No restaurants open, little store open but sold only candy and a few necessities. Shuttle services to /from airport and into JR station/ mall very good. Room was very tired with a garage sale coffee table, hot water in sink ran very slow, carpet needs attention, fraying at seams, and mostly needs a cleaning. Thermostat in room didn't seem to work, quite cold. Restaurant did open downstairs for a limited time, but appears to be buffet. You can't just get coffee and toast or so it appears, coffee to go out of the question. That all being said the hotel is not expensive but we did note that the Hotels.com site we booked through was about 25% higher than the advertised rate on the hotel website. Thanks Hotels.com

Everything was great it was just too far from all activities.

Two stars taken off just for location. Everything else was great. Small store inside with snacks and simple things, about 50% markup from stores in Narita. No lotion in rooms so good to have store to buy. Restaurant in hotel, simple good food, average price, no complaints. Buffet breakfast with Japanese foods, wide selection, delicious, good quality, definitely best perk of hotel. Room clean and comfortable, plenty of room. The water pressure is amazing. Best showers EVER. Very basic amenities, less than most other hotels but still good. Lovely koi pond to look at while you have breakfast. Staff all friendly helpful and professional.

The hotel woul be a zero if it didn't provide the free shuttle. Very important feature it offers. Shuttle runs once an hour to airport once an hour to Narita station. Unfortunately if you fail to plan it well this means you will need to wait an hour for the shuttle and then further time to travel to your destination from Narita station. I got tired of the long travel times quickly and just explored Narita and didn't bother going to other cities. Also the shuttle ends at 9-10 depending on where you leave from, so the one day I traveled to Tokyo I had to get a taxi back to hotel. Very reasonable at $17 for the ride but would quickly add up if done frequently. I missed having a hotel in walking distance of public transit so i would not recommend this hotel for a long stay.

Very convenient for a stay near the airport. The free shuttle bus was easy to get to and from. Kind staff, and good breakfast! Everything we needed for a layover in Narita. The rooms were basic, but just fine!

Check in was simple and staff were friendly. Shuttle from airport was convenient and easy to navigate. Hotel was quiet, and room was large for japanese standards. The bed was extremely firm, which was not great for me, but the pillows were nice. Very old hotel building, and it does smell of decades of indoor cigarette smoking. However, for the price, and for a short stay to rest on a long layover it was reasonable.

Narita Gateway Hotel was a pleasant stay, and check‑in was quick. I would likely choose this hotel again when visiting Japan. The shuttle service to and from Narita Airport is very convenient, only about a seven‑minute drive.

Cons:
The hotel is a bit dated, but it works well for a one‑night stay before an early flight.

Pros:
The rooms are comfortable and similar to U.S. hotels, with beds on the firmer side. The hotel offers thoughtful touches like amenities, robes, and slippers. The best feature is the free shuttle to both Narita Airport and Aeon Mall.

The room was old, dated, and unbearable. The carpet was old, need to remove or change it… the comforter was non cotton, rayon fabric where u do not want to sit on the bed. The only perk in the room was the shower head in the bathroom. Great water pressure. Well… you get what you paid for

We arrived at 11pm so the shuttle had already stopped running. We had to hire an Uber to get there. I reserved 2 rooms and one of the rooms had ants on the walls and on the bed. They moved 2 of us to a guest suite which was cleaner, more spacious, but actually kind of creepy. The second room was clean and had no issues.

Close to the airport with convenience of shuttle bus. Rooms are a bit old but pretty spacious. There is a nice view of garden from the restaurant. Shuttle bus staff at the other hotel stop was quite rude to the passengers. I understand she needed to place everyone to the bus, however, she could approach in different manner.

The free shuttle bus not only to and from the airport but to the narita station and the Aeon shopping mall helped a lot.
And the room was clean and since I stayed on the 9th floor I enjoyed watching the airplanes fly off was a wonderful experience.
The staff was kind and gave me the assistance I needed, thank you so much

Very old and outdated rooms that are simply not competitive with other hotels in the area.

Short staffing is obvious everywhere. Including the worse - at the breakfast buffet. When they run out of food, such as poached eggs, no staff would replenish it.. The ramen station would have no ramen for 30 minutes. The tuna sashimi station out of tuna for almost an hour. Staff would drop napkins during cleaning then just walk away as if they don't see it. Overall one of the worse breakfast buffet i have experienced in the entire Japan.

Airport shuttle from hotel to airport is contracted to another company that you need to make reservations with .... adding significantly to travel stress.

No staff i met seem to care about your stay. Most of the patrons seem to be with large tour groups.

It does have a small koi pond with a BBQ restaurant on top of it. And that area takes great picture so that's usually what you see in reviews. They supply no deinking water but will give you one if you submit a review.

Room 1004. Cannot control shower water temperature. Very hot and I burn my skin.I called for help but no one answered phone.

Probably one of the worst check in and hotel experiences ever. Surcharge of one extra person although the room clearly has two beds which reasonably is meant for TWO people. Staff appears to be nonchalant. Neither rude or friendly. Kudos to photoshop. Room looks nothing like the pictures online. Extremely old and dilapidated. More like a rundown motel inside. The only highlight is the little garden.

Very close to the airport. Shuttle, however, needs reservation. Reservation online is not-English-friendly and glitchy for English users, but thankfully the front desk helped me reserve. Room controls are contemporary designs which is beautiful in its way but no thermostat control. Overall, good and convenient hotel for an affordable price.

Good-sized hotel near Narita Airport, budget-friendly with coin laundry, gym, and a convenience store on-site. Staff were very helpful, and I appreciated the shuttle service. Amenities were good, and the room was surprisingly spacious compared to others we stayed at in Tokyo. However, the bathroom could use some upgrades, and the carpet had a noticeable smoke smell.

They advertise two restaurants. Not so! 1 cafe open in the afternoons. Maybe.

The other restaurant looks fabulous but out of the 5 days I was there, it was open only one time. And there isn’t any close restaurants to visit. So you have to eat at the gift shop store and go to the laundry room down stairs to warm up your meal!

The power plugs by the beds did not work. This was a known issue to the hotel. The plugs are a part of aged furniture that the hotel has not upgraded or thrown away.

The staff was very helpful and gave us an extension cord (the lonhgest they have but too short tonreach the bedside)

The shuttle service was definitely needed, very far from the town. It was nice to have the shuttle to and from the airport and the train station. However it ran hourly so if you missed it you’d have to wait. Cafe had limited hours so was closed often. There’s a small store in the hotel with some packaged foods and souvenirs which was convenient.

Family trip.

We spent a few days in Narita as we waited for our long flight back home from our trip to Tokyo. They have a free shuttle that took got us to downtown and the mall for free. Free bus shuttle from airport to hotel just plan ahead. Not a new hotel but everything worked and was clean. We enjoyed Narita more than I expected and we have good memories.

This hotel is a good choice and they have shuttle bus from and to airport. Front desk is open even after 8pm. You can check-out via key-drop box. No extra charges or hidden fees. No tips no free breakfast. Good quality and polite/ professional personnel.
