The room was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable but the room was very much showing it's age with worn furniture and peeling paint in the bathroom.
The hotel is, however, undergoing a complete refurbishment, so this will be improved soon.
The location is perfectly situated for the train station and the centre of town

The staff were lovely and the bar manager also friendly. The property is in need of renovation and I suggest sound-proofing should be a priority as other guests allowed their children to race up and down the hallway until late which affected our sleep.

Das Hotel steht direkt gegenüber des Hauptbahnhofes von Dijon. Dennoch ist es sehr ruhig, die Zimmer sind grosszügig und zeitgemäss eingerichtet. In unmittelbarer Nähe gibt es Einkaufs- und Verpflegungsmöglichkeiten. Das Statdzentrum von Dijon mit seinen Sehenswürdigkeiten und gastronomischen Optionen ist zu Fuss in 10 Minuten erreichbar. Alternativ liegt die Tramhaltestelle gleich vor dem Hoteleingang. Die Angestellten sind stets freundlich und hilfsbereit, ich durfte mit E-Bike soger über Nacht einstellen.

Our stay was great. The room was adequate except that the HVAC did not work. The location was prime, right next to the train station and a short walk from anything you might desire. I think I might have left my passport in the room. Could someone contact me if this is the case.

Roll out of bed to station

Great location for arrival on my first visit to Dijon. Quiet. Room fairly basic including a sitting area and tea making provisions but these were not replenished without asking at the front desk. I had miscalculated my stay but couldn’t add an extra night as they were full. Enjoyed a nice Kir in the bar which came with peanuts which were very welcome.

I was surprised to see that this was the room that I paid for at this price. The carpet was in awful shape and there were stains everywhere. The bathroom was not cleaned well and needed a serious renovation. I could hear every word that the couple next to me said through the thin walls. I would not stay here again

Not very clean - a bit run-down

The hotel is in a convenient location but it smelled and was very run down and dirty. Service was okay and we only stayed one night. I would not stay here again. The parking was full so we had to park at the train station not a big deal because it was close but wasn't convenient bringing our bags into the hotel.

This hotel is old and a bit tired but you get what you pay for. It was very clean and neat, staff friendly and helpful. A kettle in room is always a bonus to me. Great breakfast selection. Convenient location to train and 2 tram network. Bus interchange not far. Would recommend as good value budget option.

The only outstanding feature about this hotel is the area surrounding it. Opposite is a Chinese owned bar/restaurant with outdoor seating, the food is delicious, the hotel is located next to the train station. The rooms are ok. But the TVs are small, and the room could do with a return. The staff are a little rude, especially on our first stay, we were not told about the parking discount until our second stay by a friendly lady who pointed out to us we could receive a discount. It’s ok for a night or two, but I’d give it a miss for longer stays.

Hotel is near the train station. Room has faulty airconditioning, its so warm especially in the afternoon and evening. Each night that we return after a tiring tour in Dijon, our key card had to be brought down to the reception (didnt work to open the door every night). Breakfast is simple and just right for the price (€10).

The Wi-Fi connection was really bad. Our rooms were on the 4th floor which badly needs updating as the carpets are badly stained and the whole floor is faded and jaded. The reception staff were mostly pleasant and helpful as were the restaurant staff.

This hotel is very, very close to the train station. From the hotel you can walk to the centre of town and visit museums, churches and all historical cars. The location could not,be,better. The room was small ,for two people. The beds were comfortable and the room and bathroom very clean. The hotel has a buffet,breakfast, 9,50 euros,per person. I only used it one and used the coffee maker in the room. Wifi was terrible, intermittent in the room. Had to go to the lobby to use my iPad. It is not a,bad place to stay in.

Clean, cheap and easy access to everything.

The two nights we spent at the Campanile Dijon Centre - Gare were super pleasant, comfortable and clean. It is really conveniently located (a hop, skip and jump from the train station), which was a relief when you have 20-odd kilograms of luggage to drag along.
Everything is within walking distance, including heaps of food, shopping and sights to see. The tourism office is across the road so you can get your Owl guide. The room was very clean, spacious compared with some of the others we had stayed in and had coffee/tea making facilities (which, in 2 degree weather, is a necessity!).
If you're looking for somewhere cheap, clean and convenient, this is the place to go.

