The location of the hostel is excellent, close to Mong Kok MTR station, bus to airport & many food places. The owner is friendly & provides a lot of information about transport & food places when you ask him.
The layout of the toilet is not good, though I can understand the limited space for the toilet.
I arrived early & wanted to put my luggage in the hostel before going sightseeing, but had to call them for assistance even after I WhatsApp them.

I got a room with a spacious, and comfortable bed. The air conditioning, and hot water are running well. Could do with a little of dusting, otherwise it's a perfect place for a tight budget traveler who seeks a no frill, no thrill good value for money place to stay. There are a lot of dining options near by, and easy access to public transportations. A happy stay for me.

Right in the heart of Mongkok, so if you're looking for location, look no further.

The room condition is okay, the pictures are accurate. It is clean, but a bit outdated, at least the air con works.

I found a hostel that was about the same price and it was more modern but it wasn't in Mongkok, depends what your preferences are.

This place was clean, older building and no window which was not good but it was cheap for those on a budget
I found another place paid 4 times as much , got a window and a newer building haha

The location of the hostel was strategic. It’s just a few minutes walk from Mongkok station, exit D2.

I booked a room for 5 people but I didn’t expect the room to be so small. Too small till we can’t even open a luggage proper, let alone 5 luggage.

Nice that they provide hot and cold water.

My christmas vacation stay at the dragon hostel

Location is very nice, its very strategic. Everywhere you want to go in mongkok is within the area. Ladies market, car shop accessories, langham palace, mcdonalds, jolibee, kfc, sneakers street, goldfish market, restaurants, and the mtr is just walking distance. The hostel is good since i only need a place to stay for sleeping and a bath everyday since im always out all the time. My little problem is only the bathroom size coz its quite small and im a 5'10\" guy with heavy built. I had a hard time using the urinal bowls coz its nearly close to the wall. Wifi not so good very slow and sometimes it logs off probably due to fully booked season. But overall i will comeback again in this hostel

Cheap hostel in central location

Cheap price and small room. The hostel is located in Mong Kok, one of the busy shopping district. 3 minute walk to subway that allow you to get to your destination. Friend staff and 24 hour on duty. Need help, just ask the staff.

First Hong Kong Hostel experience.

Admittedly, I did not know what to expect in a hostel, nor do I know if this place is typical, NO TOWELS. The Dragon Hostel is in a super old building with the words, Sincere House, over the entry way door. The front door IS NOT on Argyle street, like the address, but around the corner on Fa Yuen Street. The Dragon Hostel is with many of other hostels and permanent residents in the same building. Because it's a super old building, there's a lot on add-on items over the years; exposed plumbing, electrical conduit, mismatched and lumpy flooring/tile. We had a window in our room that was covered and zip-tied shut. Being humid Hong Kong, it was evident that mildew is hard to avoid in the bathrooms. AC and water heater worked great, and was glad there was a community refrigerator. Our private room had room to sleep 3, but not room for luggage for 3. Beds are not the same length as US beds: shorter. It was fine for sleeping, but not for any kind of comfortable relaxing at the end of a traveling day. I recommend this hotel only because it was a reasonably priced place to sleep.

No doubt it is the nearest to the MTR at a very reasonable price, but the condition of the room is bad, e.g. broken shower head holder, TV reception that is very poor, noisy airconditioner with dirty air filters. Small room size is expected given the price and its HK, but general upkeeping of the facilities is not there yet.

The place is a bit let down than from what I remembered. Has a crummy feel and the room, especially the bathroom is just too small. There is barely any room to maneuver for two with luggages. Spend a little more somewhere else if you want to feel more comfortable. Otherwise, location is great though if you want to be in the thick of Mong Kok.

Good Budget Hostel

Great Hostel - cheap, amazing location in Kowloon (it's a bit of a hike to the star ferry and hong kong, not too bad though, but it's right off of Nathan Street and directly adjacent from the Ladies Market). The staff - one guy - was super nice and helpful, the rooms are clean and well air-conditioned, and the beds are comfortable. Only problem is there aren't really individual storage lockers, my room had one drawer that could be locked, and the wifi on the sixth floor is pretty rough. Also, this is not a backpacker's hostel, in case you wondering - it's a budget hostel, and with that in mind, it's a **** good budget hostel. Expect to stay with locals or travelers. Also, the entrance is a little hard to find - make sure you go to the right entrance - it's across from a 7/11 and a spanish hotel sign.

Best value and location

Good value for a Hong Kong hostel. The location have many malls and street vendors. 2 minute walk to Mong Kok subway which allow you to go to any place. The room is small and you are likely to get bunker bed, but this is normal for hostel in Hong Kong. The room is clean everyday and the shower is hot. Small discount tickets to local attractions.

A cheap hostel, in Kowloon, close to bus & train\n

This is just what I needed! Comfortable bed, small room, but with all the necessities and spotlessly clean. Toilet and bathroom is tiny, in the Asian Style, but once again, very clean. Air conditioning great, WiFi excellent, staff helpful and efficient. Near to lots of local eateries ( not touristy ones) and could get here on bus A21 straight from airport to Admiralty station, very near to hostel. Also very close to Mong Kok station, which has trains to Central station, with intown check in for the airport.

