Checking in went well. The staff were friendly and informative. The elevator requires scanning the room card, which is a nice safety feature. The room itself was clean. The walls and doorways could use a wipe down to get rid of the smears and scuffs. The bathroom is the poorest design and layout I've ever seen. The shower, which has great strength and temperature, only has a glass wall half way out from where the shower head is. That means that water easily leaves the shower area, getting onto the floor and hitting the wooden door. The wooden door is beginning to warp and split. Leaving a bath mat too close to the opening of the shower area results in a wet bath mat. Also, there is a metal shelf on the shower head wall. It's not sharp, but that's a terrible spot to put it. The logistics of this setup are mind boggling. The carpet could use a stronger vacuum going over it, if they vacuum at all. The staff at the restaurant weren't very welcoming. The view from a room facing the city was worth the extra charge. Tram service to get downtown was really easy. It's a very safe area.

I loved my stay at the hotel. The room was spacious and very comfortable, which made my experience even more enjoyable. Although the view from my room was a wall (somewhat ironic considering the hotel is called View Melbourne), it didn't detract from how good I felt during my stay. I especially want to commend the housekeeping team, as my room was always spotless and tidy.

Yes, the room was spotless; looking fresh and new. Spacious and well equipped; huge TV and comfortable bed with smooth sheets. In fact, the whole hotel took the appearance of somewhere normally priced well above what I paid. Lastly, the hotel staff had the courtesy and initiative to call me.afyer I had left a phone charger in the room; which I was able to collect.

We had a group booking for business and the names on one of the rooms changed because the person originally staying in that room broke their femur and we had to get someone had to fill in for them. This was a last minute change so we were no longer able to ammend the booking on the portal. This sort of thing has never been an issue at any other hotel we've ever booked before. Sometimes with group bookings things change! The card holder who was paying for everything, their room and card were still the same but the hotel refused to let us check in without the name being changed on this one room, and they refused to change the name at their end. The receptionist was so rude, refused to use common sense and was extremely unhelpful. When you're away for work, this sort of unprofessionalism is extra painful and I wouldn't rely on this property again for any travel.

Room was nice, but the rest of the hotel needs to complete refresh. It feels very old and tired. The so-called gym was an absolute joke the sauna closed and the pool was boarded off permanently. On Australia day I came back at about 6:30 PM hoping to have a quiet drink and was told that the bar and restaurant are both closed because “it’s a public holiday”. - which of course is exactly when paying guests want to relax and unwind.

From the time of check in till we left. No issues. Clean room, comfy bed, tram stop 100m from hotel and close to Albert Park for a run. We normally stay in the big city but this time we decided to stay out of the city and explore St Kilda area. Will definitely use this hotel in the future.

Our 1st room hadn't been fully cleaned, dust on all hard surface tops, not good when you have a 16 month old with allergies and the tiny milk carton in the fridge was open.
The shower bay is only half enclosed so then the bath matt gets totally wet before you get out of the shower.
The 2nd room upgrade was exactly the same apart from the milk.
There is no free drinking water in the rooms.
The Breakfast Buffet was average with not enough staff working.

We ate in the Hops cafe, the staff were amazing and the breakfast menu fantastic.
Room was clean, but there was 3 of us and only 2 sachets of coffee, 2 cups, 2 towels, basically set up for 2 people, even though they knew 3 of us were staying. We had booked a king room, they first checked us into a room with 2 single beds, we had to ask for the proper amount of required necessities for 3 people. The lights were half not functioning. They claimed to supply toiletries but the containers were empty.
The Linen was just a sheet over the doonah. Our King bed was two king singles pushed together so I had to sleep on the dived of the beds where they were pushed together.

While the hotel itself was nice, we were extremely disappointed with the fact the pool was closed for maintenance

I booked this stay a few days ahead of time knowing the weather was going to be 30 degrees plus on the days we were there, and selected this property specifically for the pool. No mention at hotel check in with staff or on any advisories that this was the case. My kids and I got dressed to use the pool and went downstairs to reception to ask what floor it was on, only to be laughed at by the male staff member and told to try again in a couple of weeks. This was so sad for my kids and unacceptable behaviour from the staff.

The ac are fan only & are set at 18.5c min which on the hot days, u like in the oven. The hallways are cooler than our room. We set the fan on high but after few minutes, it will go to auto & the room becomes hot again. We cannot have proper sleep bcs it was too hot. The room is dusty too.

The bed was awful , two singles zipped up the middle with no mattress topper on it , the zip kept coming un done and hubby fell through twice , this is the first time he hassle ever suffered from a bad back..
the pool was closed the spa was closed the gym only 2 machines , the toilets don’t used them up there , fair warning .. there was no view we faced a wall .. there was no blanket in the wardrobe and it was cold ..

Room housekeeping is generally okay and they are responsive when extra requests were made. Easy location to get Uber and a little walk to take tram. Quite quiet and peaceful through the week. I was travelling for a conference at The Alfred Hospital and chose The View because of the closeness to the hospital. I arrived later in the evening and the staff were helpful, efficient and obliging.
My room was on the 8th floor - unfortunately no view but that was not an issue for me.
The room was very clean and spacious although some repairs were necessary - toilet door came back onto my knees while sitting and the door was warped from the moisture however, these are just superficial irritations.
Fridge space is very limited.
My 2 day stay was comfortable.
Room service was prompt and tasty.
Breakfast was not included however, there was adequate options from which to choose.
Saturday night i ate at the restaurant - food was nice but my meat was quite chewy but cooked the way i requested. The young lady serving was knowledgeable and helpful but limited interaction when trying to leave at the end of the meal.
Other than those tiny little remarks, i would definitely stay there again if i needed to be in that vicinity on my next business trip.
I had thought there was a pool but this is not the case for at least 2yrs!

Well we went out the sexond day and upon return at 4.30pm room had still not been made up. When we took the lift up, the doors jammed and wouldnt open on the 7th floor...took lift down then up n it did it again, partner was quicken shaken thinking we would be stuck in the lift...had to take lift up a floor n take stairs down to our floor...and grouting in bathroom/shower poor and dirty/moldy. When room done, dirty cups not replaced with clean or coffees n milk topped up..pretty

We had a wonderful stay at The View Hotel St Kilda. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and offered a beautiful outlook. It was quiet at night and the bedding made for a very restful sleep. We will definitely book this room again.

We enjoyed a great meal and drinks at the Hops Bar and loved being able to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. The buffet breakfast was excellent and I really appreciated that, as a vegetarian, the baked beans were paired with the hash browns rather than a meat dish.

Every staff member we encountered was kind and welcoming which made our stay even better. Overall, a lovely experience and highly recommended.
