Location is great. Loved being on the port. Minutes from shops and restaurants. Quiet location. Only issue with this hotel experience is that we had to park the rental car in a parking garage 15 minutes from the hotel. Parking was pricey and it was a ways to walk with our bags. On the days when we didn’t have our luggage it was no issue. Great breakfast.

This was a wonderful hotel and I can’t recommend it enough for anyone going to Crete! The room was very clean and had the cutest stone hearth for decoration. The breakfast was delicious and had many different options to choose from. The staff that worked there were all so kind and helpful! The location to the marina was also very convenient. I had a fantastic time staying at the Elia Boutique hotel and would definitely stay there again if I were to come back to Crete!

Cute and quaint boutique hotel. Don’t expect much, but that’s okay, you’re there for the charm, experience and location!

My particular room was perfect for 1 person, but would not be comfortable for two - which was fine since I was meeting family after Crete. If you aren’t looking for a lot of bells and whistles, this probably works.

Be prepared to roll your luggage down the street! Cars can’t enter after a certain point.

They charged us for 2 rooms even though they were notified that we only needed 1. Gross incompetence not paying attention to e mails sent to them. Clearly stated to them only 1 room needed and to cancel any others. They refused. I will not trust them again. Spoiled our trip to Greece for our 50 anniversary.

Hey, wanted to give you a small feedback in regards to the cleaning stuff. I just wanted to use the 60 euro shampoo that I had with me in Crete which was left in the bathroom and just noticed they empty the bottle and added water. Really not professional at all. This plus the restaurant issues when they took my plate just because I was called at the reception, considering it was the first time when I came to have breakfast which was literally some watermelon and a coffee and also the rude talking when I went at 7am for a smoke and then two of them stood in front of me and being super impolite telling me I don t have accommodation there.

Hotel review.

Everything was great apart from the safe in my room which had to be fixed before it would work and there was no coffee machine in the room which I asked for and it was provided.

The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The shower was great as was the breakfast.
All the staff were very helpful and kind.

Lovely Hotel, horrible front desk services!

We arrived on a short trip to beautiful Chania. As we came in late at night, we were informed that the front desk is located nearby at Elia Zampeliou Hotel and it is open 24 hours daily. The hotel has a front desk as you could see in the picture but it is just for decoration. This firm has various hotels in the Old City nearby so I guess it is more economical to them having one reception desk. The hotel and the rooms are excellent in a great location, with 2 friendly ladies in charge of cleaning, and preparing great breakfast. On our last day, we approached the front desk to book a Taxi to the airport and keep our language while still touring the town, and when we got back to the reception to pick up the gear and get instructions on how to reach the driver (no cars can enter this part of the city so we need instruction how to reach the meeting point), to our great disappointment, the font desk was closed! we waited half an hour trying to call the numbers we had with no success. Eventually, we communicated with Wattsapp but didn't like the excesses of No Front Desk services, and as they gave us the entry code we took off our gear and went to find our way to the airport not to miss our flight. We will surely arrive again in Chania for a longer stay but never use this firm again! Only a hotel with Front Desk services not just collects the payment upon arrival but gives services when the customers are leaving.

They helped us arrange for a taxi from the airport and then Elena met us where the taxi dropped us off and walked us to our hotel (cars are not allowed in old town). The check-in hours that are listed are not correct on this site. The day before check-in we were sent an email while traveling to tell us that check-in is as follows:

\"Please bear in mind that the reception is not open all day.
The reception opening hours are from 08.00-15.00pm & from 18.00-22.00pm\"

So, of course, we arrived during the period during the mid-day that it was closed and had to wait on the street with our bags because we didn't have a chance to check email until we actually arrived on site.

Once we were able to speak to an attended she was rude to my wife as she explained that the credit card charge didn't go through over two months prior to check in date and she was just now letting us know. She said that we need to pay her in cash. When we called the credit card company they told us that the charge did go through and that it was colllected by the hotel. We provided this information to the hotel attended and yet she wanted us to pay her in cash for the stay. So we decided to tell the credit card company that we wanted to dispute the charge since the hotel was telling that it wasn't paid and stayed in another hotel down the street. Several red flags about this hotel so be careful. WARNING

Great base to explore old town

Nice small hotel in great location near harbour. Good base for short stay in old town. Helpful staff. Superior room was nicely furnished with internal balcony. However lighting in room is dim and there is very little natural light. Bathroom tiles are lovely but bathroom is dimly lit and cleanliness of mastic and grouting around tiles could be improved. Breakfast could also be improved. Fresh orange juice was nice but otherwise breakfast was basic and food was cold. There are some lovely restaurants in the old town and in main town outside. Nice shops outside old town with interesting textiles and furnishings. Snow capped mountains very pretty.

