The room looked a bit dated but it was spotless clean and very comfortable.
The staff at both frontoffice and at breakfast are very courteous and friendly.
The breakfast buffet was simple but enough variety to fill yourself up.
The location was very central and we walked everywhere.

Find better rooms and ammenities for a better pric

The room was advertised as having a deep soaking tub and I was also told that I would be able to get a king size bed when I arrived but they gave me two twins .. The staff was excellent which explains a higher price but the price was and if it can we hire considering that the room was not very great quality and there was nothing they could do to give me the king size bed I was told I would receive when I booked the reservation. My recommendation is don’t stay here for the price they charge it is very easy to find other rooms that are much more qualities for even cheaper. I paid around 1500 baht for this room it should have only cost around 700 for room of this quality. & another 300 baht for the service.

Good hotel but maintenance needed

When I stayed this hotel first in 2012, I felt it a faultlessly good hotel. However since then I have felt the hotel deteriorating year by year. I can find small drawbacks, ie. broken door chain, broken drawer or broken bathtub stopper. They regretably lower the impression of this nice hotel.
Sometimes I check in after 22:00 because of the flight delay at Wattay Airport. Then I think their night staffs at the reception friendly but they should be more instructed.

Pleasant hotel in a quiet location

I was satisfied with my stay at the hotel. The staff is very pleasant, the hotel is in a quiet yet central location not far from the city center and the riverfront, in a surrounding where most other hotel are located as well. The breakfast was decent with enough selection and variety. The hotel itself is not new but clean and well-kept.

The suites are very spacious, the deluxe rooms are OK. I think that we were spolit by the suite room so when we only got the deluxe it felt so much smaller - but was definitely more spacious than most big city hotels.

The Charge me for additional fee a second bed that advertising on the wed site. They lie about having a full kitchen. There no kitchen at all. No kitchenware. No kitchenette. No microwaves . Nothing about kitchen was true . False advertising. Charge high prices on the full kitchen. No was very disappointed. Stay away from this hotel.

Lovely hotel in central location. Nice room and balcony. Buffet breakfast was great and big selection of food on offer. Staff were very friendly and helpful and in particular the Indian manager whose name I forgot to write down. About a ten minute walk to the river front. There is a handy well stocked grocery store on the next corner from the hotel and it's open until midnight. We enjoyed our stay here.

City Inn Vientiane - best place to stay in town

I enjoyed my 2 nights' stay at the City Inn Vientiane. The location is near several landmarks, and everything is in walking distance from the hotel (except the That Luange, which is far from everything). The staff are quite helpful, even with their limited English-speaking capability. Pam, the hotel manager, was especially helpful. Many thanks to her for arranging things.

Good hotel but a bit becoming aging

When I had stayed before last year, I found this hotel quite satisfactory and comfortable, deserving five star considering the hotel rate. However during this stay I feel small parts of equipment starts aging. And also service of the hotel staffs seems lowering. I feel this hotel is still excellent in this city at this range of hotel rate. Therefore I hope this hotel is advisable to fix thier equipments and train their staffs to keep attractive in the future.

Nice stay in December 2015

Staff were very friendly and made helpful suggestions on what to do during my short time in Vientiane. (Hint: Buddha Park!) The chef prepared special--and delicious--food to accommodate my dietary restrictions.

Terrible reception!

If I had checked in this hotel during daytime, I would have rated \"excellent\". However I was too unlucky to check in late in the night. I have never consumed half an hour to check in a hotel anywhere in the world! And during my waiting the reception seemed impolite and lukewarm to find my reservation. However excellent the other factors are, unfortunately the first touch of the hotel could largely spoil the image.

Without question, great value

I stayed at City Inn for a week in late September 2015 on a business trip and had a \"junior suite\" which was very spacious and comfortable. The bedroom was excellent, and the living room was fine. All the rooms in the hotel have full length windows and so are bright and comfortable, the internet is fine, the hotel staff are fabulous - very welcoming and responsive, the buffet breakfast each morning was just great with four hot dishes, four salad items, cereal, yogurt and a toaster to make toast or heat up croissants. I would absolutely go back not only for another business trip but also to stay in a regular bedroom with my wife. I recommend it very highly. It is right next door to the upscale Lao Plaza (where I have stayed previously) and you can stay at City Inn for better service at half the price. City Inn is one of the best hotel values in Vientiane without question

The hotel is conveniently located around the city area with many restaurants within walking distance. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Service is good too with the staff providing information that we need. However, more smiles by the staff can be added to make the service better. I would recommend this hotel if you want a comfortable room and good location.

nice hotel not far from the Thai consulate

for the price, it's okay .. a little over-priced for me .. certainly a 3-star hotel at least .. the complementary breakfasts were scrumptuous and varied .. all local night-life accessible via tuk-tuk .. the Thai consulate is walk-able .. i'm very neat so i din't need daily cleaning services .. if you like Lao beer, it's cheaper at the local mini-mart not far from the hotel .. and .. not far from there is Sabaidee Sushi which is quite nice :) .. all in all, a very nice experience! :) ps: the internet speeds are decent compared to others :)

Stayed here twice 5 days apart. Both times the complimentary internet was not working. One day I understand but twice in the span of a week is unacceptable. Many people were complaining but it still went without repair. Be forewarned internet issues might derail your choice to stay in this otherwise friendly hotel.

