Though the building seemed a little old, it was very clean and nice inside. The staff was very nice and accommodating. It was very convenient to be able to have my luggage held after my check out time. The hotel is very close to a station and the nearby Omotesando street was a lot of fun to explore.

Stayed in a non-smoking room but smelled like chimney anyway. Bed cover had stains and looked like they haven’t been washed in a while. The HVAC system is centralized so if your room gets too hot in the winter, there’s no other way to cool it down unless you open the window. Customer service, however, is good.

This hotel is good for location, near narita airport. Overall it has the amenities that are required for a short stay in Tokyo but it is old and not maintained with regard to cleanliness (the coridors and room smells) though the smell or dusty feeling im room went away when we turned on the ac but it surely needs some carpet change or maintainence.
7-11 is near by, transit is just across, narita airport train travel is 15 mins from here.

I booked this hotel thinking that the free airport shuttle will be available anytime of day but they only have four available times for \"free airport shuttle\" but those times doesn't work with our departure time which we have two different departure times one in the morning and one in the afternoon, any of the hotel shuttle schedule both doesnt work with our departures. It was useless to me booking this hotel.

This is a great hotel with excellent location in Narita - it is about a 2-minute walk to JR Narita Station and a 5-minute walk to Keisei-Narita Station. While it is an older hotel, it is clean, quiet, with friendly service and well-priced. The in-hotel restaurant serves a wonderful breakfast and their staff is also very friendly as well. The hotel also offers free shuttle service to and from Narita Airport.

I will happily stay here next time I stay in Narita.

The lobby area was a bit sketchy, but at least you could tell the rooms had been renovated recently. My only 2 issues were that the restroom had a strong urine smell and some of us were getting bit overnight, possibly bedbugs. Very convenient location (next to narita station), and inexpensive, but I probably would not stay here again.

Great place to stay before heading to the airport. They offered transport to the airport but I took the nearby train instead as the schedule didn't quite work for me. I've been here before though and used it then and recommend it. Lovely staff looked after my luggage while I went for a walk around Narita.

It was easy to catch the shuttle but I heard there are only four shuttles a day. I was lucky not to have to wait too long. There are two train stations near the hotel. It is convenient for the people who knows how to take the train but confusing for people who are new to the train system.

severely outdated. hallways smelled terribly of cigarette smoke. Their laundry area is not a part of the hotel and its outside. Also, the dryers don't work well at all. Took over 3.5 hrs just to dry two separate small loads of laundry.

This property is situated near the JR train station and is walkable to the hotel, but the walkways are not even and pushing 2 huge heavy luggages on wheels can be challenging.

I was attracted to book this hotel because of the shuttle bus service from/to the Narita airport. In the end I couldn’t use the shuttle bus service because it only operates early in the morning and evening. Flights that arrive/depart outside this time frame would need to utilize public transportation to reach the hotel. It would be nice if the hotel can reflect the timing of the shuttle bus services on their website.

Aside from this, the location of the hotel is near to all amenities, restaurants etc. The price of the hotel is reflected to the age and the facilities it provides. Overall, I would book this hotel again on my next Narita stay.

Personally not a fan of smoking, and the room smelled like cigarettes as soon as I walked in. Overall, everything else and the staff were excellent.

Not many things to do immidiately around but just a short walk to the train stations and many other places. Quiet neighbourhood, lots of konbini around.

This hotel had the most comfortable beds during our travels. The washroom was clean, and the bath tub was nice to have.

The heater was nice, did make the air dry, but that comes with this time of the year as well.

The space was nice, had a desk, chair, tv, and a cote for hilding a suitcase.

The breakfast at the hotel was great too! A set meal, but unlimited bread and drink bar. Well worth the money.

The area is very nice as well. Close walk to naritasan temple, where are are tons of food options. Also close to the station.

Major reason for choosing the hotel is because of the free shuttle service going to the airport. However, shuttle trips has time schedule that was not declared beforehand. Earliest trip was 7am in the morning and my international flight was 8:55am. Hence, I was not able to avail of the free service .

We stayed here to fill out time between being dropped off from our cruise in Yokohama and flight home. Ideal location, central to railway stations and shops. Naritasan Park what a find! Amazing place to visit.
Hotel also provides complementary transport to and from Narita airport which was a bonus.

We stayed at the hotel for an afternoon waiting for our overnight flight from Narita. We were able to access our room early, it’s quite small but clean with great Wi-Fi. A free shuttle bus was also provided to the airport. Narita is a wonderful city to visit with magnificent temples, it was a highlight of our Japanese holiday

We booked this hotel because we wanted to get 3 beds (there were 3 of us) and that’s the only reason, since other hotels nearby did not have 3 beds available per room. But the hotel room is old, furnitures were very old. Location of the hotel is ok.

