The property location could not be any better. In fact, my friend from Belgium (a big Disney fan) was in for the World Cup and she originally had been wanting to stay at the Disneyland Hotel but I had the worst experience there and paid far too much for terrible service and said I would pick the hotel. I had stayed at the sister property of \"Camelot Inn & Suites\" before but had heard about the Tropicana from a blogger.
When we were walking thru Downtown Disney one night and she remarked how far the Disneyland Hotel was from the gates of Disneyland and California Adventure and how much closer we were. The Tropicana is literally the closest hotel to the gates. Good for days when we averaged over 27,000 steps.

The room was clean and my friend (who is terrified of bed bugs) did her check and even she said she was impressed. Is the hotel brand new? No. Has it been remodeled? Yes. Is it clean? Yes. Water pressure is good and water was hot enough for me to ease my bones after all that walking.

The team at the guest service desk were friendly and welcoming. They also conveniently stored our luggage so we could drop it and get into Disney right away and then check out and store it again so that we could spend every last moment in the parks.

Thank you for everything! We would for sure come back and stay again next time.

You’re definitely paying for the location more than the amenities. The location is fantastic and the hotel is just fine. The beds are comfortable enough but the room had a weird almost damp smell hence why I took off a star.

The rooms smelled horrible. Everything seemed dirty and poorly cleaned. There was an infestation of flies that came out of the shower drain that was really gross. Only bonus was the location is close to Disneyland. At $500+ per day its a ripoff

Location, location, location!!! Easy on/off freeway access, 5 minute walk to the Disneyland Gate, a dozen restaurants and even a movie theater. Valet service was very attentive and professional.

We stayed at the Tropicana Inn & Suites because of its proximity to the Disneyland parks. It's just a short walk across the street, making it easy to head back to the room for a break during the day.
Our room was clean, and the beds were comfortable, which made for a good night's sleep after long days in the parks. The hotel is more of a motel-style property, with room doors that open to an outdoor walkway, so it's worth knowing that if you prefer an interior hotel layout.
We were also able to check in early for an additional fee, which was convenient since we arrived before the standard check-in time.
Overall, if your main priority is staying as close to Disneyland as possible, this is a great option. While it doesn't have the feel of a full-service resort, it offers clean, comfortable accommodations in an unbeatable location.

Loved how close it is to the park. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Pre check in was really nice as we were driving in and were set to arrive early. The pre check in allowed you to put in an estimated time of arrival and if you were early base on how early it sent you a quoted early check in fee you could agree to and pay. That was nice for us. Check out was also online on your phone it was quick & easy.

Location, location, location! We live just far enough away from the parks that we often get a hotel room so we can drop into bed after a long day of walking, but I've never splurged on any of the hotels this close to the entrance before. It was so worth it! We literally only used it for a shower and sleep, so I can't speak much about anything else, but it appears to be well maintained, and the staff I interacted with were all very kind. We will stay again though!

We had an amazing trip and staying here was what helped make this trip perfect. This is not a five star resort but the staff made you feel like it was. Room was clean and beds comfortable. The location for access to the park was great. If your looking for a clean place to stay while you play at the park this is it. To top it off, you can watch the fireworks on the third floor.

The staff and the car porters were great and the rooms were ok but for the price you are paying for it being across the street from Disney and after a long day it worked for me. There is a Mexican restaurant a few doors down that was wonderful. I probably would stay there again on our next trip to Disneyland.

Clean and big room. Lots of plug ins. Loved the huge vanity separate from the tub and toilet so multiple people can get ready at once.
They have an early check in fee that I've never had before, that was a con. We were only an hour early due to flights from out of country and the room was ready anyways.
The coffee in room was also terrible and placement of the pot made it hard to use. We had to move it.
Those are very minor complaints. Would definitely stay here again.

Our stay was very convenient being across from the Disneyland parks. Once entering our room, there was a musky odor either from just the room carpet or the cleaning supply scent. I had to buy air freshener or spray some perfume to cover the smell. I also asked for room service on the swcond day of stay but only towels were put on bathroom counter and trash was taken out. No bed sheet change or vacuumed floor. Im not sure if I will stay here again. Good location though.

The kitchen is a lot smaller in person than pictured but it served our needs. There is a tiny dining table in the kitchen that is bolted down so cannot move. There are two chairs with the dining table. There is no full-size refrigerator, but there is a mini fridge in the kitchen and also a mini fridge in the bedroom so that was helpful. There were plenty of utensils, knives, plates, and glasses available to use.

It was very clean and the staff was super friendly, same as the valet parking staff. We didn’t hear any noise from any neighbors at all and we stayed on the top floor (my kids are sensitive to sound). We enjoyed our stay very much since it’s right across from the park and we saved so much by not having to drive to and park at Disney. We will definitely come back and stay at this hotel every time when we visit Disneyland in the future.

We booked primarily for the location and the kitchen. It was a 10 minute walk to the parks which was great after a long day of walking. Parking was very crowded as they squeeze in every car so don't count on your car being by your room. We wanted a kitchen and while it had enough utensils, plates/bowls, and pots and pans, there was only one sharp knife, no pot holders for using the oven, dish towels, or a dish drainer.

The room was great and just what we needed. My kids loved the pool area and the hot tub was huge. The parking situation though could be better. They do valet parking in half of the parking lot, so self parking is very limited. There was only one open spot when we checked in.

Nice place to stay especially if you plan to spend most of your time at the park. Rooms are small if your coming as a family and could get very cramped of you plan to spend substantial time in them. Other than that is a nice hotel located right across the street from the main entrance to Disneyland.

