Unfortunately the Air-conditioning didn't work in the room we were in, so it was very warm and uncomfortable to sleep.
The breakfast was stale and inedible.
Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience.

I tried to move my reservation by one day. I didn’t want to cancel and thought i was giving enough notice to move it but they were not flexible and would not allow the change, or refund me my money. You would think customers would get better service than that.

We did not appreciate how we were treated by the staff. The pictures on expedia showed a room with two large double beds. The room we got had two tiny twin beds crammed together. I pointed this out to the receptionist, who simply did not care. There was also a cockroach in the bathroom.

I was shocked to spend over 100 euros / night on a hotel that was this dirty. The bathroom was pretty disgusting and it was clear that it had only been spot cleaned. There was hair on the counter & marks & stains all over the bathroom

Very good staff, clean hotel but all based on a lie, the swimming pool and sauna is in another hotel while the picture showed them into the hotel you book. Added to that, the hotel with the swimming pool and spa is of lower ranking!!!

the staff was very friendly and helpful. I reserved a parking space and they let me leave it there the next day when I had to work. exceptional. walking distance to town.

The hotel has a very convenient location near the train station. Amazingly, a very quiet room was available. The room itself is very good, with extremely comfortable beds. The lobby could use some update, and there's no elevator from the lobby to the first floor (elevator available to higher floors). Breakfast very expensive, I thought, but otherwise this is an excellent place to stay.

Staff were friendly and helpful. We were given a handicapped room which turned out to be relatively bigger than the standard rooms. I like the hotel’s push towards reducing waste by supplying soap and bath gel dispensers (instead of the small bottles); however, I would not call this a negative, but, more of an interesting piece of information: We tried to follow the rule about leaving towels on the rack if you want to reuse it, but, the housekeeper changed them twice in a row.

We had a family emergency and had to leave the hotel a day early. The clerk at the desk, I do not remember his name, could not have been more helpful and kind to us. I would stay here again because of the staff and the location, across the street from the train station.

I booked this hotel having read the information on the site indicating that a child under 12 would be allowed to stay in our room free of charge once no additional bedding was required. My child is 5 years old and often sleeps between us in a hotel room, or when we go visiting family. However, when I arrived to check in I was served by a very rude and unfriendly member of staff who was clearly unhappy that I had not booked a triple room instead - even though he had none available. When I told him this, and that the hotel site indicated that there would be no problem he said that he would have to charge me 'something else'. Again I pressed him on the information on the website and he reluctantly let it go. His final parting shot was to wish me a very sarcastic 'good night's sleep'.
This episode left me with a very bad taste in my mouth, and affected my overall impression of the hotel. It is a real pity because the area is pretty convenient (if a little seedy, like a lot of hotels near rail stations) and the rest of the staff were very friendly.

Great location and value

Just an overnight stay on the way to Southern France. Hotel was very clean, great value and good location within easy walking distance to restaurants, shopping and sites. Reception was very helpful. Secure underground parking was a nice bonus. If you use SatNav you may not find the street the hotel is on because it is a pedestrian and tram only street. Search for the adjacent street.

Strong recommendation.

Overall, I strongly recommend this place (if you're paying less than €100 per night). They do have a lot of competition within walking distance of the station, but this is a very strong option: the rooms are small but well-equipped, the shower is excellent, and they did a nice job of brightening up the hall and stairways with a peculiar paint-job. Obviously, the location is excellent for both the train station and the architectural core of \"the old city\" of Dijon.

Friendly hospitality-location @ Dijon rail station

We chose this hotel because we arrived via TGV train from Paris plus our barge cruise started in Dijon. The hotel staff were extremely helpful & made us very welcome.
The room was small but clean, modern & well equipped. The breakfast @ 12 Euros each was a good value buffet. Would recommend this hotel to the value conscious traveler.

Upon check in they had a problem with the rooms at original lication we booked. So they sent us down the road to othee location with a \"too bad\" attitude. Second location was literally next to train tracks. Room waa beyond small and very noisy all through the night. We would not stay here again

my wife and I had been extremely happy with most aspects of the hotel until the last night when the air conditioning failed. The day had been unusually hot and our room was equally so. When we figured that the air conditioning was unserviceable and requested assistance, we got nothing other than hollow promises of a fix. Even pleading for a fan resulted in nothing until I became a bit more assertive than usual and one was borrowed from an adjoining hotel. Promises that the maintenance crew were on their way proved to be fiction and we left early the next morning, glad to bout of the building.