Mainly chose this hotel for its proximity to the nearest JR station - like 5 minute walk. Very close! It's an older hotel room and lots of buttons to control lamps are from the 70s, but cool retro feel. The A/C controller had no battery life, but we opened the window and that was enough to cool down. Friendly staff, offered us a ride to the airport but it didn't match our schedule. I'd stay here again if I had another opportunity.

Hotel and staff were great, better than average 3-star Japense hotel. Room and bed was larger than expected. Two negatives: 1. Airport shuttle is only available in early morning and later afternoon - useless for 4/5/6 PM departures. 2. Late Ckeckout fee of 3,200 yen to 1 PM!

On the web site shows airport transfer. When we went to the hotel bus station we found there is only four times (two in the morning and two in the evening) on the schedule. End up we had to take taxi to the hotel (extra cost.)

The room is dirty. The lamp shade next to my bed is stained. There seems to be stains on the ceiling as well - maybe a water leak from the past. This building is quite aged. It is quiet but quite a distance from the closest JR station; the location is not easy to find as a first timer.

The Narita U-City Hotel is conveniently located behind the Narita JR station. The building is older, but clean with an efficient staff. There were options for eating and drinking within walking distance. For those familiar with Japanese hotels of a certain age, it was great to find that there was not smell of cigarettes smoke from days gone by.

Couldn’t sleep cause of the sound

I just stayed one night and staff was kind but the room was not so clean and I heard the sound all night from the up stairs! so loud sound like someone are running and making a noise, I even heard someone was screaming, I was scared and so couldn’t call and ask to the reception.. hope it’s not horror thing..

Very comfortable room with good light, and super conveniently located within easy walking distance of Narita Station, quick access to Narita Airport (just a short train ride away, with frequent-running trains). The staff was friendly and helpful. And the price is very reasonable.

My only complaint is that my laptop wouldn't connect to the internet via the free wifi. It would connect to the wifi itself, but there was no internet access. My phone connected just fine, however, so it might have been a fluke with my laptop. But I've never had that issue before.

All-in-all, I would definitely recommend.

Best Value! Found this for our 2-day quarantine before transferring to our home. Using the Hotels.com text messaging, U-City staff responded very quickly to my questions in English. Used the free Q-Shuttle (1/hr) from Narita Airport Terminal 2, bus stop #21, takes about an hour, depending on the other passengers stopping. Our room had a nice view of the city, large enough for two smal people (under 5’7”), fast Wi-Fi, clean, comfortable, and convenient. Older facility but well kept condition. Thanks Narita U-City Hotel and Hotels.com for your excellent service!

Nice place, infrequent shuttles to airport

Fine accommodations, friendly staff. We only stayed one night because of a layover, myself with two our kids. It's a bit farther from the airport than other options, but it was well-priced and well-rated, so we went for it. My only complaint is the frequency of the airport shuttle. It shuts down before 8pm, so with luggage we had to take a taxi from the airport, an expense that negated the good deal we got with hotels. We also had to leave an hour earlier than was really necessary, again because the shuttle runs infrequently.

Great Location, lots of restaurants, convenience stores, bakeries and drug stores. Two subway stations (Keisei & JR) and AEON Mall a short bus ride away. When the airport shuttle is not operating you can take both JR and Keisei lines to Narita City and walk to hotel. Hotel has three restaurants and a Salon/Spa that specialize in hair removal.

kawatoyonishiguchikan.com is an authentic Japanese Restaurant nearby with really good value lunch. An Okinawan and BBQ place is right across the street. Two Drug Stores, one at the next intersection away from the JR Narita Station and one right next to the Motorcycle Station.

I counted seven different Convenience Stores and three different banks. (one I actually use currency exchange machine in the lobby)

Room is small with only two hangers. Table is slightly soiled so you need to ask for extra towel to rest your hands/arms if you want to use your computer on the table.

Friendly Staff, family environment and will try to help you with your needs. Wall is thin so you do hear your neighbors but once they realize you hear them they will talk more quietly if they are Japanese. The all you can eat Breakfast (1000 yen Mar.2020 if you are a guest at hotel) is good, both Japanese and Continental. Great selection of tea, juice, and milk.

The 24/48/72 Metro Pass will not get you from here to downtown Tokyo Lines so consider it carefully if you want to go and visit Tokyo but if you want to Eat, Sleep, and Shop. This is a great location!
