Great location out of the hustle bustle of old town. Good restaurants close by. 15 minute walk to the night market.

Kitchen could be stocked better, it’s very sparse. Also it wasn’t as clean as we would have liked it so we wiped down the place with disinfecting wipes.

Otherwise a really nice quiet place to relax and the rooms were very large. I would stay here again.

If you are looking for a place to stay in Chiang Mai, the Sakorn Residence and Hotel should be towards the top of your list. You can walk to many of the sights in the city, and the hotel offers a free breakfast in the mornings. Our room was always clean and the staff super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend staying here.

Excellent staff that genuinely care. Facilities also offer great value. It felt like home. The included breakfast is a set of your choice, and comes with bottomless coffee or tea, a generous serving of fresh fruit, fresh squeezed juice, and small dessert.

The large pool was well kept, with smoking area and sun loungers. I highly recommend this stay!

Mostly the staff was extremely helpful with our demands. We had a deluxe 1 brd apartment which is a very comfortable top floor unit with 2 washrooms. Off the high density traffic but very close to all restaurants and markets, it was very quiet place. The breakfast choice was good and comprise of main late breakfast, fruit platter, small dessert and fresh squeezed orange juice. We were not hungry leaving the dining room.
Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay and would return for future travels.

My overall stay was great. Breakfast was good... loved the fried rice. Spacious rooms, I stayed in the both the king size and double twin rooms.

The only real downside to me was that the walls are pretty thin and therefore it can be quite noisy.

I stayed here for a week in December while visiting the Design Festival. Basic but clean and well maintained with friendly staff. There are good local restaurants - up market and relatively pricey by the river, cheaper and basic nearby too. Hotel in a quiet spot but easy walking distance to the market and taxis or tuk-tuks Via a pedestrian bridge over the river if needed (hotel will also call them for you if you need one direct). To/from airport not expensive.

Great position nice hotel .very comfortable bed and good quality sheets .
Down side is the pool is very cold so we couldn’t use it .No coffee or tea in the room .Coffee shop was closed for 4 days from us arriving .
No way to buy any snack food or snacks .
They did have cans and beer to buy at reception .
No tables next to sun beds .
And only one chair on the balcony but no table .These are all things you expect to have in a hotel regardless of size .

Hotel was good. The floors were not very clean. We knew because our son was crawling in the floor and knees were dirty. The frontstaff was helpful the best of all was the security Guard at night. Super friendly to my kids seems like a great person. The breakfast soup was great and the breakfast Pad Thai was amazing. Super fast and very good breakfast service.

Fantastic location and staff, breakfast is made to order and delicious and includes all the coffee or tea you want. It's within walking distance to the night bazaar and all other shopping areas. Room is large and clean with daily service. Laundry is handled online with Washdrop, arrange and pay. Leave it at the front desk and they pick it up and return it. Highly recommend this property definitely would use again if I ever return.

Breakfast next door was VERY good, either western or Thai. It's near the east side of the river, so a bit of a walk.

DON'T LIKE: SMOKING...I am allergic to cigarette smoke and despite keeping my doors and windows closed, smoke came into my room. The noise from the adjacent hotels was annoying...despite using ear plugs.

Neither Expedia nor the hotel allowed me to modify my reservation. It was the first....and LAST time that I
will use Expedia.

We loved being tucked away, off the main road. It was very quiet. But, we were still in a great location. A short 10-15 minute walk to night markets and 20-25 minutes to the Old City. There were some gems when it came to local eateries as well (like across the street). The room was spacious. The bed was comfortable. I do wish the cleaning service was a bit better. The room didn’t always feel clean after they ‘cleaned’ the room and they didn’t always do a great job with replenishing toiletries and toilet paper. Overall, the property was nice and the staff were pleasant.

Location though on the side street is away from the main busy road and yet close enough to some eateries. A bit further away from the 7-11s and FamilyMart's so plan wisely if you need these.

Need blackout curtains and external/outdoor light is too easy to come into the room in the evenings.

Great experience. The staff were incredibly helpful, making phone calls for us and even calling a Grab taxi as we hadn't gotten a sim card yet. Hotel was quiet, with rarely sounds heard from neighbouring rooms - that may have something to do with the fact that we were there during low season. There's a wonderful little pool to get some relief from the sun as well. A short walk to the night market but a bit of a trek to get to the old city. The WiFi is stable and complimentary breakfast makes it easy for us early risers as far as food options go for that time of the day.

Beautiful, timber floored rooms, modern accessories, lovely staff. I'm so glad I discovered this hotel a couple of years ago when my usual haunt was booked out. Tucked in a quiet treelined backstreet on the East side of the river, near to Wat Ket, a moderate walk or very short tuktuk ride to Tapae Road, Night Bazaar or the main thoroughfares of CM. Glorious riverside restaurants nearby, supermarkets 10 mins away, pharmacy 3 mins away, everything within reach except the bustle and the traffic. I'll be here for every Chiang Mai visit.

We really enjoyed our stay here at the Sokorn. It's off the beaten track just a little, but is easy to get to. Nearby is a must restaurant, The Gallery (just a few minutes walk on the lovely nearby river). And if you're looking for a Church, check out the really wonderful All Saints Church, also just a few minutes walk away (for the 11am Sunday service). I most highly recommend this hotel, and the breakfast was also very good, as was the coffee!!!

