It is the place v to stay in Lisbon. Easy access to beach restaurants and shopping.the hotel is beautiful and staff is friendly and speak English. Nice spa and outdoor pool too.

Not a 5* more a 4* sunbeds around pool old and uncomfortable, not the ones on the web site, spa pool towels very old and thin, breakfast very good,what makes this hotel is the staff, they are all young which was a surprise but just friendly and professional, as a solo traveler they all had excellent customer service. especially Erica, Joao and John in restaurant.

Fantastic Stay at Palacio dos Arcos in Aug 24.
Excellent Value and facilities including the indoor and outdoor pool and massage.
Rooms were clean, large and the balcony view of the sea from our 2nd floor room was great.
We took advantage of the Half Board option which provided an excellent dinner in the evening - a special mention for Joao who looked after us exceptionally well.
Proximity to the train station, meant easy access along the coast to Cascais, must be said no noise from the train could be heard from the hotel.
Look forward to returning again.

We recently stayed at this hotel and were surprised by how dark the room was—there wasn't much light, the light fixtures were old. Additionally, our room was quite far from the hotel entrance, which was inconvenient. Overall, the experience was okay, but the hotel felt a little outdated and could use some refreshing.

This hotel is magnificent. I enjoyed every minute. The only complaint I have is re coffee. The lack of a coffee machine at breakfast was disappointing. There are Nespresso machines which you can request for your room. Unfortunately none were available during our stay. But overall everything was brilliant and I’ll be back - requesting my Nespresso machine before arrival 😁

This is a wonderful hotel with helpful, polite and attentive staff, always available to support you.
The hotel is within a local residential neighbourhood but feels quiet, private and has an attractive garden with a clean and pleasant poolside area. There is also an indoor pool and spa with a very simple gym.
The room was spacious and clean with a very comfortable bed. Top quality breakfast with good service and lots of choice.

There are local restaurants nearby outside the hotel that we found (in July 2023) to be of extremely good value and high quality. We would suggest Tasquinha Da Vila for a great meal.

Nearest train station is a 5 min walk where you can catch a suburban train into central Lisbon with a journey time of 20 mins.
We found buying the viva viagem card useful for frequent trips in and out of the city.

Favourite hotel.

Great hotel set in its own attractive garden. Convenient location for travel and restaurants. Staff always excellent. Arranged transfer from Lisbon airport for us, 4 adults and a toddler needing a child seat, which was very helpful. In fact, hotel and staff are very welcoming of children. Stayed 5 times now and never disappointed. Going to book our 6th stay later this year.

I have just returned from an amazing stay at this Hotel. The staff were all very friendly and very helpful. The Hotel is in an area that doesnt have very much around it so you need to travel to other areas for eating out. But this Hotel is in the ideal location for traveling into Lisbon and other tourist locations. It is also perfect for spending a day by the pool. I only had dinner once in the hotel restaurant and it was wonderful the food was amazing.

We booked this stay and were excited for the trip. The hotel exterior is gorgeous and interior is ok. The hotel rooms are very dated.

I was shocked by the cost for a 3rd person. I believe it was a 30% fee and they just gave us the couch bed. They did not provide us with a blanket or pillow for the couch bed. They provided just 2 nespresso pods (for 3 adults) and charged us for the 3rd even tho we had paid hundreds of dollars for someone to sleep on a crappy couch bed. They didn’t provide the 3rd robe, towel or any other amenities.

Our first night we called the front desk and told them our AC was not working. They kept coming to the room and telling us it was - when it very clearly wasn’t and you could stand in front of the vent to see it not work. Finally someone came at 3:30am and agreed it wasn’t working and said they were saying it was working “cause they didn’t know what else to do”. They offered to move us to another room the following day.

Overall I would give our experience there a 1 out of 5. I asked the front desk to work with me on the charges and they said the manager would call me- never did. Don’t recommend staying here at all.

This is probably my 5th stay at this property. I've been coming for years. My Mum lives close by. I love the location in the middle of Lisbon and Cascais.
What I love about staying at the Palacio dos Arcos is the staff, the pool, the gardens, the serenity I feel. The gardens are usually amazing too and helps me feel grounded. Big shout out to the staff, Liliana, Diago, Thayane, Alekssander, iZilda (sorry might have spelt it wrong) and all the beautiful people who made our experience so amazing.