A management not taking their responsibility

The Hotel was remodeled at the time of our stay. No information was put out about that fact. Most everything was dusty and the construction noise startet early in the morning. I requested a price reduction (as it was stated on the desk of the improvised check-in). However, this was not meant for Hotels.com customers. A refund form was filled out. The Management was out of reach and left the poor clerk alone to deal with customers that were not very happy. However, to this date nothing has happened. Certainly the low point of a two week trip in France.

The photos on the website are very misleading as the room we were in was extremely poorly located. We were on the 1st floor. Our room was not on the street side but in the back side of the hotel. The view out our window was of the back of the hotel, view of building in back, with a cracked dirty skylight the major point. Several persons were right outside our window having a smoke break so we did not open the curtain to get some light.
Room was very minimally furnished and the bed was very low off the floor. While it was close to the train station and the tourist areas I would not recommend this hotel.

The staff was unfriendly and incompetent. They tried to charge me twice for the room tax (when we arrived and when we left) and tried to make us pay for breakfast that we did not have. There was no Wi-Fi, as claimed, and nobody to fix it on the first day. There was a make-believe air conditioner that only blew around hot air already in the room. TV remote did not work, no fridge and no safe. The hair dried switched off after 5 seconds because of overheating. Tiny room with 3 beds in it. Tram noise all day and night. Renovation noise and dirt everywhere in the hallways and temporary entrance through a brasserie.

Place was under renovation when I got there, so view from window was a bit obscured. This wasent a problem for me, as I was only in the room for sleeping and showering. Staff were very helpful and gave me some great tips of where to shop. Location is perfect, close to food, train and shops. I really enjoyed staying here.

Great location, just look right when you leave the train station and its a 1 min walk. The room was modern and comfortable. I couldn't find any faults, although if you are a light sleeper be aware the trams will probably go past below your window 7am - 10pm (approx). They're not that noisy though and you cant hear the trains at all.

Reconstruction going on during our stay meant curtains over the scaffolding outside our room offering no view out. No staff on duty at night to stop the hooligans banging the plastic sheeting around the scaffolding outside at 2 am

Right in the centre, perfectly adequate hotel

We were looking to stop over somewhere for 1 night, on our way to the alps ski-ing. Dijon was our approximate halfway point so seemed like a good idea. We were 3 males trying to share a single room, with single beds to save money, and found it quite hard to find a hotel to accommodate us. Then we came across this little gem of a hotel.

The hotel is right in the centre of the city, right near the train station (Gare de Dijon Ville). Also you can park in the train station car park. Then the hotel will give you a substantial discount on the parking ticket.

The Hotel staff were great offering any advice we needed with ease, at all times being polite and courteous.

The room itself was just what we needed, 3 single beds, a TV, brew making facilities, bathroom, good shower, on the wall shower gel/shampoo, towels.

The only downfall i could say is we were at the front of the hotel and there is a tram stop right outside, and they do a little *ding* noise. It wasn't a problem for us, but could see how it could be for someone, with this in mind you could request a room not facing the tram.

To sum up, the hotel was perfectly priced for what you receive. Would i stop again, yes most certainly.

The room was small but clean and efficient.

We were traveling to Dijon on pleasure, spent the day checking out the Owl Trail and all of the amazing architecture. I would return to this hotel next time I am in Dijon.

Make sure you ask for a room overlooking the courtyard, not the railway station and tramline square. The room was very stuffy, even with air conditioning low, but open the window and in comes the noise of trains, trams and cars. Also the most expensive of all the budget level hotels we stay in across Europe, at £67.80 per room, and another £9.90 for a moderate breakfast. Only single occupation, but still had to pay £10 extra per night for two clean dogs. However, lovely receptionist went to 'caress' them when we went out for the evening.

