Overall hotel ok but I’d question the 5 star status. Food and waiting staff good. Reception and Concierge service could be more helpful and less dismissive. It should clearly state when booking that the beach area is out of bounds at this time of year due to the natural seaweed infestation. This is not the hotels fault but you should be made aware. Rooms nice but could do with a regular mosquito treatment spray. The on site shop is insulting for all goods. I understand that prices would be slightly more but it’s actually ridiculous.. for example a can of bug spray is 30 dollars for one! Store down the road is 4 dollars. The bar showing the football, quite often we had to go find someone to serve us or walk across to the other bar for service. Thanks but I wouldn’t rush back to this Hotel. 3.5 star at best …

I'll be honest, I had HIGH hopes to really enjoy my stay, but I'll admit, it didn't meet my expectations. Although the resort is HUGE and nice, it just didn't do it for me and my husband. The trip was vaguely boring. The \"party\" pool was no party. I was disappointed to learn they only do the foam party on Saturdays. So what about the people who can only visit during the week?! The pool bar closed two hours before the pool closes, and the party pool is open during the hottest part of the day. The food was ok, and the mixed drinks were alright! They did serve top shelf liquor. Now that's a PLUS! Our room was very nice, a little outdated (the sofa, cabinets near the tv). The swimout pool made it AWESOME although the mosquitos refused to leave our room. That was irritating. OMG... The outside smelled HORRIBLE due to whatever the brown stuff washing up on shore is from the ocean (now that was beyond the resorts control). The beach is off limits. The staff were friendly. We never used the room service option. We did meet some nice people at the resort. The club was quiet and we didn't attend any of the shows. The occupancy appeared to be very low, so that could've played a part in the lack of fun and entertainment. Nothing grabbed my attention at the resort like the swimout room. Overall, it is a nice place to get away from the norm for relaxation purposes ONLY, but if you are looking for somewhere to have fun and an amazing time... I hate to say this... Keep searching!

The staff went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible, and that is the only reason why our stay was positive. I will start off by saying that this was our second time visiting the resort, first time staying at the Jr suites was excellent, this time around at the Platinum rooms, it fell short in almost every department. The room was VERY humid our 6 days even with the AC on the lowest setting. You can visibly see mold specs growing on a lot of the fabric in the room. The biggest letdown was the HORRIBLE smell coming from the beach, which we were unable to enjoy due to the excess sargassum, we understood mother nature is not something that the resort can control, but not once were we notified of this issue beforehand, which was very frustrating as that was the main reason for booking this specific resort due to the easy access to the beach. We did some more exploring on the other resorts, and even though we were in the adults only side, it didn’t have the exclusive feel to it, we were surprised to see how much nicer the rooms were, and the overall resort on the family side. Overall our stay lacked the advertised luxury, and amenities, and being our second stay and not being able to enjoy the beach both stays was also a big let down. I will praise the staff, as they were super attentive, very professional, and overall the biggest asset to the resort as they were the only reason our stay was tolerable.

We absolutely loved the kindness of every staff member, they were always willing to help with a smile on their face. The gastronomy was varied, contrary to what some people said on reviews they had a wide variety of food and it was different every day. The restaurants à la carte had a nice selection of meals, the bars were easily accessible and the pools were very clean. We heard a ton of people complaining about how the beach was inaccessible because of the sargassum but that is not the hotel’s fault as they cannot control the weather. Regardless of that, there are plenty of activities within the resort to occupy your time. We will definitely be staying here again.

El hotel está dentro de un complejo de hoteles y tiene muchas ventajas y opciones que merecen 5 estrellas, sin embargo en nuestra estadía hubo algo que hizo difícil el disfrutar plenamente: en Playa del Carmen desde mayo a octubre es temporada de \"sargazo\"que son unas algas que por esta epoca del año se acumulan en la playa en cantidades alarmantes, según pudimos averiguar en varios lugares y con diferentes personas incluso con agentes de policia, se nos dijo que era responsabilidad y obligación de los hoteles limpiar el sargazo porque el olor es horrible y emana gases que son tóxicos y afectan tanto la salud como la piel. En el hotel fue posible usar las instalaciones, tolerando el olor horrible que por momentos y gracias al viento mejoraba, pero en la playa y en las comodidades cerca de la playa era imposible disfrutar por el olor; la playa no se veía y era imposible caminar por allí. A pesar de tener señalización para no entrar al mar, no había nada que alertara de que no se debía estar en las sillas y mesas allí dispuestas para prevenir enfermedades al respirar constantemente ese olor terrible. Esta es la razón por la que nuestra calificación sería máximo 3 estrellas.

We stayed at Platinum Yucatán Princess for 5 days and had an amazing experience from start to finish. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the amenities throughout the resort were excellent.