- room size is good, spacious with desk if you need to work as well

- first room was dirty with ants in bathroom and in bed. They kindly changed me into a new room which was very clean and tidy.

The bedroom needs more electric sockets and a mirror that can be used by somebody drying their hair. The gym is basic with limited weights selection. On the other hand the outdoor pool was excellent. The hotel is a beautiful restoration of an old palace with a modern hotel block behind it. The whole development has been completed to a very high standard which retains the ambiance of the old building. My very positive experience manes that I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

We had a nice stay in this historic hotel. I thought it was on the water but it is not as it is separated by the highway. We had a nice experience in the spa getting massages as well as using the indoor pool, sauna and steam room. It was a little too cool for using the outdoor pool but it did look beautiful. The gardens around the hotel are very nice as well. Breakfast in the hotel is very good, although we usually had to wait for the omelette station attendant. We had dinner in the hotel once and while the server was excellent the food Left much to be desired. The hotel is close to many restaurants within walking distance as well as a grocery store, Two coffee shops and pharmacy.

Great resort hotel

A five night stay, after a months travel, this was a perfect way to end our trip.
This five-star hotel is more like a resort. We woke up to the View of the Atlantic ocean every morning. Enjoyed a turn down service and truffle each night. The complementary breakfast was second to none. We only enjoy dinner once, in the restaurant, as we’d like to get out and enjoy the local restaurants and people. The rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable, huge bathroom with full amenities. We enjoyed a bottle of wine on them. A Surprise, second bottle of wine was brought to us on the day of our anniversary, accompanied with a delicious piece of cheesecake. The spa is wonderful and the staff everywhere are kind and helpful. With the train station right behind the hotel it made it easy for us to hop on and go into Lisbon and then in a few days later go to Cascais. We would definitely recommend this hotel, lots of history in the old part of the hotel. Did I mention the beautiful grounds and garden, that’s not to be missed or overlooked.

We had the best of both worlds by having our hotel in a tranquil, relax-by-the pool setting and also having easy access to the bustling city with all of its interesting sites. great little hotel.. very good staff..

lovely hotel.. right on the coast.. Not much going on in the town itself but hotel is close to the Train station so Lisbon city is only 20 minutes away.. Great location if you are visiting Tagus Business Park on a business trip.. or want to use the hotel as a base to explore the area by car..

Rooms are very spacious and big. there is a lack of Power sockets in the bed rooms close to the bed for iPads and phones.. but thats a small issue.

The hotel is about a twenty minute commuter train ride from downtown Lisbon. It sits right on the mouth of the river in a beautiful and walkable neighborhood with shops and restaurants. The food at the hotel was excellent and reasonable. They have connections to a vineyard, so the wine was great as well. The rooms are each named for a different poet or author. The walls are covered in poetry. The staff was amazing. Fred, Tiago, and Sophia were our servers at meal times and took great care of us. We are already trying to figure out how to go back.

I stayed here as a sole business traveller and the location was ideal. About 30 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes from Oeiras and lots of restaurants and cafes close by for evening meals. WiFi was a bit unpredictable as it varied in strength but a great night's sleep and good spacious rooms with a gym on site

Beautiful hotel with glorious view

Very welcoming. Fabulous breakfast with extras available to order and attentive service. Luis, one of the waiters kept us entertained with his knowledge of welsh language and culture. A young porter also deserves mention for his efforts to help arrange a tool to get into our suitcase when we locked the key inside!
It was a little way out of the centre near some little beaches which suited us as we were on a family holiday rather than a city break

Wonderful hotel a mix of old and new very tastefully decorated with great facilities. Lovely grounds and swimming pool with plenty of comfortable sun loungers. A short walk to the train station and plenty of good restaurants nearby.

We very much enjoyed staying at the Vila Gale Collection Palacio dos Arcos. The hotel was superb. The rooms are large and well appointed and the combination of the old, historic part of the hotel and the new part housing the rooms works very well. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

The small town it is situated in is limited, but does have a couple of restaurants. We would recommend getting the train into Lisbon as it is very convenient.

It is such a beautiful Hotel, inside and outside. Personally, I could not fault it or the staff,, except for the Restaurant menu, my problem not theirs. The Breakfast is super. The train is a very short distance away, up a hill, and the trains are frequent and cheap!
Lisbon was a slight disappointment from my previous visit; Sintra was awful! The traffic was horrendous ( someone needs to sort it out big time!!). Cascais I thoroughly enjoyed, and the sea front at the Hotel was a pleasant walk.
Personally, I found the ''riverboat tour'' in Lisbon was a rip-off. Didn't go the distance as on the brochure!!, Oh! and at Belem, crossing from the sea front to the town side is quite difficult ( however, the restaurants on the seaside are great!

