I liked the cleanliness, breakfast, parking, and reception staff. However, the breakfast area staff was noisy, talking to one another loudly and nonstop, not allowing customers to have a comfortable breakfast. The same applies to the room cleaning staff. They show up early and make the same noise.

This property did just what it promised. A clean room, good shower, good breakfast, free parking. The hotel is a good base to see Pisa but it is approximately 2.5km to the leaning tower and so a good walk, especially in the heat.

It’s a good base and I would recommend staying here for the purpose of visiting the town

The hotel appeared, old and not very clean. The pictures are much more modern than the reality of the rooms. The room we stayed in had a massive crack on the window and as the room was facing the road, we could hear traffic all night long. The hotel is quite a distance from the centre and probably not the best for sight seeing. Area around the hotel also wasn’t the best. Felt a bit ropey late at night.

Breakfast was great with plenty of options. Room was outdated and pretty small, but bed was fairly comfortable. Shower amenities were lacking, i'd recommend bringing your own shampoo/conditioner/body wash. The front desk staff were very nice and helpful.

Unfortunately, due to a terrible multi-car accident in south France, we missed our plane and couldn’t get to Pisa. As unfortunate, the hotel would not refund any of our money even though we used nothing of theirs. Too bad they have no grace even in the face of a terrible accident.

Modern hotel 10 minutes from Pisa centre. Straightforward to locate. Plenty of car parking.
Clean spacious room. Effective air conditioning. Quiet. One of the harder beds on our tour. Front desk helpful.
Good quality breakfast buffet. Restaurant disappointing. Excellent alternative 400m up the road.
Free wi-fi with condition of accepting marketing.
Would stay again.

Hotel is situated close to bus station. But to airport you need take two buses.
It cost around 15 euro to go by taxi to airport
Restaurant and breakfast in the morning were good. Breakfast is 8 euro a day extra.
They working on some improvements in the halls. My stay was great but I will not give 4 stars for that hotel

Hotel facilities good, huge room and lovely restaurant. Hotel is a 20-30 minute walk into the centre of Pisa, but there is a bus stop outside if you don’t fancy the walk. Also easy to walk to from the train station. Our only negative was that our room was above the restaurant, so they was quite a bit of noise either from the music or breakfast trollies. Overall good hotel.

Not Really Close to Airport

I chose this hotel partly because it was advertised as close to the airport. This is not so. That said, i was highly pleased with the hotel. It is clean, modern, attractive, with spacious rooms and friendly, efficient desk clerks. I flooded the bathroom because I was ignorant about the use of European showers (take the hand held shower head off the pole before turning on the water to test for temperature!). The restaurant was attractive, but the food wasn't very good.

City break and great hotel

One of the best hotels in Pisa. We enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was great there were hot and cold options.
The room was with charactistic.

The quotation on the wall up the stairs is amazing. Friendly and helpful staff.
A cab was booked for 4:15am. And was on time.

There is a mansive supermarket round the corner and a lovely pizza polour.

I will surely return with my family again

This is really Bad ...

On arrival we were told that we have been upgraded to their 5star sister hotel. and we should go there. I asked why I was not informed and they had no response and they offered no transport or directions to this other hotel which was a 10 minute drive. The other hotel 5stars is a joke the doors of the cupboards were falling off mould in shower air con not working window hardly opened, room decor was poor, we had been given 1 towel and had to ask 6x to get another. we were only staying 1night and on our return we had a note on our door with both our names, telling us an excursion has been booked and we need to pay 540 euros immediately non attendance will be charged this made us angry so we went down to reception and ask how this could happen as we were going to a wedding the next day and this wasn't the hotel we booked so how did this person get our names. we found out that when they copied our id they gave that info to a tour guide along with the card details we gave on arrival. The guy tried to say this was just a misunderstanding and as we haven't been physically hurt he cannot see why we are so upset. this made me ask for the manager who we were then told was working in the morning. we had to leave early so we asked for the manager only to be told hes on holiday for the week. we asked who was in charge and the woman at reception said she is the senior person. we explained the situation to her and she said she was aware and cannot understand why WE are upset.

The hotel is located a bit far from central attractions in Pisa, but we were driving so this is not a problem. The room is large, tidy with everything you need. Four bottles of water in the fridge for free and the staff was very welcoming and helpful.

overall not bad.one big issue we had was whoever had cleaned the room left the window open allowing mosquitos into our room. we did not realize this because the curtains were covering the window. so we spent some time trying to get rid of these mosquitos. which spoiled our stay. so if you stay at this hotel check the windows when you arrive.

