The hotel rooms can now and then be without windows and this is normalt stated with text in facilities or room description. High Security risk staying in hotel rooms without windows.
Nothing was here stated that this room should be without windows. Under room info it was stated that the window had “window bars”

This were mentioned for the hotel staf that this should be corrected since this is highly misleading.

All staff was great but 1 stood out during my stay, his name is Nicholas, I met him during a complimentary coffee class the hotel provides. He began great service there. Then later on at the beautiful rooftop bar he made me some excellent drinks, then politely delivered room service in the middle of the night, then greeted me with a smile during breakfast. I rebooked another stay the next weekend because of him. Great hotel and great staff!!! Thank you for the hospitality and service!!

My room was spotless and super cute on the first night they came in to turn the bed down with a sweet dreams card. The pool was big enough to have a swim and I loved the jacuzzi. The free foot massage and evening drink were a really lovely touch.

The air conditioning wasn’t working and they kept trying to fix it instead of changing me to a different room with a working AC. It wasn’t until I got upset and it was almost 11pm at night that they agreed to give me a different room. There wasn’t much local food for breakfast and the same dishes were served everyday. Guests from India stayed there were loud and rude. I won’t be coming back or recommend to anyone.

We stayed at the Alagon for 2 nights in the imperial heritage suite. What a stay! Large, comfortable room in the heart of Ben Thanh. Close walk to the markets and delicious stalls and street food in the surrounds.The staff working here were absolutely beautiful and helpful. Always happy.
The buffet breakfast was amazing, free airport transfer and the free foot massage was a lovely perk. We will 100% stay here again when we return and would highly recommend to other travellers.

Amazing Alagon D’Antique!

GREAT HOTEL
We are travelling all over SE Asia & this hotel has been one of our favourites.
Very convenient location for exploring Ho Chi Minh city. Stayed here 5 nights, August 2025.
Lovely looking hotel, efficient/friendly staff & great variety of food/different each day for breakfast (and a delicious free dinner). I also loved the free cocktails and potato wedges every night (not expected). Pool at top was good; had loungers/towels. Great views!
Comfortable beds, free waters/toiletries/teas etc, fridge, & a clean room.
This is the only hotel that has actually shown a real effort to cut down on waste to help the environment (e.g no plastic bottles but instead used clean/refilled safe water in glass bottles).
Near bars/shops/restaurants & we used cars or walked to all the places of interest. Felt safe area.
We each had a free 30 min feet/legs massage too: good but a bit more physical than have had in UK!
Finally, I would especially like to thank a member of staff: Linh Pham. His English was good and he sorted any problem I had immediately. He’s the friendliest & most efficient person I have met on our trip. Every time I was waiting for a taxi, he would bring me over a cup of tea whilst I waited.

This is a true 4 star western hotel! The service and amenities upon arrival and throughout the trip were amazing. They made us feel truly special. Not safe location, Uncomfortable room

Dangerous location if you arrive late at night from the airport. Group of men standing near hotel across the street at 3 am when we arrived. After Grab car drove away one of them came towards us but turned around when hotel attendant came to help with our luggage. Beds are hard. Shower has almost no water pressure and took a long time to even get slightly warm. Sign in bathroom hanging says in English Do Not Flush Toilet Paper Down Toilet. (It could plug drain). About 2 hours into our sleep after arriving we get a phone call waking us up about 5 am asking if we are ready. Sounded like hotel front desk but they called the wrong room, caller even repeated our room number then hung up when they realized they called the wrong number. The “bottled water” in the room are the reusable glass bottles with a rubber cork. Looks like the bottle has been reused about a 1000 times from the wear on the cork. No wonder the hotel attendant said it was unlimited free bottled water when we checked in. Room has wear and looks old. Much better options in other parts of town. Hotel tried to make things better when we were checking out early from our multi night booking there but it was too late by that point. We didn’t feel comfortable or safe at this hotel and were on our way to a more expensive safer hotel.

I am a regular of this hotel group since 2014. I am glad that they have kept service level, food quality, room cleanliness well over a decade.

Whole room bundle comes with 1 complementary lunch meal set, complementary 30 mins foot massage, 1 complementary evening cocktail drink.

Only downside during this trip was that on 23 May morning, since 7 am, there was a annoying food prep noise. (I stayed at level 1).

5 nights in Saigon

We concluded our trip through Vietnam with 5 nights in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). We had room with 2 Queen size beds, they where very comfortable. The room was quite small but sufficient for us. Bathroom was big with shower/bath tub combined.
The towels where changed every day. Two free botles of water was brought every day.
The location was very good, in district 1.
Breakfast was included in our package, it was ok but not great. We also got vouchers for free drinks and foot massage.
The pool on the roof was a bit crowded at times. But we still used it every day.
Over all a very good alternative for the price and location. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.