We chose the Sakorn for a recent 6 day stay and both of us were pleasantly surprised. All the staff are excellent and it's easy to get a tuk tuk anywhere. The choice at breakfast was not as extensive as at other places, but it was always cooked fresh and was fine for English and Chinese tastes. The gym and pool area are well-maintained and all in all I would highly rate this hotel. Myself and my partner both really enjoyed our stay at the Sakorn and would like to say thank you to the staff for a lovely well-deserved break

Large fridge in room. Hot-pot rather than the kettle advertised. Luggage-rack too narrow to sit a small open suitcase. Bed is typical Thai-hard, with a quilt but no top-sheet (bring your own & you can use the quilt to pad the hard mattress!). Easily-accessible power sockets, even at the desk and for shavers in bathroom. Shower is a fairly large, separate tiled compartment off the toilet/basin area; toilet is in a narrow area not accessible by wheelchair. No handrails in shower or toilet for those who are unstable standing. There is soap/shampoo, no conditioner. Good water pressure, hot water comes on right away and gives a lovely shower. Friendly & helpful reception staff. The simple breakfast is only available from 7:30am, so don't use this hotel if u have to go to early meetings (as I did!). Gym doesn't open till 8, and consists of only a few machines in an unstaffed, un-signposted room behind the lobby; there is aircon. Overall a really nice place to stay: very quiet neighbourhood and yet close to restaurants on the river. If you can cope with the hard bed, it's one to keep in your list to come back to.

No, it's not a posh resort, but everything is spotlessly clean, the service is excellent, the AC works brilliantly, staff are helpful, the budget price includes a generous breakfast, the pool is clean and refreshing, the location was perfect for us, and quiet.

The room was comfortable and large it had a full bath tub as well as a shower. The staff is very friendly and the gym is a nice resource. The Wi-Fi works correctly. Lots of nice places to eat nearby .
You cannot dial out from your room telephone.
The rooms desperately need better quality curtains to block out the light in the morning.
The breakfast is OK for most people I fortunately don't like eating white bread and hotdog quality sausage and sugary juice. The coffee is just plain awful. They should consider serving fresh fruit juice and offering whole-grain toast.
The pool is in the shade until 11.

We stayed here for 2 weeks and enjoyed everything about it. We liked the quiet location and walked alot to restaurants and markets. A tuk tuk was always out front to take us for longer rides to other locations. The staff was always helpful, check in was fast, and they arranged a taxi on our departure day. The rooms do not resemble the photos. I bought @ on my phone since it didn't work in my room.. it is old no room darkening shades. Noise from hotel next door. The breakfast area is right near the street..noisy motorcycles. I chose to not have breakfast after the first day. I got sick from it. It doesn't feel like a hotel..it feels like a residence. Luckily, I had a car..not near anything. I was surprised at the good reviews. I moved to another hotel and love it!

They helped us arrange cooking class and transportation to various places and provided us useful information. Lovely hotel for the price in so many ways. Awesome, friendly front desk staff (thanks to all of you). Terrific breakfast with fresh fruit every day near the pool. Big room with good a/c, t.v., nice bathroom. Very impressive design of the hotel!

The only drawback is the location--you need a taxi for most everything. Make sure to get them to use the meter or you might end up paying more than you should with their set price. Or use the Grab app if you have local internet access through your phone. Always take a card with the hotel address written in Thai or you may get some confused taxi drivers.

Consider visiting the craft center two doors down (a little hard to find--look for the sign) where individuals with developmental disabilities do weaving and then the cloth pieces are made into beautiful small and large bags, scarves, and T-shirts. It supports their work and foundation.

It's not really a hotel/serviced apartment, it's just a big room with a bed with hard mattress, no coffe/tea, horrible breakfast, no room service and without a restaurant. Location is very good and easily accessible. If you are travelling with kids think twice before booking this place.

Comfy Stay- Great Staff

Staff was super helpful and very friendly. The rooms were cleaned regularly although they were a little dated and musty. The stay was comfortable- breakfast was super convenient and there were enough options to choose from. We liked the location as we loved walking and seeing some of the local markets and china town. Wifi was great- no issues.

Good value and comfortable

Lovely quiet location. The room is a little dated and could do with a makeover. Having said, everything worked as it should and if there were any issues then the friendly staff would sort things out. Good value for money from hotels.com. Location is a 20 minutes walk to city centre or 5 minutes by tuk tuk.

Quiet and serene hotel but overrated

The hotel is hidden away from the main road which is a plus point if one needs a peaceful stay. However the room that i was given which was on the highest floor was not as comfortable as i hoped it would be. The loud thud from the fridge which happened every 10-15 mins and the aound from the aircond cost me a peaceful sleep. Finally I decided to unplugged the fridge and was able to get some peaceful sleep the subsequent nights. The toilet emitted foul odour but I found no leakage anywhere. I missed out on the breakfast for two days although I informed the staff that I had to leave early for my tour trips. When I approached them for the packed breakfast, they said they did not prepare it. It was a huge disappointment on that part as I have travelled to many places before and this was the first time I encountered such experience. I am not biased in this opinion as I met a fellow guest from USA who stayed in this hotel too. She joined me for the early morning trip and she was given a packed sandwich but I wasn’t. I tried to ask the staff for the reason why but was met with single answer, no breakfast. The staff appeared to be not so friendly and helpful. I am not sure if the staff practised preference for western tourists than Asian tourists there. I am not recommending this hotel as I believe there are many more with better service in Chiang Mai.

Clean, comfortable, with nice pool

Clean, comfortable hotel, with good pool for lap swimming, and a decent gym (but no weights). Breakfast is good, with lots of fresh fruit. Small balcony to sit outside room. Quiet area on east side of Ping River, but short walk to walking bridge to Wawarat Market. Bonus for vegetarians, there are two good vegetarian restaurants within 0.4 miles (see happycow.com). Very friendly and helpful staff.