Great central spot

This was a terrific location to be right in the center of town. The staff was nice and very helpful. Parking is tough in that area and you do need to call the hotel direct and reserve a parking spot. (We didn't but the hotel steered us to anther place that was fairly close and gave us a discount on parking!).

You can see the white sign for this hotel as you exit the train station in Dijon. That made it very convenient when we arrived carrying our luggage on a rainy day. The rooms are tiny but very clean and well insulated forom noise. The staff were very congenial and helpful and everything is within easy walking distance.

Hotel was wonderful, parking was the only minor issue, if you drive in, call about parking or park at the train station and walk over. The hotel was very clean and comfortable! The staff was friendly and accomodating. Within walking distance of shopping, restaurants. We would stay here again!!!

Good, Reasonably Priced, Convenient Hotel

We stayed one night at this hotel. As others have pointed out, there are 2 Novotels, this is the one on the left as you leave the station. It is only a block from the train station so, if you have luggage, you don't have to haul it far. We arrived early and the staff was willing to hold our bags in storage for free so that we could tour the city. The staff also made a reservation for us for dinner that evening. The hotel room is very basic. We found it clean and more than adequate for our one night stay in delightful Dijon.

The hotel is located near the center which makes it nice as it is walking distance to restaurants and shopping but we arrived by car and it was hard to find the parking and it was not right by the hotel so we had to log luggage. The rooms were fine, basic but fine. beds were fine as well. no breakfast avail.

We flew from US tp Paris, then took the TGV tp Dijon before stopping. This hotel as exactly what we needed ... a small but reasonably quiet room right across the street from the train station. We paid attention to other reviews and got a room away from the street (they are installing a trolly line on the street, so that side is very noisy). Friendly, helpful staff.

Dijon - overnight

We were going with another couple on a barge cruise through Burgundy and Dijon was the starting point. We decided to arrive a day early to see Dijon and to relax before the trip. The hotel is very well located, clean and comfortable and priced right. The only negative would be that the free internet in the lobby wasn't working and there is a lot of construction going on in the city to install a new tram system near the hotel. Overall it is a good choice for a short stay.

This is a very hotel. It is cheap and you get what you paid for, but no less.
The service is efficient and friendly.

There are some tram works all over Dijon, and the hotel has difficult access because of it, but would be an ideal location once the works are done.

Conveniently located hotel next to train station

This hotel was well priced and convenient next to the train station. However, the construction of the train line on the street meant an early wake up so request a room on the opposite side if this bothers you. Also, the cleaning staff were rather noisy from about 8am with vacuuming, opening and closing doors, etc. Again, only a problem if you are a late sleeper. Staff were kind and helpful. The owl's trail walk is a good way to see Dijon in a short time - pick up a brochure at the Tourism office for 3.50 euros.

Great location, across the street from the train station, but without the sound of trains, and minutes from downtown/oldtown area. Construction is still going on (Aug '11) but doesn't start until 8am or so. A few rough edges (no blinds in bathroom let light in in the morning, maid slamming doors outside ours at 8am or so. AC and internet included, breakfast isn't, and rooms are big by European standards. Good bakeries in the areas, so all in all, not a bad choice.

A very functional hotel

The hotel is located across the street from the train station, so if you are touring via train, this is perfect. I thought it would be noisier due to the location, however, I was never stirred by the sound of a train. Dijon is small, and everything is walkable from the hotel, location of restaurants are nice and close. The room was very 'dorm like' with no real atmosphere. Very functional, but not quaint.

Because is across from the train station, the sorroundings are not beautiful. However, very close to the center of Dijon. Dijon is beautiful and having the train station so close helped since we were going to other cities. If you plan to stay more than 2 days in Dijon, I recommend another hotel that is further away from the train station. Hotel and area are safe. Hotel is nice.

Cet Hotel ne mérite pas un 4*, je suis habituée à l’hôtel best western mais celui là est vieillot, par exemple dans la chambre de nos amis la chasse d’eau coule sans arrêt, et dans notre chambre, les serviettes de toilettes sont tachées, le ménage est bâclé…par contre je mettrai un 4* pour les personnels qui sont très sympathiques, et l’emplacement

Staff was extra friendly, 10/10 for the young man working in the lobby. Breakfast was good and the staff there was also extremely nice. Only negative remarks we had was paint smell in the corridors (they happened to renovate during our stay) and some night time construction work on the rails right outside our window (bad luck and not fault of hotel - of course you should consider these things when booking a hotel close to train station with a tram ride going right next to the hotel).