Lovely hotel in quiet village

Fabulous hotel in quiet village, in between Cascais and Lisbon but so close to coastal train that exploring was very easy. Buy a week long train ticket for E12 which allows unlimited travel on train so easy to access Lisbon and all small towns along coast, very regular trains and runs late into night. Hotel very comfortable, got busier towards end of our stay and pool aea was a bit busier but at no time did we feel there was insufficient room. The gardens are still being developed but are already lovely and well tended. The spa is quite small, there is a steam room and a sauna but nice indoor pool with several loungers. The bar area next to the pool was lovely and staff were very helpful and accomodating. We had three adults in a pool side room which was huge. Sofa bed for 3rd adult was very comfortable and toiletries and towels replaced/renewed every day. Breakfasts were lovely, only ate one evening meal which was good. Reatuarants nearby but best meal was at Restaurant Tamariz at Estoril.

lovely hotel in quiet town

The hotel was lovely, beautiful view from pool and gardens. Close to beach and train which made it convenient but there was nothing to do in the town. Breakfast was amazing, served in a gorgeous dining room with balconies over looking the river. No complaints what's so ever.

The town was a bit too quiet though. Not many restaurants and a little creepy at night. We spent all our time in other areas such as Cascais, Estoril, and Lisbon.

The most amazing hotel!

The aim was to have a relaxed, calm break and we got that from the wonderful country, hotel, food and weather! The hotel is close enough to Lisbon (20 minutes by train which was roughly €3 return) but far enough away to enjoy the peaceful surroundings!

The staff were wonderful and could not do enough to accommodate all our needs.

Small tip, make sure to visit the local restaurants, we dined as the tavern (Portuguese), Italian and Japanese restaurants and they were so enjoyable! The sushi was so fresh, the Portuguese so much variety, and the Italian food so yummy!

We cannot recommend this hotel enough, and we will be sure to visit again!

Just one word... WOW!

We just wanted to stay for one night in Lisbon on the Atlantic. I lucked across this hotel and it's incredible! They give you a tour and tell you about the history of the hotel. It's newly remodeled and just fabulous. We will definitely stay again when we come back. We even watch a cruise ship go buy on its way into Lisbon. Don't miss this one! The breakfast buffet was very nice. The dinner option was great; just a little expensive, but SO worth it! Very classy.

Couple Overnight

Our experience at this Vila was amazing from the moment we walked through the door. We were sat at the front desk and given orange juice while we waited to be checked in. The costumer service is amazing and everyone treated us like royalty. After checking in we were given a tour of the hotel which was beautiful and breathtaking (the photos online do not do this hotel justice). After spending the day in our beautiful hotel room we went to the front desk and asked if there was anywhere good around the hotel for dinner that was in walking distance. The men at the desk asked us what kind of food we wanted, called the restaurant ahead of time to see if there was a table available for us, and then walked us all the way to the restaurant himself. Everything about this hotel was wonderful! The lunch we had was delicious and the staff was so attentive and friendly! I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this area. They made our stay extremely enjoyable.

Exceptional luxury.

This hotel is superb in almost all respects. the facilities are exceptional, practically every requirement is catered for. The staff are friendly, helpful and committed, they seem proud of their hotel. The rooms are large and well appointed.
Breakfast is memorable, every item of breakfast food is offered including an extensive menu of cooked items at no extra cost. The pool is constantly supervised during the day and is beautifully kept, as are the grounds. The former private palace serves as admin block, reception and restaurant, while the rooms are contained in extensions to the side. Guests accommodated in the furthest part of the hotel have some way to walk to the restaurant and exit so anyone with mobility issues may wish to ensure they are allocated a room closer to the reception area. After the foregoing it seems a pity to add a word of criticism but sound-proofing in the rooms is minimal, it is impossible to play the TV at an audible level without disturbing the neighbours, and a running shower next door is clearly audible. My wife also complained that the mirror in the bedroom had no electrical socket nearby. The bedroom lighting was quirky and far from adequate. the local suburban line from Lisbon to Cascais is 6 or 7 minutes away, cheap and frequent.
