Really enjoyed our stay here. We stayed in a bungalow which was much bigger than the photos suggested. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, and the room was cleaned to a high standard every day. The staff were excellent and very helpful with things like motorbike hire and taxis, and even folded our clothes for us and tidied up the room when cleaning.

The pool is lovely and right on the beach, and we enjoyed the food in the restaurant, although would note that some menu items weren’t available.

Our only minor issue was some ants in the bathroom, but it wasn’t a major problem after we cleaned it in the first day.

Overall, a really enjoyable stay with excellent staff, comfortable accommodation, and a fantastic beachfront location.

I’d recommend this place!! It’s not that far of a scooter ride to any beach on the island from here. It was very quiet and secluded at the hotel. But walk 3 minutes and you’re on a street with lots of restaurants and stuff. They have it all..restaurant at the hotel, drinks, nice view off balcony. You can book taxi service and scooter rental at front desk, they’ll arrange person to come.

Amazing location right on the beach.

Friendly staff who helped us with sorting out visa extension, motorbike rental and taxis. Cosy hut which was perfect for a couple and seconds way from the beach, pool and restaurant. The food in restaurant was amazing and very well priced. Could eat there everyday. In all, very very good value for money. Would stay for longer next time. (stayed for 3 nights). Would definitely recommend staying here.

Bungalows facing the sea were nice with A/C and good WiFi.
Slight problem at check in as I had specifically booked a room with a double bed, but only one with two single beds was available. Problem was rectified on the second day.
Friendly staff and nice restaurant. Would stay again.

This hotel was right on the the sea couldnt be any closer. The room was perfect and the staff were very friendly. I will defo return and I would love to take a lady there for a romantic getaway. The sun sets were the best i have seen. Thank you for making my stay perfect!

We loved our stay here. It was a perfect beach paradise. The villa was adorable and a great value for the price. The views from the pool were breathtaking and the service was great. We enjoyed siping coconut juice for cheap from the poolside overlooking the water. A great stop for anyone! Gorgeous sunset! About a 40 minute walk from the pier, 5 minute walk to other restaurants and had paddleboard rentals nearby as well!

Privacy and peaceful palm trees

My boyfriend and I stayed three nights here in mid August. The room was very clean and spacious, as was the bathroom, and the amazing balcony- all of which had incredible, expansive ocean-views. The hotel seems to be eco-conscious in regards to the use of water, which some might find to be inconvenient when flushing the toilet, etc. This hotel is perfect for those who want to get away from the noisy nightlife, enjoy a pristine ocean-front pool, and listen to the sound of the wind in the palms as you wake up in the morning. The beach does not offer much for swimming, but it's great for walkers and wind surfers. It's an easy ride by shared-taxi to the Half Moon party .….
You can rent a scooter for a good price at the front desk, and you'll need it to get around to some better swimming beaches.

The staff werent overly friendly. Staff had a tough time looking for our booking as well they thought we hadnt paid for the room so they tried to make us pay again. We also tried booking a cooking class through the hotel but we couldnt because the manager wasnt there, so dont rely on booking activities through this hotel. Food was pretty average. Its a 5 minute walk from the main road so the taxis wont drop you off at the door, which at night time is quite scary.

3 day stay around half moon festival, great service and free body and face paints! Nice pool area. Restaurant ok, room with AC recommendable. TV with a few channels, reception varying. Clean at first sight. Shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance.

This is the second time I stayed here. It is so clean and tidy. Staff are there to improve your holiday. For from the kitchen is very good. There is lots of fun here.
Stayed next door until my room was available. No comparison. This is the number one place to stay.

Best place for party-goers!

We booked this hotel for 2 nights for the Half Moon Party. I highly recommend this place for party goers as it ended up being a very fun experience! They organize a pre-party where people get to know each other. Bo-bo, one of the employees offer some cool painting for everyone and she also answers any questions in a very good english. Finally, they organise transport for the party.

About the hotel, we had a very basic bungalow, clean and comfortable. The hotel is directly by the water, but the Ban Taii beach is far from being the best place to do beach stuff. There's an OK pool and a very good restaurant. Very good service overall, one of the best I've seen in SEA.

Note also that this area has not much to offer, not much restaurants nor stores.

All in all, it's the best place for nearby parties!

Nice place with nice staff

I stayed two nights and this was a good budget hotel with nice staff. The pool was nice, the beach in front of the hotel wasn't great but it didn't matter at all. It was a little way out of town but I didn't mind. I was there outside of the Full Moon party period and found it quiet (maybe too quiet as I was on my own!) and relaxing, but just as I was leaving lots of people were arriving who I'm sure had a great time. They were helpful and arranged a taxi to get me to the ferry port on my last day for a reasonable price. Bobo and the other lady are really lovely and clearly care about their guests.

Best service in Thailand!

Absolutely fantastic! We loved our stay at first villa, me and my girlfriend moved here from another hotel and it was a great move. On arrival we instantly felt like family. Bobo, Mr Baby and the rest of the stuff are all great. Hands down the best customer service we have had anywhere in Thailand. We payed for the cheapest room, it was basic but we're clean and felt very cosy. We even extended our stay. I have already recommended this hotel to friends we have met on our travels and will continue to do so. The beach isn't great but the pool is nice and we rented a bike that bobo arranged for us and had a lovely time exploring after bobos helpful recommendations. If you are going to the full or half moon party you really should stay here. Bobo gets everyone together and makes a pre party and paints everyone in UV when u buy a couple of drinks. She is quite the artist! You would have to pay a lot to get it done at the event. We would love to come back soon. We felt very welcome and looked after and even got a big hug when we left. Top marks for this hotel. Love Alex and Beckys x

First Villa review

All of the people who work there are extremely kind. Especially Bobo. She's one of a kind and can help you with any issue. Baan Tai is the beach you want to stay at and you can access other parts of the island fairly easy with scooters or a taxi. The hotel itself was nice but the shower pressure is bad. The rooms are cleaned daily and there weren't any issues there. The beds are like rocks as are the pillows. Those are really the only minor complaints.