Good location, near to Mong Kok MTR station (big point), accessible to most of the main streets in Mong Kok area. However room is fairly small which i think it's suitable for backpackers.

Stayed in this hostel with my family is much packed, unable to sit around to have a good chat, and unpack luggage too. Area is too narrow and only been able to walk around. Bathroom is small, need to wait 10 min for heater to function. I do feel that their bed sheet and blanket could wash or change more frequently, as i noticed some unpleasant smell on it. TV is not available. Could hear noise at night from the streets or public bus. Do expect to get little discomfort at night to get into good sleep.

I have never stayed in another hostel in Hong Kong, so I can't compare. But the dorm was extremely small, and this hostel doesn't really have a common area. Wifi worked fine. No individual reading lights in the dorm.

The staff were all nice and helpful, making the stay pleasant nonetheless.

Dragon Hotel 10 day experience

Great location- heart of shops and markets in Mongkok. However, if you want any luxury in your stay this not for you. The building is tatty and looks run down. People's washing everywhere. Building materials left in walkways.
But if you're ok with all that and just want a place to sleep so you can wander all day then this is cheap but adequate. Room was tiny. No place for hanging clothes. Bathroom is washroom toilet all in one, so everthing gets wet, then dries while you're out. Hot water fine, No towels - they cost extra.

The room is smaller than what you would be used to but is the norm for Hong Kong. Clean room with bedding. You need to bring your own towels and hair dryer or you can buy/rent from reception.
You may have to wait for the elevator as there is only one for the odd floors and one for the even floors. Hope you are not claustophobic as it is normally filled with 6-9 people when it is full.
There is free Wi-Fi which is great for research and a fridge in the common area to store your drinks and food (remember to label your room #) as well as kettles for hot water.
The area is what makes this a great place to stay. You are blocks away from the Ladies Market, Dundas Street (for street eats) and all the stores that are outside i.e. 7-11, Watson's, Cosmed, jewellery stores, clothing stores, banks and the MTR station (Mong Kok). The convenience is what makes this place a great stay as well as Stanley who is super helpful and nice in providing recommendations and directions. You can buy discount tickets from reception. We could not take advantage as the cable cars to Lantau Island were closed for maintenance while we were there and there were no ferry tickets as the Macau Grand Prix was happening the weekend we wanted to go. We stayed in Dragon Hostel for 4 nights (Nov 1-5). The room is good enough for us (5 adults). Although the bathroom is too small. But overall, the room is clean. They do housekeeping everyday and even change sheets after 2 days. The place is walking distance from the Mong Kok MTR station. The street market is just across the street. The hotel staff are really nice. They can speak English. The hostel also offers discounted tickets if HK Disneyland, Ocean Park, Ngong Ping 360, etc. If you arrived early or if you have late flights, you can leave your things with them. They will lock them together and just tell them what time are you going to get your things before leaving. Overall, our stay in Dragon Hostel is great!

This is a budget hostel with excellent prices for private rooms. The location was fantastic as well as the service from the people who run it (so kind and helpful). The room I had was very simple, just a bed, a.c., and no windows. I chose to share a bathroom which is a shower over the toilet style (so some people might want something more, but it works). You will want to bring your own towel as they are not provided. For the price, it was a great choice and I would definitely stay here again.

Great location in Kowloon. #A21 Airport bus takes you near the hotel for 33HKD( 16.5HKD if elder(65). Nothing fancy but adequate. Ckean, quiet. Staff very helpfull and friendly. I have stayed here a # of times. Always the same.

We are a family of 5:3 adults and 2 kids. Stayed for 5 nights
Cleanliness of room/hotel - average. They only took out the garbage but didn't change the bedding. Not sure if you need to request for it.
Quality of service - average.
Hotel amenities - towels are not free. Need to bring your own towel. Hot water for coffee or tea is outside the room in a common area, same with microwave.
Hotel location - Great. Ladies Market is just across the street. Plenty of electronics stores. Near public transportaion (MTR and Bus to the airport). Plenty of restaurants. If you want to try their street food, you can find them in every corner.
I recommend this place if you plan to be in Hong Kong for pleasure. Would stay again.

Nice stay, small beds for anyone 5'10\" or taller

Our family only had a few nights here, it was pleasant, the rooms were small but nice for a short stay. The beds were short for me as I am 6'3\" and slept diagonally in the bed as best I could. The staff was very helpful and appreciate their professionalism. I would recommend the Dragon Hostel while in HK. Also, there was a Taxi stand just outside their door.

I found a good deal online and stayed in a single room. It was the tiniest room I've ever stayed in! Can't believe there was a shower in there too! It was not a bad place, but not particularly great either. Staff were friendly and helpful - probably the best thing about the place. Location was a little too far north in Mongkok, just meant longer walking to the Temple Street markets and the harbour.

