The room was not ready when we arrived even though we arrived two hours after check in, we were given the key and upon entering the room realised that it had not been cleaned from the previous guests. We were given a complimentary drink and when it was ready we were short a bed for our group so had to go back to reception to get this sorted, which it was, the room was very small for 4 ( 2 adults and 2 children aged 11 and 13) to keep this in mind when booking as I was going expecting it to be a little bigger from the angle of the photographs on website!
Very busy hotel and not enough loungers at pool area, staff were pleasant overall and the breakfast is very varied and caters for all needs. Overall a pleasant holiday

Exellent place to stay but now they have a lot off youngster’s coming who the hotel can control late at nights as they are ranting and raving into the early hours off the morning and you can’t get to sleep till 4am been going to the same hotel for last 7 years but I think it’s time to change as hotel staff did nothing about the youngsters

Hotel is nice but not a 4 star, staff are friendly and the food was decent, but the facilities not great the pool is not very big and they do not have enough loungers or umbrellas, only opened one bar in the begining of August and the clientèle is not family friendly as there was more 18 to 20s getting wasted and running round the hotel screaming and banging doors and fighting with each other. Security sometimes tried to no avail and we even threatened the hotel with involving the police which did make them push a little harder.

Good location but in need of renovation

Hotel could do with some improvement on the rooms and bathrooms. It's one of those hotels where you can hear your neighbours footsteps and everywhere they say. I would say it's okay for a one night stay but not for a week you would miss out on your sleep.

I will not stay in this hotel again. We booked online for a price, and they charged us 40 euros more. In addition, the A/C did not work well in the rooms, the beds were not good and the rooms were outdated. Not a great experience, more like sleeping in a sauna. The staff was very helpful and understanding.

Three day stay started with being shouted at by waitress Lola. Made a complaint to receptionist Sabina, she stared and rolled Her eyes at us. Very rude with no customer service skills. We had to pay for the spa facilities and there was a power blackout whilst we were in the steam room and it never came back on, when we told receptionist Sabina she rolled her eyes as if to say we were lying. I then told her I had worked in Accor hotels and her behaviour was totally unprofessional. She then dropped the refund in my sisters hand a stormed off without a word. The hotel was generally clean and the rooms looked clean, but we had a major problem and it resulted in a full refund after much stress. If a representative for h.top hotel chain would like to comment or make contact please do. Total disaster from start to end. We Stay in h.top hotels a lot and have never Had these problems. The receptionist Sabina really made things a lot worse with her total rudeness and she is a very bad representative for the hotel chain. If it was my first time in a h.top hotel I definitely would not want try another one. So I suggest she has training in how to treat guests. Cleaning staff need to be retrained in hygiene.
Manager totally refused to see me when I requested to see him concerning the very delicate situation, I then was left waiting for 45 minutes and my airport transfers had to wait. The manager should have dealt with my complaint and not the receptionist. Not happy

It’s not a 4 star but it is spotless, it’s basic decor and beds, but has fantastic hotel facilities.

The fact you can use your all inclusive card at their other hotels we enjoyed too as they have different set ups, one close to the beach for example was lovely.

The staff fabulous, the food fantastic for a meat eater, being a vegetarian I knew it would be chips and pasta and it was generally but every night there was a vegetable type and salad so it was easy to make a meal, I have no complaints. You don’t get quorn these places and I think that’s what the moaners want.

The hotel is in a party district so it can get rowdy people there, I was personally embarrassed by some of the brits at the hotel, showing us up in true Brit fashion.

The entertainment was brilliant, really couldn’t fault it.
Rooms cleaned every day.
Food literally on tap until 11pm, you cannot go hungry.

My only disappointment was the indoor pool, cold and shallow, otherwise everything was great for a 3 star .

I’d definitely go back to the area, I’d be happy at this hotel but possibly would choose the one nearest the beach. Either were lovely 😊

Fly into Girona and the hotel is 20 mins away, it was cheaper to hire a car for £25 for 5 days than £40 each way transfer.

You should consider few things before to book, the hotel have more to do with 1 star facilities , very noisy ,very old, admins trying to maximise your spending in hotel. you must pay for using internet , no fridge but you can hire one , no table in the room so you can eat .I'm not sure if you will feel good when you understand that the hotel situated on the back of the main cemetery .

