We loved the room. It was clean and spacious. We had a window that opened up for a nice breeze and view of the city. We loved the staff. They were very friendly and courteous. We definitely loved the location. It was so close to the old town that we could easily return to the hotel to eat, to rest, or to grap a jacket or umbrella. The breakfast was really good, too.

The staff were very kind and courteous. The location is incredibly central - easy walking distance to the train station and all attractions, shopping, restaurants, etc. The rooms were perfectly fine - but definitely a bit run down and could use a finer cleaning. For the price one can’t expect a 5-star hotel though so definitely a good value for money.

Check in is convoluted; because they insist on 3pm check-in, even though the room is ready, the result is a big queue, over crowding in a small lobby area. BTW, When you walk through the archway, there’s a big hole in the floor, watch your step.
Given they have until 3pm to clean, the room itself feels a bit grubby, for example, shaving debris/hairs all along the mirror edge in the bathroom, not very deluxe suite. No regular tea upstairs, only downstairs, no milk in the room.
Bed was comfortable.
The lounge downstairs is okay, only things in there are, sweets and cake, get something savoury in there.
My Mum become gravely ill whilst away, when I explained we’d be leaving a day early, the guy on the desk showed the empathy skills of a stone block.

Not an easy stay with heavy rain and wet clothes a

If it was not raining and our clothing and backpacks were not so wet, missing drying rack would have been fine. But, the heater in the bathroom to help dry shoes and clothes was not working. The bed was old and sheets were discolored white. Towels were old. We paid for breakfast and did not find out that it was continental style. No TV cable.

The dirtiest, smelliest place - it is a joke that it is three stars? I am shocked by the unkept, amateur state of this place- it was disgusting NOT even 1 star rating would be accurate. Worst accommodation I have ever stayed in- the photos on the website are very misleading and not accurate for the disrepair of this shonky place.

Very pleased with the location: literally 1/2 block from the main pedestrian walkway, not even five minutes to Les Halles, easy to walk everywhere. We got a studio unit and it was a good size for our three nights. Kitchen was just \"OK.\" Having a Nespresso was nice. Bedding & bed was also \"OK.\" Towels really too thin. Probably the biggest thing they need to improve is the carpeting in the halls & rooms which is way over due for a refresh. BUT all that said, we REALLY loved the location, security, and roominess!

It’s a great hotel with a city location.
Check in was easy and welcoming. Whilst the hotel and rooms are clean, the corridors are a bit dated with warn carpet.
The room wa# nice with a small kitchen. Note - make sure you clean and pack away kitchen bits or you get a 25 euro charge.
Breakfast is a selection of cold items. On check in you select your pastry.
Our room faced the side street which was a bit noisy. The fridge in the room also makes a noise every so often. And, the bathroom has a pump to remove water, so very noisy.
We parked a vey short distance away in town. Cost for 24 hours is 10 euro.

It is fabulously located at the very heart of Dijon. You can walk around and find everything from dinning options to unique shopping experiences. The suites are quite spacious but the WiFi settings of the Hotel are very strange and it got on our nerve for we had home office hours to fulfill. Overall we had a very pleasant time here and would probably recommend it to family and friends.

Great hotel, it is a little tricky to find due to the one way system. We were lucky enough to get a parking space in hotel car park. There is a car park around the corner if no parking is available. Staff were friendly. Our children loved the free drinks and snacks between 3 and7. The room was spacious and clean. Location is fantastic right in the centre. Would definitely stay here again.

Very nice hotel, I was with my family of 3 and we got a very big room with shower and bathtub, all necessary kitchen tools were available. Location is amazing , super close to all attractions and restaurants. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Nothing fancy but fair price for what you get.

Hotel very difficult to find. Reception small but clean and staff helpful. Carpets in corridors jaded and overall decor in corridors poor. Bathroom needed updating, Toilet very noisy and poor at flushing. Walls were plasterboard and filled holes apparent. In all was more a two star backpackers hotel and how it got an 8.4 rating is beyond me.

I had an upgrade in a refurbished studio on the 3rd floor and I was very grateful for it. It was very spacious with a small balcony on to the rue de la Liberté and I will book it again next time in Dijon. However, a relative of mine at the same hotel ended up with an old, small and smelly studio on the 4th floor with broken furniture and old mattresses in the corridor. So, I will very much recommend City Loft for their refurbished studios only. The location is great, the staff is friendly. The studio has a fridge and a kettle and you can make yourself a cup of tea. What not to like?

A Saturday stop over in charming Dijon.

Nice sized room,comfortable and clean.
Very well located in the old,mainly pedestrian,core of Dijon.
Parking is tough...be warned!
We arrived on a Saturday after 1.00,to discover that reception was closed from 1.00-3.00!
When we left the next morning at 6.30 am,it was also closed.
The town was humming that Saturday,absolutely full of crowds and lots of free music performers all over the downtown core.
Not sure if it was a regular Saturday event,or something special.No-one in reception to ask when we turned in for the night.
Downside was,those crowds created a lot of noise all night,as we were overlooking the street.
Drunks kept up their partying until the early hours!

Couple of things to know
It is right in the middle of old town with lots of one way streets, the address doesn’t take you to the hotel if you use standard navigation
Best call the hotel or drive to rue monges and then you have to drive thru a no entry sign to reach hotel. They have 3 parking spaces of their own which you can book in advance or there is underground parking just behind
They have a different suction flush system for toilets so you get a lot of thunder like noise in the morning when everyone is flushing, little bit annoying but overalll very good for its price

Best feature - nice young staff at front desk.

