We booked a 4 night stay 2-3 months in advance. When we arrived they told us we would have to go to another hotel in two days. They offered a complimentary dinner to offset the inconvenience. We accepted the offer but when we arrived at the new hotel we were told it was only one night and didn’t know where we were going next. After refusing to accept the inconvenience of packing and unpacking every day of our stay they found a hotel that was available for two nights.

Suitable for the location, but surely not luxury

The hotel was clean, however, it was older and needs some TLC. Tiles were broken in the bathroom and the overall appearance was just a little dated and worn. It fit our needs, but it was far from the nicest hotel we have stayed at. Dogs across the way were barking every night at 3am, and it just gave the feel of a hostel at times. The front desk staff was lovely, and the laundry service was great.

It was convenient. They were very helpful. Initially we had a little bit of uneasiness since the hotel address was changed to different area, but it was very close to the current address. They arranged all the transportation to see the Lake Titicaca site, and back to the airport with little charge.

Strike in the area so had to book another hotel for a second night. Room large. Shower hot, ok water pressure. Room extremely cold. Had to put towels under the door to stop the draft but did not help so much. Ran the heater all night to take the chill off. Floor very dirty. Breakfast looked ok but had to rush to get a bus.

We got a nice deal to stay here at the end of our travels around Peru and it was the perfect little comfort break we needed after a few intense weeks.

The room was nice and had good views of the surrounding area and sea in the distance. Probably about 5 min walk to the beach and near some good restaurants and a supermarket.

Also has a spa which is nice (although the massage wasn't amazing).

WAs clean, very well located close to the Plaza de Armas, the room was really small, but we spent only 1 night so it did't bother me that much. The hotel staff was nice and helped us to leave our luggage until evening. They have downstairs nice waiting area, with hot tea so you can spent the time waiting for company to pick you up.

Arrived at the hotel to be told that we were staying at a sister hotel in Puno which wasn’t as nice. Had our excursions and transport all booked from this hotel so in the morning when we were supposed to be picked up for a tour the hotel told them we weren’t staying there and they went without us even though we were waiting in the lobby.

Great Central hotel

Difficult to get anymore central than this. Luxury hotel, two double beds, clean rooms, TV, good WiFi connection. Breakfast buffet had plenty of choice. Hotel was incredibly quiet. Staff were friendly and let us leave our bags and use the waiting area as we had a late night pick up. Highly recommend

a hotel with an elevator

Above all, in Puno, a high-altitude city, it’s good to have an elevator according to the experience of my own and of others if not properly acclimatized. It may become difficult to climb up just few steps for anyone at anytime. It was very convenient to have an elevator in an excellent condition. The hotel is only 1 block from the main square. The staffs were friendly. When I asked for more hot water for tea (located on each floor), it was done promptly. When asked for a taxi, they called one right on time. But when I asked to open the safety box that had been closed by a previous guest, no one ever came in. The hotel offers amazing breakfast with several kinds of fruits and hams, and my favorite was fresh strawberry juice. The bedroom was fine, but the bathroom, even though very spacious, needs some updates. The tub was quite high and small, so it could be dangerous as one can slip. The safety bar was falling apart and the shower curtain rod was in an awkward position. My room had a heater, so it was warm especially late at night and early in the morning. There are two Casona hotels in thr city, so it’s a good idea to have the correct address from a reservation. Overall, it was a very good place to stay for the price I paid.

Overall very good. Breakfasts were excellent. Only problem is that the receptionist could not help me to make an international collect call to the USA. She could not put in enough numbers to make a connection. That is an issue and should be addressed. It looked like she could only make local calls.

Hotel very central and close to the Tourist Information Office. There are lots of restaurants close to the hotel and a huge supermarket not far away. Great for buying fresh fruits if you don't want to go to the municipal market. The hotel itself is a bit tired and the room a bit dark even with all the lights on. They have PC for guests to use on every floor but only one was working.

First of all, I confirmed my transportation from the airport to the hotel thru email. Thanks god I called because there wasn’t no one to go get me. Second, we got there and it was freezing cold at the hotel, and when I got to the room I thought it would be warm. No it wasn’t, it was freezing cold. So I decided to take a shower and there wasn’t no warm or hot water. My husband and i had to sleep with the two extra blankets they have there cause we couldn’t figure out how to work out the heater. On top of that they have should bad pipes that if you do a number two then you gonna be there a while to flush down. Breakfast looked like it was an appetizer for a high class get together. They have cold cuts and bread with jam and the toaster wasn’t even work. Overall I won’t stay there again!!

The hotel is clean, charming, and is located in the heart of the city so it's within walking distance of everything. The staff are exceptionally courteous, and most of them speak English. We experienced symptoms of Acute Mountain Sickness when we arrived in Puno. Thankfully, the hotel offered oxygen and Coca Tea and leaves.

