MY ROOM WAS SMALL, BUT IT WAD OK FOR ONE NIGHT IN MATSUMOTO. EVERYTHING WAS MAINTAINED WELL BUT NEEDS UPDATE. STAFF WAS VERY HELPFUL AND POLITE. BREAKFAST WAS MEDIOCRE BUT WE PAID VERY LOW RATE SO COULD NOT EXPECT GOURME FOOD.

no AC open window, dirty, old, light at dresser made the entire room warm and unbearable. I complained to front desk and someone came in telling us opening windows. We stayed on 2nd floor facing street and it was noisy. Whenever we put the room card in, the light generated extra heat inside the room and we had to constantly remove the card to cool down the room. We had a restless night there.

Convenient for public transport and the castle was within walking distance. Unfortunately i was given a smoking room which stank like an old ashtray. The room was heavily nicotine stained and even after using freshner it still smelt.the Free breakfast was limited in choice and not topped up, so first in best selection. The staff are friendly and helpful and i will stay here again but i will specify a non smking room.

I stayed for 2 nights, room was tiny but we knew that. Breakfast was inlcluded and was ok - bread and pastries and also rice and soup. As close as it gets to matsumuto station and the cities nightlife. A walking distance from mataumoto castle (~15mins). Overall good value for 1-2 nights.

I stayed here for two nights for my visit to Matsumoto, the Japanese Alps and the castle. This is a typical Japanese business and tourist Hotel. I had a single room which was perfectly adequate for my stay it was a typical small room with a hard bed but not too hard. The breakfast buffet was not particularly large compared to how it is not theirs but it was adequate. Included in your stay is a free trip to the local Mineral Springs Mountain Resort affiliated with a hotel and free admission. The staff are eager to please. This place has my recommendation

We stayed in eight different hotels throughout Japan of similar price range. This was the only one with zero amentities. No slippers. And tiny! And hard bed which some may like. But otherwise served the needs of a place to stay next to the train station.

Just one night there. Made use of the complimentary shuttle service to get to Hotel Shoho where Ace Inn guests could use the onsen facilities. Make sure to check with the front desk for the bus schedule. Breakfast was a standard fare typical of most biz hotels in Japan. Sufficient choices and delicious. The hotel is just right next to the train station and it is within walking distance to many tourist spots. However, the room is super tiny and the bed is super hard. I could still smell cigarette smoke even in a non-smoking room. The contential breakfast is ok but I probably will try another place next time.

Great location right near the JR station. Matsumoto is very walkable. To the castle is about 20 mins or so. Comfy beds, good wifi, free breakfast included. It had quite a fair range of things, I've seen much less on a free buffet, so no complaints there but much appreciated. Staff lovely and professional. Would def stay again!

The Hotel is reasonably priced, across the street from the Bus Terminal (to Kamikochi) and JR Train Terminal. It's walking distance from Matsumoto Castle and an Art Mmuseum. On the way to the castle are Great restaurants whether Japanese, German or Italian. There was a food truck selling micro brewed beer next to a oven baked pizza truck. The German restaurant also had many German beers. There are fun neighborhoods to stroll through to eat and drink and there are many antiques (more flea mkt than antiques?)

We stayed here for one night. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable; some may find the beds a little too stiff. The service was professional. The breakfast was basic but good quality and filling. The location is perfect being next to the station. Overall, a great hotel for a short stay in Matsumoto.

Ace Inn is very conveniently located for those traveling in to Matsumoto by train. Located right next to the JR station and close to the downtown area filled with great nightlife and amenities.
We arrived early and were able to leave our bags until check in. The room is very standard Japanese business room style hotel. Small space, but it's only a room to sleep in. We took advantage of the cheap laundry with included washing powder. The laundry also has an extensive magna library which was cool!
The problem with the Ace Inn though is the bed. I like a firm mattress, but this was ridiculous. It was firmer than the carpeted floor it sat on. The pillow was incredibly uncomfortable. I woke up from a terrible sleep with a bad back and sore all over. I'm not sure if we just had a worse than normal mattress in this hotel, but it was completely unacceptable.
If the bed was of a good standard, I would have rated his hotel highly, but unfortunately I can't recommend it to anyway

Reasonably-priced budget hotel. The hotel also offers and provides FREE PARKING 5-min walk from hotel (as well as their pay parking at the hotel). Really tiny room, semi-double bed is hard and small for two. Slept well anyways. Breakfast is basic, but inluded.

We got in late around 11pm and front desk was friendly and helpful. Room was small but perfect for wife and I as we travel light. Hotel provided toothbrush razor hair care qtips, pretty much anything you may have forgotten. Bed and pillows were firm and I slept great. Close to Matsumoto castle, 15 minute walk through cute streets and shops.

Very nice business hotel. Better than expected. Located next to the station and only 1k from the castle. They also have much larger rooms for a small extra fee. We could even ship our luggage from the hotel to Kyoto (2 days).. Always coffee and tea. Okay breakfast, mostly Japanese but also many kinds of tasty bread.

列車の不通で自宅に戻れず、急きょ当日午後に予約しました。松本駅前ロータリーのすぐそばで交通の便もよく、駅前にコンビニも遅くまで営業している飲食店も多いので、食事場所には困りませんでした。ホテル内は分煙化されており、アメニティはオートチェックインの際に必要なものを取っていくようになっていました。室内のWifiも順調で、総じて快適に過ごせました。