The staff was friendly, but we were very disappointed about our room the 1st one we had on arrival was dirty had hair in bed and shower they switched us rooms, 2nd room same thing, then they moved us to the other side a 3rd room, it was somewhat better until we found large bugs in the sink and around the trash cans, we were refunded a whole $50 dollars, it was convenient for the park but very disappointing for the price we had to pay,will not stay there again

Overall our stay was great. If you’re coming to Disneyland and proximity is important to you, this property is hard to beat. Very close especially after a long day.
My only complaints are that 1) there is only ONE elevator for the whole property. Our room was on the side of the building that didn’t have direct access to the elevator. So, if we used it, we’d have to walk all the way around to get to our room. We decided to just carry the luggage up the stairs.
2) the shower felt very small/narrow. It also felt as if the shower was uneven, like you’re leaning to the left side (I assume that was because that’s where the drain was, but it was a little weird.

The staff and cleanliness were top notch in my opinion.

The stay was fine and the room was fine. My major complaints would be that they couldn't find my reservation when I got there and it took them 30 minutes of searching and then eventually going into the hotel.com site to find it. I don't know why it was such a struggle and it stressed me out that we weren't going to have a place to stay. Then one of the evenings when we got back from Disney, our door was not latched closed. The maid had left it open when she changed out the towels, so that was stressful, but luckily we had our any valuables in the safe so nothing was stolen. Also, they do not make beds up during the stay. They only charge towels and take it garbage.

The staff gave us new towels every day but didn't set the bed while we were out, which is a minor detail. Otherwise we were happy with the facilities. It looks like they are slowly updating the rooms to laminate flooring which will be nicer than the carpet.

My only issue was there was no USB plug in for phone chargers. I have stopped traveling with the block as every place I’ve stayed at in the past several years always has one. The little store on property had a block for purchase but just an FYI to future visitors, bring the wall block for your charging cables!

Room was very clean and cute. I’d say for me the bed is too hard and I woke up with a sore back BUT I need to sleep on a cloud to feel comfortable. Check in and out was easy and quick. Best part is the proximity to the Disneyland and California Adventure parks. It is easily a half mile to cross the street get past security and through the esplanade to the park gates. And that’s minimal compared to other hotels that claim they’re across the street from the park. With how much walking you’ll do all day save yourself the painful walks back to a further hotel.

Really easy check-in and friendly staff, valet parking was super convenient, room was beautiful, comfortable, and spacious. It really is a great locations, but the hotel is a bit noisy and we were on the top floor. Being a likely frequent spot for Disney visitors, guests were noisy when they returned from their day in the park and the design of the hotel acts like an amphitheater. The first night there was a baby in distress outside of a room for more than 15 minutes and I called the front desk and they seemed completely unaware of the situation. I even wondered if I should call the police. If it wasn't Grad week in Disneyland, it probably would have been quieter.

Location is why we stay here. Steps from the park entrance. Rooms are clean. They were doing Reno’s while we were there but noise wasn’t much and we weren’t there during the day anyhow so it didn’t matter. Used the laundry room. It was also clean and nice to have onsite. Staff were super friendly and check in and out was fast. Will stay here again. Definitely recommend.

You can't beat the location - great for accessing Disneyland, but the rest was just whatever. I was really hopefully with how wonderful the reviews were, but upon staying there, it was really just a \"blah\" motel. They had a heated pool, but it was extremely crowded most of the time and located in the middle of a parking lot. There was a lot of people smoking cigarettes around the property as well. The room was very basic and the inside of our room was extremely humid no matter how long we had the window open for. I also found quite a lot of hair leftover from a prior guest, so I didn't feel like we were staying in the cleanest place. In the future I'll be going back to staying at the usual property we go to.

Pros:
Pool, hot tub, clean towels all days we stayed.
Cons:
Parking lot being sold to non-hotel guests for $48.50 limiting parking for hotel guests. We grabbed last spot on check-in day, stayed two nights and never moved. They ran out of spots. Greedy hotels always trying to make more money. Hotel was quite packed!

Wish lobby had filtered water station. Most hotels have them. They have small convenience store attached, charging absurd rates for any items.

Overall- pricey for what you get. Stay elsewhere for half costs!

When you’re tired and your feet are sore after 12+ hours of walking around the parks, being just across from the main entrance is so nice. The hotel is extremely convenient. There are restaurants in very close proximity. The crosswalk to Disneyland is less than a half block away. I would stay here again.

I enjoyed our stay, check in was easy and quick. The staff offer to check in early for a fee if your room becomes available which is really nice. The staff are also friendly and helpful. We had to ask for help with a plumbing issue and the maintenance man was there immediately! I have nothing but good things to say about the Tropicana! One suggestion would be purchase added blankets and pillows. We asked for additional (2) pillows and another blanket because I get cold and were told the only extras are the ones in the small case already in the room. The issue I have is that blanket is so thin and my husband sleeps with full AC that I was freezing ! I had to use my coat and sweatshirt to cover up with just to me warm enough to sleep without wearing dull clothes lol so if you are reading this please offer added blankets!

They dont change the sheets everyday, or at least every 2 days. We stayed for 4 nights. Also the toiletries shown on the photos do not match the actual toiletries provided: which was a bar of soap by the sink and a bottle each of body wash and conditioning shampoo in the shower. Not enough towel hooks to hang towels from.

My sister and I drove up from San Diego and stayed one night after doing a day at Disneyland. I've stayed at many good neighbor properties over the years. The location of this hotel can't be beat, staff was friendly, room was clean and comfortable. My only complaint is the noise. We could hear everything from our room (we were even all the way down so far from the street). We heard all the other guests, vacuums, tvs, music, showers, etc. I should also add that was with ear plugs.
