I only stayed in the hotel 1 night having arrived late into Santiago airport. I was greeted at the door even though it was late. The next day I was taken to the hire car company to pick up my hire car. The gentleman was only to pleased to help even though I had a large bike box. I would highly recommend this property.

If you want a quiet country setting with charm this a place for you, it reminded me of staying at a Grandparents home. The staff were quite friendly and the food was good. Try the local wines they have there.

Paz Xan Xordo is the quintessential parador in Santiago. Located outside the city (about 15 mins away by bus), it offers rest and relaxation in a pastoral setting with plenty of character and local flavor.

First, the main building is gorgeous and was built in the mid 17th century. Common areas inside were beautiful. We had a glass of wine in the 'lobby', the living room of the house that was decorated with family treasures. The grounds were well-kept and there is plenty of space/trails to roam outside. There is a small chapel on site with a very interesting history, and a small brook and grain mill you can visit. According to the waiter at the restaurant, the grounds go as far as the eye can see.

Second, the room and bathroom were excellent, quiet and clean. Room was big and bathroom was huge. We had a window with a lovely view of the grounds. Plenty of closet space. Bed and linens were excellent.

Third, meals are served on what used to be the stable, but now is a beautiful restaurant. Service was stellar (we only had dinner) and the food was topnotch.

Lastly, the service was excellent. An attendant carried our bags to the room. Checkin and checkout was flawless. The manager offered suggestions and helpful advice. You don't even need a car. Bus stop from/to airport or city is 200m away from the hotel.

Highly recommended! AAA all the way.

It has an amazing setting in a small suburb near the airport there. The grounds are well kept.
It felt like a true Spanish experience.
The room was very nice and comfortable.
The host was very gracious.
The only thing we didn't like was the distance from the city center, but it was fairly easy to get there and park.

Such unique experience you cannot get anywhere else. It is a beautiful family run property that every detail of the house is thought out. The owner was very thoughtful and caring; he explained everything you need to know to make sure our stay is comfortable. The cook was very nice and her food was amazingly good. Was just a one night stay because it was close enough to Santiago Airport. There are lots of gubbins and to look at being an old palace for a rich person. There's various antiques and things that make you go \"hm\" around the grounds. Which is all the entertainment you're going to find because there's nothing in the area. My partner wanted a sandwich and they made one for her no problem.

Not suitable accommodation for Camino pilgrim. No facilities on site, not even a kettle to make hot drink and no food available. Uphill 1.5km walk from village along a very busy main road with no verge for walking, traffic speeding by very closely & felt dangerous for walking. Most disappointing stay on an otherwise wonderful Camino experience.

Wish I could have stayed longer!

What a find after a hectic weekend of travel! After lunch and a stroll around the grounds, I relaxed and read on the front patio in the warm afternoon sunshine. I had taken the hotelier's recommendation to walk 1km to a restaurant that served a hearty lunch. Conveniently, the hotel booked a 5:00 A.M. taxi for me to get to the airport the following morning.

Five star service at a three star hotel

The grounds are amazing and we had a wonderful 30 minute walk on a marked path around the property. The owner and his father shuttled us to and from a nearby restaurant and the airport but would NOT accept a gratuity. The breakfast area overlooks a beautiful garden and I was so disappointed that we didn't have to eat because the food looked great. We had a great stay at a very reasonable price.

After going from St Jean Pied de Port to Finisterra I spend the night in this lovely hotel. It was the perfect finish of the Camino for me! They even have their own chapel! Could not have been more enjoyable!! It was close to the airport, the staff was pleasant and helpful. Would recommend without hesitation!

Xan Xordo is a Great Hotel

Great hotel. It was like being in the 17th century, but with nice amenities, not with the touristic stuff. The owner was friendly and helpful. The place was quite and had a nice yard great for walking. The neighborhood was nice and quite. You had a sense of a small town. The restaurant 1 mile or so away was great. The airport was very close too. The hotel was about 4 miles from Santiago. Since I had a car it was not a problem at all. I highly recommend this place.

A charming and tranquil retreat

We needed a hotel close to the Airport as we had an early morning flight home. The situation is brilliant for that - 8 or 9 minutes from door to door and yet it's in a very tranquil setting with no constant buzz of aircraft overhead. This is a beautiful building, an old manor house set in its own garden with surrounding fields and a stream running through them and an old disused mill building too. We enjoyed a very pleasant walk around in the afternoon and then had a drink in the nearby village. Our host at the Paxo was friendly and welcoming and the price for B & B is pretty reasonable. I have to say that, for my personal taste, the decor is rather cluttered - just too many ornaments, pictures and nic nacs for me but others may disagree. The bedroom and ensuite bathroom were fine, again a tad old fashioned but perfectly agreeable.
Our host knew we had an early departure and was in the breakfasting area ahead of us and he made sure we had everything we needed before we dashed off. I think it's probable that the honey was home produced or, certainly, very local and likewise with some of the other offerings.
All in all, this is a charming place to spend a day or two and, if we were in the neighbourhood again, we would definitely return.

A country hotel near Santiago

The Pazo is in the countryside a short drive from Santiago. The hotel is quiet, the rooms are large, spotless and comfortable. The grounds are fun to explore. There is a working mill run by a small stream. The breakfasts are great. We were driving, so this was a perfect place to stay as there are several parking garages available in Santiago. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would certainly recommend this to my friends.

The whole experience was very pleasant. The manor house is very pretty and it has been decorated very tastefully. The staff was very helpful. I stayed at the hotel in two different ocassions on the same trip, with 4 days in between, and the kind gentleman in reception remembered a special request I had the first time around. It's little things like these that make the stay special. Will recommend to my friends.

A cozy hotel in amongst the trees

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel just outside of Santiago. The owner was a very cordial helpful man who was there to help with all and any needs. We only stayed one night but it was very relaxing and QUIET! The room was large enough to move about and with three people in the room it was needed space. The beds were cozy and with the shudders closed it was dark and we slept for about 10 hours. The breakfast was ample and provided the morning lift we needed. We would definitely go back should our travels take us to the Northeast of Spain again.

Nice country-style rooms in kind of a suburb/village. We like to stay a little way out of town and walk in. We thought this place allowed that, but it was 8-10 km to town along a busy road with no sidewalk or shoulder. Nothing at all wrong with the place. It was off season, so there was only one other guest. Very quiet!

Different with a wonderful \"medieval\" charm...

At first, you're a little skeptical, because it's on a back road. (We booked it close to the airport on purpose because we had an early flight.) But what a pleasant surprise! It had the look and feel of a bed and breakfast, but was very spacious and charming.--four post bed and all! The two story building was made of stone, old Spanish style decorations throughout.

Meet the pilgrims to Santiago and take a rest here

We loved this place. Small and rural and completely pleasant. I would stay here again and again. So close to Santiago yet so far away! It is the last stop for the pilgrim walking to cathedral. The very best part of the stay is the wonderful international crowd you meet here. Most of whom are walking to Santiago. Others are the back up \"crew\" supporting their partner on his/her walk. Friendliness is characteristic of the pilgrims and here you can share in their joy and their stories fully. It is an unusual experience to have in a wonderful setting.