Our only complaint was that the WiFi was spotty (but the staff was responsive) and the hot water in the shower would occasionally run cold for a few seconds. The hotel was high end for this price point. Lovely inside (though rooms have no view). Strongly recommend.

A very good hotel with a hostal price

The hotel was not impressive outside, but inside was quite nice. the receptionist was very nice and helpful. We pay $44 Cdn a night via expedia. You can buy a lake Titikaka full day tour at the bus stop for $50 soles which includes a lunch and a dance show (we went with Lago Tours, in turn, we were sold to Jumbo tour). It was a small group of 15 people, they will pick you up from hotel and drop you back. The location was very convinient to the main street. there is a lot of shops and resturant to eat. In general things are cheaper in Puno in comparison to Cusco and Lima. If you dare to eat local, food is even cheaper 1/4 chicken is $11 soles, comes with fries, salad and soup. We tried it out, it was delicious. Taxi were only $6 soles from bus station to hotel.

Good location, noisy though. Room was comfortable, only a few items that could of been improved. One - website said they had fridges in the room but wasn't offered when arrived. Two - water kept pooling in the middle of the bathroom floor, as it didn't drain properly.
Staff were very attentive and made every effort to communicate with us and make our stay comfortable.

Booked a suite. Tired furniture, uncomfortable bed, no central heating. Had to use an electric heater in the bathroom. Inviting jacuzzi type bath, but, it hadn't been used for a long time; when we endeavoured to enjoy the facility, we were blasted with stagnant sewage water !!!!!! Gross
Very good breakfast, but it was a race to get the first miserly portion of scrambled eggs. Very frustrated guests to the astonishment of the cook. An Australian guest , unfamiliar with the rules of engagement , completely lost her cool, and swore loudly at being pipped to the first helpings . Her husband had to escort her back to their table! You had to be there, hilarious!!! By the way , we had the first helpings.

We had no idea that on Christmas night the locals would have a fireworks competition at midnight....it was VERY impressive and went on for almost an hour! The rooms on the street are noisy so if you can get an interior room you will sleep very well! The beds are large and comfortable & the location was ideal.

Asked for a quiet room as per a couple other review recommendations. Was told room was quiet and by 10 pm everything would settle down. Was anything but. Great spot for Puno

Puno was an interesting city. Traveling with two kids, we were most concerned with being in safe neighborhoods. Casona Plaza Centro was right at the beginning of the pedestrian mall with all the restaurants. This made walking about in the evening worry free. The hotel staff was kind, helpful, and attentive. The price was also great for the location. In a city that had a lot of questionable spots, this was a good choice.

Cons: Difficult to take shower as hot water is too little. Room was cold (in December which is summer in Peru) so had to ask an extra heater. / Pros: Staff are friendly. When we arrived we had altitude sickness so wasn't feeling well, the staff immediately gave us oxygen mask treatment which was a big help. Location is close to Lake Titicaca. Breakfast is good.

after a long bus-ride from Cuzco, staying in this hotel was just amazing. they have beautiful and clean rooms. the staffs are all nice and kind. there are a few computers you can use internet freely. they provide shampoos, soaps, cleansing cream, and even hair treatment! you can borrow a hair dryer if you ask the front. the most pleasant point during my stay here was the breakfast. varied fruits, cheese, breads, yogurts, and drinks... i loved it. the draining of the bathroom was not good. and if you stay in the room facing the street, you will hear the sound of people talking outside, it can be lousy sometimes. anyway, i liked this hotel. thank you for all the great services.

Perfect choice for a stay in Puno!

In a fairly poor and run down town, this hotel was a great clean option to stay in. The hotel itself has a great feel to it inside with unique decorations. It is in the heart of the city too, within walking distance of the points of interest and a great street with shops and restaurants. We are a couple about age 30, we stayed for 3 nights. The hotel staff was great, very friendly and helpful. Organized tours for us to the floating islands, Taquile, and Sillustani so we didnt have to worry about sifting through the overwhelming amount of tour operators in town! The free breakfast was delicious as well. Would stay again and would recommend to anyone!

The hotel is central, as it's on the main drag, however the down side to that is the noise, goes on to a lesser degree between 3 and 5 am, but there is constant traffic hooting and dogs barking, there is a collie type dog which appears to live on a roof top a couple of houses away, probably as a guard dog.The plus side is the friendly staff, good breakfast choice, comfortable bed and clean room with lovely hot shower.....the toilet paper in the bin is a little disconcerning as I thought that went out some years ago, modernisation(in the plumbing area) has not cought up in Peru just let.

Overall - good value for money.

Pros - very good location just one block from the central square, taxi pick up service from the station provided, internet computers and free altitude tea, good price

Cons - Our room only had an internal window which overlooked the corridor (some rooms had external windows). Sheets were stained (but looked washed). Fixtures and fittings were dated.
