the room was nice but the bed matress just sitting on slippery wood keeps falling and sliding off!! light switches only near the entrance no way to turn off on room lights from bed very inconvenient at night in darkness thank god for phone flashlight. Tv remote had dead batteries inside and the fridge was unplugged when i got in the room. the pool was amazing but could not enjoy much as the water was freezing cold lots of mosquitos and hotel sits on a street full of seedy massage parlors...not exactly family friendly....

A very clean and good value hotel

It is not the Ritz ,but it is very clean ,the staff are brilliant. It is of a good standard , Breakfast is good but can be a little boring if you are their for any length of time but I enjoyed it .But we've stayed here 4 times and would have no problems staying here again. Easy to get to from the Railway station or from the new bus station , where the VIP coaches from Bangkok come and go price 200 bht arranged through Bell.

It's about a 5 minute walk to the beach and you are 3 minutes from the Market Village ,where a Tesco Lotus store may be found and in the basement a food court that provides excellent food ,very good value for money.

So don't be afraid to stay here , in my view you will be pleased.

Reasonable mid budget hotel away from centre

Welcoming, friendly staff.
Decent size room, reasonably clean. Was fairly quiet in the hotel as not many guests but you will need earplugs if its busier and if you can't sleep through the noise of the passing trains.

Hotel away from the main drag but easy enough to get anywhere on foot or by taxi. Plenty of massage parlours, bars, cafés and restaurants next to the hotel and it's also not far (10 min walk) from a great evening food market in Soi 88.

Breakfast wasn't anything special, pretty bland buffet choice and terrible coffee.

It's a reasonable mid budget hotel but I'll likely try somewhere else next time.

Pleasent stay in quieter part of Hua Hin. About half hours walk to town or about 10mins by baht bus, though if out till late evening you`ll need a taxi to get back, fare about 100 baht. reasonably close to beach but you`ll have to cross a very busy dual carraigeway road.. which requires care. Location of hotel is about half way up Soi 94 (Soi Hua Hin) from main Road before railway line. No problems with noise from trains.

Great hotel with good pool

Smile was in a good location, has lots of restaurants and massages places nearby and the staff were great, especially with the kids. Breakfast was good, although watch out for the spicy dishes! We spent a lot of time in the pool. Overall a great stay, thanks Smile.

A short stay to catch up with a close friend. Hotel was clean and well managed. Breakfast area opened onto the pool. The latter was excellent. Brekkie selection reasonable.Plenty of eating places nearby - this part of Hua Hin doesn't attract quite the crowds that nearer the beach does. Go over the railway line for some good eating enjoyed by the locals....

This was a great budget hotel with the extremely friendly staff. It was a 5 min walk to the beach or shopping mall. Breakfast buffet was included and was good. The Thai dishes were excellent. The bed was firm but very comfortable. The salt water pool was a nice touch.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice place but there are better deals for the money in Hua Hin. Rooms are basic and if you are a light sleeper you don't want to be facing the mountain view as the hotel is close to the railway and trains run all night.

- The construction mentioned in the review before is over (at least I didn't hear or see anything)

- Leisurely walk to the beach takes about 15 minutes; crossing the big road between the hotel and the beach can be intimidating during rush hours, otherwise it's a nice walk

- Very leisurely walk to the old city center (Hilton) takes about 1 hour via beach, less by the main road, or you can get a baht bus (10 baht), motorbike (80 baht) or tuk-tuk (not sure). Then again - there are not many reasons to go there, since except for the adult nightlife the neighborhood around hotel pretty much has it all - massage, restaurants, night market, etc.

All in all, definitely recommended, unless you have small children and fat vacation budget, in which case you may want to stay directly on the beach.

Nice hotel, great staff, normal breakfast, well below UK standard but have enough toast and you will be ok. If you have early check out to rail station, book your own taxi, as hotel was to provide lift, but after arranging the day before, at5.45 am and train leaves at 6, no one showed, had to get taxi, at nearly 6am, I was not happy, this was only part of hotel that let me down, 10min walk to big very clean shopping mall, great beach 10mins walk, great food on doorstep.

stop gap for us and handy location for Market Village (Tesco) and other shops, nearby beach over very busy road with pedestrian crossing but still a life or death chance of rea hing other side. Hotel overall was good lovely staff, breakfast was good in a lovely open dining room plenty of choice. Rooms with small balcony but adequate, not a lot of hanging space or drawers so worked out of suitcase but good laundrette around corner entry of eateries closeby. As said before kettle, cups but no tea or coffee which would have been nice as you wake up.

A very friendly staff running an excellent hotel

This is the third time we have stayed at Smile Hua Hin, and from that fact alone you can deduce I am a fan of this hotel. The staff is incredibly helpful and nice, even by Thai standards, and you will find the hotel is built, maintained and run by people who care about their visitors. You will find any facilities you need just outside the hotel (including the best breakfast restaurant I have visited anywhere), and a 100bt taxi trip will take you downtown if that's what you like. When I return to Hua Hin, I will book a room here again.