We chose Alagon Hotel and Spa based on its 9.0 “Exceptional” rating and convenient District 1 location. Unfortunately, our experience was frustrating and disappointing.

At check-in, we were given a long list of rules, including a pricing chart for stains on linens and towels, with fines for everything from makeup smudges to minor marks. Even worse, a sign above the toilet instructed guests to dispose of toilet paper in an open trash bin—an unsanitary policy not disclosed before booking.

The spa service was equally frustrating. We booked a session through Mr. Mathew Nguyen, who confirmed before we left for a tour. Upon arrival, we were told he had left, and Ms. Huang Vy denied any record of our booking. After back-and-forth with the spa manager, Mr. Trung Nguyen, we were finally accommodated—only to have our 90-minute session cut to 45 minutes with no explanation but still charged in full. Communication was terrible, with staff dismissing concerns and ignoring guest requests.

The worst part came at checkout (4 a.m.), when staff inspected our room for stains and toilet paper compliance before letting us leave. We felt like they were holding us hostage. We were also charged for services not received, with staff refusing to adjust fees.

Hidden charges, poor service, and unprofessional and rude staff make this hotel’s high rating misleading. Future travelers should beware.

The rooms were large with comfortable beds. While breakfast is included, they also gave us a free cocktail every day, one dinner for two and a foot massage in their spa. We loved the rooftop bar. The hotel is close to dozens of restaurants and you can walk to many attractions. Shopping is very close by as well. The staff are excellent and attentive to your needs throughout the property. Lovely hotel, the staffs were very polite and friendly and always ready to be requested at your service. There is a minor construction going on out front because the entire street are being redone with the pavement/sidewalk so it's a little dusty when you stepped outside of the front entrance but that is the governments doing so soon enough everything will be nice and clean again. Good noodle restaurant near by 1 min walk and circle K 7/11 and a few spa/massage as well as bars. Late night street food restaurant and an Indian spot as well. The AC was icy cold which is perfect for me in the heat of Saigon, I was working from the hotel and internet connection was ok, it isnt the fastest but 1080p HD quality on Youtube is doable. 4K might be slower. Pretty Indochine/french influenced designs through out the property. I enjoyed my stays

I would suggest avoiding this hotel if you are going to be staying in Ho Chi Minh City. Believe the other negative reviews. We stayed at 3 other hotels in vietnam at similar price points to this one, which were all of substantially better quality.

We checked in to a \"Deluxe\" window room, but have to say we were extremely disappointed as the room was pretty bleak and not really representative of the pictures on the hotel expedia page. There are other reviews that describe the high level of noise in the room and they should be believed. We tried to sleep but there was a loud humming noise that resembled being on an airplane. When we told this to the front desk they were very dismissive and not apologetic at all, saying that it was not their fault. We asked to move rooms and they moved us to a windowless room with a small and very uncomfortable double bed. This room was even more unpleasant and just as noisy as the first room. There was an extremely loud whistling noise that would happen about every 20 - 30 minutes. In the secpnd room there was also an extractor fan that connected into the hallway so we could hear all of other guests coming and going in the hallway.

Lastly, we also had to pay a 1 million VND cash deposit for \"incidentals\", even though both rooms that we stayed in had a non-working and unstocked fridge. We found it really strange to not have the option to use a credit card for this.

I have so much to write about my experience for this trip with both Expedia and the Hotel that the amount of words that I am given for this review are way in sufficient.
Expedia had asked me about preferences whilst making our booking and this was not met ,the prices quoted was not shown during our booking that on different days the rates would be different. Which we would not have minded had the hotel and service been good .we had asked for a room away from the lift and instead we got a room right next to the lift which kept us up all night, you mention anything to the the hotel and they keep saying they are fully booked. We spoke to a another couple staying there and they also happened to be very upset with the hotel and the service. They have the worst breakfast ever, I could not have a proper shower because the water pressure was so bad and the heat very inconsistent. The room was the smallest we have ever been in. There is no way that our room was a twin deluxe They give the Hotel a high rating but this is cheating people. I would give them a 3 to 4 star rating. We were in Danang in September our Hotel was rated 4.6 but it was amazing in everything no complaints what so ever. On other sites the Alagon Hotel De' Antique is also rate as 4.3 which is exactly what it is, we will never ever be using be using Expedia again. This is my first review ever, Had they given it a true rating we would not have chosen this hotel. I wish I could have written more but I am limited.

Stay was okay. Construction noises were very loud. Couldn’t give me an accommodations because they say they were completely booked. Staff is professional breakfast is good and spa is great. Take advantage of vouchers they give you upon check-in can save a lot of money through the overall stay of your trip.
