We had a relaxing stay at this hotel with friendly customer service. Our room (819) was large, although it was right next to the elevator so it was sometimes noisy. The breakfast buffet was delicious, which inlcuded hot meals, eggs made to order, cereals, fruits and purified water. We didn't get to try out the rooftop pool though.
A downside was that the shower was leaky and the rooms a bit dated and needing a refresh. Also our balcony door could not be opened. Overall I would recommend this hotel for families.

Great location. Breakfast was good with lots of variety. Staff were helpful, friendly and spoke good English when we had questions. We didn’t like the shower! The hand held shower head was really annoying. The facilities were great - the location of the pool and hot tub in the middle of the bar area may not suit everyone.

Fabulous central location within walking distance of all main sights. Friendly helpful staff. Breakfast was amazing buffet style starting from 6am so great if you had trips planned with an early start. Rooftop pool was excellent, great cool off at night time and amazing views. Rooms were large, but a little more tired than the pictures online, but clean and comfortable. Would recommend.

The pool area was a great reprieve from the heat and staff were very friendly and accommodating. The facilities leave a lot to be desired though from the super sketchy electrical outlets and intermittently working blow dryer to the tub/shower that wasn’t really attached to the wall and the shower curtain that didn’t remotely cover it. Pretty rinky dink!

When I check in on 28th, they refused to allow my local girlfriend to check in with me.
I was charged U$ 30 to register her name. They want to charge for 3 nights, but I paid for 1 night and then sneak in on 2nd and 3rd night. This is out of my expectation. They say it is Vietnam regulation and it was stated in website. I think Hotel.com better state this warning clearly. I will not stay this hotel anymore.

Great service and location

The stay overall for the price was good. The first room we struggled to sleep with a random noise frequently- we were right next to a lift so thought this might be the cause. However when we asked to change rooms they immediately gave us a new room but also one with a window which was better than the first room. The staff were always happy to help and we had great service. Location was brilliant and a few minutes walk to the ben thanh market and street food market.

Great service and friendliness.

Fantastic hotel. I have stayed here 6 times already and the staff are super nice and always smiling. The staff are also here for a longer time, which makes it very nice to come as a regular guest. Diamond remembers your preferences and prepares the drink or food or whatever you want as you prefer.

At my last visit i had 30 friends stay at this hotel with me and all enjoyed their stay.

There are better choice than this hotel. The room looks like it has been there for 10 years. Old furniture. Exposed Wire at the balcony. Toilet door is faulty. Very bad lighting in the room. Rooftop bar will rip you off so better don't buy anything from them.

Lovely hotel with large rooms and a great staff willing to help out at any time. An amazing breakfast as well and the rooftop was a cool place to hang out. The only tricky part was the bathroom with a shower that didn’t quite make sense with water literally splashing everywhere.

Beware of downgrade

I booked the Premium double room but the Delux room was given which is in lower category than the Premium one. When I complained about it, the people at the front desk told me that both rooms are Premier Delux Room which is in the same category. But in the Orbitz website, there's no that kind of category but there are two different kinds of room that you can see the difference of the size and price. I really don't understand why they insist they are same room when anybody can feel and see the downgrade clearly! My husband and I have been regular customers here and had a good relationship with the people here but this case really disappointed.

Description on the room we booked is highly misleading . It said “Pool Access Suite” . In fact it’s a room (not even a suite) whereby the guest is allowed to use the pool . Pool Access Room normally would mean room is on the same floor as the pool .

Hotel's room furniture makes us felt uncomfortable

Room 719 furniture color was dark and room's narrow. I felt there was some other 'guests' inside this room that makes me felt uneasy and cannot sleep whole night for 2 nights.

Front desk reception guy name 'LONG' was not friendly at all and very rude.

This is a good hotel with good breakfast. The staff are excellent. The room is good but I didn't have a window. That is ok but just be careful when booking make sure you have a window and you have the correct bedding arrangements. Wanted a double but got two singles. The staff put them together for us, no problem.

shower curtain is too small, so water splashes onto floor when taking shower. No caulking around the tub, so there's space between tub and wall, water tend to go down there as well .... In addition, on the first night, quite a few ants came up from there. -- Water pressure in the tub/shower is fine, but water in the wash basin barely trickles.... and there's no hot water in the wash basin.

The Superior Room is trerible

The Superior room is terrible. They join the two twin bed become a full bed which is a bad combination. These caused the middle of the bed so hard. This is bad.

