Die Unterkunft an sich war In Ordnung, auch wenn die Flure und Räumlichkeiten schon sehr wilde Farben haben. Enttäuscht waren wir nur von dem sehr unfreundlichen Barservice und der total überlaufenden Sauna, die für die Anzahl der Gäste sehr unterdimensioniert gebaut worden ist.

Great hotel with amazing breakfast and all staff was super friendly. Only item to improve is parking as the hotel relays on public parking and their rules. No flat rate for the stay you get in and out multiple times a day, you pay potentially twice the day rate.

We have stayed at this hotel before. Only real criticism was the lack of hot water. When you stay in a hotel you expect to be able to have a shower which we were unable to do. At check out it seemed that there was problem but no offer of reduction in cost or money off the next stay so was a bit disappointed.

Der Hype ist vorbei

Das Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen. Teppich vor der Eingangstür ist hinüber, dies zieht sich durch das ganze Hotel. So war auch zB der Duschablauf sanierungsbedürftig.Auch der Spabereich hat die besten Zeiten hinter sich. Wobei der Pool wirklich klasse ist.
Servicegedanke bei den meisten Mitarbeitern ist mäßig, wohingegen der Service im Restaurant Ludwigs sehr gut ist.
Frühstück chaotisch, keine Tasse, Milch leer und so weiter.

Overrated hotel with Room for Improvement

I recently stayed at Kameha Grand Bonn and found the experience to be underwhelming. Upon check-in, we were assigned a room that felt more like a bachelor pad than a relaxing, comfortable space. While the hotel staff was accommodating in allowing us to switch rooms to a smaller suit with a view of the Rhime, this came with an extra charge, which felt a bit disappointing given the circumstances.Overall, the hotel itself is just okay. While it has a reputation for being upscale, I found the customer service to be quite basic and the overall experience didn’t quite live up to the hype. For the price, I expected more attention to detail and better service.

Second time we stayed at Kameha Grant because we liked the fantastic design all over, and found it very conveniently situated at the banks of the river Rhine for lovely walks and several great dining options…
but this time we couldn’t get the air condition working properly with hot outside temperatures of over 30 degrees and when told next day at reception the explanation wasn’t satisfactory et al…
We also had problems with the internet .. and also couldn’t get help,
So we were disappointed enough.

No AC and sweltering

Three of us arrived on a hot August day. I checked in in the warm lobby and went up to my room, which was swelteringly hot (~30C/85F) and humid. I waited for the room to start to cool, and after 45 minutes headed down to the front desk. There the kind attendant explained to me that the hotel doesn’t have AC, it has a geothermal cooling system that doesn’t work well in hot weather.

He offered that I could open a window (was actually hotter outside) or he could send a “cooler” to the room (which he described as having ice and fan). When I expressed skepticism regarding these options he moved me to a room that was street side and not directly sun exposed. This was a few degrees cooler, but still sweltering.

We went to dinner, and I discovered my companions were experiencing the same issue. When we returned our rooms were still sweltering so we checked out and went to a different hotel.

Unfortunately it was non-refundable at that point so the entire reservation was a sunk cost.

Possible the hotel is competent when not hit outside. But I considered it completely uninhabitable on a hot day outside.

During our recent stay in Bonn, the Kameha was highly recommended. My partner actually worked here within the first few years of when it opened, and spoke highly of the level of service and attention to detail that the staff at that time was trained up to. Unfortunately, we were both very disappointed in our experience; check-in was difficult to find and took a lot longer than expected (especially considering that the lobby area wasn't busy at all when we arrived), once in our room we checked up on the mini-bar for a quick refreshment, only to find a half-eaten, moldy container of liverwurst spread from the previous guest in that room (which had to have been quite some time ago). The bottle of sparkling wine that was supposed to have come with our reservation was nowhere to be found, nor was the partial park / river view that was listed in the details of our reservation - we were instead squarely faced with the abandoned parking lot and construction site across the street. We briefly inquired about the amenities listed above, and were firmly told that they weren't a part of the reservation that we had made. Seeing that it was already late in the day and we had social obligations to attend to, we didn't press the issue. On our way out, we asked the bartender about coffee options (were takeaway or milk alternatives available?), to which he gave us a scoff and dismissive \"no\". Spa & pool were great, but overall an underwhelming experience that we felt you should know of.

