Small and need renovation guesthouse.

They said they “upgrade” me to a better room when I checked in. Yet, the condition of the room is really poor. I can see wires Socket (internet and phone) is exposed, TV remote on/off switch is not working, the so call cloth cabinet is so short that shirts are touching the bottom, wallpaper is peeling off, shower room is so small that I have difficulty to turn.

Conveniently located but out of the busy street

Conveniently located but out of the busy street. Many food choices nearby until late (past midnight). Bathroom is bigger than most similar size hotel. Someone is in the front desk 24 hr with many cameras. Only complain is noise from the hallway. Door does not automatically close and make reminder sound if you don't play attention. I have to go out to close someone's door at 2 am.

Quite a walk away from MTR. About 8 min. Serviced by a nearby convenience store. 15 min to temple Street night market and 8 min to Ladies Mkt. Service personnel are kind and friendly, but mostly spoke in Cantonese, not English. Room size decent for the price, but don't expect too big given thata how Hong Kong is. Walls not sound proof. Something about the card access door... It sounds like an alarm if you do not close the door in.. 6 seconds? So you be hearing the alarm sounding off from your neighbours when they don't close fast enough. Can be annoying. WiFi connection decent and speedy

Actually was not a long walk to Mongkok MTR. Around there's many eatery and close to many actions. Despite that, it is still a quiet street (minus some ground works done at the main road). For the price and e standard size of HK rooms, this is considered value for money. Prompt room cleaning daily. Would consider staying again in future if back to HK

Very big room for HK standards, big toilet with a lot of hot water and pressure. Wifi worked very well, in general good value.
The area is not so good, you need to walk about 10 min to arrive in the most commercial streets of Mongkok. But not a problem for us.
I would recommend this hotel.

This place was good for the amount of money I paid. Room lights were half working so the room was very dim. My legs were bit by bugs. Hair in the shower drain that wasn’t my hair. Air condition remote battery was dead. But location was very good to the busy streets

Friendly place

Room was bigger than that of the hotel on the same block where I stayed at last year. This hotel is better. Has a safe and electric cooler (ref) in the room.
Right where I need to go. Very near shopping and transportation.

Best value for money at best location

We were pleasantly surprised by how much bigger the room (and the bathroom) is compared to the few other hotels we had tried in the area. The double is a real double bed, unlike other slightly wider single. The staff are all so helpful and friendly. The location is amazing with everything from transport to shops and money exchange right at the door step. We will definitely only stay here for our future trips.

Some part of the room condition is rather not good. Some rust on the fake ceiling in the bathroom. Ventilation not good. Hotel location is very convenient but near a shady area (prostitutes). Access from \"Canton Road\" is much safer than the other. Room is noisy and if ur neighbor talks loud, u can almost hear their conversation. Staffs are very nice and good. The equipment feel clean and the room has everything hotel should have. Bed is ok. Tv is small but ok.

It was an amazing stay at pop Hotel. The staffs are helpful in terms of directions on whatever you need or wherever you want to go. The hotel is surrounded by different kinds of local restaurants and activities at especially at night. There are both bus and Mtr stations nearby that's convinient to access wherever you want to go to. However, I was expecting the room size to be too small but was surprised it wasn't as small as I taught and was very clean room. I have choosen pop as my place of stay anytime I visit Hongkong.

Location of hotel is good. Its near the famous Ladies Market and Sneakers Market. Within walking distance. I booked a suite knowing that the size of hotel in HKG is small. Size of suite is ok but the furniture really needs to be updated. The sofa bed looked so used and rundown that I dont dare let my son sleep on it. Then for a suite theres only 2 pillows on the king sized bed. They are so soft I wondered if they are really pillows. But the worst part is housekeeping. We actually tied up 2 plastic bags of rubbish but housekeeping didn't even clear them. We came back to hotel after a day of sightseeing to a hotel room with rubbish not cleared :( Even the mug that i used and forgot to wash in the morning was still stained because housekeeping didnt even wash it for me.

This basic, no frills hotel is conveniently located in Mong Kok. The hotel staff was very accommodating and helpful. The hotel is quite basic with the essentials that you need for a pleasant stay. The rooms are quite small but comfortable. The hotel is close to the city's rapid transit system and the airport bus stop.