This is a wonderful hotel with amazing staff at the center of the Old City in Chania. Let's start with the negative though (that have nothing to do with the hotel): Google maps doesn't work well in the Old City, since for the better part of the day access to vehicles is restricted and Google does not account for these restrictions. Also, you will have to park outside the Old City so there will be some walking involved, typically under 5-7 mins; however Ontas staff is willing to help with luggage so give them a call before you get there. The room was clean, with beautiful design, and full amenities. There was a relatively small selection, compared to big hotels, of extremely high quality items for breakfast, including traditional Cretan food. Grade A for the breakfast. You walk out of the hotel entrance and you are in the heart of the Old City with a great selection of restaurants and other stores only a few steps away. Grade A+ for location. The staff was amazing, especially Mr Iordanis (Jordan). They answered all our questions, they provided solid recommendations for places to visit and eat, and they accommodated all our requests. Grade A++ for the staff. We will stay there again next time we visit Chania!!!

We stayed at this hotel recently and were very pleased with the location and the overall quality of the building. It’s a very charming old building that has been restored into an incredible hotel with some very modern and spectacular features. The bed was very comfy; the shower was amazing; the colors and lighting were very interesting and the room was spacious with high ceilings. Checkin was very personal and the staff took the time to show us everything right down to how to turn the shower on and lock the safe. Despite our room being interior facing (no view) I was happy The with stay and would recommend. Also, the included breakfast was an excellent start to the day. Five stars.

My husband and I stayed 3 nights here during part of our honeymoon and it was by far our favorite hotel out of the 7 cities we visited. The service is excellent, Mrs. Mariana is very professional and kind. The room itself was very high tech and CLEAN! The bed was a nice firm mattress with fluffy/firm pillows. The bathroom was spacious and again CLEAN! The laundry service is very expensive, but other than that our stay was perfect. Yummy breakfast buffet with fresh cappuccinos on request, steps from all the restaurants. If you have high expectations for the money you spend at hotels, then I definitely recommend this place!

Beautiful hotel, uncomfortable overbooking

Hotel was beautiful. Pristine. Location was fantastic. My only issue was communication with the woman in charge after I booked a room on this site that wasn't actually available.

I was traveling by horseback the week before, so I had very limited internet access. When I asked about adding a day to the reservation, she replied the hotel was booked and to look elsewhere online. So I did. A day later, when I was searching hotels.com, Fatma showed up. I thought maybe they'd had a last minute cancellation so I booked it. (What weary traveler wouldn't hope the skies had cleared and she'd only have to unpack once?)

The next day, I got a reply that was less than friendly asking me why I would book it online when I knew it wasn't available (CAPS letters included in email). She said for my convenience they wouldn't charge the nonrefundable fee.

There was no reason for an email like that. All she had to say was there was a mistake on hotels.com. Period. I would have been happy to figure out another place, which was my intention in the first place. Instead it was awkward the moment I stepped in the door, and I was relieved to see when the night person was at the front desk.

Had I had the option, I would have canceled my reservation completely, even if it meant missing out on what could be the best hotel room in Chania.

If I came back to Chania, I'd probably choose to stay here again. The hotel has very nice decor, the room was very nice and we had a lovely private terrace.

The breakfast was good! I liked the staff members, they were very helpful and kind.

I can't really think of any complaints about this place - even the location was perfect. Some would say it might be a little pricey for the area but I felt like it was a good deal.

Beyond fantastic!

We had high expectations for our stay at this unique boutique hotel and they still managed to top them,! From the moment we arrived down to every detail the highly attentive staff treated us like royalty. The rooms were beautifully decorated , beds were the most comfortable of all the places we stayed iin Greece & Italy complete with very soft high thread count linens. The breakfast was very enjoyable and freshly prepared. We especially liked the fresh squeezed juices they made. We found the location to be perfect in the old town but not too near the noisy harbor area. Would highly recommend this & plan to return.

Outstanding Service, Great Location!

This hotel is unbelievable! My wife and I stayed here during the first week of September 2013 in the Guzel room which was very spacious and had a beautiful interior balcony. In addition, we were situated about a block from the old Venetian Port - a sure hot spot for food and shops!

Marianne, owner operator was incredible - always asking that we had a great night and made herself readily available to us at anytime!

The only regret we had was that we didn't spend more time at this hotel/Chania and less time in Heraklion.

If I find myself back in Chania, I won't even look at a different hotel.