Go see Bo Bo!

The stay at First Villa was amazing and a perfect landing spot for my first week in the islands. The rooms are simple but clean and very nice by Thai standards, and were cleaned daily. AC and wifi worked great, although would have been nice to have just been provided the password rather than having to have a staff person enter it on each device.

The best part about First Villa, though, is the atmosphere. It is literally right on the beach, but also has a great pool and jacuzzi, so you have lots of options for laying out and relaxing. I stayed for the week leading up to Full Moon Party (and ended up extending for one night after), and the environment in the main lobby/restaurant area was super chill and social. This is due in large part to Bo Bo, the woman who works the front desk. She is the best! Very social, super peppy and helpful, and will be the first to introduce guest to one another. As a solo traveler, this was fantastic and ended up leading to a couple of really great nights just chilling downstairs with other guests playing games. It kind of felt like a grown-up version of a hostel essentially.

Price-wise, it was really on par with what else is in the area. Location is ok but does require about a 15 min taxi ride to Haad Rin or a 10 min bike ride to the main area of town where the pier is. Easy enough to bike around, rent a scooter, or just walk along the beach.

For my own room with AC, I don't think I could have found a better option!

Excellent Stay with Amazing Host

For the price it is excellent and you can't go wrong! We stayed here for 3 nights. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Wifi works great; we could facetime and use the internet with no problems.
It is located right on the sea which is great as you have a gorgeous view and can sometimes hear the waves crashing in. It is a quiet area with not much around it but you can rent a bike (5 minutes not even) or even walk (40 minue walk) to restaurants and shops. The people living there are extremely nice.
Steve is the most amazing part of this hotel. The first night there we sat up with him having drinks and talking for 2 hours; he has a lot of cool stories and is the nicest guy. He also took us (in his own truck) to see a hidden beach and waterfall that were the best around. He wanted to take us to some other places as well but unfortunately the weather was not cooperating. These are not things that you would be able to see on your own or in the busier parts of Phuket...they were the highlight of our stay on the island. And Steve does this for all of the guests. Essentially, Steve was the best part of this stay. He made sure we were always comfortable and happy and would go out of his way to make sure we had the best time possible. Thank you Steve for making our time in Phuket so enjoyable, we truly appreciate it!

Chambre propre, mais tout est un peu vétuste: baignoire vieillissante, robinet qui fuit, quelques insectes. C’est compensé par une vue éblouissante sur la mer en face de Koh Samui et une piscine très propre et rafraîchissante. Prix corrects. Lit spacieux, ménage réalisé quand on le demande. Tyvärr det enda som var bra.
Urusel service med en väldigt nonchalant receptionist som inte ens kunde hälsa,än mindre ta adjö av sina gäster.
Sämsta service ever.
Tog 40 minuter att få en toast och 30 minuter att få en kopp varmt vatten. Lika dålig service varje gång och vi och andra gäster valde hotellet bredvid när man skulle äta eller dricka.

Værelset var pænt og rent. Umiddelbart virkede faciliteterne også alletiders, men gennem vores ophold forværredes dette. Hotellet behöver verkligen renoveras rummet vi hade hade färg lossnat från väggarna och det va dammigt och kändes väldigt gammalt. Läget var helt okej poolen var fin med kändes inte 100% fresh överlag billigt och bra om du inte har höga krav vi checkade ut innan våran semester var klar och bytte hotell

Had a great stay here. The rooms are basic and a bit dated, but location is great. Great starting place for snorkeling trips.
Pool is nice with a poolbar and in the evening, they bbq on the beach. Staff is also very helpful and they come pick you up from the ferry.
Rooms a bit dated, but who stays in their room on. Tropical island anyways.

Wel zijn de bungalows gedateerd. De douche en wc zijn te gebruiken maar er komt niet veel water uit.

My and my family (age range: 17-59) had an unforgettable week on Koh Phangnan staying at First Villa Beach. The property is nice and has proper Thai charm - very authentic! Although one can see that the place was one of the first tourist accommodations on the island everything was clean and working. The place, although various different types of guests (families, couples, backpackers), was very quiet both during the day and at night. The location is also ideal to discover the island since everything is fairly close. The staff, mostly Burmese, were absolutely fantastic! Super friendly and always helpful but at the same time not intrusive at all. We'll definitely come again!

Hotelanlage ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Hier wurde augenscheinlich nur das Nötigste investiert. Das Badezimmer war eine mittlere Katastophe (heraus fallende Amaturen, Schimmel in den Silikonfugen, im Ventilator und in den Gardinen), fast vollständig verkalkte Duschbrause etc. Auf Reklamationen des Gastes wurde nicht eingegangen! Ebenfalls war kein Zimmerwechsel möglich! Nur 1 Handtuch pro Gast/Tag (für Poolbenutzung, Dusche und Waschbecken). Das einzigst Positive war die ruhige Lage direkt am Meer. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis hat absolut nicht gepasst!
