Almost everything about the hotel was great. The staff was helpful; the room was very clean and quiet; the location was fantastic. They also provided breakfast with more options than what most hotels offer.

The only downside was that our room was really too hot to sleep comfortably in. Our AC was set to 16C, and while we could occasionally feel cool air, the room never got close to a comfortable sleeping temperature. In fairness, we never told the staff; if we had, they might have fixed the AC or switched our room.

Arrived very late, warm greeting by name, quick check in. Room reasonable and modern.

Great view of small park with local market in the morning.

No noise issues, very convenient for metro and tram.

Good breakfast choice and even just before closing lots of hot food and breads etc.

Very good hotel at a reasonable price - likely to be my first choice for future visits.

The Clarion is one of my two “go to” hotels in Prague, for me the location is ideal (close to 2 metro lines and trams), close to flats of friends, and offers a good quality / value combination. Rooms are clean and comfortable, large showers, great breakfast, friendly staff.

Great Location ! Next door to galleria Shopping Complex ( HUGE ), S/Mkts, food, shops. Tram station right at front door. Alt market about 50 mtrs away. Most attractions within a few hundred mtrs walk. I Absolutely would stay here again ! I Would Not even consider anywhere else. Hop on Bus tours on opposite side of road and walk about 100 mtrs. Taxi to Main Train station about 10 mins and about 9 Eur. Excellent !!!

Nice hotel but over priced for what you get

The staff were very friendly and generally helpful (other than when I asked about a free walking tour that I had read about, and then went on to do - they told me free tours didn't exist and tried to get me to pay for a tour they advertise). I was however disappointed that the double room I had booked was two single beds pushed together. We were also not provided with a 'do not disturb sign' so had house cleaning come into the room in the morning a couple of times. Overall, the hotel was clean and in a good location, although I wouldn't consider it to be good value for money.

A recently modernised, small comfortable tourist hotel convenient and centrally located, everything is as it should be. This hotel its run like a small family business, with member of staff going above and beyond to make help and make you feel welcomed and at home. Although lacking many facilities like restaurants and bar within the hotel other boutique hotels I have visited could learn valuable lessons about corporate hospitality from this hotel, who are less corporate and more hospitality focused. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a friendly good quality value for money base to visit Prague. Good job Clarion.

I stayed for 10 nights at this hotel in June/July 2015 and found this to be a very reliable hotel for a business trip. I experienced no problems and had a very pleasant stay. All staff were very helpful, friendly, and professional. The breakfast buffet was comprehensive! The room was clean, spacious, well-lit, comfortable, with reliable wifi and a great shower. The location and neighborhood are excellent: about a 10-15 minute walk to the bottom of Wenceslas Square, and right on the Tram 22 and I.P. Pavlova metro stop. The pretty square in front of the hotel holds a daily market with fresh produce and other things. There is a nice pub (Matylda) on the corner that serves good food (both traditional as well as pizza), and the lovely surrounding neighborhood holds several coffee shops and even a vegan restaurant within a five-minute walk.

The only drawback was my inability to open the windows, and the lack of the second floor terrace. While some nights were warm (and the room climate control was quite welcome), I wished most nights that I could open the windows for fresh air. There was a small terrace on the second floor, and while the advertisement pictures showed people sitting out there, the terrace was closed and off-limits during my visit. These are small complaints for someone needing a reliably clean and comfortable accommodation.

An oasis, with very accommodating front desk staff

This was our first trip to Prague, and we opted for a \"non-Old Town\" location, based on other reviews we'd read that told of sleepless nights (due to street noise and celebratory activities), and a dearth of amenities, (such as air-conditioning, in-room bathroom facilities, room furnishings), etc. We were thrilled with our stay at the Clarion Hotel Prague City.
Our breakfast was included everyday, and that was appreciated, because of the unwavering heat, [daily temperatures ranged from 89 -103 degrees (F), during our stay, in July'15], and not having to leave the hotel to eat breakfast in an air-conditioned, breakfast restaurant, each day was a very pleasant start to each day. [US \"oldies, from the 80's & 90's\", played on the sound system each morning], very reminiscent of the station I listen to daily, back in the states, so I felt right at home. The front desk staff accommodated every request we had, from arranging cabs, dinner reservations, and other normal requests, to arranging for a 1 night hotel reservation for some other visitors we'd met during our stay from the US, who were sweltering in their Old Town hotel, through the heat wave, and needed some relief before traveling back to the US. The housekeeping staff was very efficient, and would turn-over our room each morning, with clean linens daily, while we ate breakfast. The neighborhood had a great selection of sidewalk cafes, and the convenience of being only 2 stops from Old Town on the Metro was terrific.