Great boutique hotel in Chania old town

Great breakfast, I usually don't even eat at my included hotel breakfast, but this was a rare breakfast I looked forward to when waking up. Wide variety, home made quality. ROOM: the room was large and very modern, clean, and newly refurnished/designed. Had the two story loft room. The bathroom was small, but included a modern stall shower, which was a great change from Greek hotels with a bathtub and no shower curtain. There is a wifi router per room at the hotel, so the connection is good throughout the room, and reasonably fast for greek standards (DSL speeds) LOCATION: unfortunately, you cannot drive up to the door of the hotel because it is in the quaint narrow walking streets of the old town. While being very \"cute\", it was a pain to bring my luggage from the parking location to the hotel (4 blocks and a set of stairs). This was the only negative of the hotel, but one thing to mention is many other hotels were also in the old town area, so you would have the same problem. Besides that, the location, was great. Located in central Chania, adjacent to Semiramis Taverna, which is a great Cretan restaurant and a 3 min walk from the Venetian Harbor. Overall, I would definitely recommend the hotel for anyone staying in Chania for someone looking for new, clean, higher end accommodations.

Hidden gem in Chania

We picked this hotel at the last minute for one night stay in Chania during our honeymoon. Although there is a typo in the name (it should be \"hanim\" instead of \"hanoum\"), this is an amazing hotel. Converted from an old Turkish stone house (btw, there were 30000 Turks living in the island on 1923), this boutique hotel is located in the old city of Chania. It has only 6 rooms and all rooms are named with some Turkish names. We stayed at \"Yildiz\" which means star in Turkish. This is the only room in the house with a small terrace. If you are planning to stay in Chania, go for it, probably the best boutique hotel in the city.

The Ontas Fatma hotel is a unique and brilliant find. My wife and I arrived from Athens on Crete 4 hours before we could check in and were welcomed with open arms and a personalized experience. The staff seated us in their restaurant/cafe area, fixed us each the coffee drink of our choice and invited us to partake in breakfast which was being served. Within an hour of arriving our room was ready and we were given a brief tour of the hotel, the amenities provided and Raki! The rooms are each unique, breathtaking and beautiful. There is free wireless (truly high speed), complimentary bottled water, shoe polish/horn, shave kit, tooth brush/paste kit, many towels, robes, slippers, a large walk in closet, satellite tv, in room espresso maker and more! The beds are very comfortable. Each morning we were given freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee with breakfast which is served from 9-11am daily. Planned excursions were available but we chose not to partake. There is a also a beautiful roof garden perfect for morning or afternoon reading. The hotel is perfectly located in the Old Harbour a few meters from all restaurants, shops, and nightlife. If you are looking for a unique hotel on Crete with a personalized experienced, world class service, a welcoming staff, luxurious comfort and delicious breakfast look no further than the Ontas Fatma hotel. We've stayed at many hotels around the world and the Ontas Fatma is our favorite!!!!

Infelizmente nos deram um quarto com vários defeitos , ar condicionado, frigobar e cofre não funcionava, o banheiro vazava água para todos os lados e oferecendo perigos para quedas por causa da agua no chão, depois de reclamar muito com o hoteis.com nos deram outro quarto no ultimo dia,porém dos 3 dias que ficamos somente 1 mereceu. O melhor de tudo foi o café da manhã e atendimento recepção e cafeteria. O resto joguei dinheiro fora.

I can totally recommend this place. The rooftop was great. The location super central. The breakfast buffet had literally all one need. I don’t wanna criticise much. The hotel is great. The room was nice. It would’ve been just great to have some shower mat every day. Also, there’s a coffee machine on the room but we only got two capsules right at the beginning. Furthermore, there were just 5 hangers in the wardrobe. A little less for so many wardrobes and two persons. I would also recommend to remove all the thick pillows, blankets and bed sheets, which are stored in these wardrobe in the summer months. These are taking lots of space and the wardrobes were anyway a little tiny. That’s all…

The beds were comfortable!

Negative things to point out: we chose the hotel due to the fact that it is marketed as \"adult only\", however the breakfast room is shared and there were families with kids. I dont see the point of having \"adult only\" written... i think it is false information and misleading to the customer.

Our coffee machine was broken. We told the cleaning lady and the receptionist. It never got repaired nor even looked at. For me this is poor service attitude even though it only is the coffee machine we are talking about.

I would not recommend the hotel, expecially there are so much better places in Chania in that price range.

The hotel is close to the Venetian harbour in the old town. The room was spacey, had a wardrobe room and a spacey bathroom. Very stylish furnished. Super breakfast buffet! Very friendly and helpful staff! Totally recommendable!
