The proximity to the beach is outstanding - miles of oceanfront.
Rooftop pool and recliners are ideal and always available.
Staff were responsive when an issue was brought to their attention. Johanny (sp?) was very attentive and understanding.

Beautiful pool, restaurant (tacos was amazing) and beach view. the rooftop is my favourite spot. had a bit of issue with the shower. shower divider is not close enough to stop the water from coming out, floor might get wet. just ask for extra floor mat. and the shower handle was a bit loose/ unstable, but these are just minor things for me. overall i enjoyed my stay, and i felt safe inside the hotel. securities are everywhere. Staff were very helpful.

Beautiful hotel with balconies looking straight at an amazing beach and beautiful water. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Katherin greeted us on our arrival with a beautiful drink and friendly smile. The pool and view from the sky Bar on the roof was also amazing. Adults only was a plus too! There is another pool and bar on the ground level. You can never have too many bars.

everything was fine but the property is deceptively small and the food options are very limited. Limited even more so by the fact that they don’t actually have the options open or available as posted. Staff is limited and the adult only beach is separated by a series of potted plants from the kid friendly side… not exactly a kid free experience

They need to train their waitstaff better. I probably picked up more beer bottles and trash then the wait staff did . They Would bring a drink and walk by six empty bottles. The sand is full of cigarette butts and bottle caps. Did not like their food at all. Only eat breakfast there every morning. Try the Italian restaurant. It was not very good. Plenty of restaurants in the area though.

I use an electric scooter and this resort couldn't accommodate that. I couldn't enter the registration office, nor could I carry my scooter up 4 more stairs to get to an elevator to the room. Upon check in, she not only charged us for that night but also for the Jan 18-21 stay.

Contam com 2 restaurantes e um serviço de alimentação variado que conta até com lagosta, maravilhosa inclusive, e bebidas para consumo na praia e piscina. Fornecem toalha de praia, os funcionários são extremamente educados, solícitos, bem humorados e eficientes...muito diferente das equipes que encontrei no Bahia Principe e Paradisus Palma Real, onde parecia que os funcionários iam te dar um tapa na cara se vc pedisse algo hahaha.

I don’t like the policy of having to wear arm bands. I don’t wish to shower and sleep with it on. I could have carried it with me instead. The room was okay but the sink plug was stuck and didn’t drain well, it lacked sockets to charge and the entire toilet seat was broken.

STAY HERE!!!!!! The hotel is clean and very beautiful. ALL of the staff were amazing and Joanna the beautiful receptionist was so accommodating and sweet. Expedia made so many mistakes with my booking that they refused to fix and I was traveling with my baby girl and was extremely scared but Joanna made sure I was okay and I cannot thank her enough! This hotel is located next to all the best things to do! It’s right down the street from Yeya’s Dominican restaurant which has the best food I’ve tasted while I was there. Please go and make sure you tip the staff!!! Trust me they ALL deserve it. This will be my home away from home whenever I’m in Punta Cana

My water went out the one night, so I had no water in my room from about 7p until I was going to sleep. They did get it back on, but that was a little stressful because I couldn't use the sink / toilet / shower and had no idea when it would be back on.

This was not an all inclusive, and I ate lunch there twice and dinner once, and it really wasn't great. I was hoping to just relax and not leave the property, but i had to go out because the food just wasn't good.

Our stay at HM Bávaro was truly amazing! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with drinks and fresh fruit, and throughout our stay, the staff even refilled our wine and fruit twice — so thoughtful and accommodating. The team went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. I especially want to mention Johanny, Noemi, and Alejandro (staff at Whala) for being so helpful and kind.

The food was excellent — from the continental breakfast to the delicious meals at Tamashi (Japanese) and Anima (Italian) restaurants. The beach view was stunning, and we loved relaxing at the rooftop pool. On lazy days, the indoor pool was the perfect retreat.

The only small thing I’d mention is that the bathroom could be a bit bigger, as water sometimes splashed onto the floor near the bed when showering. But overall, this hotel delivered an outstanding experience, and if we come back, I will surely pick this hotel again.

Beachfront: There is a guest designated beach area with seats and umbrellas that is well-regulated by security. No panhandlers. Room: I had an unobstructed ocean view with balcony. Bed was comfy. Blackout curtains. A/c but couldn’t adjust vents and had noticeable mold. Balcony retained water on rainy days due to no drainage. Balcony has a towel/bathing suit drying rack. Decor: newer but IKEA grade. Bathroom: tiny. Pools: rooftop and main floor. Bars at each. There is pick for a lot of excursions just next door to the hotel. Cons: Room service was terrible. Called the hotel. The told me to call the restaurant. Restaurant said they would send someone to my room to take my order. Nobody showed up. Silly system. There is a beach bar next door that bumps loud music into the late evening hours. There is a market and there are some restaurants nearby but they are packed and often there is a line down the street. There are no sidewalks and the roads are terrible especially when flooded from rain. My biggest complaint was that the hotel wanted to fumigate my room during my stay. Thankfully I was in my room when they came by to do it so I could turn them away but this was inappropriate and unsafe in my opinion.

The toilet wasn't working the 3 days we were there. They kept blaming me for throwing tissue down the drain. It happened even after we stopped flushing tissue. They did not change the room. Every time we used the loo- we had to go downstairs, to the front desk as the telephones werent working. The good things are the breakfast, the location.

