An oasis in Chiang Mai

The 137 pillars house in Chiang Mai is a marvellous place to stay! The location is perfect to have the opportunity to navigate the city of Chiang Mai very easily. The staff is amazing, the hôtel proposes a very high level of service. Our butler was very accurate in orienting us to the right places, according to our intérests and requests. We also met the managing director of the hôtel, who seamed to us as a very passionate and professional business manager. It translates in all the Good services and in the way the property is kept at its very best level. And what a property! With such an history, décorated with taste. This is one of the best hôtels we’ve been to récently. We highly recommend.

I don’t know where to start. We cannot say enough about our stay at 137 Pillars. The property is stunning go begin with, but it really comes down to the staff. Toto, our butler, was so thoughtful and attentive to anything we needed, but indeed the whole staff is imbued with the spirit of hospitality. It’s truly a special place we didn’t want to leave!

The staff at this place and the attentiveness is the best part. They helped us plan all of our excursions, gave us great recommendations on places to go, things to eat and restaurants to visit. This was a gem of a place and I would recommend it over and over again. The rooms were beautiful, spacious and just lovely.
We also stayed at the 137 Pillar in Bangkok and that was also an incredible stay. Once again the rooms were fantastic! Huge suite, two bathrooms, extraordinary amenities. But most of all, the staff was amazing. Special credit to Ron, who was absolutely incredible and made our stay extra special.

Pillars went above and beyond during our stay... every request was accommodated (late checkout, food requests, expedited laundry, etc), and as an interior designer- I especially appreciated the attention to detail and carefully curated spaces. This is a very special place built around a beautifully restored teak house, now serving the ideal purpose of lounge, bar and restaurant. The design of the room is both exquisitely tasteful and deeply thoughtful, and the choice of indoor/outdoor shower in the generously proportioned bathroom was surprisingly liberating - a guilty pleasure that I want to replicate at home. Staff were uniformly warm, welcoming and helpful.

My son and I had a mama/ son vacation there and it was outstanding in every way. The staff is so friendly, kind, and helpful- even anticipating your every need. The suggestions for activities were spot on- memorable and high quality. The food and accommodations were gorgeous and delicious. And Ray, our butler, was the icing on the cake. This is my second stay with 137 Pillars House. Consistently the service is great and the staff (especially the personal concierge) are excellent, going over and beyond to foresee your every need. My preferences from the first trip were remembered by them on my second trip. The architecture and ambience of the hotel are also terrific. So charming. Having a personal Butler, Pui, was a new and welcome experience for us. And a game changer in terms of enabling us get the most out of our time Chiang Mai. From helping us select tours and find our way around the city to serving as a single point of contact for room service, transportation, housekeeping and other needs, Pui was a huge help. She, Anne (GM) and the rest of the 137 pillars team are serious pros who clearly take pride in guest satisfaction and subsequently made our stay as relaxing and fun as it was memorable.

Amazing stay from start to finish - an absolute oasis in Chiang Mai! We loved the location, slightly removed from the city center but within walking distance (or a quick tuk tuk ride). The staff was fabulous; incredibly friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Beautiful touches, spacious suite, and thoughtful amenities. Overall, a wonderful choice in Chiang Mai - we'd stay there again without question!

I love the small hotel that caters just 30suites guest. Each suite comes with a butler and they r so helpful. The design of the room is very colonial, however the hotel area focus more on greens which is real pretty. Totally did not felt like we are staying in the middle of they city! The hotel is also very well maintained and quiet. Service top notch. Definitely will return!

My Husband and I recently spent a few nights of our honeymoon at 137 Pillars House and it was magical. The property itself is beautiful, but the staff are what make it our favorite hotel, ever. You will feel incredibly pampered and comfortable. Every detail is well thought out up to the burning incense outside your room doors in the evening time. Pui was our butler during our stay and we can't say enough about her. Her restaurant recommendations were amazing and she was quick to answer any and all questions and just so friendly. We were greeted by Fah upon our arrival. She was kind, friendly and very helpful. When we settled in our room we were introduced to Pui our personal assistant. Pui is a gem! She helped us with all our planning. She has a lovely personally and is amazingly helpful.
The rooms are well done and clean and the ground is beautiful. We also met Ann the general manager who is very visible around the hotel. She too is exceptional and a pleasure to chat with. I highly recommend this hotel.

Once you step foot on the property, it is as thought you've been transported to another place. A place of solitude and the highest level of service. Pui, our butler was very responsive and helpful. Everything was beyond my expectations. What a wonderful boutique hotel. Returning to the real world is difficult after being in the care of the 137 Pillars House staff. The included breakfast was amazing, and our Raja Brooke room was very comfortable. Tons of personal touches enhanced the experience. Our butler helped us arrange spa treatments, dinners, cabs and excursions all over Chiang Mai. I'd love to return soon.

A quiet oasis in the city located near river

The hotel grounds and facilities are beautifully maintained. Our East Borneo Suite is very comfortable with all the amenities of a 5-star resort hotel. Love the outdoor shower in the suite. The restaurant staffs were particularly friendly and hospitable. The 25m outdoor pool is excellent for lap swimmer like me, but a little narrow. Only 2 people can do laps at the same time.

