Perfect for short stay

Dijon itself was the highlight of our stay. The hotel is decent enough, quite modern and clean. No real complaints. Underground parking was great but if we had arrived 30mins later there would have been no spots left. Bit of a walk to old town but not that bad.

Our room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. The breakfast offered a great selection of food. Unfortunately, we didn’t have the chance to use the outdoor pool due to the rain.

The staff were really friendly-and helpful.
It’s only a short walk to the centre which is great.
The immediate area felt a bit 60’s ‘new town’ and disconnected from Dijon’s historic centre but it’s easy to walk there.
Had parking under the hotel which was super useful.

The hotel and reception staff were excellent however the manager of the restaurant looked at us a though we shouldn’t be there. We waited for around 15 mins to be served by the woman behind the bar and we were the only people there. Not a good experience. We have stayed there before and would again but someone needs to have a word to the restaurant staff about service.

Hotel Mercure was a nice sized hotel with relaxing grounds attached. I enjoyed a glass of Crément outside in the sun by the pool and felt quite relaxed.
The room was well laid out and I had everything I needed.
It was about a 15 minute walk to the old town, and I felt it was worth the walk for the large quiet space to rest and sleep.
I also ate at the restaurant attached to the hotel. Impressive.

Good choice with a pool.

Everything was good. In the morning from around 8 am there was a lot of noise coming from the adjacent room which might have been the kitchen. But we were up at 8 so it was OK for us. Interesting fact - lobby and rooms are newly renovated and look great. But the hallways look terrible. Strange choice to renovate 90% of the hotel and not 100%.

The hotel is easily accessible and relatively modern though a bit out of the centre of the city. The subterranean car park is OK for very small cars but not designed for anything bigger.
Covid precautions are excellent. Masks, handgel and plexiglass are everywhere.
Rooms are smallish but modern and reasonably well appointed. It was curious to find that the tissue dispenser was hidden beneath the sink.
Cleanliness could be better. Superficially the room was clean but we found on the shelf beneath the sink two large bags of makeup inadvertently left by the previous occupant. If cleaning had been done properly these would have been noticed - but they hadn't.
Check in and out was efficient and friendly by bilingual staff.

Disappointed stay

Booked hotel for air conditioning but was told air conditioning does not work in October ( not summer). Instead told to open windows if too hot. Room was stuffy and hot so windows were opened. However, since we were on second level, the traffic plus people noise were unbearable esp trying to sleep. We did not sleep well. Disappointed that hotel did not mention about the unavailability of the air conditioning. Also, reception was not friendly and unhelpful.

Ideal hotel for our stopover for 2 nights in Dijon on the way back from the Alps to Calais. Helpful staff, comfortable room and we made good use of the pool in the lovely weather. Staff recommended 2 places to eat, both of which were excellent. Easy access to the centre, we walked it one day and too the tram from the Auditorium to the Place D’Arcy and walked around the centre from there. It is a beautiful place. Only shame is that the hotel doesn’t serve light snacks in the bar but the food in the restaurant looked fabulous.

Staff were very helpful. Parking easy walking distance to Dijon and on a tram line. Lift direct from car park to room. Restaurant staff very good but my steak was chewy and not edible. Paper cups in room and when we asked for real cups we were told Accor the owners did not allow real cups in the rooms. We paid for upgrade for a free mini bar that was not restocked until we asked for it to be. Accor obviously are only interested in making money and not in customer service.

We stayed at the Mercure for 6 nights in Dijon and the staff were fantastic, room was comfortable and clean. However given that it is a 4 star hotel and owned by the Accor Group I do believe that only having paper cups and plastic cups in the room when they had a Nespresso machine was a bit bizarre. I understand some people prefer the paper cups but give people the option. We also had to pay extra for \"a pillow menu\", extra comfort bed & mini bar that was not replenished daily. Limited range of toiletries that can be found in any 2 stay hotel and toilet paper not replenished on the second last day. One tends to wonder what they are paying for in a 4 star hotel!!!!!!! The Accor Group only appear to want to make money and don't really care about customer satisfaction.

A beautiful hotel walking distance from Old Lyon

A beautiful elegant hotel with lots of charm. The rooms are well appointed with all the comforts of home one would expect experiencing a hotel of this caliber. The staff was top notch. Attentive, kind and thoughtful. Helpful hint: Experience either lunch and dinner at the Paul Bocuse Institut; reservations a MUST.
The hotel is a close walk to great shopping and dining and the old part of the city.

Location good but there is work to do

This hotel is a good base for visiting Dijon. It is a ten minute walk into town or a three minute tram trip. There is a tram stop just opposite the hotel.

