Strange staff behaviour...

The hotel itself was a nice building, and our room was spacious and comfortable, but the service from the staff was strange!

When we checked in there was a festival going on in the square, we had had a long travel day and the room directly over looked the square, we asked if there was a quieter room and told there wasn't, the staff also didn't know what time the music would go on until, it eventually stopped just before midnight, not ideal!

As we were tired we thought we would have a lie in the following morning, but we were awoken at 8:30am by the hotel reception informing us we only had half an hour until breakfast closed so we needed to go now, we explained we didn't need breakfast and we would like to sleep. About half an hour later the phone went again asking us to leave the room so the housekeeping could be done! We asked them to come back later as we would like to get ready in our own time... half an hour after that, even though the do not disturb sign was on the door, there was a knock on the door from house keeping asking us to leave the room so the room could be made up!

After we eventually left the room to go out and sightsee the room was made up, thankfully!

This same charade happened again the following morning but this time the room wasn't made up when we left, not a massive problem, but seemed that if the guests weren't working to their time frame this hotel wasn't going to budge!

On a separate note the safe didn't work and was too small to fit a laptop.

A highly overpriced hotel, not very comfortable and certainly without many amenities. Staff was polite but not very efficient and the bottle of water had 9 soles ( usual expensive price 2.5 soles).
Sheraton In Lima is much cheaper than this hotel and has so much more to offer...

The hotel was very convenient located in the center plaza. The staff was generally professional. However, it was disappointing that face towels were not provided at all, not even by request. I had to use the big hand towel to wash my face. I also wished the rooms were not carpeted, as carpets usually trap germs and dirt.

Our bedsheets had blood and poop stains on them. We asked at the reception to exchange them for clean sheets, however we were told it was not possible as they didnt have any more sheets available. I find it unacceptable in any hotel. Ended up sleeping in my sleeping bag liner which I brought for hiking.
Other than this regrettable experience, everything else about this hotel was very good: location, breakfast, amenities etc

Across the hotel is a mass construction, we didn’t really enjoyed the plaza. Otherwise it was a good hotel the staff are helpful, breakfast is a ok. I like the fact that coca tea is always ready. The room was spacious. Amenities are up to par..taxi is a little walk due to construction but the bellman were helpful..

I made a reservation for 3, and they said at the reception that it was for 2 and tried to charged me for an extra person. When I showed them my confirmation for 3 people they agreed with that, so I didn't have to pay and the rest of the check in process was fast. The room was nice, clean and big bathroom. Hotel well located. Staff assisted me in finding transportation to the airport.

Stayed here twice. Great location right on the plaza. We had an early check in the second time which actually earned us an amazing upgrade! Nice breakfast buffet in the morning (French toast) nice change from the endless scrambled eggs. Staff was very helpful and courteous.

Only hotel that we stayed in during our trip to Peru that did not provide bottled water. Room was run down and you could hear the people in the next room through the walls and vent. Even though I booked this location because of the cancellation policy, neither the hotel nor hotels.com would honor the policy regardless of me attempting to change prior to the cut off so we ended up having to pay for more nights than we wanted. Breakfast was just okay. Hotel conveniently located if you are booking tours of the lake and want to be walking distance to restaurants.

Excellent location in Puno. Within walking distance of many interests of Puno. Check-in went well with some difficulty with the staff understanding English. The room we reserved was exactly what we asked for. A busy location but ideal as to closeness of different historical sites. Our balcony facing Plaza de Armas allowed us a ring-side view of a parade one evening which was very fun and interesting for us. The buffet breakfast was good!

Hotel was OK/Good. Hpwever for it’s location in the center of city and particularly in the Plaza de Armas, I expected a more luxurious stay but observing the state of Puno, it was completely understandable. The room was a little tight, beds comfy, good wifi, great service, room was a little chilly but all the warm blankets sufficed, and nice view from our room straight into the plaza. Good hotel.

The hotel was really charming, lots of character to the design. It was in a great location central to shops, restaurants, sites, etc. Staff was pretty helpful when needed. The rooms were a \"tad\" on the tired side, but very clean. Bathrooms were updated and beds were comfortable.

The only downside was that there was a \"problem\" at the hotel while we were there. THere was construction/pounding that started before 7am. One of the 3 rooms we had for our group did not have hot water one day.

Aside from that, it was a nice hotel and we would stay there again.

