Good place to stay. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. The lighting was good and there was a decent-sized TV in the room, unlike other hotels. Staff were super friendly and helpful and allowed us to check in early. It was also nice and quiet.

The bathroom was a strange design with the shower glass not extending far enough so the shower would spray onto the rest of the bathroom and soaked a lot of the bathroom floor. The door opened ok, but would hit the toilet seat if opened too far.

Otherwise, it was a very enjoyable stay and we would definitely book this hotel again. Very close to tram stop and the CBD. I can recommend View Melbourne.

Terrible check in process. Shockingly bad coming service, we had dirty plates and in room Dinning items at our front door for two days waiting collection.

Security deposit is such a redundant process, and surely this should be stayed in the T&Cs when booking but no, it didn’t.

The room is old and smells like old wet furniture. I must I still did not mind as we were out most of the times and staff at reception were really good and helpful. However, on our last day, we spotted a rat coming out near the fridge in the midnight, this was spotted by my partner and she was extremely scared and disgusted, as we had our clothes placed in the cabinet near the fridge. We did not go to report immediately as it was too late and we were very tired and were checking out at 11 in the morning. I have reported this to the reception while checking out, he was kind enough to acknowledge my concern and even provide a carpark waiver, however, I feel this incident has made us feel so disgusted and it shouldn’t happen on a holiday.

I was very disappointed with the room which was advertised with a discount. The hotel was far from full but I was given a room (926) behind the lift with very poor soundproofing. Going to the Alfred Hospital the next morning, I got little sleep as everytime the lift was activated the noise reverberated through the wall . The room looked out onto a brick wall. I would have expected some thought given to people who book a one-bedroom room. Just because it's discounted, is no excuse for such a noisy and no-view room.
They also reassured me that the reception was a 24-hour reception. When I arrived back after dinner at 9.45pm, there was no one on the desk. There were major stains on the carpet. I felt I was given one of the poorest rooms in the hotel.
I would encourage anyone booking with this hotel to confirm which room they have booked and refuse any room ending in 26.
I will never book at this hotel again.

Nice comfortable hotel with later checkout at 11am. Our room was not ready so they kept our bags so we could enjoy our stay. Would have liked them to notify us when room was available as I feel 3pm is pretty late in afternoon to get into your room. Staff were friendly and offered a breakfast deal. One lift was closed and this lead to a bit of a wait up and down. Miss the old rooftop pool.

Breakfast was great.
The room 821 was a bit run down and looked tatty which we hadn’t had before when staying at The View.
We also got hit for $21 parking which was a surprise as we haven’t pad parking before.
One of the lifts was out of order which made accessing the room painful and the one operating light was crowded and slow to get to as a result.
We have stayed at View about 5 times this year and this was the only time the room has felt worn and run down.
The parking was an unpleasant surprise.

There was someone else’s hair in the shower drain when we arrived but this was rectified. Scuff marks on lots of doors but didn’t affect the stay. Paid for parking both nights but when trying to find a park Saturday night after being out, had to go to basement 2 (public parking) so not sure why I paid for parking….

Checking in went well. The staff were friendly and informative. The elevator requires scanning the room card, which is a nice safety feature. The room itself was clean. The walls and doorways could use a wipe down to get rid of the smears and scuffs. The bathroom is the poorest design and layout I've ever seen. The shower, which has great strength and temperature, only has a glass wall half way out from where the shower head is. That means that water easily leaves the shower area, getting onto the floor and hitting the wooden door. The wooden door is beginning to warp and split. Leaving a bath mat too close to the opening of the shower area results in a wet bath mat. Also, there is a metal shelf on the shower head wall. It's not sharp, but that's a terrible spot to put it. The logistics of this setup are mind boggling. The carpet could use a stronger vacuum going over it, if they vacuum at all. The staff at the restaurant weren't very welcoming. The view from a room facing the city was worth the extra charge. Tram service to get downtown was really easy. It's a very safe area.

I loved my stay at the hotel. The room was spacious and very comfortable, which made my experience even more enjoyable. Although the view from my room was a wall (somewhat ironic considering the hotel is called View Melbourne), it didn't detract from how good I felt during my stay. I especially want to commend the housekeeping team, as my room was always spotless and tidy.

Yes, the room was spotless; looking fresh and new. Spacious and well equipped; huge TV and comfortable bed with smooth sheets. In fact, the whole hotel took the appearance of somewhere normally priced well above what I paid. Lastly, the hotel staff had the courtesy and initiative to call me.afyer I had left a phone charger in the room; which I was able to collect.

We had a group booking for business and the names on one of the rooms changed because the person originally staying in that room broke their femur and we had to get someone had to fill in for them. This was a last minute change so we were no longer able to ammend the booking on the portal. This sort of thing has never been an issue at any other hotel we've ever booked before. Sometimes with group bookings things change! The card holder who was paying for everything, their room and card were still the same but the hotel refused to let us check in without the name being changed on this one room, and they refused to change the name at their end. The receptionist was so rude, refused to use common sense and was extremely unhelpful. When you're away for work, this sort of unprofessionalism is extra painful and I wouldn't rely on this property again for any travel.

Room was nice, but the rest of the hotel needs to complete refresh. It feels very old and tired. The so-called gym was an absolute joke the sauna closed and the pool was boarded off permanently. On Australia day I came back at about 6:30 PM hoping to have a quiet drink and was told that the bar and restaurant are both closed because “it’s a public holiday”. - which of course is exactly when paying guests want to relax and unwind.

From the time of check in till we left. No issues. Clean room, comfy bed, tram stop 100m from hotel and close to Albert Park for a run. We normally stay in the big city but this time we decided to stay out of the city and explore St Kilda area. Will definitely use this hotel in the future.

Our 1st room hadn't been fully cleaned, dust on all hard surface tops, not good when you have a 16 month old with allergies and the tiny milk carton in the fridge was open.
The shower bay is only half enclosed so then the bath matt gets totally wet before you get out of the shower.
The 2nd room upgrade was exactly the same apart from the milk.
There is no free drinking water in the rooms.
The Breakfast Buffet was average with not enough staff working.
