We booked 3 rooms. One for our 2 sons (16 & 19), one for our daughters (14, 16 & 18), and one for us.
Me and my husbands room smelled so bad of sewage, i could not sleep. We complained and they changed us to a much better room. The air conditioner was broken but they did try to fix it right away. When they couldn't, they offered another room. We didn't want to change again so we asked for a fan. They gave us a really nice, powerful fan that did the trick. The shower smelt of sulfer strong. Our kids rooms were fine. Our sons rooms air conditioner was leaking so much water but they fixed it. Also they had a shower room seperate from their toilet room. The toilet area smelled fine but their showet room had an awful smell. The food was good for some of us, not so good for others. Some had stomach issues during our stay. The staff was absolutely amazing! They were the best part to be honest. They try hard to keep you happy, they're pleasant & helpful. The resort itself was nice, they close the pools at 8 pm though so that kind of sucked. Plus they cut off drinks and snacks, etc. By 1 am. Nightly entertainment was good! The beach was also good! The only complaint being how much they hussle you there. Its annoying. You basically need to go with a roll of bills to be comfortable. Prices are outrageous, people there are always trying to get you to buy something. The excursions are amazing but sometimes cut short, and the drive is nerve wracking!

El hotel es pequeño pero acogedor,la comida tiene buen sason,es buena ,solo que falta un poco mas de fruta ,lo unico que no ne gusto es la falta de toallas de playa y sillas,teniamos que acomodarnos en la arena .El personal es muy gentil,me gusto mucho la amabilidad de Scarlet Feliz,muy amable y nos iso sentir muy comodos.La playa es muy tranquila para bañar ,bien placentera y si regresaria otra vez,pero tengo que llevar toallas de playa para no tener problemas.

Great location for those who want the best of resort and local action. Room itself was clean an made well however faucets and drains seem dirty and attract mosquitos. Also, THERE IS NO SPA ON RESORT. I brought my girlfriend here for her birthday and she loves spas so to not be included with the spa really let us down. Laundry services are also off the resort but the neighborhood isn’t too bad, the locals were helpful. The beach experience was nice and the sky bar was cool too. Aside from that the resort itself is nice and the food was ok, depends on the chef.

El check in nos tomo 1 hora y tanto oara que nos pydieran atender.
El menu del hotel era realemnte limitado con alimentos que no esperas ver en un hotel todo incluido como carne molida, arroz y lentejas.
El agua para bañarse muy clorificada al punto q puedes asfixiar en el baño cerrado. Toallas sucias, en fin todo muy feo.

This place was absolutely ridiculous! Dirty and outdated, staff tried but most of the issues were out of their hands! Like no clean towels!!!!? They ran out every single day! How is this possible at a 4star resort?!!
We had toilet not flushing, days that water would stop running without a notice, missing window in a bathroom, revolting smell out of a filthy shower drain etc etc Even the food was awful, few of us got sick several times. This place was way overbooked for its capacity with not enough supplies and amenities. Not enough room to sit during meals, not enough pool chairs nor beach chairs at their tiny beach allowance at the neighboring beach hotel.
One other issue that needs to be mentioned is the false advertisement of the roof top infinity pool on the Whala!Bavaro’s website, that is actually located at the next door hotel!!! We went and got kicked out, how embarrassing! They wanted $50 per person for a day pass!!! It was 5 of us. Unbelievable!!!
Surrounding of the hotel and the whole neighborhood was equally unkept, muddy, old road with sink holes that flooded every day, no sidewalk and terrible smells and trash everywhere! My family flew in from Europe and it was a very special trip for us! So very sad 😢

Property is very poorly maintained, the room in photos on listing does not remotely match the room received.

Food is thoroughly unseasoned. Staff was all very unpolite for lack of better words if not completely rude. They act as if the are pained to help with anything.

Shower head was broken, and took 20 minutes to get water hot. Ceiling in bathroom was collapsong.

Thugs loiter around the entry and threaten guests. Security is lazier than mall cops unless it is policing the actual guests coming in or out.

Bartenders act like pimps for escorts that should not even be in the hotel.

Avoid booking at all costs.

The moment I walked into this hotel, I immediately walked out. It was nothing like what had been advertised online. The photos and descriptions were misleading, and the reality was disappointing enough that I chose not to stay at all. I ended up booking another property instead, which was a much better experience.