Breakfast is entertaining; food is only replenished when it has completely run out, plates, glasses replenished when there is nothing left. The food generally is of good quality....when you get it!

Our room had a separate toilet which had strange yellow stains on the wall.

The bed felt as though we were lying on granite, meaning that for the four nights of our stay we didn't get much sleep and had permanent back ache.

Mercure have a policy of not providing cups to go with the drinks making facilities. Instead you get paper cups - in a four star!!! Ask for proper cups and glasses. There was a dispenser of liquid soap by the bath, not terribly classy.

So, this place does the job, but it is nothing special. The swimming pool is nice, reception staff are friendly. Would I go again? No.

1. We requested a luggage stand from reception they told us they didn't have any.
2. There were small black flies in the bathroom.
3. The Nespresso machine was located on a shelf which left it inoperable because you couldn't lift the arm to insert the coffee. There were no instructions on the machines operation.
4. I called laundry service 3 times the day of our arrival and received no answer. I called at 8:30AM the following morning and received no answer. When I called reception to have someone pick it up I was told it needed to be in by 8:00 AM. The form said 9:00 AM so I insisted. I was told I needed to take it down to the front desk.
5. The restaurant was very busy and the staff was minimal and overworked.

This is a great value for money hotel with FREE parking and that counts for quite a lot. The room was spotless, very spacious and comfortable. Although on a busy roundabout and close to the Tram Stop it was very quiet with good soundproofing. The staff were all very helpful and spoke perfect English.

This hotel was just what we needed after an approx 450 mile drive on route to the French Alps.

The satnav is useful to find it.

It rained, the hotel was full and the restaurant which we did not eat at though which I understand was excellent was quickly swamped with reservations.
Suggestion is if you wish to eat at the restaurant on site, confirm it on arrival. Otherwise, the location while not in the centre of Dijon is great if arriving by car and is a short tram ride (2 stops) at 1and 1/2 Euro to the centre (5 minutes). The tram during the day comes every 5 minutes and evening at 9 p.m. seemed to come every 10 minutes.

Two night stopover on way back to UK - hotel clearly set up for business users. As a result, it was spacious, very clean and well organised. Restaurant food was superb - well above hotel standards elsewhere - although a little on the pricey side. Worth taking the 40 euro menu in order to have the trolleys - one of cheese and one of desserts. Have as many [or as few] of each of these as you like. A couple of tables obviously had challenges going on as to the number of each they could eat. Quality of food was great. Breakfast buffet well organised - from 6.30 am as business users may need this - and lots of choices. A little expensive, but worth it to get the day going properly. This was our second visit to Dijon and therefore we had no real need to go sightseeing, but did have a decent walk around the centre on the Sunday before the heavens opened for the rest of the day. Lounge and own room comfortable enough for this to be no problem for us.

I booked this hotel as a treat to myself on my driving holiday and I was not disappointed! Very comfortable throughout and only a short 15 minute walk from the centre of town. Check in was from noon and although my room wasn't ready, they immediately put me into another available room. Breakfast was great with plenty of choice. Would stay again.

Ideal stopover for UK holidaymakers

We stay overnight at this hotel in Dijon every year on our summer drive over from the UK to Italy and Switzerland. The hotel perfectly meets our needs for this purpose - clean, comfortable, 24 hour polite staff on the front desk, decent food (including room service) and reasonably priced. And, like most hotels on the Continent, dog friendly. Plus secure underground parking is available. Highly recommended.

A most comfortable place to stay

I was driving solo to Geneva to meet daughter and family. The hotel was easily reached from the motorway and offered free secure underground car parking. Dijon Centre Ville is a few minutes easy walk and is delightful. The room was spacious and most comfortable. Breakfast was exceptional.

We have stayed at the hotel four times but never eaten in the restuarant.After studying the menu on previous occasions have always eaten at one of the local restuarants. Decided to give hotel a try but cannot express enough our disappointment. For a small piece of meat and a few french fries, that was not well cooked,the price was extortionate. Not value for money. Will stay at hotel again but will definitely eat elsewhere.

Good hotel, close walking to most places

Hotel Mercure Clemenceau Dijon is in a nice quiet area close enough to the old town for an easy walk. The staff are very friendly and speak good English. The rooms have been renovated and everything is new, clean and modern with the typical look of a hotel room anywhere in the world. What the hotel lacks in French charm it makes up for it in comfort and efficiency.
The pool area, which is only open during summer months, is large enough for people to enjoy the weather and have a swim or lounge in the deck chairs. The outside restaurant/bar overlooking the pool is also a great area to sit and relax. The bar staff are friendly and accommodating.
We did not eat the breakfast or dine in the restaurant. Both looked appealing.
I would stay here again if ever in Dijon.