The Hotel was very clean and the staff were extremely respectful and helpful.
We used the Cab service through the Hotel to pick us up and drive us back from and to the airport, it made our travel experience a lot more enjoyable. we felt like stars leaving the airport.
There is a Metro Station not too far from the hotel, and as usual, Homeless people tend to hang out around the metro entrances. it wasn't dangerous at all but extremely busy.
In general, i do recommend to stay at this hotel.

The Clarion is in a perfect location for anyone who wants to get out and about in Prague. Next to the IP Pavlolva Metro stop and a major Tram terminus, especially for the 22 which is the tourist tram. The hotel is clean and efficient. There are several excellent restaurants nearby to serve all tastes.

amazing City! Giid Hotel!

lovely clean Hotel and very Friendly. Rooms were cleaned everyday with fresh bedding abd Towells . Breakfast was very good,. Free trams into the city that run ever few minutes no 22 , takes about 5 minutes to the Square. Dont go to the pub on the same street very dirty, gamblers for the locals but its horrible inside . The City is beautiful , but avoid eating Drinking on the square you get wripped off!!! The next few streets back are much cheaper and the restaraunts are Amazing! Jazz clubs are brill to !

Oh go to the pub Daminka just down the street from Hotel great beer and food very cheap ! goulash is devine!

Having Been to Prague many times we need a hotel away from the frantic tourist jammed city centre but close enough to dip in and out if we needed to. we returned to the Clarion because the location is perfect for metro and excellent bars and restaurants nearby. I stayed 4 nights in The Clarion Hotel Prague City in June 14. It was a very clean well appointed hotel, welcoming staff and great value for money for a 4 star rating. My room was large, comfortable and very clean and so was the bathroom. Plenty of choice for breakfast too.The location was close to Wenceslas Square and a 20 min walk to/ from the Old Town Square, not too far but a bit of a trek back after a long day's walking around the City. I really enjoyed my stay and would come again.

The hotel was very good. My issues were fairly minor. Firstly, I was \"bumped\" into another hotel for my first night, despite having booked months earlier, and had the feeling that the chance to accept a group booking was judged to be more important than my solitary night. Returning for \"part 2\" of my stay for 4 nights the next week, I had a pleasant time, the room was nice and clean, and the bath was big and lovely. Two things I didn't like...the bath/shower had very high sides, I think an older person might struggle to make the \"leap\"! It seemed almost a bit dangerous stepping out. Secondly, I didn't like the bed style...it was a double bed as requested, but only kind of, it was like two single beds pushed together with two single doonas. Also the TV was very distant from the bed (the price of a big room, I guess...my room 101 was lovely and large). The staff were first class (\"Andrei\" gave me a very thorough and most polite introduction to my room, and I was impressed when a female receptionist spontaneously remembered my name) and the food in the restaurant was also very good. The buffet breakfast was good, and I appreciated that they were prepared to cook my favored fried eggs when they didn't appear in the buffet.Overall, my stay met expectations but did not exceed them. Next year, I will probably choose the Novotel, which was the hotel they bumped me into, as it had the style of bed I prefer.

