I have been staying at the hotel every time I come for business for the past 15+ years. It seems as though the bathrooms need a makeover. There is grout falling out of the tiles in addition, the have stopped supplying amenities such as disposable razors, q-tips etc… everything else is good.

Stunning views of Kaohsiung

Stayed here for three nights, hotel was lovely and the staff were very welcoming. Room was very comfortable with stunning views of Kaohsiung on the 38th floor. The bathroom had lovely big bath. The only issue which took away from the room was the noise of lifts as our room was next to them, in the bathroom it sounded like a plane flying high above.

I stayed for 6 nights and found it pleasant. After more than 24 hours of flying, a 2-hour high-speed train ride from the north to KHH, followed by an MRT, we arrived at the hotel early, around 9 a.m. We were exhausted. The front desk said we could be charged half a day or 30% more. We were shocked, but they were kind enough to offer us a shower in the fitness center.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean. We were greeted with a small gift of pineapple cakes after getting to our room. As we were headed out for our activities on the second day the cleaning staff went out of their way to flag us down and ask if we wanted our room cleaned.

Only a short 10 min walk away from the Central Park MRT station. Also a short walk to the piers and waterside views.

It was a cool hotel with a gym and plenty of dining options available in the same building! The staff were helpful and gave us some pointers on how to take the public commute.

The only small suggestion we had was to renew some of the lamps, which may start to look old.

Overall we enjoyed our stay here.

The hotel has very extreme performance demonstration in terms of cleanliness, vibe and facilities.
1. The Facilities: I like the gym room, swimming pool and the sauna areas. This aspect demonstrates a great quality of maintenance and experience. One area to improve is the watering filtering pads placed all over the ground of 三溫暖 areas. Those holes did make the sole of my foots very very painful.
However, when I walk ahead the self service washing machine room, the 10/f and 16/f are quite creepy and smelly. The signposts are not clear.
2. The room: the room are quite good, but the noise insulation are very poor. I am not sure the noise was from upper or next floor. I was awaken a few times due to the noise of some colision on the wall or bedside table for 2 nights.
3. The Lobby: the vibe is a little old fashion which moody is not engergetic. It is about the decoration only. If talking about the staff, the hotel and people all around the city are excellent. They are all polite and really friendly. They are very nice and helpful especiallyfor their services.

Great location and we got upgraded suite with two queens and living room that could closed off. The breakfast buffet had some local dishes to the south, but wasn’t as vast as some of the hotels we stayed in Taipei and Taichung. There are plenty of food options in Hanshin mall next to Hi-Lai. You don’t even have to walk outside; bonus, if you come here during summer time heat.

A big, busy hotel with excellent service and amenities. Bell-hops, luggage assistance etc were all excellent. Breakfast options could be improved. Limited 'Western' options for breakfast. Queues for tea and coffee could be improved by having two beverage stations rather than only one for such a large number of diners. Everything else, however, was really good. On-site restaurant options for dinner are excellent. Would highly recommend.

Good value for money in a central location

So, unfortunately I didn't stay very long, but I really liked it. It would have been worth a longer stay. The room itself was unusually nice, and its central location made it easier to get around town. Kaohsiung is itself a really nice city. I didn't visit the department store in which it is located, but I guess it would be a convenient place to access services as well.

I'm glad I picked a room with harbor view and it was gorgeous. The sauna (hot spring style) is a luxury experience. I also like the details such as the concierge would write down the taxi license plate as I get off it and hand it the copy to me just in case I forget anything in the car, let alone opening and closing doors for you. I didn't eat at the hotel but the shopping mall next door has plenty of eating options (open at 11am though).

I walked around the neighborhood and there are lots of shops for all kinds of things. Definitely a top choice for staying in Kaohsiung.

This is an excellent hotel to stay. It has many dining options but it would be better to book your dinner before you arrive since they are so popular that most of them will be sold out the night you stay. The shopping center accessible from the hotel is very large and convenient. The shops in the basement are very good and not expensive. The three different heating pools and spa and warm water swimming facilities are excellent. Highly recommended to try them.