One thing we really appreciated was the variety of food options available each day. There was always something different to try and the 24/7 room service was a huge bonus. We requested housekeeping to make up our room once during our stay and they did such an outstanding job that it felt like the room had never even been touched before we arrived.

There were plenty of activities by the pool every day along with nightly entertainment so there was always something fun to do. We also treated ourselves to a couples spa experience which was incredibly relaxing and well worth it.

A special thank you to Elizabeth for making our check-in process smooth and enjoyable. If you're lucky enough to have her assist you, you'll be off to the best possible start to your vacation. The bellboys were also extremely helpful and attentive throughout our stay. We'd also like to recognize the servers at the Yucatán Buffet breakfast who consistently provided excellent service every time we come to eat.

The resort felt very safe with great security throughout the property which allowed us to fully relax and enjoy our vacation. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay at Platinum Yucatán Princess and would not hesitate to return. We hope to come back again in the future!

Very disappointing experience. The room was dirty and not properly maintained. What made the stay even worse was that the beach was full of algae, making it unpleasant and difficult to use. The hotel should clearly inform guests about this before they book. We chose this resort expecting to enjoy the beach, but we ended up not being able to use it at all. Unfortunately, our vacation was ruined, and we left very disappointed.

We had a wonderful stay at Platinum Yucatán! The resort was beautiful, with access to the sister resorts, great food, plenty of pools, and a relaxed atmosphere that never felt crowded. My friends and I had an amazing time, but what truly made our trip special was the incredible staff.

All of the servers were friendly and welcoming, but Benedicto and Bryan stood out. Bryan always greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel welcome, even when we weren't seated in his section. Benedicto served us for two nights and was attentive, accommodating, and genuinely kind. He always made sure we were happy with our meals and experience.

During our week-long stay, we also became friends with our bartender, Jacinto. He kept the drinks coming, made us laugh, and brought such great energy every day. He was truly a highlight of our trip.

We would also like to give a special shout-out to the bellboys, Misael, Amaury, and Javier. Everyone at the front was wonderful, but these three went above and beyond. Misael and Javier drove us around the resort with positive attitudes and plenty of funny stories. They also made getting to and from our room and the sports park easy and convenient. Amaury ensured we were well taken care of and even arranged our luggage pickup and wake-up call after learning we had an early departure.

All staff, especially the ones mentioned above, truly helped make our stay even more memorable!

We loved that we can cross over the other Princess Resorts and enjoyed the food served there. This is our second time visiting the Princess Resorts. Our first was in 2024 at Platinum Grand Riviera Princess. They’ve done impressive improvements to their Buffet Restaurants with the new theme Food Market! Love the ambiance! ❤️ The Ice Cream Shop is a plus! So good for a quick cold snack. We will definitely come back! 💕

I had a very negative experience during my stay on June 1st 2026 at the Riviera Maya Princess.

A gold chain and approximately 60 USD in cash that I had stored inside my room, specifically in my travel bag, were stolen after my room had been serviced/cleaned. These items disappeared from what should be a secure and private space.

I immediately reported the incident. An internal investigation was conducted, but the conclusion was simply that nothing was found, with no resolution, accountability, or clear explanation provided. Even after speaking with management, I was advised to contact the Mexican police on my own, with no further support from the hotel. (Which I did btw)

This experience left me feeling frustrated, unprotected, and without any real assistance. I understand that unexpected situations can happen, but there was a clear lack of responsibility and proper handling of a serious issue involving guest belongings.

I am writing this as a warning to future guests: be extremely cautious with valuables during your stay, as the handling of security concerns was, in my experience, highly unsatisfactory.

I did not feel safe for the rest of my stay, and I cannot recommend this property based on my experience.

We stayed at Platinum Yucatan Princess to celebrate my 30th birthday and had an incredible experience. The resort is beautiful, with lush grounds, lovely pools, and access to the larger pool at the connected Princess resort. The adults-only bars served excellent cocktails and tequila, and we especially loved the passionfruit margaritas. Upgrading to a room with a balcony hot tub was absolutely worth it.
Thank you to Mario for arranging transportation with MTS and Ana for a smooth check-in.
The staff were exceptional throughout our stay. Sara at Bar Plaza kept us laughing and served great drinks during the Fire Show. The entertainment was outstanding every night, especially the Fire Show and Mexican Show. We also loved the trivia, pool activities, Mariachi, Rock Band, dancers, and the entire entertainment team. Special thanks to Malu for her warmth, humour, and personal touch, and to Luna for her fun dance lessons and private archery lesson for my fiancé.
The food was fantastic, especially at Buffet Yucatan. As a vegetarian, I enjoyed many vegan options. My fiancé is vegetarian, lactose intolerant, and gluten free, and the buffet staff and chefs went above and beyond to accommodate him with a separate menu and plenty of safe choices. Bryan provided exceptional service, while Citlaly, Karen, and Bereniece always made us feel welcome.
The spa was wonderful as well. Esmeralda helped arrange my treatments, and Bulmaro provided a relaxing facial and chocolate body exfoliation. Thx!