This facility should be removed from Expedia, as it is damaging Expedia’s reputation. The property was completely misleading compared to what was advertised. The moment I walked in, I walked right back out—I did not stay in the hotel at all. Because of the false information, I had to spend more money booking another property at the last minute. I am requesting a full refund, as I did not use the facility and was misled by the listing.

Hotel claimed to be Adult only on web site. Lots of kids. Next let down we were told a bus would transport us to hotel. No bus. Pay a small taxi 40 US 10$ tip to transport 5 adults in small car after no one answered phone at Expedia desk at airport was vacant nor did hotel answer the phone after 1 hour delay we gave up and paid cab. Next we arrive to resort only to be told our second reservation was lost. Even though I had written confirmation of advance check in. Finally accepted again after an hour of nonsense a single room with Queen size bed. Two people in bed. Three people on floor with blankets only.

Definitely not as advertised. Charged for use of safe daily which it said it was included. Also didn’t stock anything in rooms even though it said liquor dispensers. Had to beg for water bottles for our room. Leaky ceiling. Food was not good. I’m not sure what most of the meat was. Warm wine at bar. Very small beach area with few chairs. One towel in hotel room for showers. I’m very disappointed.

I had a very disappointing experience with this hotel. I arrived with a fully paid reservation made through Hotels.com and showed my payment receipt, yet I was told there were no rooms available and that the hotel was fully booked. The staff said they never received my reservation and claimed it was not their responsibility, blaming Hotels.com instead.

The manager, Gilberto, was rude and unhelpful, showing no interest in assisting, taking responsibility, or offering any solution. I was left without accommodation despite having already paid in full.

Because of this situation, I had to pay for a taxi, book another hotel at a higher price, and deal with unnecessary stress. In addition, the hotel’s facilities did not appear well maintained, which further added to the negative experience.

This situation was not my fault. A hotel should honor a paid and confirmed reservation or properly assist the guest when an issue occurs. I am requesting a full refund of my money, as I did not receive the service I paid for. Due to the lack of professionalism and poor customer service, I would not recommend this hotel.

This place was way better than expected. The room was super nice, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The pools are also very nice—one is in a bit of an odd location and is on the smaller side, but still enjoyable overall.

The food honestly exceeded my expectations. I had full plates every day during the five days I stayed. Everything was served hot and well kept. I work in food service, so I was a little nervous after reading some other reviews, but I had no issues at all.

The only real downsides were that towels are only changed on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and our toilet stopped working a couple of times. That said, maintenance came to fix it immediately each time—before I even had a chance to call.

Overall, for the price and what you get, I would definitely book here again.

The food was good. Just not a variety of dining options. We like to dress up and have a nice dinner unfortunately that was not an option. the snack shop and the reservation area are the same. No atmosphere.
The nicest area, which is very beautiful and very cozy was catered to family, which is fine but doesn’t make sense. It has the amazing beds but no one can relax or sleep with screaming children around.
The staff warmed up eventually, but service is not a reason to stay. They do the minimum and don’t seem happy about even doing that 😕 but maybe that’s just how is is there.
Make sure you don’t get a room by the exit door they tend to slam most of the night.

Very disappointing stay. We arrived at 7 AM exhausted and asked for early check-in, even offering to pay extra. The front desk refused to help, even when we asked at 1 PM just to store our bags in just 1 room till they have all 3 rooms ready.

My aunts’ room had a broken toilet, a shower that stopped working, and a sink that wouldn’t drain. Staff came a few times but barely tried and never fully fixed anything. We kept reporting the issues, and the front desk either ignored us or said to wait until the next day at 3 PM for a room change. They told us to use a bathroom outside the room after telling them how are my aunts going to use the bathroom and shower …

The problems were only fixed after we had to get loud and confront them in front of other guests — only then did they finally take action.

Food was decent, drinks were watered down, and the dining staff ignored us often.

Overall, terrible customer service and very poor responsiveness. I do not recommend this hotel.

Moldy smell throughout the room as soon as we entered. Our room flooded from balcony overnight. All the stuff on the floor got wet. My mom even slipped when packing up our stuff. We informed staff but they took over an hour to send us smaller room for only 2 person for 4 of us. They didn’t give us key card for room; they said systems were down and they will change the room later. Limited menu breakfast to Caribbean food. We had to leave and book another hotel instead of staying 4 days.

