugs and eye mask (as I hadn’t sleep for 24 hrs) and slept like a baby. Each bed has a plug for phone charging as well. Very nice experience overall - walked everywhere from hotel.

Great hostel, the breakfast offering (160 / 220 czh for hot breakfast) was fantastic and great value for money. The shared kitchen is well equipped. They have a bar and was handy to pick up a hot drink on the go.

Location: It's 10-15 mins walk to the main attractions. 5 mins walk to I P Pavola metro station / Štěpánská tram stop.

Towels are available to rent for 30 czh and deposit of 100 czh (note that require cash only, but there's a bank ATM 1 min away).

I'd highly recommend the traditional Czech restaurant U Dlabačů also 1 min walk away.

The staff were friendly no matter what time of day. The bed was clean, and massive pillow which I loved! The downside was the snorer on the first night but it’s not the hostel’s fault and it’s part of the risk of staying in a shared accommodation. If these are things you hate, pay for a private room. The other people in my room were friendly and gave me tips for my next trip. I was apprehensive in staying in a hostel but I wanted to save so I can book an experience in the city and I made the perfect choice. Clean, airy and convenient location.

I stayed in the 5 women dorm and it was perfect. Didn't realize there was a separate kitchen/eating area. That was great! The room itself was huge and super comfortable for 5 people, especially no bunk beds!! I can't say enough how much i loved the pillow! LOL... the entire stay was above my expectation. Staff super friendly and helpful. A totally 5 star experience! Thank you Sophie's Hostel! 😊👍

3 nights stay in Prague

Stayed for 3 nights. The location is quite nice as it’s very close to subway station. However, tram is the main transportation around the city so you need to expect 5-7 mins to the station. Staff at the hostel are very friendly and lift inside the property is a plus.

It was my first experience in a hostel, and I must admit that it was very nice. The facilities in general are very clean, and are very similar to the pictures. However, what I would recommend this hostel for is its friendly atmosphere, the place is run by young friends, and they organize activities and excursions for the guests to integrate, so if you are travelling alone it makes it easy to make friends. Additionally, it is very well located, the metro station is less than 5 minutes walk away.

Great place! Cool bar/cafe area, lovely building, super clean and nice rooms, has a hotel vibe in terms of comfort over a hostel! Only bad things, room door so creaky kept waking everyone up. Wasn’t overly female solo traveller friendly, I stayed in mixed dorms but they were more like male dorms. If possible try get female rooms! Staff very helpful though.

I stayed a week in lovely Prague. The accommodation was really good and so handy. Trams and the Metro are easy to use, and more or less on the doorstep. Breakfast there was lovely and a low price. Staff were lovely.
The only downside was that some guests (on my last night) were not considerate of other guests.

Sophie’s hostel in Prague

Sophie’s hostel is very clean, the staff was great. It’s a little walk to the main square below the national museum but no biggie. I would recommend to anyone if you are backpacking around spend a little more and stay here.

Overall Great Stay

The all female dorm was surprisingly large and spacious. It is quite modern, with a private bathroom and kitchen. The beds each had a shelf and a light. The room was very large and there was only one fan, which was not really enough in the hot weather. We slept with the windows open. A couple drawbacks: they have a wooden floor which moves when people walk on it, so when you were trying to sleep you could tell when people were moving around and the lockers are pull out drawers under the bed so you could hear them when people were opening them. I didn’t have the best sleep, even with earplugs. Overall a modern and lovely place. I didn’t use the bar, but they had events and things going on. I would stay again if I was in the area.

Sophie's Hostel is a real gem - I was in a 5 bed female dorm with single (not bunk) beds with en suite kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen had a fridge, oven/cooktop and crockery/cutlery. Everything was spotless and each bed had a shelf, reading light, coat hanger and plug socket.

It was a quick and easy check-in and -out with friendly staff. I didn't use the bar/communal area but breakfast and alcohol could be purchased (not sure about other meals). Although a bit of a walk to the Old Town Square / Charles Bridge / Castle, the area felt safe and was close to the train and trams. There were plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby.

I loved the design of all building and furnitures, lobby bar was so cosy and cute. Having a semi-private bathroom in the room was amazing. Staff was so kind and friendly, I was only dissapointed they didn’t have laundry but they suggested and guided a laundry near hostel so I didn’t have any problem. I would definitely choose Sophie’s for the next time.

