paid over $ 200 for one night, and at that price I genuinely expected a spotless room. Unfortunately, when I went to use the bathroom, the shower was clearly not clean, which was very disappointing. I had to notify reception about the issue and wait before I could even shower.
That said, the staff were very courteous and handled the situation politely. Someone very kind came to clean the bathroom, and I appreciate their professionalism. However, for the price charged, guests should not have to report cleanliness issues or delay basic amenities like showering. A higher standard of housekeeping is expected at this rate.

This hotel was exceptional! The view was phenomenal from our room as we were able to see lake Titicaca as well as the sun rises. The staff were very friendly and were available for anything that we needed.

They have a beautiful terrace out back that can be used for great pictures and for an outside sunset picnic.

There is also a pier nearby so you don't have to go into the main city to access any boats if you are visiting Uros.

Hotel is in a gated area so it feels very safe. However, it is uphill. So if you don't want to walk up hills, this is not the hotel for you.

The breakfast was the best we've had in Peru.

Beautiful and scenic property. We had a sunset view room and it was marvelous. Dinner was delicious, although service was lacking. Breakfast was incredible with so many options including an entire gluten free section! Highly recommend for a serene gorgeous getaway.

Brilliant location overlooking Lake Titikaka. It is out of town but worth the location.
Rooms are ok and have all the amenities one needs.
Breakfast was ok with reasonable choice.
Dinner at the restaurant was actually really good.
Staff were all excellent.
The lifts could do with upgrading since both were very slow and small.

This hotel has outstanding overseeing view of Titicaca lake. Watching sunrise from the room is magnificent experience. Room is nice and bed was very comfortable. Hotel has a garden overseeing Titicaca lake and beautiful sunset and sunrise could be seen. Dinner at restaurants was very delicious. My stay at GHL hotel Lago Titicaca was amazing and would definitely stay again.

Fantastic hotel on its own island on Lake Titicaca

Beautiful hotel with property utilizing almost an entire island. We enjoyed hiking around island on the hotel property. Easy access to town via taxi. Restaurant and bar were delightful. Views of Lake Titicaca were spectacular. We highly recommend this hotel.

Not worth more than 3 stars

Other than a pretty view, the hotel is not worth 4 stars, let alone 5. The entire hotel is outdated and needs renovation. The food is heavy and greasy (worst meal we've had in Peru so far). Check-in was listed at 3pm and the room was not ready before 3:30 pm despite limited occupation of the hotel. I contacted the hotel about the transfer from the airport (which is listed as a service) and only received a reply more than 1h after we had checked-in and had organized our own transfer). Also, we inquired about tours with the hotel and they systematically quoted prices that were significantly higher than every other tour company we spoke to - we ended up booking alternative services because the hotel recommendations were terrible. The beds in the room were also very small and there is no convenient transfer to the city (you need to get taxis on your own). Would not recommend.

Staff super friendly but....

The service and people was great. The only issue I encountered is that my oxygen saturation went down to 76% and my body temp was 102.2 after taking 600mg of ibuprofen which at that point was life threatening. The staff didn't offer to call offered and gave me oxygen for 15 mins. The room didn't have a thermostat but luckily it was cold outside and the windows can be open. They did provide me a thermometer and pulse oxymeter on request. I literally had to survive the night like that, nobody from the staff called or came check on me. I am in the medical field, in the USA those readings are considered a medical emergency. I could have gone into respiratory arrest or cardiac arrest while asleep. The day after when I asked they told me they have a physician on call and I wasn't offered him to come check on me. My recommendation is for the hotel to train their staff about potential medical emergencies and have a protocol. I booked a flight the next morning and returned to Lima. Other than that breakfast, staff friendliness, room comfort and view 100%. I tried to add a photo about my saturation and heart rate reading but didn't let me.

What a view

Fabulous hotel in the best location, the views from the rooms is amazing, looking out over Lake Titicaca. Alpacas and guinea pigs running around. It is out of town, but there’s not alot in town so not missing anything. If you’re looking to stay in Puno this is the place to stay.

The place to stay

Would definitely recommend this hotel. It is situated overlooking Lake Titicaca and the view is beautiful, especially during sunset. The staff were wonderful and the hotel amazing. Would have liked to have stayed longer but the trip must go on.

Desde el momento que llegamos la atención A1, te hacen sentir como en casa, la vista del cuarto que nos asignaron fue espectacular. En todo momento hubo interacción por parte de ellos con nosotros, mi parte favorita: siempre habia disponibilidad de te de muña y mate de coca para el mal de altura en la entrada. Los desayunos bastante completos sobretodo el jugo verde, el cafe y el queso paria. Los baños un poquito antiguos y para mi gusto le faltaba un poco mas de iluminacion pero amplios. Amenities full. Y como el hotel esta en las afueras del centro, tu puedes pedir un taxi (seguro) por medio de ellos sin recargos. Definitivamente volvería a hospedarme.

The hotel sits at the foot of Lake Titicaca providing excellent views from all rooms. Buffet style breakfast with a great selection. Since the lake is high up in the Sierra, altitude sickness will likely happen anywhere you stay in Puno. Since we all needed oxygen during our stay, the staff delivered oxygen tanks to the room as requested. Excellent service, highly recommended.

Not 5 Star at all — More like an outdated Motel

Firstly, I never leave reviews but had to for this hotel.

I am completely shocked this hotel has high ratings on hotels.com, and that it is a 5 star Hotels. It is like a 2 or 3 star motel.

While it was affordable, it is very outdated and not a comfortable hotel to stay in.

I trust hotel.com ratings when making my bookings, and did that when looking for a hotel in Puno. This is far from a 5 star!! In a bad way..

Rooms do not have A/C, so we were forced to open the windows to get fresh airflow and unfortunately the smell of this area of Lake Titicaca is very sulfuric so not a great smell for inside your room.

Amenities were very basic, and reminded me of motels in the United States. Breakfast was all cold and very dry, and the staff at front desk wasn’t great. They noted they had a spa, and it was a jacuzzi that was half full of very green water, and a tiny gym.

The view from the room is the only nice thing about this hotel, but it really should be remodeled or rebuilt.

We are still shocked that it can be considered 5 star and have zero clue how it got that status…

The property claims as 5 star hotel but its not worth for the price paid. Very limited food options and everything is expensive including water and coffee.

Property is located outside of puno city so guests cant even go out to get good dinner. Hotel doesnt provide any transportation to the port or the city.

The view was out of the world! I had taken a lake view room, it was upgraded at check in to a lake view suite. The view from our room was so good that we just felt like staying the room most of the time!

Todo excelente, el Check in y el check out muy rápidos siempre dispuestos a ayudarte en lo q necesites transporte, actividades, etc. El menú de almuerzo súper rico, las camas muy cómodas y muy limpio todo. Lo único q no me gusto es que apagan el aire acondicionado en la noche aunque debo destacar que cuando informe mi molestia me llevaron un ventilador. Aún así sería bueno que no apagaran los aires acondicionados en la noche el cuarto no es que se queda tan frío que digamos.

The staff were pleasant the hotel was very nice and the views over lake titicaca were amazing. Big shout out to Neil from the on-site tour company who organized our trip to Uros at short notice (6pm the night before the trip) after we had issues with our pre-booked tour, as well as organizing other trips and looking out for us, he went above and beyond to make sure everything went well for us.

Clearly nicer property compared to other ones in Puno and Lake Titicaca. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Outdoor set-up is nice. The room is nice with good views, but outdated (e.g.blowdryer looks like its from 80s).
