They were always very helpful the massage steam room the sauna and the swimming pool was fantastic. It was great that that was on the complex. The room was very tidy and nice on the fourth floor overall very enjoyable and a very comfortable stay very friendly.

The trip was good! The smell of cigarette smoke was in the hall way most of the time. By the end of the second week it appeared to be better.
The accommodation were nice and clean and the staff were friendly. The breakfast buffet was great a lot of variety, but the same every day for two weeks.

Like: Proximity to the hospital (our reason for being there); clean except for the carpet in the room; room well furnished. Didn't like: Congested area, hardly any sidewalks; limited dining and entertainment; balcony has solid fence over a meter high, can't enjoy the view unless you stand; swimming pool & hot tub are placed behind the spa area! You need to walk through the spa corridors, dim lighting, and the pool itself has dim lights to feel as part of the spa, almost to discourage access by others.

There are also local shops within 8-10 minutes walking distance and numerous eating places around the hotel, as well as a Metro station. DANGER OF ELECTROCUTION - ELECTRICAL FAULTS
I was electrocuted by the shaving mirror's light switch. It was awful. I could've died. The cleaner knew this was a problem when it was reported to her as a warning before she went into the room. Reception were useless. They accepted liability, they also know, and offered me a cup of coffee for my trouble. I am exploring options for the immense distress and psychological anguish I have suffered and the loss of my normal function in my right arm. Absolutely mad situation.

However, I didn’t like how the housekeeping staff could enter your room without permission. I would definetley reccomend this hotel to anyone. The only concern was the customers. Reason i am adding this, if you dont have any issues seeign people who had an surgery (nose and hair), you will be fine. Because half of the geusts were staying there who is having an surgery. I had a very unpleasent stay at this hotel. I had stayed more than 11 nights and my sheet did not even changed once. Also it was a shame to see holes on the sheet and duvet, which is not acceptable for a 4* hotel. I do not recommend this hotel for leisure, because everything is wonky. The service is awful. I have asked a bottle of water from reception, it did not arrive at all, even though I asked several times. I had similar issues with cleaning. I had close contact with my fiance who had covid at that time, I wanted like to have minimum contact with others, since I do not speak Turkish, my faince’s family ordered food to my room. The hotel harrassed me each time when the food arrived. I do not say they are very helpful and understanding to their guests who are under special circumstances. Apparently you can bring take away to the hotel but cannot get delivered.

I was quite satisfied with the property. I have only two suggestions: the restaurant menu should be a bit longer and the lighting in the bathrooms should be improved. While I respect and approve of the hotel's wish to conserve energy, I did wish that I had enough light to do my make up. There was almost no difference between the make-up/shaving mirror being on and being off.

The room I was at had a strange smell and was quite noisy (there was a pretty constant engine noise on). The first day I mentioned the smell and they did go and cleaned and sprayed something, but it was still there. The facility and staff are fine, nothing superb nothing bad. We slept for 7 nights in the hotel.. The room is really clean and nice. But the staff is not really friendly as I guess they are not really fluent in English. And for the location, it's quite far from the ferry station (in order to go to Europe side), you have to go by taxi or by bus. And the menu for the breakfast are the same for the 7 days, not even slightly change.. I would recommend this hotel if only you have a business trip near to the hotel.

The hotel installations are very good. The neighbourhood is OK, there a couple of restaurants near by but in none of them the waiters speak English... It is close to the port and has an easy access from the road. Definitely a good choice if you need to stay on the Asian side.

Experience was overall very good. Booked this hotel for the Istanbul marathon weekend and because it was relatively close to the start line (by the Bosphorus bridge). However, even with this in mind, the hotel is miles away from the centre of Istanbul with no bars or many restaurants nearby (i.e. had to get a 25minute taxi to go watch football somewhere). Fine if you don't mind buses or taxi's. Hotel itself was lovely.

The Mercure is an amazing hotel. We did have problems with our air conditioning the first couple of nights and they immediately moved us. The staff was outstanding.