My stay at the Platinum Yucatan Princess was excellent from start to finish. The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, making it easy to relax throughout the trip.

The staff were outstanding. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and genuinely focused on making our stay enjoyable. The drinks were some of the best I've had at an all-inclusive resort, and the food was consistently delicious with plenty of variety.

Unfortunately my room (Premium Swim up) near the reception and restaurants is right by the ocean and at this time of year the seaweed is absolutely out of control and the smell from the beach made me physically sick. The stench is similar to rotting eggs.

The hotel were very understanding and offered to move me to another part of the building further away from the reception. Just a reminder that this is out of the control of the resort but be mindful when booking to make sure you are not near the reception.

The hotel is well maintained and overall if not for the stench of seaweed would have been a lovely weekend away.

The room service was slow and the food delivered was average. Drinks were good. I would recommend dinner at the Italian restaurant as the food was really nice.

The resort’s solution to our smelly room was a toilet bowl freshener in the vent. Now our room smelled like a dirty bathroom. The entire staff at the resort were rude and unhelpful. A true disappointment! We were unable to get a refund or any sort of compensation.

The resort is nice; the grounds are well-maintained, and the room is decent—clean and tidied up thoroughly every day. The pillows, however, are terribly hard. The buffet is adequate; you can certainly find something to eat. I also visited the buffets at the Princess Riviera, and I really enjoyed the food there. The beach is, frankly, terrible—even without the sargassum, there are rocks everywhere—though it does have a certain unique character. The beach at the Riviera was slightly better, though there were still rocks there as well. The theater was excellent; the shows were interesting and vibrant—that is, perhaps, the very best feature of the resort. The alcohol is cheap and virtually undrinkable. Overall, it is a peaceful and cozy resort, and I felt safe during my stay.

Staff for the most part was really nice where the front desk acted as if we were annoying them. Food was subpar especially at the Grill expected a lot more from that restaurant. Tried to go to the beach a few times and even went over to the sister hotel and the seaweed was just too much. My biggest turn off was the fact that a roach was found in the room and it remained dead on the floor in plain view our entire stay. The resort was definitely lacking in some aspects as compared to other resorts that I have stayed at in Mexico.

Overall the stay was good. The property is a little dated but ok for us. The entertainment setup was good nightly with multiple shows. The staff was friendly and helpful. One oddity is If you need more water, beer, pop in the room before the next day, they charge you. Luckily the bellhop told us when he walked us to the room so we didn’t get surprised. The room service wasn’t convenient and the menu was not great.

We stayed at this property about six years ago and it was lovely. It has declined since that time. The service at the buffet is extremely poor. Good luck getting a refill on some water or coffee. The buffet food is average. While the hotel advertises that it has four restaurants, during our stay, only two were open each night. One of them was terrible and the others were average. The service in the restaurant is better than the service in the buffet. The bartenders at the pole bar in the quiet pool were excellent and did a great job and the drinks were delicious. The overall maintenance of the property is very poor. There are many broken loungers at the pool, and they do not clean the chairs and tables each night after the pool closes. Further, there are several areas where there should be reflecting pools, but they are empty, so instead of beautiful surroundings, it looks terrible with plumbing exposed. Also when we were visiting (early May) the beach is unusable due to seaweed in both the water and the beach, which also results in a terrible smell.

The resort was amazing! Me and My Wife had a good time. The swim out pool was our favorite thing about our stay and the room service. Only issue is that our bath tub was a little dirty/rusty so we weren’t able to use it. The food was a 7/10, and the service from the waiters and waitresses was a 10/10. Weather our entire stay was PERFECT! Definitely have to put on sunscreen, the pool water feels like bath water. The Swim up bar was another highlight at the resort that we really enjoyed. Overall, this vacation was well worth it and each day got better and better. Can’t wait to come back!

We are a hispanic couple and we noticed that some of the staff wasnt as nice as they were with the americans there. At Aroma restaurant my husband asked for a beer 3 times, never got it. We ended leaving that restaurant and going to another place, reservation for one of their restaurants we were unable as well, we were surprised that another couple that were white Americans and were on line behind us they were able to get in, they told us later at the dancing bar. They asked us how come you guys didnt get a table when they did. Besides that, not everyone was like that, there were also a lot of friendly and attentive staff that were incredible, but issues like the ones i mentioned did make me think if i would recommend it.

