This golf hotel is located in a beautiful part of the Irish countryside, less than 4 km from Giant's Causeway. The city of Derry is about 38 km away and Coleraine is some 13.
5 km away, with bars, restaurants and pubs. The City of Derry Airport is around 35 km away and Belfast International Airport is about 45 km away.
This family-run golf hotel has 15 rooms and is a good base for exploring the north coast of Ireland. Guests are welcomed in the lobby and the property also offers a traditional bar and a breakfast room.
The bedrooms are in a courtyard adjacent to the main building and are laid out in American-motel style with two double beds, with an extra guest bed available if required. All but two bedrooms have baths and separate walk-in showers.
The rooms are very accessible and are graded category 1 disability access by the tourist board. The gym is fully equipped and usually rarely busy.
The hotel's nine-hole golf course crosses water seven times but fans of the fairway are never far from help and encouragement from our bar manager of over 40 years, Gerry McIlwaine. The Royal Portrush Golf Club is 24 km from the hotel.
The area is also good for horse riding (for a fee) and fishing.

Had to ask for menus, then had to find someone to take the order. Had to go get someone to order drinks. Stayed for three nights with breakfast and room was beautiful and plenty of space.

Thoroughly enjoyed our few days at Brown Trout Golf & Country Inn. Bedroom & bathroom were spotless, spacious and furnished to a high standard. Bed was very comfortable and with two double beds in our room, it would have been very suitable for a young family. Staff were friendly and helpful and food was excellent. Great location - very quiet and peaceful but not far from the North Coast, Giants Causeway, Portrush, Portstewart and Coleraine. We would definitely recommend and hope to stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Brown Trout. The Inn is extremely interesting with lots of photographs of Ireland in years past. The rooms are really large and beautifully appointed. The staff are all extremely helpful and the food is delicious. The home made wheaten bread served at breakfast is by far the best I have ever had. All in all an enjoyable experience. We will be back next spring

This was our first visit to the Brown Trout, but it will not be our last. We were in one of the refurbished bedrooms which we loved. The bed was so comfy, and the decor was lovely. We had both breakfast and an evening meal. The food was of really excellent quality and there were a great range of options to choose from. The staff are so friendly, courteous and welcoming.

This is a lovely old world charm hotel. Warm and comfortable with excellent staff. Our room was one of the recently refurbished and was well presented and beautifully clean.
Evening meal was great , the smoked salmon was probably one of the best I have ever eaten, it was smoked by the chef himself apparently.
Breakfast was all freshly prepared and tasted delicious.
