Room was clean. A bit ran down could use a refurbishment.
Amenities were ok nice pool area with a pool bar.
They had regular free transfers for Praia de Ponta preta and Santa Maria which was good.
The Reception staff wete really nice and always ready for information and guidance. Only stayed couole nightw but overall was good for the value.

The bed was very uncomfortable and there was only 1 small pillow. The toilet seat was broken.
The breakfast was ok but coffee machine was broken and causing problems for everyone. The juice machine also didn't work properly.
We went to use the pool but couldn't stay as they had decided to strim all the lawn and the strimmer was constant and really noisy and sending dust everywhere. We went to a different pool but there was no water in it. We tried a third pool which looked nice, but were asked to move on as we were not staying in the apartments connected to that pool, even though it was part of the same resort and there were no other people using the pool.
Overall this resort feels very tired and uncared for. I would not stay here again.

The absolute worst experience abroad I have ever had. Zero communication, unclean sheets and dilapidated hotel and amenities. As a solo traveller it felt unsafe, no security at all and the room doors don’t lock from inside and it was like a ghost town, no restaurants or anything nearby. I stayed one night of the 5 I booked after finding cockroaches in the middle of the night. I have yet to have any communication from them after the front desk refused to talk to me about a refund or compensation for the nights I was not staying.

We stayed at Vila Verde for 2 weeks over Christmas and New Year in a huge apartment. It has a very relaxed and chilled out feel in the complex, an others mentioned parts need updating but this is being done. The staff are all polite and friendly from the security guards cheering me on my morning run to the reception staff being so helpful and the housekeeping services ensuring our room was always spotlessly clean.
It’s a short walk, hotel shuttle or a €5 taxi to the hustle and bustle of Santa Maria where there’s lots to see and do. There is also a private beach which is quiet and peaceful too.
We would definitely recommend and return here as it’s just the peaceful relaxing stay we were wanting.

Unfortunately it didn’t live up to expectations. There are better options around.

Deserted, more security than guests. No wifi in room although listed as available in info. Pool with pool bar was 10min away but told I couldn’t use pool. Closest pool, bar was closed. No lights to enter building or on corridor into room. Holes in the ground appeared day to day. TV didn’t work. Neighbouring room was in disrepair.

The pool bar staff were so unprofessional. Ignored people and laughed at me when I asked if they had the Cape Verdean Malta drink. They were so rude. I have never seen such bad costuner service in Sal before. The front desk staff we very nice and polite however. The place needs upgrades as the bathroom is old but was clean, the bed was unconfortble though and very loud at any movement. The place is generally is good. The bad part is that I booked this layover to work but was unable because they had no wifi for 24 hours and offered no solutions.

Overall, this is actually a pretty decent option. However, there is also some false advertising.
The good: it is very close to Santa Maria and they have free shuttles to take you there. The property is huge with a beach close by and a grocery store on site. The apartment was huge with plenty of space, AC everywhere and very quiet. If you book a tour, they will not have an issue finding you for pick up. The food at the restaurant was really tasty. Once on site, the staff was very nice and helpful for the most part.
The bad: they advertise free shuttle for the airport but they did not answer the three emails I sent prior to my arrival so I had to pay for the Taxi to the resort and although I requested a shuttle for departure, I had to pay for that too. Wi-fi barely works in the rooms although they advertise Wi-fi everywhere. They do not respond to emails. At my arrival, I was struggling with my bags and the staff who was walking me to my room just watched me struggled. I will not stay there again. I do not recommend. The beds are rock hard as well and there is no comforters or blanket for the beds.

The resort have couple of restaurants, a supermarket and a beach. You can take a bus or rent a car, but this is a walking distance from downtown. Overall value is excellent.

The apartment was huge and really well furnished and a full kitchen. Pool was lovely and easy. walk to the beach and Santa Maria. I wanted a really quiet holiday and that’s what I got :) The resort is lovely and it’s such a shame that there’s not more people there-but to my favour

Lovely staff, hotel needs refurbishment, wifi only in reception & at pool. Breakfast really basic.
Very odd development/area - not sure if its because i came in the off season, but it feels a bit post-apocalyptic!

Comfortable and affordable stay

The place is clean and staff are friendly! Very spacious 2 bed accommodation! This is a place for no fuss people whose expectations are proportionate to what they pay!
Only had breakfast with our stay but the offer is very reduced, had to order pretty much the same thing every day. Even we had self catering facilities, Cape Verde is a place for eating out, very cheap all around compared to Europe!

Problems from as soon as we arrived

Arrived first of all to be told that we didn't have a booking and they couldn't find anything. Eventually found it after having to walk into their back office to see what was happening (as it's a bit worrying when they leave with your phone and passports for 15 mins with no explanation).
Room was basic but was decent for the price paid. The food at the resort is terrible, from live bugs found in the breakfast cereal, advertised menus for the €15 dinner deal for which much of what was advertised was not available including the main dishes. When questioning the staff they just said they didn't have it. A lot of cold food that was meant to be hot which was worrying. The staff seemed to not know what they were doing and were very puzzled by such simple tasks. Was meant to be pass on a message for our pickup transfer. Which to be fair would have been useless as that was wrong but that's another issue. The room was cleaned daily however the floor was often left wet with dirty water, the door and shutters to the ground floor balcony that were always closed on exit were left open and unlocked when we returned each day.
This was my first and will be my first and last visit to Cape Verde.

Excellent Hotel With Drawbacks

Great hotel complex with hardworking cleaning/catering staff. Rooms (they are suites) are excellent with every cooking and washing facility available.The admin are a nightmare though. No water in our block at all for entire day (06.00-20.00), but no apologies/explanations or even concern that no one could wash or use toilets. It was impossible to get lunch one day because neither of the cafes had been provided with most of their food. On checking out there was an attempt to charge me 6 Euros for a call which clearly cost 50 Cents. No apology, just a surly manager saying \"mistake\" Wi-Fi hardly worked at all because \"sometimes it doesn't work\". The TV gradually lost all the English channels within a few days, but no one fixed it. The bus into town was frequently full so a lot of people would have to wait - wouldn't it be better to have a hourly service? Could easily be really good but someone needs to give the more senior members of staff a kick up the rrrrrr..

Room dirty, all inclusive dont exist. The lunch ist just snacks in the pool bar, the dinner regular opcion menu not buffet but whitout tast.. bad quality.. pool dirty and bad service.. open bar you need paid for.some drinks and just we tell you finish you drink.. i not recommend

Great apartments

This has recently reopened as a hotel so was a little quiet when I visited (October 2015). It appears to be mainly timeshare apartments. The apartments are well furnished with all facilities to make meals yourself. The pool is good with a pool bar where you can get breakfast and lunch. There is also a restaurant a few mins walk from reception where you can get a great evening meal. There's also a small supermarket on site. A taxi was €3 into Santa Maria (bars,restaurants,beaches etc).

La struttura si trova lontano dal centro di Santa Maria, si deve prendere il taxi o noleggiare un mezzo di trasporto (attenzione in loco noleggio di bici a eur 25 x 2 giorni: troppo caro, in città trovate a minor prezzo).
La camera con cucina, frigo e bagno era spaziosa, il letto comodo.
Attenzione al tipo di prezzo: il mio standard NON comprendeva il wifi in camera, solo alla reception.
Il ressort è molto vasto quindi a dipendenza di dove è la camera bisogna camminare un po' per raggiungere la sala colazione o la reception, io ero a ca. 500mt