Das Zimmer hat mir gut gefallen. Es ist großzügig eingerichtet und es fehlt an nichts.
Die Qualität des Frühstücks war gut, reichlich und frisch. Allerdings fühlte man sich durch die Menschenschaaren wie in einer Bahnhofshalle. Das Restaurant in dem das Frühstück serviert wird ist ganz in Ordnung, aber die orientierungslos umherirrenden Menschenschaaren machen es ungemütlich. Vielleicht sollte man die Organisation überdenken.

The Kameha is nicely located at the Rhein river. You can take nice walks on the river. Not much else happening in the area, 5 km to downtown Bonn. I had 2 stays with Expedia, aside problems with the new hotel reservation system an overall good experience until I attempted to cancel another reservation I had made in person. When calling in 48h before the reservation, I was told that could only be done in writing, not per phone! When sending the e-mail for cancellation, I was told the reservation was done with Expedia and could be cancelled through Expedia. It was not, I had done it in person at the reservation counter. Maybe their new system is to be blamed again, but I am very disappointed by the service and will never stay in this hotel again.

Very unique property. Really cool infinity pool and catwalk over the event space. Junior Suite was great, regular room less great--stayed in both as we arrived a day early. A little disappointed the hotel wouldn't honour the price we paid for the 4 day stay in a Junior Suite when we added a day due to the Farmer-road-blockades. That was poorly handled--a little too by-the-book and lacking compassion on that one. Might stay again--would have been a definite would stay again had their customer service instincts been a little more on point.

Well-equipped hotel with some challenges

On the whole I am quite happy about my stay. The hotel is clean and well-equipped. However, operating the lights in the room requires a manual that's not there. I never figured out how to turn on or off some lights. I prefer to sleep with cool temperature and a warm blanket. However, the provided blanket is quite thin. So I ended up wearing mu down sweater when I went to bed.

Hip hotel. Large rooms. And great for staying w partner (romantic). Bathrooms are quite revealing (good when with wife. Not your Mom.). Overall clean. Felt window coverings didn’t shut out enough light (bring an eye patch). Comfortable. Hip. Slightly away from Bonn downtown (other side of river) - fine if you have own transportation. VIP benefit was awesome ! Enjoyed our stay.

Horrible experience

Upon arrival, we found no bell attendant on duty in the hotel’s entrance that our driver had to unload our luggage from the vehicle.When we got to our room, we were disgustingly stunned by the poor housekeeping standard.We also had to request every time for a hair conditioner as it was not available in the bathroom. The shower hand mixer was constantly being detached and falling out to the floor. In a few days we were out with electricity which took two hours to be fixed. At that same night, all the lights were turned on that we could not turn them off and unluckily no maintenance was on-duty at night to fix the lights. We had a long argument with the manager to explain that we would not be able to sleep in such condition but they just kept on explaining to us that no maintenance can fix it. We requested to be transferred to another room but we were told that they were fully booked. Then we requested early check-out and a refund which then they offered to us Room 176, however the bathroom there is not clean and seems being used by somebody else. Having no option from them, we were forced to accept this and patiently waited for the situation to be resolved until the next day. We booked and paid for the biggest suite in the hotel but we would only have to sleep in a very unsanitary and skimpy room, very frustrating indeed. We hoped to get our frustrations resolved by the African manager on-duty but he was so rude and disrespectful to us.

Amazing Hotel!!

Amazing hotel, so clean the rooms where huge, beds where comfy. The spa functions are free which if you stay at the hotel you must try out. The pool overlooking the Rhine on a sunny evening is heaven. My only downside is I wish they would have some lights behind the hotel towards the Rhine (there is seating but it's too dark on an evening to sit there)

Das Hotel ist tatsächlich \"Grand\", alles ist sehr einladend und groß. Der Pool ist leider zu klein geraten, sobald hier sechs Personen schwimmen kommt man sich in den Weg, der Ausblick ist jedoch phänomenal. Das Personal, vor allem an der Rezeption, ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Größtes Manko: die Zimmer waren viel zu warm.

weird hotel ...a long way from shops etc

Well the hotel was isolated and was a good car journey to the nearest shops etc....the hotel did not even have a cash machine in the lobby. And probably the only 4 star hotel I have ever been in anywhere in the world where there were no lobby phones to call up to the rooms.... there was no big friendly reception desk...forget that ..uncool..better to have small pod -like stands with staff on mobile phones!!!..To call the hotel weird is an understatement....it was all design design design...not user friendly at all......working the lights in the room difficult.......which were all glass and sharp dangerous edges especially in the bath...was weird!.....Whoever designed this hotel was not interested in comfort ...and making it easier on the guests.