I need to upgrade for paying extra to get a better room.

This hotel got the worse bell boy in town

The bell boy thinks he owns the entire hotel by behaving like a gangster. They keep your bike that is not park within the compond of the hotel, without your permission, and when you ask them where's your bike, they refuse to tell you and only push the bike out the next day. Isn't this consider stealing?

O.k.for the budget but...

I came from a less than \"western standard\" hotel, so was willing to put up w the false advertising \"upscale.\" Inexpensive, w a massageparlor and full free breakfast. However, the room reeked of mildew, what \"memory foam?\", a window, to no view!, took a bath, is that how I got a UTI?, (hot water though!) had a wonderful massage-last thing the therapist does is destroy the massage w aggressive chiropractic move! Was in pain for a week after and too afraid to return. Next door partying made for awful sleep. Final day I had to catch a 2:30 a.m. Taxi to airport and my Wake up call never came! Lucky i awoke w ten minutes to pack and go w no coffee! Don't take the cheaper rooms here, you'll be treated accordingly.

Convenient and Value for money hotel

Right smack in the middle of the shopping area. Plenty of eateries and cafes and 5 min walk to the night market. Ther are many tour companies near the hotels where you can book a local tour. The front counter staff were helpful and courteous. The family room that we stayed in was spacious (45 sq m) and quiet. Good value for money.

Another nice Alagon Hotel

I've now stayed at 3 different Alagon chain of hotels in HCM city. This time I choose Alagon City Point. As usual. The service from the front desk was Excellent! Both friendly & helpful!

Plus points of the hotel:
1. 5 mins walking distance to Benn Thanh market
2. Much quieter compared to hotels near market. As it's slightly away from the main traffic.
3. Rooms are reasonable. Competitive rates along market area.

I stayed 4 nights and I had a decent sleep very night. Although no windows is a bit on negative side. But overall a good stay!

Arrived in the morning and went out of their way to make a room ready for us before 2pm.
Driver had to wait a while as it took a while to clear immigration but he was okay and pleasant and porters and restaurant staff were also very helpful

Great location, horrible noise and service, unsafe

There was constant noise from construction crew fixing, revamping the building. Even though the hotel stated it should only been between 8-5pm, it went on way pass 5pm. On our second night, we were awoken from our sleep at 1AM because someone opened our door with a hotel master key. When we inquired about it, they said a staff entered our room by mistake. How could it be a mistake when our door was locked with our key card in the wall slot? That was not it. The next day, while our family was staying in the room, another staff member open our door again using the hotel master key card. This was done again with us being in the room and without knocking our door. On our check out date, we had to wait by the elevators for a good 10 minutes. Every time the elevator stop by our floor and the door opens, we sees the staff was using it to transport their items. They kept telling us to wait for the next elevator. We ended up walking down three flight of narrow, steep stairs carrying our own luggage. We have four people staying in a family room and they only delivers two towel sets. We have to ask for extra towels every day.

Arrived to a room that was different to what was written on the wotif room description so was already disappointed. When we complained we were moved to an \"upgrade\" which was was disgustingly dirty, rotting bathroom and walls in bedroom dirty. Sheets in bed dirty. Only positive is helpful bellboy. ZERO VALUE FOR MONEY; only positive is location but you can get better. Do not stay here.

The breakfast buffet provided was very good, with a great variety of local and international options. The rooms are also very clean and well-kept, and the amenities provided are sufficient and comfortable. Wifi, although provided throughout the hotel, could have been faster but it was still adequate. Overall, pleasant stay with friendly staff who were eager to recommend places to visit in HCMC! Would love to stay here again on my next trip.

It's OK, but in a really good location

I stayed at Alagon Citypoint earlier this week with my wife and 6 year old daughter on the last part of our trip thru Vietnam. The hotel is joined to another Alagon hotel with a slightly different name, forming quite a large building with a common breakfast area. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the hotel was just average. Unfortunately, our room was at the rear of the building and was dark despite having a window (with a non-openable curtain so you couldn't see the close building next door). The family room we had was really big with true-size double beds, so it was good in that respect but I thought overall the hotel itself was pretty ordinary. The location however was really good, with a 4 minute walk to Ben Than market, and then on to the palace, musuem, cathedral, post office, etc.. If you just want a basic but large room/beds, and spend most of your time outside the hotel, then this might be a reasonable option, but don't expect to laze around the hotel here.