Worst customer service and dirtiest hotel

I prepaid the room for 2 nights. We could not drive close to the hotel because there is no place to park in front of the hotel to unload so we parked a few blocks away, and dragged our bags to the hotel. I told the receptionist that I had to use the bathroom, and would come back to give her my credit card for the city tax, which is 1.7 euro. She smiled and nodded, but her colleague Christel chimed in and said harshly \"no, you have to give us your credit card to guarantee the city tax NOW.\" I said, \"I need to use the bathroom now and will come back to give you the card. I have paid for the room and will not run away from the 1.7 euro.\" No, she said rudely. This is the first incident. We went to the room, did what we had to do and left immediately because we were worried about the card might get a ticket. We came back at 5:30, trying to wash my daughter in the tub, and realized that the tub was very dirty. My husband went to the receptionist andChristel said curtly, \"why didn't you tell us the tub was dirty when you checked in. There are no cleaning people now, and here are some napkins and clean it yourselves.\" When we showered, we realized the wall in the shower had not been cleaned for years, and the grimes changed the color of the wall, which my husband thought was the texture of the wall at first.

But it's right across the street from the main station, so transportation is easy if you're not up for walking. A large municipal parking garage is also across the street and available at a discounted rate through the hotel.

A good base from which to explore Dijon

This is the second time we have stayed here, 2011 and June this year, the tram system is now complete and is an easy way to get about. The hotel is still great and no issues with noise. The beds are comfy and bathroom is good. A good base right on the doorstep of the railway station. My only advise would be; DO NOT EAT AT THE PIZZERIA RESTAURANT next door! Service is appalling, the guy insulted my wife & friend, I had to be restrained.

Right opposite the station, so very easy to wheel cases across if arriving by train. Not noisy--entrance on street with no cars--only very quiet trams.
Room adequate for short stay but not much space for clothes on a longer stay.
We only had one breakfast and one evening meal on site. We thought the nearby cafe/restaurants gave better value.
The tourist Office had plenty of info. and the walking tour of the town was very informative (even in the pouring rain!).
Plenty of interesting museums and churches to visit (free). Lovely old architecture.
Ideal for a short stay. Good tram and bus system.

Ideal stop off for station and town.

Stayed for just one night, you can usually rely on Campsnille Hotels for a reasonable standard of service, cleanliness and comfort and this hotel lives up to that. Situated right opposite the train station so ideal for people travelling by train but there is a multi storey car park at the station so easy parking and at a reasonable price. The area is currently undergoing improvements to tramlines and roads surrounding, so can be a bit dusty and noisy, men were working immediately below my balcony until around 23.00 but with the doors closed I didnt really notice. Ideal stop off point and close to the town centre.

It did what it said on the tin. The rooms were ok. And the staff were friendly. There was no parking except in a railway station across the road and it was €12.20 for the night. Expensive I thought. The good thing was the location which was central and surrounded by bars and restaurants. Be careful about buying a beer in the nearby bars, prices are astronomical by our standards.

The hotel had all that was required plus a touch or two more - ie little butter cookies in the room. The hotel seriously needs to a facelift. It is more than a little worn and threadbare. We were comfortable, tho, and the train station is right there.

We were not happy with our stay. The hot water ran out by 7:30pm for 4 nights in a row. Wifi did not work after 6pm and night receptions staff most unhelpful. The room was small and ventilation terrible. If we opened the only window/door to outside it was extremetly noisy right by the railway station. Curtains did not stop the excessive street lights outside. Would not stay there again.

Room was clean, Bathroom fine, Location convenient. Construction on the street. Attached restaurant had good selection for lunch buffet. I recommend that you make sure the location of your room is not on the main street. With the foot traffic from the station, and the Pub across the street, I found it very noisy for sleeping.

Comfortable hotel at a great Location

The location of this hotel is superb, with access to the train station and historical city centre within 5 minutes. The hotel is a little tired and can used some maintenance work. The new bedding is great though. Large room too. Recommended.

Good value for money hotel

It is a good value for money hotel. Basic comfortable room. Hot shower. Comfy bed. All we needed for our weekent visit to see our daughter. Didn't eat at the hotel so couldn't comment on that.

Wait for thr Tramways to be finished

Hotel overall good but Dijon's City centre traffic is a nightmare because of the road/Tramways works started in 2010 and going on through 2013.

A good place to stay.

Hotel is good, unfortunately all the surrounding roads are being dug up at the moment, very confusing when trying to find the hotel. Good accomodation and we stayed in the same hotel chain in Nice as well. We'd stay again.

Very satisfied.

Happy with this hotel as it was right opposite the rail station and right next door to restaurants and bakeries. Very clean and comfortable so much so that we stayed an extra night. Dijon was a pleasant surprise, far exceeded out expectations. Good value for money, would go back there again, staff helpful.