In general i will want NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. i have been in Punta Cana many times and this is the worst place that i havce seen so far. The experience was terrible. We had to change to 4 rooms to finally be in a room that was satisfactory. The 1st room the door will not open, after 1 hour of waiting, that when they decide to get us another room. The 2nd room was flooded with water from the bathroom. One of my bags and clothes were ruined. The 3rd room, the AC didn’t work properly, we slept very uncomfortable. All these in less then 24 hours. The staff showed no empathy and never showed urgency. The worst experience I ever had in a resort.

The worse experience! The seaweed that’s piled up in front of the beach. It’s stank really bad and was there the whole 4 nights I stayed at this hotel. Who knows how long’s it’s been there but by the looks and smell of it, def a long time. We had to walk over to another beach to be able to enjoy the water and not smell the rotten piled up seaweed. This hotel is not ocean front. You need to go through another hotel in order to access the beach. The staff was horrible from the moment we walked in to check in the person took a long time to attend to us and when she did she got distracted with another guest who already being taken care off. By the way this hotel is full of Columbians and I guess because I’m not Columbian I wasn’t a priority. The food was horrible and it made my stomach hurt. The restaurant that was included was part of the snack bar and when we reserved we were served snacks! The whole staff were not friendly at all! The bathroom advertised on Expedia did not look like it at all. See pictures of sink and handle! The water from the bathroom smell like seaweed and poop!
The entertainment was trash. One of the bar tender was super drunk and served my cousin the wrong drink twice and even after she call her out on it she had an attitude. The uber driver who picked usup to drive us to the airport noticed how uncomfortable and upset we were and said we are not the only ones who leave unhappy some have left super sick with rashes stomach issues etc. Just don’t!!

Nada mas entre al barrio el olor a aguas albañales estaba en todos lados, y cuando entré a la habitacion, mi unica decision era que me quedaria primero a dormir en el auto que en esa habitacion, horrible los muebles viejos obscurity y no se repiraba un ambiente seguro, al final no me quede en el hotel ni 5 minutes y me fui , mi sugerencia e expidia, siendo yo un cliente de tanto años es que retiren este hotel de sus ofertas ya que no cumple con los minims standards de un hotel, mas tarde hare un claim para mi reembolso.

I did NOT like it at all !

I hated everything about the food. The first day I went to the snack bar, there were flies everywhere. It was such a turn off! The food at the buffet was not good either, I just left and bought food on the road or at Bavaro Beach next door. The bathroom was so hard to look at. In between the tiles were brown and look like they years of dirt and soap scum trapped and the pipes were rusty and clearly old and needing replacement. The lady said it was “wear and tear due to cleaning” WHAT!!!?
I showered in cold water because there was just no hot water. On the last morning I had to leave the shower running for 20min before it got a little lukewarm.

Shout out to Erick though, he tried his best to make me feel comfortable and even got the restaurant to give me a whole cake for my birthday.

Overall, this hotel needs some serious upgrades to even be considered anything more than a 2 star hotel.

A la carte restaurant is terrible, slow. Buffet mediocre and unless you are early they don’t replensish the food. Few staff speak English. Tiny amount of cocktails on the menu and all made with cheapest liquor and often don’t have the ingredients for all of them. Can be very noisy. Small pools. Only upside is a couple of the bar staff are great. Beach is terrible covered in seaweed and smelly so cannot get to the sea. Sister hotel charged $50 for a day pass

Very nice sensory the beach is across the street. This spot is more for adults if you’re looking to just chill and vibe this is perfect. Not really for young adults. There was roaches in our room hopefully they get that checked out. The front desk said it’s everywhere when we asked for a room switch.

All inclusive was limited to one type of beer,the rest you had to pay.food was limited,no hot water,shower water smell bad,ac malfunctioning,check in too long and only one person at the counter.

the room that I got has mold in bathroom,sink cabinet was falling a part,no toilet paper in the room.
not only that they add tip at front on your bill

I loved how sweet our room service lady was, she was the best staff. It was a very small resort but I still enjoyed my time there. There were various pool options and a beach just a few feet away. It felt very safe and everyone was friendly although some staff looked like they didn’t want to be there.
