We had room 224. The overall staff service was great. We got to check in early and whenever we needed more toilet paper, the staff was very nice and gave us more. The hotel room was clean. Unfortunately during the stay, there were a lot of cockroaches (ipis) and we had to kill at least 3 a day.
The location was great as it was the center of station 2. It was walking distance to the beach and many restaurants and shopping.

Hotel was nice and friendly. Staff was on top of their game 24/7. Only complaints I have is this. First: that the WiFi only reached to the lobby and was worthless on the 3rd floor. Not impressed. Second: the breakfast was crap. The “protein” offered was hotdogs, fried fish heads and menudo. Every single day. You gotta keep it fresh and different at least every other day. As an American who LOVES Filipino food, I wished we had other breakfast stuffs like tocino, longanisa, even some fried baloney wouldn’t hurt. There was some other good breakfast stuffs but the protein is the most important along with rice of course. Lastly: it seems like trying to swim in the onsite pools were a headache. They wanted you to wash off in the wash area and if you’re a guy you can’t wear a shirt. Which is wrong and not fair to men who may or may not be self conscious. These listed items need improvement and to be refined for an absolute wonderful perfect week long stay in the most beautiful and coveted island in all of the Philippines. On a plus, the air on was awesome. Kept the room nice and cool all day long.

The two air conditioners in the room were not adequate to cool the area, we called the front desk and they sent a technician to replace one of the units. There were no window shades in the bathroom and needed to be covered with our clothes. The WiFi was weak and couldn’t be used in our room, we had to go to the lobby to use it. Breakfast was not good, precooked eggs, tasteless watermelon was the only fruit, really bad coffee and no tea selection. The second morning had a better breakfast (chicken adobo was good, bananas were the fruit selection and better coffee).

Me and my companions were expecting that the our room at La Carmela would have a hotel type of amenities. We were assigned to a top floor and and end of the bldg, and so much is lacking in the room, was it because I availed a promo rate thru Expedia? The hotel service, you have to wait for another 24 hrs to get your requested items.
Thankful to the front desk who assisted us, she was very accommodating.

AC wasn’t working, maintenance supposed to come and fix it, but never came. We had to open and use the fridge to get some cold air out! We requested to change beddings and they never came! Terrible room! It’s dirty my mom got sick it was so humid. Would never stay at this hotel ever!

We had some problems with the room but the staff was great and handled everything was fixed as fast as could be expected. The rooms was okay but it was very clean and the shower was great. No drinking water was provided in the room but there were water tanks in the hallways.
The food was mediocre at best and was the same every day.
The big plus for us was the location. It is right on the beach, right in the middle of station II.
Overall a decent stay and would consider going back.

This is my 7th time in Boracay and La Carmela was the WORST accommodation experience so far. Really disappointing - staff are incredibly rude, they laugh at you, refuse to clean your room, hotel amenities are of terrible quality and breakfast gave my entire family food poisoning. Customer service doesn’t exist in this hotel as they are also very racist. I’m Australian/Filipina and they would charge additional fees for almost anything to anyone who looks foreign. They purposely did not equip our hotel room with appropriate linen/ towels etc. and charged us extra when requested. I warn everyone to stay away from this place at all costs.

Because of the storm, no signal and the power keeps turning on and off within our stay. Also, i requested we check in early because of our early arrival, we have to wait 2 or 3 hours and have to bribe them to give us a room and not on our correct paid room. Breakfast was not great. I don't know, this hotel used to be awesome but now it isn't. Lights in the room is so dark, towels needs to be change as it looks like its asking to be thrown away. Airconditioning needs cleaning as it is not doing its job. All in all, our stay with this hotel was not pleasing.

Given the mixed reviews, I would say we had very low expectations at first. However, we were incredibly pleased with the service, the accomodation, and the location. We arrived during peak Halloween period, so during check in, there was a small delay due to influx of tourists checking in at the same time. Since we were a family who booked 2 rooms, the manager was kind enough to offer us an upgrade to their 2 bedroom apartment suite. Mind you, we were given a chance to check the room first before we accept the offer. For the 5 days we stayed there, all the staff were friendly and courteous. The breakfast and dinner buffet were average, but enough to fill you up. Location is its main draw, since it is in the middle of everything. However, be prepared for the flow of tourists staying at the hotel. All in all, it was a great stay and great value for money. Just don't expect 5 star services when you are paying a fraction of the cost. Room tips: Request for a room far from the restaurants, preferably 3rd floor and up. Room cleaning is as per request, better leave the key when going out and they will clean it promptly. Be kind to staff, they try their best to accomodate everyone even if they are under staffed. Who knows what perks they may provide you if you are nice to them (Buffet vouchers, Room upgrades).

I like the fact that staffs has their own designated places (almost everywhere) to clean/map the floor to avoid wet floors. However, I do not like the beddings, specifically the pillows and blankets. It triggers my asthma, cos I think they are not changing it. Thats why, not recommending La Carmela for peeps with asthma. Pls do book in a nice hotel than suffer here. That’s all thanks!

What I like with La Carmela is it's near location to the beach,
All staff that we encountered and the front desk personnel are all kind , but you cannot request for any refund or transferrable meals , maybe due to company policies,

We booked 5 rooms which were on separate floors. The rooms on the ground floor were very noisy, and the rooms on the 4th floor were very difficult to get to because there was only one working elevator. Breakfast was OK, but don't expect too much. I also don't get the design of the bathroom. Whenever you take a bath, the toilet floor also gets wet. Only shampoo, a very small piece of soap, and tissue were provided. Drinking water provided in each floor, but it takes forever for them to refill it when the water runs out. It also takes a long time for them to bring you towel replacements or extra toiletries.

Great location ,value for money just too crowded considering its rainy season, at one point we have to wait for spoon as they run out ,plates for breakfast can be improve as black plastic some are showing wear and tear. Aside from this we enjoy our stay as hey...this is boracay and who cares about other things when you have white sand at your footstep.