Very dated , in need of decoration throughout. Room was for 3 adults but 2 single beds and one small child size camp bed. Restaurant staff never smiled in 5 days ! Check in and check out staff abrupt and need to learn to smile too . It’s central for everything and liked the resort but wouldn’t stay in this hotel again or recommend it to anyone

Great value for money. Large variety of food, meats,
salads, breads, desserts and beer, wine, water and coffee and juices available at meals. 2 descent sized deep pools outdoor and 1 indoor with gym and spa. The entertainment staff try their best and are friendly. We found all the staff to be helpful and friendly. Cards instead of wrist band, if you're there as a couple you have to carry around 5 cards, room key, 2 A.I. cards and 2 glasses cards. ( You have to hand these in when ordering your drinks in the bar, so you will bring you're glasses back. This isn't as much trouble as it sounds.) We had a great time, even though the weather was only average.

Restaurant host (male in a suit) was demonstratively snobbish and provided very poor service to foreign guests while being overly friendly with the Spanish speaking vacationers. The host spoke English fluently but was very reluctant answering questions or discussing issues in English. On a few occasions, the host did not even greet us at dinner - neither in English, nor in Spanish.

I stayed between the 9th-13th May during the Spanish grand prix. The hotel was predominantly full of Spanish guests with all entertainment naturally catering for this audience. Other than the receptionists very few of the staff spoke English and communication was tough at times. The hotel was generally clean throughout and in a good location, about a 5 minute walk from the main bars leading to the beach. The spa was chargeable as was WiFi.

Plus points - Staff were great and the location wasn't too bad (10 minute walk to 3 different beaches)
Negative points - The hotel is like a throwback to the 70's. It is a 2 star at best. The noise at night is incredible with hundreds of teenagers coming back from the clubs. It's beside a main road and the traffic noise alone takes a bit of getting used to. The hotel could do with investing in some sort of soundproofing. You could hear someone cough in the next room like they were in your room.

Good hotel needs things that matter to customers.

We love staying at Royal Top Star hotel, this is our fourth time of staying there within two years. Food is great, house keeping service is good, staff are professional. However we have never been given a double bed as a husband and wife. We always request for one during booking and at the reception during our stay but none has never been provided.
Lack of having double bed may prevent us to patronise them in future.

Not to the quality of its former glory.

Cheap and cheerful. Hotel is going downhill though. Stayed here before and received a much better service.
Staff are not ever in a hurry to serve in any area of the hotel.
Card for drinks is over the top and slows down service in the bar and restaurant.
Dining room needs more staff. Tables never cleaned quickly enough and food not replaced in a timely manner.

FOOD:we ate out every day and night due to the poor quality and lack of variety of food. if you don't like fish or pasta there's nothing for you. there is salad but mostly out of date. there is sometimes fries which are reheated and dried out.DRINKS:You have to carry a card around with you,can only get 1 drink at a time which is in a small plastic cup.this made queues longer and inconvenience of finishing your 1 small drink at the same time to go to the bar for the next.if you want a drink at snack time you have to get it at the bar and carry it to the other side of the hotel then take your cup back afterwards.ROOM:there is no air conditioning in the whole hotel.they have air con vents and thermostat but it doesn't work in any of the rooms(confirmed by reception)sometimes you get hot air through the vents which you can't stop even when the room control is in the off position.beds are extremely uncomfortable.most room views are of concrete walls and some of a graveyard,we could see vomit, tissues spilled drinks, empty bottles etc on the balcony below which was there for around 5 days.one lamp was hanging off the wall in our room with loose wires.STAFF don't want to know if you have a problem and threaten to call the police if you complain about anything like we did about the air con and being really hot in the room.because of the treats we decided to leave complaints til after getting home.one couple checked out because the room was so hot.check tripadvser for more detail

Not 4 stars at all, more something like 2 or 3 stars. Old school hotel, loud guests and you can't sleep until they close the bar at 12-1 am. Beds not comfortable at all. In general go somewhere else. The only good thing is that they clean the rooms every day so that's fine.

Very good value for money. Good choice of food. Rooms kept clean. However, not enough staff on the reception desk at check-in times and to clear tables in the dining room. Cutlery not available and when staff were asked for cutlery guests were pointed to other areas to go and find there own. Not acceptable in a 4 star hotel. Excellant bar staff in the restaurant and lounges.

Your 'typical Costa Brava Experience!'

Great if you want a cheap 'typical Costa Brava' experience.
Not a four star hotel as it lacks those special touches that really make a great hotel but... the staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and maintained to a high standard and the food, (despite what has been written) was actually very good!