Despite booking and paying months in advance and arriving too early to be checked in we were offered a smaller studio with limited view. It was noisy - plumbing inside and street and people outside. We were there 4 days and apparently expected to make our own beds and ask for clean towels. Our room was not cleaned or made up for 3 days. We demanded the floor be cleaned and the sheets be changed on the 4th morning.The front desk was only manned for limited hours so no one to raise issues with. Very disappointing. This is a one-star hotel, not three. Coloured our whole visit to Dijon. Not interested in going back.

2 night stay here. Perfect location, unfortunately I didnt have a room with a view, I had a roof window pointing at the sky at 45 degrees. Great having the kitchenette. Air conditioning worked well, stayed in July, it was hot! Slightly dated room, which isnt important to me as long as everything is clean and facilities are in good working order, which they generally were. One exception, the curtains/blind were not in great repair, I dont like the light blazing in at 5am and waking me up, and i forgot my eye mask. I find curtains are often a problem at hotels, letting light in. I guess its these minor details that are overlooked in cheaper hotels. Overall good, would stay again.

Plan at least one additional hour to locate hotel and parking nearby in one of two parking garages. While Dijon's charm comes in part by the narrow one-way streets, neither of our navigation systems could get us there and hence we spent a lot of time circling. We eventually parked and found by walking. Also wanted to mention its proximity to a Carrefour so we were easily able to purchase groceries to prepare in our apartment. Room was large and clean but dated which was fine with us.

Central, affordable and comfortable.

We were advised that there was \"Minimal housekeeping\" but in actual fact there was hardly any housekeeping at all. I quite like that and if we ran out of anything (toilet rolls etc) it was easy enough to find someone to provide it. The receptionists were amazing and did everything including catering and cleaning as well as reception duties. All spoke English impeccably and were very amenable and courteous. See pic with H&M at the bottom and our room (the dome shaped structure) at the top.
Although the main entrance was in a side street, our room was actually directly above H&M. Heaven on earth for my teenage daughter. How much more central would you want to be?

Stayed two nights. Got a big room which was nice compared to ones in Paris. Lovely windows that opened out to street below.Also some cooking facilities but no tea or coffee in room. Wifi was not great in room. Intermittent. Breakfast was cheap ar 6euros.

Overall a good stay, despite an initial impression of shabby decor. But the kitchen unit was clean, and there was just enough crockery. A coffee pot, or jug, would have been a real bonus though. The view was lovely - I'd have liked the room if we hadn't had that.

Great location. Hotel has seen better days and there was a massive stink in the lobby area (not sure if it was nearby sewage). It was definitely dingy. Nevertheless, a great location and just fine if all you want to do is sleep there. Room was clean and it was nice to have a kitchenette. I did not have breakfasts there, so can't comment on that.

This hotel was a nightmare to find, best thing to do is find the parking lot and walk, it's on a one way street and your gps is of no use. This could be a 3 star but a 1 1/2 at best
It was adequate, check in gentleman was nice, first room was huge and the bathroom had no towels and hadn't been cleaned, back downstairs for new room.
These rooms are dingy and old, but clean, the pillows are horrendous and the sink has a weird vinyl overlay, this has a bedspreads and pillowshams a giant no no in the hotel cleanliness world. The wifi worked for 1.5 hours then turned off for the night, but was available at 9 am so you could book a hotel for Paris!
Hub opened the window and it pretty much fell off in his hand, it opened up to a courtyard that the higher rooms dropped their cigarettes into and if you were particularly inclined break into any of the hotel rooms on floor 2.
The towels were a light dove grey color reminding you of where you were and and how many bodies they have washed.
This is a step above a hostel, I booked online with Expedia they touted it as a 3 star in a great location, the location was fabulous, the rest was inaccurate, shame on me but I literally had 20 min of free wifi to find a hotel.
Great location if your on a budget or a student.

Wonderful Location

We were pleasantly surprised to find the hotel in an amazingly central location. It was walking distance to all the tourist destinations, and we found many stores and restaurants nearby. We were pleased by the location, but the hotel itself was a little out-dated. The rooms were comfy and we were allowed an early check-in, but we found our room to have a strange odor and the view from our window was a rooftop with empty bottles of beer and liquor (which made us a little uneasy, since said rooftop was connected to our building). All in all, I would definitely stay here again for the location and price are unbeatable.

An unpleasant stay

An uncomfortable stay in a tired run down hotel. I would suggest looking elsewhere for your accomodation. Despite central location it is in a pedestrian precinct & cannot be reached by car. The room was shabby, bathroom floor tiles severely cracked in many places & severe grouting removal from aged ware. The kitchen sink was cracked & crack oozing dirt & mould, most unhygienic in food preparation area. The foot covering at the end of the bed was filthy & appeared to have human stains on it. The room felt dirty & carpets needed a good vacuum at the edges. We felt uncomfortable in a grubby room so did not enjoy our stay.

Great Place to stay

This hotel located in the very center of Dijon, in old town. Location is very convenient - I would say Ideal!
It has small parking for a few cars which is also convenient if you travel by car. Getting to the hotel by car is a bit problematic due to its location - it surrounded by pedestrian zones, but it can be resolved.
There are many stores and restaurants and bakeries around it, so if you don't want to get breakfast at the hotel then you can eat out. That is what I did.
Hotel is in an old building and hallways / corridors and rooms smell a bit old, but if you don't pay attention to it then it is not a problem.
Room that I stays in was HUGE and had perfect view to the street of old town - room # 5. Bathroom was clean. Also, there was a kitchenette with electric stove, refrigerator, dishes, silverware and etc. - it was very convenient.
Staff was very friendly and nice.

I would recommend this hotel to any one and don't forget to request room # 5 :)

Huge apartment in a fantastic location

Much better than expected from the reviews. Nice welcome, huge apartment bang in the centre of town, with air-con. Saved a fortune cooking with fantastic produce from Les Halles market a couple of mins away. Would definitely stay here again.