Sophie's Hostel is conveniently situation only minutes from Vaclavske Namnesti and a Metro station. The staff were super friendly, spoke several languages and were knowledgable about things to do in Prague. The accommodation was clean, well set out and useful (lockable trunks were provided). I loved the fact that there are female rooms only. The only issue I could possibly speak of was other travellers being noisy when coming in late, but hey that is a courtesy issue. I loved my stay and will return to Sophie's when I again travel to Prague.

Tesco express is within short walking distance. The hot water for shower was not working this time which I have forgotten to report to the front desk.

Great staff, good location plus price, amazing breakfast and drinks menu....but I stayed in room 1D in the first bottom bed at the left, for two nights only and I can only put one fault, bed bugs. I realised I was bitten after my second night and still wasn't sure what was from. I spent most of my time out so only really stayed few hours to sleep and eat breakfast. It's a shame as other than that it was ok.

I really enjoyed my stay here. Beds were comfortable and facilities were great. I stayed in an all girls dorm, which was like a mini apartment. It included a kitchen which came in very handy. Very affordable and is located right next to a tram and metro station making getting around the city very easy! I would definitely recommend staying here!

Room and ensuite bathroom + kitchen are clean and well maintained! I love the fact that the kitchen is ensuite! Fridge, stove, hotspot, utensils… everything else you may need is provided!

No bunk beds and extremely spacious, though the 5th bed is laid out in an awkward position near the windows.

Definitely one of the best I’ve stayed in, no complaints!

An excellent hotel style room at hostel pricing.

Sophie's Hostel was one of my favourite places I stayed while in Europe. While it is called a hostel, the private room we had was very luxurious. The room had a very contemporary style with a floating bed, solid timber night stands, and a practical feature wall. the bathroom was clean and spacious, with decent toiletries provided.

Happy hour at the hostel bar had very reasonably priced beer and house wine.

The hostel was very central and in walking distance to most things. It was clean and tidy and the staff were lovely. The only fault I could possibly pick up on was that the room door was very hard to shut, leading to most of my roommates not bothering to shut it, which was a bit uncomfortable.

What stood out to me was the service and the quality of the showers. Everyone working there was really nice and made my stay much more enjoyable. The bathrooms were fantastic and were definitely a highlight - it's nice to come back to a good shower. It's close to Praha main station and is on the tram line that goes to Prague castle.

Perfect hostel close to Staré Město!

This hostel was the cleanest and nicest hostel I have ever stayed in! It is very modern, comfortable, quiet, and stylish, with lots of character. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It is about a 20 minute walk to the old town, and easily accessible by tram or metro. I highly recommend!

This was a cool hostel!!!

The ambience was fantastic! The rooms were clean and comfortable! Out of my 3-day stay, I only had roomies one night, so technically I had the room to myself for most of the time!

The breakfast was 7€ and well worth it! The WiFi connection was amazing and available at all times, in any location of the hostel.

Metro stop is a 5-min walk. There are several restaurants nearby but most of them close at 10pm.

I would stay here again!!

I booked a bed on Female Dorm, 5 Beds (Ensuite). It comes with private kitchen & toilet. The staff is very helpful. Easy to locate. From I.P. Pavlova train station exit turn left walk straight to the direction of Hotel Ankora - Novotel-Ibis, it is just opp. Ibis. They provide very good walking tour with min tipping to the tour guide. Must visit restaurant - Pivovarský dům

I absolutely loved my stay at Sophie's hostel. It was very clean, and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would most definitely recommend this hostel to my friends as I absolutely fell in love with Prague, and this was the second hostel I have ever stayed at. What i enjoyed most about this hostel was that it was in a much less crowded and quieter neighborhood than being by the bridge and Castle. It is an easy/beautiful 30 minute walk to the bridge, or a quick 10 minute tram ride. Thank you Sophie's!

It is a very cool hostel with awesome interior design. It is a bit far out in the city, but there is a bus stop just a few step away, making it easily accessible to the city's center. Furthermore, it only a 5 minute walk from a huge park! :D

The bed, however, was not very comfortable and there are no lockers.

The staff are very nice and friendly with a more intimate interactions.