Lovely small hotel with the nicest staff and owners I have ever met in all my 20 years coming to Thailand,huge room and spotless clean,very good breakfast and they did not charge extra for my sons,most hotels charge if there is more than 2 in the room usually 200baht per day for extra persons breakfast.really cheap for laundry as well.

Good hotel close to beach

We stayed here for 3 nights and were very impressed with the hotel in general. It's very clean and spacious. The rooms come with free bottled water everyday. The staff are all really nice and friendly. It's a short 10 minute walk to the beach and a 20 minute walk to the main centre of Hua Hin. The pool is small but great for the two of us and we tended to use it later in the evening as it was still nice and warm. Atmosphere was nice with the under water lights and all the wildlife sound around you. We were also watching the bats drink from the pool!! Only negative point was the placement of the fridge, which was right next to the bed. Good if you like a nice cold beer when you wake up but not great if your a light sleeper. We unplugged it and it was fine so didn't impact on our enjoyment. Would recommend as it was very good value. Not the cheapest but certainly not the most expensive.

This hotel is perfect! This was our second visit to Hua Hin and the location of this is brilliant. There is so much in close proximity and only couple of minutes from centre.
Hotel staff couldn't do enough for you and they also have their own Tuk Tuk which we used.
The breakfast was fine, choice of Asian and English breakfast items. Always fresh and tasty.
Room cleaning was spot on!!
Would definitely stay there again.

Oh and don't forget the lovely pool and garden!!

Clean, friendly, quiet and the best night market!

We stayed here for two nights and were very happy with the friendliness and service of the staff. Our room was clean and spacious, with a balcony, and was quiet. Wifi worked well in the room. The pool was really lovely - I swam each day. Breakfast was buffet style with a number of choices to suit most people. Bananas, tea and coffee were available all day. The beach is only 5 minutes walk and I found the main road easy to cross, then you just walk straight ahead down a straight roadway to the beach.

There is a new three level Market shopping centre just a few minutes' walk away. The night market was a little further along, and it was absolutely fantastic. They sold everything you could want and at really good prices. I totally recommend allowing good time to wander around here. I walked further downtown with ease although it takes a little time. Easier later in the day when the sting has gone out of the sun.

We found a lovely restaurant downtown to eat traditional food at good prices. If we stayed longer we would have gone to the beautiful beach more and used the 10 thb songtaews (little utes and trucks) around town to see a little more. An easy way to venture around. I stumbled across the Tourism Office who were helpful as well. We also found a 200thb per person shuttle service to the airport. They charged us another 200thb for our two bags and then sold that seat to someone else and our bags were in the passageway. Still, 600thb was better than 2000thb for a taxi!

We stayed at Smile Hua Hin Resort for four nights in September 2013. The hotel is situated about 10 minutes south of city centre by car/bus. As the hotel is situated away from the main road, it is a relatively quiet area. 10 minutes walk to Hua Hin Market Village shopping centre where there is a great supermarket and a food court near the entrance to the supermarket. In front of the hotel are several restaurants and massage places. Our room was very nice, clean and spacious with a king bed, small fridge and a kettle. The hotel provided us with two bottles of water each day. There is a small workout room and a small pool which is adequate for short laps and a quick cooling off. Free breakfast was appreciated, but was just ok. The staff were friendly and nice. From the hotel you can walk to the beach about 10 minutes away. From the beach you can walk to Khao Takiab or Monkey Mountain in about 45 minutes. We would recommend this place and would stay again.

Lovely Owners & great Hotel

Its a nice cosy place run by a lovely warm couple who have tastefully decorated and maintained the hotel. Its a little distance from the main road and right across the road is the beach. the Bus station is short walk from the hotel, so no need to hire a private taxi. The staff is very warm and helpful. The location is ok but the place is very nice. I would recommend this to everyone who goes to Hua Hin..

Reasons you won't Smile after you check in Smile

Despite I spend my last 12 months travel around the world and stay in a lot of different hotels, I rarely write a bad review as I stayed in a lot of lousy hotels in china before. This time I wrote merely hope you won't have an unpleasant stay in Hua Hin, like mine.

Problems with this Smile hotels are:
1. Super thick pillow (1.5 times of iphone height, see photo) -> neck pain next day
2. Super hard mattress(see photo) -> back pain next day
3. Dirty and aged towel(see photo) -> i use my own hand towel to wipe important part
4. Aged interior(see photo)
5. Lousy toilet (see photo)
6. Shower like pee(see photo) -> it takes long time to finish a shower
7. Toiletries are awful -> luckily I have my own shower gel and shampoo
8. Swimming pool -> a bigger bath tub and not a pool! The picture you've seen on their website is totally different
9. Tiny balcony with air con ventilator -> super hot and you wont stay there
10. Poor location -> downtown 30 mins, beach 15 mins

Anyway, I write merely don't want your holiday being spoilt (like mine) because of your stay in this lousy motel!