Hotel is not to far out of town but far enough to get away from the crowds. It's very clean with helpful staff, there is a restaurant to the hotel although they work independent breakfast wasn't included in our stay so we paid 8 euros for a complete filly breakfast.
The only real down side was the traffic out side it is on a busy road.

The hotel is located about 2.4km outside of the Pisa city centre, so a bit of a walk to see the sights. It is a quiet more modern residential neighbourhood and is safe. Hotel is modern and the rooms are nice and clean. Near the hotel are a few local eateries and cafe plus two nearby supermarkets. I like this hotel and will consider staying there again.

We needed a room for 2 nights on short notice, and the Hotel Repubblica Marinara was a truly great find. Terrific value, great location, comfortable room, free parking & wifi, friendly & helpful staff, and breakfast included. Can walk (1km-2km max) to the Leaning Tower, nice parks, street fairs, the Arno River, etc. Only 2km from Train Station as well. And Il Mio Capriccio restaurant just a few hundred yards down the street is GREAT.

Average hotel - 25 minutes from main attractions

This hotel is about a 10 minute taxi drive from the airport and without traffic, this journey will cost you about 12-15 Euros. The reception staff are nice and very helpful - particularly the one lady I saw everyday. The room I stayed in had a nice hard bed (which I like), good bathroom/shower facilities and was clean. More coathangers would have been appreciated. I arrived when it was very hot and it was disappointing that the air conditioning was not very powerful. I left it on during the day so that when I came back in the evening the room was a bit cool. On the advert it said you will get a welcome drink on arrival - now I don't drink so this wasn't such a big deal - but if you did I think you would be a bit dissappointed if you found that the welcome drink was a small bottle of water !!! There are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, but other people I met in Pisa said the same about their hotels - perhaps it's an Italian thing?? The wifi in the room is terrible and very slow - sometimes present and sometimes not - the TV played only Italian programmes so the lack of good wifi was more noticeable when I couldn't watch movies on my laptop without them streaming all the time ! Breakfast was moslty continental - only hot food was bacon and scrambled egg. I found the bread was sometimes a but hard - from the day before.... There is a restaurant/bar in the hotel but it didn't look very bar like - more of a delicatessant look about it. The food was okay.

Lovely, clean, modern hotel.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is approx 20 mins from the train station by foot, 30 mins or so to the leaning tower and 10 or so from the river. We really enjoyed our stay here! The hotel was clean and modern. We couldn't have asked for a better room. The hotel provided breakfast each morning and check out wasn't until 12. Overall fab hotel and one I would recommend to others.

For a 4 stars hotel the breakfast was kind of a joke, almost no choice of cooked food, not to mention that when we got there the cooked items were finished but were not replaced so we had to settle for continental breakfast which was just ham and cheese on bread. The staff were nice and the hotel was in lovely condition, the room was great, but we left a bit dissapointed for paying for that breakfast.

A Welcoming & Friendly Hotel.

The best thing about the Hotel Repubblica Marinara is the exceptionally helpful & friendly staff. We had 3 very busy days visiting Pisa, Florence & Luca & every evening we were welcomed back with a smile & a warm greeting. Nothing was too much trouble, from looking after our bags until check in, to sorting taxis, to providing simple food not on the menu for our daughter. The room was a good size for a family of 4, clean & comfortable. The little things were well covered, such as plenty of complimentary water in the mini fridge & shampoo & soap in the bathroom. The highlight for our daughter was the excellent buffett breakfast, especially the scrambled egg & Italian bacon. The hotel is within comfortable walking distance of both the Leaning Tower & the train station for going to Florence & Luca. We found the hotel to be an excellent , friendly base for a great 3 night stay.

The room was cheap and it showed. Our window didn't close. The heat worked only sometimes. The location is not central to anything, about a 30-40 minute walk to the tower. The hotel also charges a separate tax in cash, even though we had already paid via hotels.com. Overall, the room was OK. The breakfast in the hotel restaurant was 7 Euro extra per person and was quite good.

Stayed in this hotel while visiting Pisa on business.

Its a nice hotel - despite being on a main-ish road was very quiet.

Rooms and facilities are very good. Restaurant is very good.