Well its cheap for hong kong so wasn't expecting the earth. I dont really know how its rated 4out of 5 on trip advisor? I got a single room and it was tiny (expected) but the bed was small also. I'm 6foot4 so had to pull the mattress over one end to make it work. The building is pretty run down as is the decor inside. Lifts and wifi worked well. Toilet doubles as the shower. Took a little getting used to. Would only stay a couple of days if i had to again. I am writing this from solar tower camp and it beats it in every category hands down. If you dont have to be in the centre of hong kong. Go there instead.

Great value for money

The family room at Dragon Hostel was excellent value for money. The whole family of five fit in the room.
Be aware this is a Hong Kong style apartment, so is very small and has a Hong Kong style bathroom with hand held shower. We loved this as it was a novel experience.

The hostel was immaculately clean and had air conditioning. The beds are on the short side, so if you are tall, you might find them a little small.

It is located very conveniently near Monk Kok MTR Station. Try to avoid taking suitcases through the streets of Mong Kok and the MTR at peak hour - It's too busy.

You get what you pay for. It's really cheap for the location which is very central and close to the metro. The rooms are small but ok for sleeping. The rooms are clean. It's really not a place for hanging around in your room. But then again who goes to hong kong to be in a room anyway? One thing that I thought was a minus was that you have to bring your own towels for showering etc. which I felt was a little odd. But they did sell really small ones in the hotel reception. But have that in mind before you go there. They should write that somewhere in their description I think. But other than that, the owner was helpful enough and everything went smoothly from check in to check out. I can recommend it to someone who wants a cheap, clean alternative in central Hong Kong.

the location is ideal to go anywhere in hong kong via MTR (Mongkok station). The room is small but safe because it has a 2 door system, it is also clean someone will clean your room every day, you must also bring your own bath towel.

Some obstacles, but would stay again.

The service at the Dragon Hostel was very well. The staff were friendly and were able to answer questions and attend to our requests. Upon entering the room, it is quite clean and the washroom was more spacious than i thought. Unfortunately, the room we were in had ants crawling all over one particular wall. We saw two cockroaches that came out of nowhere, which was a bit of a fright considering my friend referred this place due to the fact that he had never seen cockroaches there before. The Dragon Hostel staff were quick to apply spray to the walls while we were out. Unfortunately, that did not help, but the staff was quick to change us into another room promptly. The neighborhood is very convenient with various shopping centers, street markets, high-end and street style restaurants available all over.
Overall, it is a budget friendly hostel that i would visit again.

Quiet, clean, small room, good for a short stay

The Dragon Hostel is very good overall for a short stay. I stayed in a single room with a shared bathroom.

Overall it's a clean and fairly quiet place to lay your head for budget travelers. The room and bathroom was very small as expected in this price range in Hong Kong. The main common area doesn't have much going for it really. Not even very comfortable chairs. Luggage storage was very helpful when I needed to go.

Some of the staff members were more helpful than others. All seemed to speak English fine. \"The man who checked me disliked speaking Mandarin even though I heard him speaking to another guest just before me. He said Mandarin is for Mainlanders. We speak Cantonese.\" Kind of a bad attitude. I just want to practice my Mandarin every chance I get.

This is one of those places where it is obvious some interesting things go on. One night a Chinese guest was standing naked outside except for his underwear waiting for someone to let him. After following me in I heard some woman laughing after he went in the room. It didn't take to much intelligence to figure out what was going on.

The location is terrific near the subway and a bustling neighborhood. The nearby gold fish/pet street was especially interesting. I would avoid the street food as I got quite sick after eating some of the grilled meat nearby. I thought that street food might be safer in Hong Kong.

Overall I would not hesitate to come back for a short stay.

Hostel's room size not bad!

Apart from the comfort level of my room, the wasn't anything else that impressed me. Bathroom towers cost extra and no telephones to use.

Great for the location and access to other venues

The Sincere Building upper floors are accessible via two entrances from east and west side of the building. Each side would have two elevators (one for odd number floor and one for even floors). Dragon hostel office and some rooms were on the 7th floor, while the family and rooms with private bathrooms were behind Door 1303 on the 13th floor. Once you checked in you will get two keys to access one outer door (room 1303) and your room door. Inside 1303 door is the common area accessible only to the Hostels 13th floor guests, it has a hot water pot, boiled drinking water pot and refrigerators.

We were in a small family room with two double and one twin bunk on top of one on the double, and one enclosed wet bathroom. Mattresses were adequate, air con was cold, wall water heater was very hot. The room was worth the $ we paid for the ease of access to subway, convenience stores, many restaurants and noodle shops. The best one we liked was just across the street from the west side of the building, it has number 17 on the signs outside to tell you each bowl of noodle would only cost $HK17. The building overlook the Lady alley to the south (way overprice, better deal was at the small street vendors, after 4-5PM, about 3 blocks north of the Dragon Hostel).

Overall, the family room in the Dragon Hostels has the basic and adequate necessities equate to a 2 stars hotel. But factor in the pricing, responsive hostel staffs and the location. I gave it four stars.