Stayed 4 nights in this hotel (room 205). Room is spacious. Although the hotel has aged, it is still in fairly good condition. There are two things that needs attention. Almost everything is good except that some towels were stained. The toilet bowl (under rim) is also stained. Also Hotel issued only 1 keycard even after requesting for another.

Simple Chic hotel

pros: very chic (floors are not carpeted), staff was very helpful, breakfast was great, a/c worked well, cute balcony, simple free wi-fi. cons: night shift waitress seemed new or untrained, mosquitoes are all over the rooms (spent a lot of time killing them), hallway was gloomy, front desk area set-up was awkward. Overall, I would not stay here again unless a few small improvements are made to justify the price of the stay.

Ok hotel in central Vientiane

Standard but ok hotell near central city. Room was clean and comfortable, and not in the most noicy part of central V. Walking distanse to most services, restaurant etc. We left hotel before breakfast for travelling to Luang Prabang ( north bus station is a few km's away). Hotel supplied us a breakfast to bring with us. In it self a nice service, however the breakfast was not :) But no problem, there is good good to but everywhere. Good and stable internet access from the room.

Good value for money. Breakfast includes personal orders of eggs etc and buffet food is warm and tasty, especially the mashed potatoes with cheese. Reception staff are personable and helpful, making sure that you get a good deal from agents. Bathroom is spacious with both bathtub n shower. We are going back to the hotel!

Stayed 5 nights here for official work. Its a nice hotel in the centre of the town with clean rooms and clean beds. The buffet breakfast is outstanding., nothing lavish but good taste and sumptuous.
The staff is ok but no one speaks good english.However they are helpful and cooperative.

The Free Wi-Fi was as good as can be for Vientiane and accessible from our room. The included breakfast was good and you can request eggs and soup cooked to order.

High quality except for smoking

This is a high quality hotel with one important exception. We reserved a non-smoking room, but were given a room with strong smoke smell. We complained so they sent us a maid with a can of scent spray. We rejected that method, so they showed us to another room that had slightly less smoke smell. We were too tired from travel to try for a third room. Other wise the hotel is high quality. The restaurant serves good food in a relaxing atmosphere with a pleasant koi pond nearby.

Great little hotel

The stay at City Inn Vientiane was wonderful. It was close to sights but yet not in the hustle bustle of the town so it was quiet and just down the street for shops or local restaurants. The service was great although the quality of English is limited unless a manager was available to assist with the translations. Most sights was walkable distance and easy once you get your bearings. The only suggestion is for the dining staff to learn different ways eggs are cooked so the order will not be confused.

A lovely room, but ...

The suite was spacious and clean, but the bathroom left much to be desired. The toilet seat was broken, the shower head sprayed out the side, the sink water temperature could not be varied and the towels were ancient. With a little work on the bathroom, the hotel could easily rate a 4+.

Comfortable and Modern

City Inn is clean and modern. It has all the amenities I would expect from a nice hotel from back home in the states. The water pressure was good, AC cold, and the food was delicious. Also, I was impressed with the available vegetarian food in the complimentary breakfast every morning. My bed was made new every day with fresh clean towels and the fridge refilled. The location is good because it sits on a corner lot that is not too busy. Plus, it's in walking distance from major attractions and the Mekong River. Overall, the staff are friendly and provide truly exceptional service for guest. I would stay there again next time.

Recently stayed at this hotel. Pro's inexpensive..walking distance to many restaurants. Cons ..... Dark....gloomy....non smoking room reeked of smoke and single handily the worst lobby staff i have ever seen. Had to check out at 530 am went down nobody was there, all doors were locked, took a walk around and found both attendants sound asleep in the hotel restaurant and kindly woke them up and asked them to unlock the entire hotel so we could leave (has to be some sort of Laos fire codes in jeopardy there ??). Besides that no city maps, everything was done manually, no recommendations on restaurants (I just got a shrug when asked). Room has no carpet and cold cement...there are much better hotels for the price....stay somewhere else.

Great service, great location, free wi-fi and great breakfast!

The service was extremely friendly, gracious and welcoming. The door guys met me where the cab dropped me off, and carried my bag in, clearly without expecting a tip. The check-in process was fast and yet she took time to answer my questions about the area, and afterwards made the effort to take me to the front door to show me where to go.

The room itself was great - spacious, clean, cool and well-lit. The bathroom / shower were clean and had good pressure: shampoo, soap & conditioner all provided. Free wi-fi!

Breakfast was a range of offers: fruit, toast/bread/croissant, eggs, yoghurt & milk, flakes or muesli / granola, and Asian offerings such as noodles and vegetables, juices. And great Lao coffee, regular coffee or tea.

I stayed there twice, and the first time they ended up giving me an upgrade when there was an opening.