The hotel is NOT as advertised. It is not an excellent rating; far from it.
I don't want anyone else to think this is a beachfront option as it is not. The smell of the seaweed on their private beach along with the standing smelly water that surrounds the property is intolerable. They try their best to hide the horrific smell with air freshener, but it's no competition for the powerful stench. The rooms are very tiny and ours faced an area where trash was kept. We tried walking around the neighborhood but it's unsafe and flooded with water. We unfortunately had to leave after one night, and find other accommodations as the smell made me physically ill. On a good note, the staff were all kind and the breakfast buffet was very nice.
The roof-top infinity pool is lovely, but the smell from below wafts up and ruins it.
So, beware of this place if you have a desire to not smell sewage and seaweed.

My husband and I stayed at HM Bavaro for 6 days. For the most part, we were happy with our stay. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. A special shout-out to the gentleman server at the Sky Bar that always greeted us with a smile and remembered how we liked our coffee every morning. The breakfast was always delicious and the roof top bar and lounge area were GREAT to cool off and relax. The area has many restaurants/bars.

There were only a few things worth mentioning (to me) that I didn’t enjoy:
1. The area a few blocks from the hotel STINKS (literally!) There is always standing water and smelled like old garbage. If it rains while you’re staying at or near HM Bavaro be prepared to walk in ankle deep water that doesn’t drain for days.
2. The lack of sidewalks. Oh, and traffic is crazy. I’m from a Manhattan and I love to walk (even in 90° F +). I was disappointed that there is only a sidewalk on 1 side. Also, how are the narrow streets 2-ways?! The traffic can be crazy at times… especially during rush hour.
3. When checking in, the gentleman at one of the desks asked me to provide him with a copy or detailed breakdown on my phone of my hotel itinerary. This was after I showed him my passport. I have travelled to several countries and states and no one has ever asked me this. I found it odd and annoying. Wouldn’t he have this info in his system? :/

Overall, the stay was nice.

Pros: rooms are clean, staff are friendly and professional.

Cons: hotel pics are not reality. Hotel is near a boat area. So your sea view is with boats and construction trucks. You may luck out and get a room that’s way off to the side that you don’t see too many boats but a good portion of the hotel is situated behind the boats. And the beach itself was not the prettiest.

The food was not good. Either overly salty or tasteless. Only one breakfast item on the menu I liked but everything else was tasteless. Was not worth paying the extra money for it.

The area was not the greatest. When I arrived the first day it had rained and the road was flooded. So I couldn’t walk to many places and also didn’t really feel safe. As I had a lot of random men approaching me either trying to sell me stuff/ and or hitting on me. So it took away from the relaxing experience I was seeking.

The place is really nice and the beach as well. Staff in general are not the kindest ones. I did get the opportunity to do early check in, that was great, but I didn’t get the bottle of wine that was included on my booking, until the last minute after requesting it 4 times, at the end we didn’t drink it, we just took it with us… There was noise in the morning because of some running water problems, we also have no water during the morning of our last day. Also we found cockroaches and asked the staff member to remove them from the room but that never happened.

It was a good stay. My first time to the Dominican Republic and booked on a whim, so wasnt sure what to expect, but the country is beautiful, the people are great. Resort was good.
Pros: staff was friendly and accomodating. Naeomi, & Tomas really took good care of us. Staff went above and beyond with our requests. Breakfast buffet was good. Ate at Skybar everynight, and it was okay (dont rec. Burger). Bartender Tomas was just so amazing. Pool was great and very private. Views are amazing- thoroughly enjoyed staring at the ocean most days.
Cons: very noisy. Loud slamming doors, all night & even staff talking loudly outside in the halls at night. Skybar had a loud music night (it was Sat). the tourist boats parked out front blasting music on the beach (if you have an oceanview suite, its a problem). The boat music conflicted with the resort music & the restaurant next door, so it became so noisy, we had to go inside a lot. Beach was pretty dirty, trash all over on the private beach but they were very strict about children/people not staying at the childfree section (security was very, very, very good).did have roaches invade my room (they came out of the wall outlets) & there were lots of drain flies, which we remedied w. a little peppermint oil. staff addressed roaches. Lots of smokers! Area around does not have great infrastructure (sewer water in the streets, crumbling sidewalks), but there are some good little restaurants and grocery stores a few blocks away.

Had a great time here. Hotel is on a really nice beach. Beach view from the room was lovely. Food was good but not exceptional. Roof top pool was really nice and great view of the beach. Rooms were a little older but nice. Had to ask for room towels which I would have thought the cleaning ladies would have left everyday. Staff was nice. Daytime bartender by the pool was exceptional. I think the price of the room was a little high but I would stay here again.

A Perfect Weekend Getaway
I recently had the pleasure of spending a weekend at this wonderful location, and I can't help but rave about my experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff was nothing short of amazing. Their warm hospitality made us feel welcome and cared for throughout our stay.
The food was yet another highlight of our visit. Each meal was a delightful experience, featuring a variety of delicious dishes that catered to all tastes.
Additionally, the ambiance of the place was excellent, creating a perfect atmosphere for relaxation and enjoyment.
We wish we could have extended our stay, but we are already planning to return for a longer visit soon. If you're looking for a fantastic getaway, I highly recommend this gem!

Good staff. A bit expensive for the place but it is all about Domenicana. Among other hotels it was the most reasonable. Restaurants are good. Breakfast is excellent.