Modern, clean, elegant--don't eat their breakfast

Amazing hotel. Totally 4 stars! Everything about it was clean, comfortable, picturesque. The staff was very helpful and (unlike most Czechs) cheerful. The closet area set-up at the entry of the room was incredibly spacious and so was the bathroom. They need to give the shampoo and shower gel in small botels and NOT in those ridiculously inconvenient ketchup-like packets. Never saw one smudge of dirt anywhere in the hotel-totally wowed. But beware of their breakfast! The spread is gorgeous and there is food a'plenty, but it's AWFUL! The eggs were really watery, the meats were cold, over-salted and disgusting and the quality of the bread was subpar. I believe I may have gotten food poisoning from it. It was just gross food from stem to stern. There's a million places to have breakfast in Prague, so stay the heck away from Clarion's! Take my (and my poor stomach's) word for it. I would definitely stay here again and maybe even have dinner at their restaurant, but that's it.

the hotel is situated close to the tram and it is about 20-30 mins walk to old town square. we also tried a restaurant about 10-15 minutes walk down the road (recommended by lonely planet) and that was very convenient too.

Perfect for Prague

Great for a weekend trip to the city. The hotel is kind of in 'the other direction' from the old town when you come out of the train station but it's not a big deal, as it is very walkable. When visiting the castle we just took the metro from the hotel the 3 or 4 stops up to the castle then just made our way back throughout the day. Hotel was very clean, modern and friendly. It's very close to the Opera house so we went too see a performance on the Saturday night which was an excellent experience and great value for money. Would definitely recommend this place to friends.

Hotel was in a relatively central location; the main shopping area is about a 10 minute walk - and all other sights were easily accessible on foot also. Well connected for the main train station, the metro red line and a number of trams. Rooms were a good size, clean and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We went away for my boyfriends birthday - when we came back to our hotel at the end of the day (on his birthday), there was a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine on ice and strawberries in the room for him - a wonderful touch and definitely not expected. Breakfast wasn't 'amazing' but we were there quite late in the service. That said, they offered everything you could possibly need (both hot and cold) and I still enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend staying here and would again if we return.

We had the pleasure of staying at this lovely hotel over Christmas 2013. We were met by smiling and attentive staff who spoke very good English. The rooms (2 of them) were clean, modern and well appointed with all the little extras you'd expect. I would recommend room 207 a it was a little larger and had a nice view of the square outside.

The breakfast buffet is well stocked and fresh, and the chef apparently does omelette to order. We also dined in the restaurant for dinner and the menu was modern, well presented and good value.
The hotel is well placed as the metro station I P Pavlova line C is just at the end of the street and many tram lines also ruin close by. It is only 1 stop by metro to Wenceslas square and the national museum and state opera.

I would highly recommend this lovely hotel to anyone staying in this great city.
N.B. just beware the taxis on the street and at the railway station. They are unregulated and will charge unsuspecting foreigners exorbitantly high rates for short trips. Pre book a taxi or car through the hotel to meet you at the railway station or airport.

Beds could be better

Two single beds were firm but not very comfortable really, not much depth in the beds to be honest. I did get a good night sleep for 3 of 3 nights of my stay. The breakfast had everything you could want from dried to fresh fruit, and the eggs, sausages etc. The condition of the hotel was really good and much better than I expected. I would re-visit this hotel as there is a lot of Prague within walking distance of the hotel Clarion. On reflections, the one thing that could be improved would be the bed but good value overall.

Hotel was very close and within walking distance to all major attractions we only used the tram service once to get to the castle. It was surrounded by local bars and restraunts all reasonably priced.
On arriving at the hotel we were greater by friendly male staff member who was very helpful throughout our stay.
Hotel was reasonably priced and very clean and tidy and rooms cleaned daily. We took advantage of the free breakfast.

Overall a very satisfied stay. The hotel rooms are modern, reasonably spacious and with good quality bathrooms and shower. Rooms very clean. Reception staff were helpful with advice on surrounding area and arranging taxis etc. Breakfast buffet has lots of choice. Hotel located near to Metro station so easy access to other parts of the city. Only thing missing was a bar and communal meeting area.

The hotel is within walking walking distance of The Castle and other sights but its also on the 22 tram route which takes you all over Prague. There is good shopping and restaurants nearby but the farmers markets opposite the hotel provide fantastic local produce. The staff we dealt with we're charming and helpful. Nice Clean Central Hotel

Great Hotel, happy mix of couples, families and singles.