From the moment that Charm picked us up at the airport to the time we went back to the airport, this was an amazing and enchanting experience. From the wonderful reception area to the manicured grounds, this was a magical place. The service was outstanding, especially Pui, our butler, who anticipated our every need.

Our suite was stunning and the outdoor shower was the icing on the cake.

The restaurants were amazing with one of the best breakfast buffets ever. I can't say enough about 137, it truly has to be experienced to believe.

We have been in great hotels all over the world and never more impressed than we were with 137 Pillars House. From the time we were picked up at the airport until the day we left our experience couldn't have been any better. The landscaping is beautiful and exceptionally maintained, the food, especially breakfast, outstanding, and accommodations more than we could have hoped for. With only thirty units spread around the grounds our time spent there made us feel special. I really could go on and on about 137 Pillars House, from our butler Toto to the best mattress and pillows we have ever used, but probably what we liked most was the staff. I can't justly describe how wonderful and helpful everyone was, not because, in my opinion, it was their job or they were expecting something from you, but because they truly cared about making your stay there the best it could be. An absolutely amazing place.

We had a great stay at 137 Pillars House, and I considered the hotel stay as part of the Chiang Mai experience, not just a place to sleep. The hotel grounds, rooms, food, and most importantly, the staff, are amazing. Breakfast was very nice - not a vast selection but plenty of top-quality choice. Thai dinner was ok but not my favorite - note that I am not a big fan of Thai food. Would come back again.

This hotel far surpassed my expectations- the whole property is gorgeous, the pool is amazing and unusual, and it's a close tuk tuk ride away from all of the big attractions in Chiang Mai. The level of service is amazing- the whole staff is so friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is very good and the afternoon tea was great too. I've never been to a hotel with such amazing attention to detail. If I ever go back to Chiang Mai- I would no doubt stay here again. It's a beautiful quiet oasis!!

The main assets of the hotel are this great 137 pillars house very well decorated, its amazing staff and limited number of rooms that provides you the feeling to be at home. The overall atmosphere is very peaceful, the \"standard\" room is quite big and the terrace is a great plus to enjoy a \"on the house\" soft drink or beer from the minibar.

We have experienced the spa which is nice but you can have the same kind of quality for half the price.

We stayed here for five nights as part of our honeymoon and just loved it. The East Borneo room was so luxurious and comfortable we were sad it wasn't our room at home! The whole feel of the place was just so tranquil and relaxing.
On the subject of mosquitos, the staff do try to keep them at bay. I am bitten a lot everywhere I go but applied repellent each morning and early evening and didn't get one bite.
Our butler Pui was absolutely fantastic, she was so friendly and helpful that it added something extra special to our stay there as we didn't have to worry about a thing.
Only negative comment is that the breakfast needs some work. There was nothing like the variety and quality offered in the other two five star hotels we stayed in in Thailand...it might be worth management visiting the Okura Prestige in Bangkok to show how to really do it!

As we arrived at 137 Pillars after our 15 minute ride from the airport, we were greater by lavender tea in their open air lobby. We were assigned a butler who we could contact 24/7 for any of our hotel needs. We spent the afternoon lounging by the beautiful pool and live wall. The staff were some of the friendliest who served us in Thailand. Our room was impeccably clean. We received complimentary water, robes, sandals, and bath salts. The morning breakfasts were the best we had in Thailand. We spent one afternoon getting traditional thai massages at their spa. Dinner's at 137 pillars were excellent as well. Pui was our personal butler and she was outstanding. We still text her occasionally to se how she is doing. My wife cried when we left.

We loved this very special small hotel and we were lucky to visit Chiang Mai at the time of the Loy Krathong festival. What a magical evening the hotel provided- great food, local entertainment, market and launching our own lantern into the dark sky! An experience we will never forget.
The staff are simply lovely, so warm and always smiling. Our suite was very comfortable and spacious. The meals were well prepared and the breakfast was always a treat.
We enjoyed a massage at the spa and it was very relaxing.
A wonderful introduction to our visit to Thailand!

I really thought the service would be better...

After reading the reviews, I was really excited for this one. But they failed to meet my expectations. There was a wedding over the weekend, and it seemed like the rest of the guests were second-class citizens.

The room was nice, with a very comfortable bed. The gym was good quality. And the pool was excellent.

Good boutique option

Second time staying at this hotel. Over all, another pleasant experience. First time was 3yrs ago when newly opened. Property still beautiful but rooms showing wear. Maybe more than they should considering the price point and luxury level being marketed. Nothing a thorough round of maintenance couldn't resolve.
Staff was amazing, very accommodating and genuine in the high level of service they provide. I'd consider staying again when in Chiang Mai.

A hidden gem...

A great hotel and would definitely stay again without a doubt as the location was perfect, only 10-15min walk to the old town, a hidden gem. Staff were friendly and accommodating, rooms really nicely appointed. Nearby bars/clubs were quite noisy and did keep us up a bit, but it's a city/large town so what do you expect.

Amazing Hotel

Absolutely wonderful hotel. The service was impeccable. The property is buetiful and the location is perfect. We have stayed at some of the nicest hotels in the world, and this is right up there with them. There is no better hotel in Chiang Mai. It may be more expensive than some of the other hotels, but it is worth every penny.