I stayed there for about a week for work. The location was just beautiful along the Rhine River. Yes the hotel has a garish dark Lobby and weird hallways that are bright red, but that aside everything about this hotel is just wonderful. I travel a lot and the staff here were amazingly efficient, kind and helpful. The room was great modern and the bed was awesome. You can get downtown easily but you can experience the river and the small but lovely part of town behind the hotel. Maamybrooms have views and the windows open!!! That's a really good thing. The food is also great and there are a couple of riverside restaurants near by. Public transportation is also easy. Really great place

Amazing hotel, staff doesn't seem super motivate

There was one many with a topknot that was incredibly helpful with questions I had about the area. The rest of the crew were not super knowledgeable with the local surroundings. This is important because the hotel is not near downtown Bonn (about a 15 min bus ride on the 606 bus route. You can take this to Bonn central station, and grab the train to Cologne/Koln should you need). To be clear, the other staff weren't unfriendly, they just seemed to be new to the area.

Lovely hotel with an amazing infinity pool over River Rhine.
The rooms were absolutely spotless and chic. Staff were decent and very helpful.
The hotel decor is stunning and has good music in the evening too.

Good hotel - bad location

The hotel is beautiful but the interior overall feels a bit kitschy. Reception staff is really friendly and courteous. I had a junior suite but did not really get that impression, perhaps because of the not so great layout. The interior is up to date with a small Bluetooth stereo and great lighting in the room. The moonlight over the bed is romantic... The switches for the lights, windows and sunblinds etc are a joke though. You need a few days to know which buttons to touch. The view from the room is horrendous: industrial / construction. The hotel feels more like a good 4 star. Service in the bar is friendly and the staff surely tries but I doubt if they've had any professional training. The food we had was good and plenty (especially for a 5 star) but the Caesar salad is a joke. Its basically green leaves drowning in salad dressing with some chicken on the side. Perhaps the kitchen should google the recipe once.
Is it worth staying here? Prices during the week are rather high, so only good if you're on business. Weekend rates are great so I would definitely say yes.

The bed was incredibly comfortable and room service was prompt and friendly.

However, It was very unfortunate that there didn't seem to be an place on the hotel patio/outdoor area to drink. There was a wedding or party reception on most the evenings I was there and it was closed to us (we asked the bar staff outside and they said it was closed to any not party reception). Is there an alternative place to sit for people staying in the hotel? If there is not then this is not very good at all.

Everything was nice, however we don't like interior design : too much of red and too much drawings of flower patterns. It is vey big, modern hotel, with plenty of glass. Staff in the restaurant was very pleasant, they served us with wonderful crème Brule right before closing!
We could not find breakfast place nearby. Parking is not free. Location is good if you want to walk along the Rhine.

A perfect weekend in Kameha , Life is grand

Spend a long weekend. Fridays to monday there. Great hotel. Dedicated and friendly staff. Location and hotel both awesome. Participated in Fridays mediterrane buffet which was great. Breakfast and dinner on Saturday great. Sunday we had the champagne brunch in stead of Breakfast. Brunch was Perfect.
In total a perfect stay where we wil return 4 sure.

Thai themed modern hotel - stayed for work

Stayed here for one night for work. I have stayed in many hotels but none quite like this - it is Thai themed with interior which is probably not to everyone's taste! Long bright red corridors etc. It is quirky however and exceptionally modern. Would use again.

Nice hotel & location - shame about the noise.