Hotel was great value for the price. Interior is a little dated but is currently undergoing renovations from the top floor down. Be aware of construction noise during the from about 7.45am onwards.
Location is great, right on the main square. Be aware during festivals as loud celebrations are centered in the main square and run through the night until 5am. The balcony gave the best seats to watch the celebration but sleep was impossible until after 5.30am.

I booked this hotel for the location and the view of the main square. Unfortunately we did not get a room with a window that had a view, it faced a utility courtyard with no view. The big issue I had with the place is that they were remodeling the room above ours so they were hammering on the floor all day.

The hotel was great, very comfy bed and nice bathroom. The overall size was a bit small, but more than enough for two people with a lot of luggage.
The location is really good, by the cathedral, the main comercial street with all the restaurants and banks and shops.
The breakfast is good and generous (buffet style)
The only but is they do not allow to use a shower once you've checked out. Well, they allow after a payment of $40!

Overall I would recommend this hotel. Inside in places it may be due a redecoration. However our room was clean and comfortable so no complaints. The location of the hotel on the main square is very convenient. The hotel provides very early breakfasts which is good for those early morning starts to visit Lake Titicaca. The staff in the hotel restaurant were very helpful and charming.

Nice Hotel in Central Location

The location of this hotel is the primary advantage, being located on the main square. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, we were given a twin room when a double room was booked. When I took the issue to the woman at the service desk, she was less than polite and less than helpful, stating that we would have to wait until the following night to be relocated and refused to offer any kind of apology or recompense for the inconvenience. The twin room was very comfortable though and had it been what we had booked, it would have been very enjoyable. (I did have a severe allergic reaction to the sheets, but this is not the fault of the hotel. Perhaps the detergent?)

The next day we were moved to our double room, but the bathroom had clearly not been cleaned as there was hair all through the shower/bath. I spoke to the same woman at reception as the previous night, and again, her manner was wanting. She did, however, send someone up to clean the bathroom immediately. Dosed up on antihistamines, we slept comfortably in our new double bed.

On a far more positive note, the morning staff were all very friendly and helpful, particularly the attendee at breakfast, while the breakfast buffet itself was very good.

Overall, I believe that we had a bad experience with a number of issues with the rooms and one member of hotel staff, who was unpleasant, but I do not believe that this is indicative of the hotel as a whole, which is comfortable and reasonably priced.

The location was great and my bed was comfortable - but my room was very dark (the only window opened to an air shaft), the bathtub was cracked and didn't work - plus the wifi was terrible. I feel like I got what I paid for but probably wouldn't stay there again.

Wifi not so great in room, however they supply lounges on each floor to sit for a better signal which means you don't have to go down to the foyer to sit.
Hot water fantastic, you can even take a hot bath as the rooms have bath tubs.
A bit noisy as guess get up early to go on tours and the noise seems to carry through the building.
Great position right on the Plaza de Armas, which is quite at night. Resturants and main walking Boulavard very close.
Safe secure hotel. Can leave your bags if u go overnight on the Lake, which is a must do experience.

A decent option right on the plaza

Generally, a positive stay. We arrived very early in the morning after taking the night bus to Puno and planned to drop our bags at the hotel before going out for a tour for the day. We only had one night in Puno and were leaving very early the next morning so the hotel kindly let us switch our breakfast day to have breakfast on our check-in day instead of our check-out day. They did also offer to let us have early access to our rooms for $20/room which we declined as we didn't feel that was good value when we only paid $60/room to start and we were going to be gone all day.

Upon arriving back to properly check in, there was some confusion. We had three rooms booked but the front desk lady insisted there were only two. It took far longer than it should have to tell her to look through the papers again and find the third room. There was also an issue in that when we got in that morning, we were told to leave our bags in the corner of the lobby but when we got back, they had been tagged and put in a luggage room. We didn't have the tags, obviously, and for a moment, it seemed they wouldn't give us the bags.

Water temperature & pressure was touch and go. Water would get hot and then get cold. The pressure would be fine and then drop. Beds were comfortable enough and the room was spacious. Breakfast was good. I'd consider staying again but would likely look to see what else was available.

Guaranteed reservation,really?

Had guaranteed reservations from hotel.com,we arrived from cusco several hours away and where told the hotel was full ,no evidence of reservations according to front desk.they did move us to other hotel close by,but not like the one reserved.also 2d hotel was cheaper.hotel.com did contact hotel owners and we were not charged again as front desk in 2d hotel didn't have payment evidence!!!!