Though it's a small hotel, it's cozy and of reasonable size. Location is accessible and the nearest MTR station is a few block away within walking distance. It's a nice surprise to receive a complimentary breakfast snack bag which is good for 2. A suggestion for improvement is to have double pillows for each person instead of just one as the pillow is rather flat. The pillow sheets need to be replaced with new ones too as they are rather yellowish and aged.

We had a great experience. The room is small but filled with the necessities including Aveda products, a hair curler, and hairspray. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We were allowed to store our luggage there even though we couldn't check in until 2pm. And on our way out, they had called a cab to take us to the airport for that morning after we had simply mentioned needing one the night before. The place was also on a quiet street but was only a 7 minute walk away from Nathan Street, malls, restaurants, and the ladies market. Definitely would stay there again, was perfect for our needs!

Horrible POP Hotel in Hong Kong

There is no sound insulation at all. The lady next room kept talking on the phone and I could hear every word she said till 11:30 pm. I went over and knocked on the door but she did not answer. I called front desk to complain about this. She lowered her voice for less than 3 minutes than went back to really loud. About 2 am, there was a group of tourists came back and started talking in the hallway. Could not get much sleep at all. Horrible place. I will NEVER stay there again.

POP Hotel review

I was on business trip in China and need to exit from China because of my China visa. Chose this hotel because of Mongkok location. The daily rate for this hotel is just slightly more than the hotel I had in China. However the hotel I stayed in China is 5 star. This one in the internet stated 3 star but I think it does not deserve any star. Massage parlours are around. Eating is nit an issue. It is very near Langham Place shopping mall and with movie the theatre.

Interesting Hotel within Red Light District

The hotel is one of the best looking one within what we call red light district. The only thing dangerous about this hotel is they printed their hotel name and your hotel room number on your access key to your room. And by Murphy's law, I lost my room key. I have to run back to my hotel and replace the card just hoping that no one come into my hotel room to steal anything. You would think that should be a hotel standard. Besides that, everything is clean and no complains with the rooms.

Best part about Pop Hotel is its location, just a quick walk to Mongkok MTR, Ladies Market, and Langham Place shopping mall.

Staff were not friendly but did their job and would assist if you had questions. Room was bright and generally clean, but there were some stains on the walls, the bathroom smelled a little, and on the first day there were holes and stains on my towel which were then replaced. Another thing that bothered me was the fluctuating temperature of the shower, it was either too hot or too cold, no middle ground. Pillows were also among the softest I've ever experienced in a hotel.

Apart from that, everything else was fine. Sleep quality was decent, the air conditioning was fine. If you don't require much, and just intend to go back to the hotel to shower and sleep, then it is sufficient, and justified for the price that you're paying.

Superb location in Mongkok, 5 min walk to Langham Place and thus the MTR. Aloooooot of eateries and whatsoever around the hotel. But the neighbourhood is a tad shady at night with some signs of red light district but no worries because everywhere in Mongkok is always flooded with people. Room size is decent, can put 2 fairly large luggage with no problem. TV was small but great reception. Wifi works okay but don't get the corner rooms like 201 or 302, they have real bad reception. Can only use the wifi at the door for 201 sadly. Otherwise speed wise was decent. Great stay with affordable prices.

Fantastic location, okay accommodations

The place was decent, but since the hotel is fairly new, the rooms showed wear where there shouldn't have been any. The walls had skid marks on them, the laminate floors stains, and though the bathroom was okay, the furnishings were sparse, the absorber on the door rusty, and there was an air of half-hearted cleanliness. Several other complaints include apathetic service attitude, stained and torn towels being served, and a shower that had very finicky water temperature. Our biggest complaint however is the thinness of the walls, which allowed one to easily hear doors slamming and people arguing at all hours of the night. However, all said and done, the location was fantastic, and the area is fairly safe even late at night. Langham Place is located about 4 blocks away, and has an entrance to the Mong Kok MTR station. Just down the street is the Soy Street subway to get to Tung Choi St and Ladies St, where the action is at. Getting there and away was fairly convenient using the A21 bus from the airport. The beds are comfortable, and the AC is strong. Wifi service is available in the rooms free of charge, as is wired ethernet. There is a digital programmable safe for your passports, and a generous sized desk for your belongings/laptop. Though service was surly, they got things done fast; when we requested new towels and another pillow, they were at our door in a few minutes. All in all, not an amazing experience, but decent for the price, and best of all convenient.