A bit of a walk into town but not too far - took about 20-25mins to walk
to the Tower and Duomo.

we enjoyed our stay here although we did consider moving out. the impression when booked that it was close to the city centre not 25 - 30 minutes walk.. although a helpful receptionist informed of the bus.. the bar was closed when we arrived at 11am so there wasn't any refreshments available the restaurant did't open till 6pm. the bar area was like sitting in a deli store

Excellent hotel within 20 minute flat walk of Pisa centre. Good sized room at the rear of the building which was very quiet, ample sized bathroom with shower cubicle. All area's of hotel maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.
After reading some previous reviews the breakfast was a very pleasant surprise. Good choice of items including cereals, fruit, bread, croissants, eggs & bacon.
Staff very friendly & helpful.
If the 20 minute walk into Pisa sounds too daunting then the \"Blue line\" bus leaves from the bus stop directly opposite the hotel every 10 minutes, which drops you off outside the railway station. We travelled to both Florence ( 50 mins ) & Lucca by train ( 25 mins ). If you are planning on visiting this area for a short break then Lucca is a must see location, easy to get to & most things can be seen in a full day.
It is a €15 taxi ride from the airport to the hotel, which takes about 10 minutes.

Modern hotel which is approx. 20min walk from centre of Pisa.There is however a Blue line bus stop a few yards away which for 2 Euros(cheaper if you buy ticket at kiosk or shop) takes you into the centre of town in 5-10 minutes. The hotel room we had was quite large with king-size bed,TV(Italian prog. as expected),complimentary bottles of water(sparkling and still)provided each day and large well-stocked bathroom with walk-in shower.If there is a downside to the hotel,while it's in a pleasant area, it is not a tourist one which means that there is a limited choice of eating places around. The hotel has its own restaurant and bar which we did not use for breakfast or dinner.Instead we ate in town during the day and used the very good and reasonably priced Pizzeria situated about 100yards away from the hotel on at least two evenings. There is a new shopping centre across the road from the hotel but at present but has limited eating facilities other than a Japanese restaurant and a small cafe. If you want to buy your wine,bread,bakery items etc.there is a huge Coop supermarket about 5-10 min. walk from the hotel.Directions-When you leave the hotel from the front door, turn right and walk for about 100metres until you come to a main road junction.Turn right again and walk for about 5min. you will come to the Coop store on your left.You will find everything you need there!

We stayed here on our last night in Italy during our honeymoon. There had been a mix-up with our passports at a previous hotel, and so they had mailed them to this one. Thankfully they arrived in time, and the staff got them to us right away when we checked in. All the staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable, and the bed was soft. The only downside was that the location was not really within walking distance from the train station or the city center, but thankfully it was close enough that the taxi ride was not too expensive (about 12 Euro).

The food in the restaurant was good and the hotel staff polite and professional. The hotel was about 20 minutes walk from the tower of Pisa which was convenient. I would stay here again if I was in the area.

This hotel was a great base to explore Tuscany. Stayed here 7 nights with 2 children. Great hotel rooms well furnished and comfortable. Bus stop outside the hotel and frequent trains from Pisa Centale railway station to Florence, Lucca, etc.

Didnt get any further than the information desk.

Arrived straight from the airport, to be told the hotel had no water and hadn't had any for the previous 7 days. Informed we where being moved to a hotel 2 kilometres further away from the city which incurred us bus costs of 8 euros each way to Pisa for 2 days for my family of 4 totalling 32 euros extra expenses. Now when we booked we factored in distance as a criteria for hotels. Why didn't either the hotel or expedia contact us before so we could have chosen an alternative hotel. We contacted Expedia and they didn't want to know.They told us we shouldnt have booked into the hotel we had been sent too. Try it when you have just landed with 4 suitcases, a dont speak the language.

Value for money.

A one night stay at this hotel was pleasant and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and spoke good English (important if hopeless at languages such as me). My room was large and had efficient air conditioning which was important with 30 degree C heat outside. The downside was it is a very long walk to the more scenic parts of Pisa.

The breakfast was excellent with a great choice available and lovely staff member available to help if needed.

The hotel is on the Lan Blu bus route which can be caught from the main station. The station is a Lan Rosea bus ride from the airport. This is a much cheaper option than getting a taxi.

You have to take your luggage upstairs as there where no lifts.
At the same time room had very few lightes.

All round comfort

Superb staff, good food, the room was 'roomy' and the bathroom had everything you could need. All very clean and modern. no saggy mattress here! If there was an issue it was only that there was no drawer space, very minor detail. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Basic, clean but old hotel, not far from city

Hotel is an easy 20 minute walk from the centre of Pisa. The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly. The shower system and hot water is difficult to regulate and it takes a while to learn the 'tricks' to make it work. The televisions are old, with a separate decoder system which can also take a while to figure out, no international or English speaking channels. No tea, coffee or kettle in the rooms. No Iron and no possibility of borrowing an iron. No room service, no clock/alarm. One local cafe in the area open morning and afternoons, and one restaurant, otherwise you are limited to the hotel restaurant. Best to eat in town before returning to the hotel.