Beware staying here on a weekend. On the Saturday night they had a party which blasted on at top volume until 4am. It was like trying to sleep in the middle of a nightclub. I was offered no alternative options when I complained and was told that parties often went on until 5/6am in the morning. Got a written apology the next day but that didn't compensate for a missed night's sleep. My advice is to check with the hotel before you book and avoid if there is an event on (unless you are deaf or a deep sleeper). Pity because it is a nice hotel in a lovely location by the Rhine otherwise.

Top hotel in a wonderful setting

Overall a wonderful stay and a delicious breakfast but sadly spoilt by a mix up with borrowing 2 smart electrical bycles. We asked at reception where we could hire bikes to be told the hotel had 2 electric bikes we could have for free. Having signed the paperwork and getting my passport copied for insurance purposes we went back to the room to change into suitable clothing. 20 minutes later we went down to reception only to find they had given the bikes to someone else! We were told there were 2 keys and that reception hadn't informed door staff that they had already been signed for. We were told that the people who had them would only be 30 minutes so decided to wait. Unfortunately that wasn't the case and it was a 90 minute wait. A simple mistake to make but it did spoil things slightly as we wanted to make the most of our one day and two night stay. Having the bikes for free was a bonus and they are great fun.

The hotel is very average - it lacks atmosphere, sophistication and the finishing touches that one owudl expect for the price you pay. Breakfast wasn't included, but I didn't see what I was paying for if it was't included. The decor didn't work.

For quick business trip, hotel met expectations

Was recommended hotel by client for location and ease, which the hotel was practical for but that was about it. It met my expectations and nothing beyond that. It seemed almost too modern, that it was trying hard to be glamorous but it didn't really pull it off.

Reception was friendly and efficient; good breakfast, with a wide variety, very business oriented hotel. I liked the design and excellent use of space of the room, good ventilation system, I had a nice view to the courtyard, which was pleasant and quiet. would certainly stay there again and would recommend it to anyone staying for short or longer periods.

Great restaurant

Fantastic Japanese restaurant on a terrace overlooking the Rhein. A bit expensive (well very expensive), but the 6 course (which ended up being 9 courses) tasting menu was the best meal we have ever had. Also very close to Telekom Deutschland - good for our meeting.

Sexy, Modern, A little out of the way

Ultra-modern design on the outside and a little Austin Powers-esque neo-1960's in the hallways and room carpets. Good breakfast, nice staff, nice pool/spa/sauna area right on the river. Breakfast is a little pricey (32 Euro) if not included in the room rate so watch out for that, but there are more reasonable a la carte choices.

12 euros into town with no traffic and 20 with traffic in a cab. 45 to the airport, so not totally central for Bonn but probably worth it for the isolation and tranquility along the river.

A couple of notes for the modest: glass between the bedroom and bathroom means your room-mate will be able to watch you in the shower and you're not allowed to wear a bathing suit into the sauna.

No TV Hotel

When I arrived in the room the TV did not work. A repairman tried to repair it, succeeded, but the next two days TV set did not work. No atempt was made to change the TV set or move me to another room with working TV set.

Avoid at any cost. Will complain to Expedia

5***** all the way!

We stayed for one night and enjoyed a sushi dinner and a great buffet for breakfast in the morning. The spa with infinity pool, sauna and steam room is very nice. Definitely not for those on a budget! But the modern black, white and red decor and smart detailing make this stay one to remember.

Hotel great, position just off motorway superb. SatNav not up to date with new road to the hotel.
Car park secure.
Fabulous design of interior of hotel.
Booked a deluxe room first stay - had a view of a mud pit! We found the over the top electrics in the room irritating. The loo light didn't work, the blinds take awhile to react when you press to close, so you press again and then they close & stop!
Very comfortable beds and seating area. Loved the \"moon light\" above the bed. Great to pop iPod into music system. Strange that there was no shampoo or hair conditioner supplied either time we stayed.
Billed for ice to be delivered to the room - thought that was a little penny pinching.
Returned following week and requested a view of the river which was lovely.
The Staff are fantastic, they were all so friendly and helpful. They kindly filled up our coffee flasks for the 5 hr drive ahead & didn't charge us .
The above were small trivial things that could be fixed - we loved the place and will return.

the hotel is a bit out of the way but is very good in all areas. the design is very contemporary, the staff are well trained and very pleasant, is probably the best hotel i have stayed in throughout Germany.
I will certainly use it again.