Upon arriving the place seemed okay and clean. After unpacking we started noticing different things that were just not ignorable. Food quality 3 out of 10. Property was 3 out of 10. Outdated and our room jacuzzi didnt hold water and also leaked from supply lines. Never got to use and I even called to get serviced. Staff was not really helpful at all amd couldnt explain excursions fully and properly.

Hotel is very nice, lots of pools and very good food. Staff is also very nice. Only thing to note some of the chairs by the pool had bird poo and coatis poo on the ground, it can’t be helped but hotel does provide beach towels and gets replaced everyday. The mini fridge and towels also get replaced & replenished daily. The beach is also really nice but we went during sargassum season, so if you want to enjoy the beach I suggest going when they’re not in season.

Good experience.Lobby has AC and staff is friendly. Had great experience to check in. The room is within 10 min of walk from lobby. Room is clean and furniture was in a good shape. AC is in good condition but a bit noisy. I had swim out that was a plus but the plastic lounger chairs were not comfortable. Luckily, the comfortable lounger chair across the swimming pool, not too far. Main swimming pool looked a bit dirty but luckily, I was in the furtherst corner room and my swimming pool did not connect to the main pool. The restaurants and buffet were 10 min walk but acssesable to get chair every evening and no limit on visits. 2 restaurants were closed every second night. Food was the best so far I ever had in all inclusive resorts. Coctail options a bit disappointing and simple, however they have mobile coctail bar where Miguel Luna makes the best mojito. Resort is connected to sister resorts and I would recommend to go to sunset resort for better coctail variety. Beach was underwhelming. Tiny and had a smell. Again, as a resort is connected to sister resorts, it is better to go to the sunset or the grand Rivera beach. Benefit is adult only and food. The rest would say is everage experience.

Decent food options for all restaurants! The shuttle to the main gate leave every 15mins so you must time accordingly as they don’t make any exceptions. Javi at the concierge deck was the best honestly. Not a resort for young people as there wasn’t much to do

THIS HOTEL IS IN A COMPOUND SO GETTING TO THE MAIN ROAD IS A WALK AS THERE IS NO TRANSPORTATION

This trip was absolutely worth the price. The entertainment was great, and the food was genuinely amazing. I’ve stayed at other all‑inclusive resorts before, and they usually serve the same buffet food in their restaurants, just plated differently — but that’s not the case here. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and truly delicious.

The staff was incredible, and Jovita quickly became our favorite bartender/server.

A couple things to keep in mind:
• Don’t feed the wildlife — they’ll keep coming back.
• The drinks are strong, so pace yourself.

The only thing I wish I would have done differently is pay for a swim‑out room. It would’ve made an already amazing trip even better.

Overall, we had an incredible time. There’s plenty to do and see if you want to venture out, or you can just relax and enjoy the hotel. Highly recommend.

The Beach was almost non existent, errosion has taken the sand away. The daily dump of sargassus left a hum.
Staff were great, especially Jose the pool cleaner in front of building 1 swimouts. He workes hard to keep pool clean, please tip.these people they deserge extra money.
The restaurants served top notch food. You get a real steak at the Rodeo. Duck Confi was mouthwatering. Beer and spirits were good.
We would return if only for the beach, (we prefer beach to pools).

Ignore the bad reviews, this resort was great! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. So much wildlife, like iguanas j chillin on sidewalks as your walk around, very cool to see!
The adults only pool was small, not a lot of chairs. The family side however had a ton of chairs and a lot more pools. Yolanda on the family side was our favorite waitress!
The rooms are typical Caribbean rooms. We personally did not have a musty smell like others claimed. Might’ve been my shampoo but it smelt like my shampoo every single day. Wish the room temp got a bit cooler or there was a fan but by the end of the night I didn’t really care!
Lastly, the buffet was great! Smaller than other resorts I’ve been to but still lots of options. There’s also a waiter there who makes a bunch of animal noises - a cat screeching specifically. Caught me off guard at first but we truly enjoyed it! Very friendly, very attentive, great memory and remembered folks!

The outside looks good but lots of stuff broken and stained in rooms. Slow draining sinks, showers, etc. Hotel probably used to be very nice, but they havent invested the money to keep it up and fix/update things. Its very calm though so nice place to relax. You just have to overlook things.

Not a lot of food choices as 2 restaurants appear to be closed for renovations. The food is good though.

Staff is great, pools are well maintained and huge.

This is not a Beach Resort. Lots of Seaweed and Rocky.

Loved all the food (room service, restaurants, buffet) and cocktails, great service, beautiful beach location, more party vibes at the main pool and a more chill atmosphere at the other one, lots of wildlife around, many opportunities for activities, and such a big beautiful room with a comfy bed. Didn’t love the lack of lounge spots at the main pool, no welcome drink (as advertised), and the AC could’ve been colder in rooms and in main areas.