Staff were excellent, and the exchange rate was fair enough.

Rooms were clean and modern.

Good value for approx 80 euro a night

Watch out for the LEGAL exchanges in the main street - the rate looks as good as the bank, but the catch is there is you only get the rate shown if you exchange 3000 euros plus - thiefs!

Staying in this hotel was a pleasure and very relaxing. I would say it is excellent value for money. The staff were extremely helpful and polite as well as speaking excellent English.
The room was well decorated, clean and extremely comfortable - especially the beds. I found the free wifi offered to every room was a useful and nice touch, although the selection of TV channels was one of the few disappointments with its limited range. Although the restaurant here is atmospheric and pleasant, I found the breakfast to be sub-standard. However, I did enjoy a delicious and well-priced evening meal there.
Overall, this is a great hotel which offers a convenient location, with a metro station around the corner. Highly recommended.

Good value, nice clean hotel for half the price

Hotel is in very good condition, it is not a 4 star hotel as per north american standards but it is a good place to stay. Not totally centric but just a block from subway and bus, easy to move from there anywhere in Prague.
I highly recommend it.

Good location just out of centre

Just stayed four nights mid Feb 2013 Hotel is very modern & clean Breakfast is a help yourself buffet which was ok. The hotel is situated just out of the centre but very easy access with trams & metro just a couple of minutes away. Old town is approx 15 minute walk. There are lots of restaurant & fast food places around the hotel which are very good value. I would stay at this hotel again if I visit Prague in the future.

Very enjoyable stay

Lovely hotel , very helpful staff needed extra tea/coffee/ and not to much trouble. Breakfast was superb something for everyone ,did not feel rushed either. Hotel in ideal position for getting around either walking or trams/metro ,room very nice comfy bed and no noise from anywhere.
Would love to go back again in the future.

Hotel was very nice, modern, clean. Comfortable bed. Updated bathroom. Staff was very friendly and helpful. In quiet section close to metro. Very safe area.

Good size room and close to public transport

The size of the room is quite good (we stay at 106) and the breakfast is also good. the location is perfect for central attractions by taking tram 22 or metro.

Great hotel to stay for city break

Very clean and comfortable room. Good breakfast and restaurant as well. Very close to metro and situated in good central location. All staff we met were friendly and helpful, Would definitely stay there again:)

Pleasant staff and lovely hotel.

All 5 out of 5 apart from breakfast - a bit short on selection and it is just out of the city cemtre giving a walk in and out of the town. apart from that great hotel.

a very average hotel

The towels had lipstick stains on them. They didn't make up our room one day -- we left in the morning and came back and they just didn't clean our room. The breakfast was ok but the service wasn't so hot.

Very good hotel!

The hotel is very well located. It is about ten minute walking distance from the Venceslas square. Close to it all without the noise and crowds. The staff was very helpful and patient. They gave us directions to everywhere we wanted to go. Breakfast was ok. Lots of sausages and eggs, type of food I personally do not like in the morning. Supermarkets and fast food places were meters away! The overall value was very good, I would definitely not hesitate to choose the same hotel if I return to Prague.

Quiet hotel. Ideal for women travelling alone.

The service was courteous and helpful.
The restaurant was very nice. Breakfast varied each day with plenty of choice. A good selection of dishes on the menu for dinner.
The hotel was very close to trams and underground.

I've never slept so well.

I couldn't fault the Hotel, and I stayed there for three weeks. The staff were really friendly - it was squeaky clean - No noise so slept better than I've probably ever slept. The area was nice, and just a short walk to Wenceslas Square, yet being just far away enough to be peaceful. There were also plenty of friendly bars locally.

lovely hotel

I chose the hotel because of the ratings etc. The hotel itself is great, very clean and polite and helpful staff. breakfast average. however please beaware that most of the attractions are a fair walk away. however there is a goof transport system which was easy to use, would suggest buying a 3 day pass and these can be used on tram, metro and bus. very good value.Reception staff were very helpful.