The bed & bedroom were small but we were there for the location-some noise from the children in the next room but acceptable. No breakfast or dinner facility but plenty of local places to eat in the area and McDonalds or KFC if you want the easy way out. Convenient for Airport Bus and Subway (10-15 minute walk)-get an Octopus Travel Card at the airport and save on the Bus (21A). Some questionable massage parlours in the area but no approaches were made (...should I feel insulted...?) No free maps in English, so pick these up at the airport. Street markets close.

I would recommend this hotel in view of the price, cleanliness, convienency, free Wifi surround, also the strong current of the bath shower and strong aircon. Very convenient from airport as to take A21 to Mongkok town . (By the way airport bus do have free wifi as not many people are aware of) . Get a deluxe room instead of the standard room in term of the room size (bed size will be the same) .

Right in the heart of MongKok...

Small hotels with approx about 20 rooms. There's really no customer service there. So don't expect much. People in HK are a little more rude and have no customer service skills. About two blocks from the hotel is a bunch of girls (prostitution). They don't do anything to you if you mind your own business. Then when you walk more on Soy Street, you go to the busy streets of lady Market and a bunch of other stores. its a good area to get cheap food but its very crowded....

We stayed here with our 6month old daughter, it's true that the rooms are small, but I think your bound to get that no matter where you stay in Hong Kong unless you stay in a high end hotel. The hotel/guest house is conveniently located to the MRT and a few other local sights. The hotel reception staff unfortunately aren't really responsive to their guests. They tended to find their computer screens more interesting then the hotel guest standing in front of them. It may have been that they were hoping to avoid having to speak in English due to the language barrier or maybe that's the norm in terms of service??? Most other places though people were super lovely and helpful.

POP Hotel in Mongkok - Conveinent & Affordable

This is the first time I am staying in POP Hotel but not my first time in Hong Kong. I've stayed in quite a number of hotels and that even included hostel as well. I was there on a vacation for 11 days this time with my friend. Therefore, we have decided to get a convenient and affordable stay.

Well, indeed was the location very convenient. 7-eleven is just across the street. 2 streets down, you can get very fresh and delicious egg tarts. Many eateries round the corner as well that closes midnight. Walking distance (10 minutes maximum if you are a slow walker) to the MTR. Walking distance to the streets (ladies market...etc). Shopping mall nearby which has theatre that offer late night movies. It might not be one of the fancy hotels you ever stay in. But the price that you are paying for gets you a convenient location, clean and rather new rooms that are of a decent size (not the usual mickey mouse size rooms). Plus they've centralised air-condition. So when you return to your room, you wont get a hot stuffy room. I can stay I'll return to the hotel during my next stay.

But I couldn't say it's the perfect hotel. There's a little minus points - such as; the walls are too thin. So if you're a light sleeper, my advice to you is bring ear plugs. As the door of the hotel rooms need to be slam to shut it. The noise from the doors and next door might be a nuiscance to you. And what I also didn't like was the size of the TV (too small, about 26 inch?) and there's no DVD player.

Nevertheless, I did enjoyed my stay in Pop Hotel. And would recommend anyone who's looking for an affordable stay with a convenient location.

Excellent experience at POP Hotel

It is a very small hotel located on one of the small streets (Canto street), so even locals may not have heard of it, making it difficult to ask for directions. It will be useful to remember the hotel's phone number and both its english and chinese name. Or simply get a taxi (its very cheap!)

However, the hotel is stylish and the room is very comfortable! It is small but bright and airy (Wood flooring instead of carpet). Request for pillows and towels are met instantly at no excess charges. Wifi was also available for free. The front desk people are also very helpful when we asked them for directions (in English).

Once you get use to the area, it is very easy to navigate, being near mongkok MTR and many eateries/snacks (the Tim Ho Wan dim sum is a must try!), Fa Yuen Street, Ladies Market, etc.

In addition, although the checkout time is at noon, luggages can be left with the frontdesk free of charge. We did give tips for this service though.

In all, our 5-day stay at this hotel was purely memorable =)

Small little twin room

A bit far from hotel to the bus stop . About 10 min walking distant to the LangHam Shopping Centre. It may need to cross over the underpass to reach the shoppiing centre. One of the shower is the normal design, the other one is at the top which you can enjoy the alternative way to shower in the bathroom.