The Smile Hua Hin was a great experience and I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It is new, clean, well equipped, friendly staff and nice rooms, breakfast area and pool. The wifi signal was strong and reliable in my room.
If there was anything to complain about, it would be the location. It is a bit far from the main downtown area, and a 300m walk to the beach (crossing a busy street) but in the big picture those were minor issues for me.

i went to Thailand for 16 days, and Hua hin was our first destination, we stayed in Smile for 3 nights and it was a very good hotel, frankly speaking the best of 3 we've stayed in during our trip to Thailand, the room was very clean, and the employees were super friendly, although the level of English is not very good but we managed. the location was good also its only like 5 minutes to the beach. the only thing we hoped to be better is the breakfast. to sum up very good and clean hotel and great value for money

Very nice comfortable small hotel for the price, speedy and efficient check in/out, very clean spacious rooms, hard Asian beds (as usual!) no views though and close to train line although didn't bother us. Complimentary water, kettle and cups but no tea or coffee supplied (find that a bit strange - but go and pinch some from the lobby area!).
Adequate Asian style breakfast buffet with a few western foods to choose from for the fussy eaters. Small gym and clean pool but not many loungers or space to lounge. Not far from beach and short tuk tuk ride into main town if you feel to lazy to walk and require more shops, markets, many bars and restaurants as only a few in close proximity to hotel.
We would definitely have no problem staying here again.

We stayed for 4 nights and were quite satisfied with the hotel. It's quite clean and comfortable. The mattress may be a little too firm for some people, but it was fine for us. The service is good, but the level of English is a little low among staff. After a little bit of rephrasing and some body language we were able to communicate. Internet is free and there is a small exercise room, which we didn't use, that appeared to have equipment in good condition. The pool is a little small (about 20m x 10m) but is good for refreshing yourself. The deep end of the pool is 1.5m and the shallow end is 1.2m. There are only 6 lounge chairs, but I had the pool to myself 3 out of 4 days. Breakfast is okay and limited to American breakfast or a Thai rice soup (not good for vegans or vegetarians). The hotel is located between the railroad tracks and the main road through Hua Hin. Occasionally, we could hear train whistles,but it didn't prevent us from getting a good night's sleep or enjoying ourselves. If you walk 10 minutes, you can get to the Market Village Mall which has many shops, a supermarket, restaurants, and a movie theatre. A 15 minute songthaew ride (15 baht) will get you to the Night Market and central Hua Hin. Taxis quoted us 100 baht. Crossing the main road and going directly to the beach is about a 5-10 minute walk. All in all we were pretty pleased with everything.

Nice new place with kind staff not far from the beach. Its only a 5-7 minute walk to the beach and a good price for a new place. One drawback is the tuk-tuk is not free or cheap...rides all over for 100thb. In all fairness that seems to be the price anywhere you go in the area tho. Very nice pool and quiet location within a short walk to the beach. Breakfast was given but very basic. There are shops nearby for food and goddies if need be just a 5 minutes walk. We could see th ocean from ourside of the hotel and it was a pretty sight in the morning. Some may complain about the noise of trains but you would hear that anywhere in this small town.

New but not a good location

Hotel is clean and service is friendly and efficient. On the map it looks close to the beach-----BUT------you have to cross the main highway to get there and this is not easy. We waited up to 5 minutes to make a dash for the other side, It was a holiday weekend and maybe traffic was unusual. The hotel has a good swimming pool and breakfast is OK and served in a nice open area near the pool. Price was very reasonable for what we got.

If there is a slight negative it would be the open air breakfast area , - I do not like flies around me when I am eating.

The hotel is newly built and very very fresh. Good breakfast. Free internet.

Everything would be perfect except the hard bed (really hard) and maybe the train passing quite close, but as I understand that is a sound hard to avoid in Hua Hin, not that inconvenient though.

5 min walk to the beach.

This is a new (5 months old), shiny clean hotel with bright, fun decor and a good price for the location. In a country with a great food and buffets, the breakfast is a bit sparse (one egg, sliced ham and a hot dog, a little fruit, toast and instant coffee/tea). We asked for a second room key but were told that was "against the rules". The location is good--off the main road, but a short walk to shopping, beach or tuktuks. Looked like a family-friendly place.

Jättetrevligt hotell som vi bott på flera gånger under flera år
Börjar bli lite slitet och borde få lite få lite mera underhåll
Wi-Fi är inte uppdaterat till dagens behov och skulle behöva en nyinvestering

Bra hotell med dålig frukost

Allt på hotellet var Okey och matchade de pengarna vi betalade, dock var frukosten väldigt undermålig. Finns möjligheten att välja bort den så gör det.