Lovely Place

I have stayed 2 nights in a girls dorm and 4 in a private room.
The dorm is good but it can get a bit noisy with all people coming and going. This Hostel is popular and with loads of rooms. A great characteristic of this dorm is the apartment features of it. So, there is a cool kitchen and a bathroom exclusively for this dorm. A downsize is that there is only one bathroom, instead of bathroom stalls with a couple showers and toilets.

The private apartment is excellent, very clean, spacious, with a comfortable bed. I really liked the decoration of the hostel in general. Staff is kind, helpful and knowledgeable.
Miss Sophie's Hostel and Hotel are very well located you can get a tram right on the corner (4 minute walk or less) or you can simply walk to places (7 to 10 minute walk to Wesceslaus Square for instance ).
Hostel has a handy elevator, breakfast is simple and very good and the breakfast area is very cute.
I enjoyed my stay and I recommend it :)

Upscale amenities at an extremely affordable price

This hostel is really great! It's extremely clean and modern. The apartment set-up is very unique and a cute style. Reception is friendly and knowledgeable, the bed is comfortable, and the location is prime. No complaints whatsoever except for the heat - It gets very hot at night. If you aren't bothered by that, you will sleep well and have a perfect stay. Despite the temperature, I enjoyed my time there. It's a quiet hostel (though I stayed on weekdays, so I can't say what it's like on weekends). If you're looking for a crazy party, this is probably not the place for you (Everyone in my room was asleep before midnight). There's a breakfast/brunch buffet for an additional (affordable) cost, and it's well worth the price. The hostel offers a free tour every morning, and they host events every night. The common space is nice, and there's a low-key bar with a daily happy hour. Finally, this place is so affordable! I definitely felt like I got more than what I paid for. Highly recommended!

You might want to note - Miss Sophie's has both a hotel and hostel. We stayed in the hotel and really enjoyed it. Management were very helpful. Rooms were lovely and had a 'boutiquey' feel. Bathrooms were very modern and clean. About a 25 minute walk or 10 minute tube ride to Wenceslas Square.

Miss Sophies is by far the most home like place to stay. The room was lovely big bed loads of pillows. The room was so clean and i loved the bathroom. The location is perfect right next to the metro had to change train once but overall it was 3 stops to new town and cost 18 crown for the pass.The trains came every 2 minutes so there was no nees to rush around and wait for the train. The main thing was that it was easy enough with the directions on the website to get the bus and metro and miles cheaper than a taxi. There was some work going on in the rooms above but that didnt even ruin our stay. Faultless

This hotel was really great. It was clean and each area has its own restrooms so you're not sharing with a while floor. The hostel rooms were updated and each person gets a big locker to them self (bring your own padlock). Location isn't to far from the center. I stayed in a 10 person dorm and it was good.

Beautiful hostel. Amazing staff!

It's steps away from Metro station. Right on a direct tram line to Prague Castle. Excellent location. Hotel staff is exceptionally helpful, friendly, knowledgeable. The bathroom floor is easily wet after a shower. Guests do not care to dry them and tread everywhere wet. That we cannot control, but even the staff do not dry the floor when they come to clean the bathroom during the day. The under the bed storage box is noisy when being dragged in and out. Other than that, it's an exceptional hostel.

Homey stay

I highly recommend this budget hostel. It's very homey, well decorated, good location. The staff are very friendly and informative. They also provide breakfast for extra 175kc; basic breakfast such as bread, salami, cheese, yogurt, cornflakes, fruits, and you can order 1 dish such as scramble egg and fried bacon, french toast, etc. and coffee. Anyway, this hostel is quite small so there is no public space/ facility to meet other travelers (new friends).

I love this place!

When I arrived here, a staff at the reception desk showed lots of nice places to visit in Prague because I stayed here for sightseeing. The staff were really warm-hearted and kind. The dorm room I stayed in was clean and large. It was comfortable and I could sleep well. I will recommend here to you if you want a reasonable and comfortable dorm room. Thank you!

Great location...clean and good facilities

Great place for backpackers...3 toilets per dorm...the facilities was worth the money..near to trem station... 10 minutes walk to the main square...overall...i would recommend this hotel for backpackers. The staff even very helpful and fluently english speaking

Great hostel with amazing helpful staff

Great hostel to stay in with a lovely breakfast, staff were very helpful. Only downside was having no wifi in our room when we moved to a better room in the main building. Would stay again definitly.

I like everything about my stay here except the bathroom lights which can turn off automatically during my shower if the sensor does not detect my presence.