Very poor services of hotel, unpleasant personnel especially in dining room, almost hostile.
Food was awful. Very noisy, no order in hotel, guests were making huge noise during the night and no one to worn them. Very lazy staff in bars. Impression is totally negative.

Hotel was cheap and cheerful but probably not a 4star!!!

BIGGEST PLUS is they have ITV and BBC in the rooms!

Both pools were ok but you have to move about a lot as the buiding shades part of the pool during the day.
Beach only 10 mins walk away.
DIDN'T LIKE the fact they don't do poolside snacks - you have to go to the lunch room to eat!
Gym not brilliant but ok!
No fridge in the rooms!
But we had a lovely holiday and it was comfortable and relaxing for a week away!

Needs re-vamp

A nice, but very dated hotel. The entire hotel needs re-painting, re-carpeting and an overall facelift. The buffet food was terrible. The indoor swimming pool was a one metre deep kids paddling pool. There was a charge for internet, steam room and sauna. The free laundry service was again charged for. Reception messed up our room allocation twice. A nice place for a short break, but a distance from the sea.

Le café n’est pas top, le dimanche matin la salle de petit dej hyper bruyante, il n’y avait plus de beurre et pas de recharge , un employé bienveillant m’en a donné merci à lui. La piscine du spa froide. Dans l’ensemble le personnel était agréable .

La clim de la chambre marche a moitié
La télévision de la chambre est complètement fissuré
Ils nettoie tout les jours dans la chambre alors qu'on demande de ne pas venir et quand ils viennent ils ne change pas le savon et ne jette pas la poubelle
Ils font que les drap et c'est tout
Salle de musculation est vide en matériel il y a 2 machines

Donc à l arrivé,un homme assez désagréable à l accueil. Chambres spacieuses et trés propres. Le spa sur réservation et seulement 45 mns par jour.La salle de sport ,minimaliste.Les repas,idem .Assez déçue de ce séjour.

Accueil peu avenant, annonce de supplément à payer par rapport à la réservation sur le site hôtel.com, parce qu’on était 2, alors que j’avais bien réservé une chambre double …
Chambre très simple et état général vieillot. A savoir : L’établissement accueille de grands groupes de jeunes avec l’animation qui va avec !
Les femmes de chambre se permettent d’entrer vous réveiller, et de vous réprimander si vous ne quittez pas 1h avant l’heure le matin, sont 9h30!
Bref je déconseille et je n’y retournerai pas . Hôtel sans intérêt, juste celui de la réservation rapide et disponible la veille de mon séjour .

Pas plus d’une nuit.

Arrivées à 18h30, le spa ferme déjà. Chambre correcte, jusqu’à l’arrivée de la chambre voisine pour qui le respect et le savoir vivre est en option. Chambre très mal insonorisée, on entendait plus les voisins et les voitures que notre propre voix. Nuit très compliquée, très peu dormi. Pour une nuit c’est passable mais pas plus. Pas essayé le repas ni petit déjeuner.

El precio bastante asequible, alrededor de 160€ por dos noches en finde.
Muy amable Anastasia,la recepcionista que nos ha atendido. Muy amable y profesional solucionando cualquier duda o pregunta.
Las camas demasiado duras y la almohada nada confortable,me he despertado con dolor de cuello y espalda. Ni el jacuzzi pudo solucionar el dolor que tenía.
El spa bastante bien ya que va incluido en el precio del alojamiento.

Hôtel qui laisse à désirer, tire sur tout.

Buffet restaurant très médiocre, ce dégrade d'année en année ! Pas de collation dans l'après midi qui devait être proposé dans le prix, et bien sûr payé pour ce sevice.

Je déconseille l'hôtel en famille j'ai passé avec mes enfants deux nuits horribles des crises jusqu'à 3 heure du matin impossible de fermer l'œil des groupes de jeunes surexcités partout.
Nous étions trois prévu dans la chambre, le lit de ma fille n'a était fait.
Sol sale odeur désagréable dans les sanitaires.
Le spa pris d'assaut par un groupes de personnese à 6 dans un spa prévu pour 4.
Impossible de les faire sortir avec des tenues pas très hygiénique.
J'ai demandé une facture avec mon nom et le nom de mes enfants de la totalité du séjour impossible de l'avoir c'est la réponse de la réceptionniste.
Bon bref je ne retournerai pas je trouve que les 300 euro pr deux nuits très chères alors que mes enfants n'ont pas pu fermer l'œil là nuit.
